In the literature, several methods are proposed for solving transportation problems in fuzzy environment but in all the proposed methods the parameters are represented by normal fuzzy numbers. [S.H. Chen, Operations on fuzzy numbers with function principal, Tamkang Journal of Management Sciences 6 (1985) 13–25] pointed out that in many cases it is not to possible to restrict the membership function to the normal form and proposed the concept of generalized fuzzy numbers. There are several papers in the literature in which generalized fuzzy numbers are used for solving real life problems but to the best of our knowledge, till now no one has used generalized fuzzy numbers for solving the transportation problems. In this paper, a new method is proposed for solving fuzzy transportation problems by assuming that a decision maker is uncertain about the precise values of the transportation cost, availability and demand of the product. In the proposed method transportation cost, availability and demand of the product are represented by generalized trapezoidal fuzzy numbers. To illustrate the proposed method a numerical example is solved and the obtained results are compared with the results of existing methods. Since the proposed method is a direct extension of classical method so the proposed method is very easy to understand and to apply on real life transportation problems for the decision makers.  相似文献

Claims reserving is obviously necessary for representing future obligations of an insurance company and selection of an accurate method is a major component of the overall claims reserving process. However, the wide range of unquantifiable factors which increase the uncertainty should be considered when using any method to estimate the amount of outstanding claims based on past data. Unlike traditional methods in claims analysis, fuzzy set approaches can tolerate imprecision and uncertainty without loss of performance and effectiveness. In this paper, hybrid fuzzy least-squares regression, which is proposed by Chang (2001), is used to predict future claim costs by utilizing the concept of a geometric separation method. We use probabilistic confidence limits for designing triangular fuzzy numbers. Thus, it allows us to reflect variability measures contained in a data set in the prediction of future claim costs. We also propose weighted functions of fuzzy numbers as a defuzzification procedure in order to transform estimated fuzzy claim costs into a crisp real equivalent.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce the middle-parametric representation of a fuzzy number presenting some of the advantages in the use of this representation. A special attention is focused on the subset of symmetric fuzzy numbers presenting the special properties of their arithmetic. The approach on symmetric fuzzy numbers is sustained by the applications of these kinds of fuzzy numbers in fuzzy linear programming and by the presence of the symmetric Gaussian type fuzzy numbers in the theory of errors. As potential applications of the middle-parametric representation, some fuzzy interpolation problems are considered.  相似文献

Fuzzy number approximation by trapezoidal fuzzy numbers which preserves the expected interval is discussed. Algorithms for calculating the proper approximations are proposed and some properties of the approximation operators are discussed. It is shown that an adequate approximation operator might be chosen through the comparisons of some characteristics of the fuzzy number, like its ambiguity, width, its value and weighted expected value.  相似文献

Ordering fuzzy quantities and their comparison play a key tool in many applied models in the world and in particular decision-making procedures. However a huge number of researches is attracted to this filed but until now there is any unique accepted method to rank the fuzzy quantities. In fact, each proposed method may has some shortcoming. So we are going to present a novel method based on the angle of the reference functions to cover a wide range of fuzzy quantities by over coming the draw backs of some existing methods. In the mentioned firstly, the angle between the left and right membership functions (the reference functions) of every fuzzy set is called Angle of Fuzzy Set (AFS), and then in order to extend ranking of two fuzzy sets the angle of fuzzy sets and α-cuts is used. The method is illustrated by some numerical examples and in particular the results of ranking by the proposed method and some common and existing methods for ranking fuzzy sets is compared to verify the advantage of the new approach. In particular, based on the results of comparison of our method with well known methods which are exist in the literature, we will see that against of most existing ranking approaches, our proposed approach can rank fuzzy numbers that have the same mode and symmetric spreads. In fact, the proposed method in this paper can effectively rank symmetric fuzzy numbers as well as the effective methods which are appeared in the literature. Moreover, unlike of most existing ranking approaches, our proposed approach can rank non-normal fuzzy sets. Finally, we emphasize that the concept of fuzzy ordering is one of key role in establishing the numerical algorithms in operations research such as fuzzy primal simplex algorithms, fuzzy dual simplex algorithms and as well as discussed in the works of Ebrahimnejad and Nasseri and coworkers , , , , ,  and .  相似文献

