We give a classification of sphere quadrangulations satisfying a condition of non‐negative curvature, following Thurston's classification of sphere triangulations under the same condition. The generic family of quadrangulations is parametrized by the points of positive square‐norm of an integral Gaußian lattice in the six‐dimensional complex Lorentz space. There is a subgroup of automorphisms of acting on this lattice whose orbits parametrize sphere quadrangulations in a one‐to‐one manner. This group acts discretely on the corresponding five‐dimensional complex hyperbolic space; is of finite co‐volume; its ball quotient is the moduli space of unordered 8 points on the Riemann sphere, and also appears in Picard‐Terada‐Deligne‐Mostow list. Both Thurston's lattice and our lattice may be thought of as parametrizations of certain families of subgroups of the modular group; equivalently, of certain families of dessins. These families also parametrize points of a moduli space.  相似文献

In this article we give an upper bound for the number of cusps on a cuspidal curve on a Hirzebruch surface. We adapt the results that have been found for a similar question asked for cuspidal curves on the projective plane, and restate the results in this new setting.  相似文献

For any smooth projective variety, we study a birational invariant, defined by Campana which depends on the Kodaira dimension of the subsheaves of the cotangent bundle of the variety and its exterior powers. We provide new bounds for a related invariant in any dimension and in particular we show that it is equal to the Kodaira dimension of the variety, in dimension up to 4, if this is not negative.  相似文献

We introduce numerical invariants of holomorphic singular foliations under bimeromorphic transformations of surfaces. We study two rings of quotients of C(X), the ring of continuous functions on the Tychonoff space X. The first, F(X), is the ring of quotients induced by the filter of ideals consisting of dense finite intersections of fixed maximal ideals. The second, C[F], is the ring of quotients induced by the filter of dense cofinite subspaces of X. After some preliminary information we explicitly describe in §2 and §3 the constructions of these rings of quotients. In the third section, we use F(X)and C[F] to define and study the class of h-points and h-spaces. In particular, we show that C-spaces and P-spaces are h-spaces. In the last section we construct an ideal of C(X)which will be used to give an ideal theoretic characterization of h-points. The purpose of this article is to introduce the theory of presentations of monoids acts. We aim to construct “nice” general presentations for various act constructions pertaining to subacts and Rees quotients. More precisely, given an M-act A and a subact B of A, on the one hand, we construct presentations for B and the Rees quotient A/B using a presentation for A, and on the other hand, we derive a presentation for A from presentations for B and A/B. We also construct a general presentation for the union of two subacts. From our general presentations, we deduce a number of finite presentability results. Finally, we consider the case where a subact B has a finite complement in an M-act A. We show that if M is a finitely generated monoid and B is finitely presented, then A is finitely presented. We also show that if M belongs to a wide class of monoids, including all finitely presented monoids, then the converse also holds.  相似文献

A local convergence theorem and five semi-local convergence theorems of the secant method are listed in this paper.For every convergence theorem,a convergence ball is respectively introduced,where the hypothesis conditions of the corresponding theorem can be satisfied.Since all of these convergence balls have the same center x~*,they can be viewed as a homocentric ball. Convergence theorems are sorted by the different sizes of various radii of this homocentric ball, and the sorted sequence represents the degree of weakness on the conditions of convergence theorems.  相似文献

We apply Borcherds' methods for constructing automorphic forms to embed the moduli space of marked complex cubic surfaces into . Specifically, we construct 270 automorphic forms on the complex 4-ball , automorphic with respect to a particular discrete group . We use the identification from [ACT2] of with the Baily-Borel compactification of . Our forms span a 10-dimensional space, and we exhibit the image of in as the intersection of 270 cubic hypersurfaces. Finally, we interpret the pairwise ratios of our forms as the original invariants of cubic surfaces, the cross-ratios introduced by Cayley.