In this paper, contributions to fuzzy probability and to differential equations with fuzzy parameters are made.After an introductory section, a review of fuzzy sets and fuzzy algebra is given in Section 2. The main new results of the investigation are contained in Section 3.In Section 3, Zadeh's definition of the probability of a ‘fuzzy event’ the average value of a fuzzy function are extended into the time domain. It is then shown that not only grades of membership, but also probabilistic processes with notions of fuzziness contained, can be defined which obey ordinary, matric, or integro-differential equations. The works of De Luca & Termini continued by, for example, Knopfmacher, Loo and Gottwald, are the most important on the topic of determination of measures of fuzzy sets. The matter is to evaluate how fuzzy a fuzzy set is. This paper presents a fuzzy clustering algorithm, called the alternative fuzzy c-numbers (AFCN) clustering algorithm, for LR-type fuzzy numbers based on an exponential-type distance function. On the basis of the gross error sensitivity and influence function, this exponential-type distance is claimed to be robust with respect to noise and outliers. Hence, the AFCN clustering algorithm is more robust than the fuzzy c-numbers (FCN) clustering algorithm presented by Yang and Ko (Fuzzy Sets and Systems 84 (1996) 49). Some numerical experiments were performed to assess the performance of FCN and AFCN. Numerical results clearly indicate AFCN to be superior in performance to FCN. Finally, we apply the FCN and AFCN algorithms to real data. The experimental results show the superiority of AFCN in Taiwanese tea evaluation.  相似文献

EU Gender Directive ruled out discrimination against gender in charging premium for insurance products. This prohibition prevents the use of the standard actuarial fairness principle to price life insurance products. According to current actuarial practice, unisex premiums are calculated with a simple weighting rule of the gender-specific life tables. This procedure is likely to violate portfolio fairness principles. Up to our knowledge, in the actuarial literature there is no unisex mortality model that respects the unisex fairness principle. This paper is the first attempt to fill this gap. First, we recall the notion of unisex fairness principle and the corresponding unisex fair premium. Then, we provide a unisex stochastic mortality model for the mortality intensity that is underlying the pricing of a life portfolio of females and males belonging to the same cohort. Finally, we calibrate the unisex mortality model using the unisex fairness principle. We find that the weighting coefficient between the males’ and females’ own mortalities depends mainly on the quote of portfolio relative to each gender, on the age, and on the type of insurance products. The knowledge of a proper unisex mortality model could help life insurance companies to better understanding the nature of the risk of a mixed portfolio.  相似文献

Up to now, these are five methods of ranking n fuzzy numbers in order, but these methods contain some confusions and occasionally conflict with intuition. This paper introduces the concept of maximizing set and minimizing set to decide the ordering value of each fuzzy number and uses these values to determine the order of the n fuzzy numbers. Linear programming problems with fuzzy parameters are formulated by fuzzy functions. The ambiguity considered here is not randomness, but fuzziness which is associated with the lack of a sharp transition from membership to nonmembership. Parameters on constraint and objective functions are given by fuzzy numbers. In this paper, our object is the formulation of a fuzzy linear programming problem to obtain a reasonable solution under consideration of the ambiguity of parameters. This fuzzy linear programming problem with fuzzy numbers can be regarded as a model of decision problems where human estimation is influential.  相似文献

We give a systematic development of fuzzy matrix theory. Many of our results generalize to matrices over the two element Boolean algebra, over the nonnegative real numbers, over the nonnegative integers, and over the semirings, and we present these generalizations. Our first main result is that while spaces of fuzzy vectors do not have a unique basis in general they have a unique standard basis, and the cardinality of any two bases are equal. Thus concepts of row and column basis, row and column rank can be defined for fuzzy matrices. Then we study Green's equivalence classes of fuzzy matrices. New we give criteria for a fuzzy matrix to be regular and prove that the row and column rank of any regular fuzzy matrix are equal. Various inverses are also studied. In the next section, we obtain bounds for the index and period of a fuzzy matrix.  相似文献

In this paper we present an application of a new method of constructing fuzzy estimators for the parameters of a given probability distribution function, using statistical data. This application belongs to the financial field and especially to the section of financial engineering. In financial markets there are great fluctuations, thus the element of vagueness and uncertainty is frequent. This application concerns Theoretical Pricing of Options and in particular the Black and Scholes Options Pricing formula. We make use of fuzzy estimators for the volatility of stock returns and we consider the stock price as a symmetric triangular fuzzy number. Furthermore we apply the Black and Scholes formula by using adaptive fuzzy numbers introduced by Thiagarajah et al. [K. Thiagarajah, S.S. Appadoo, A. Thavaneswaran, Option valuation model with adaptive fuzzy numbers, Computers and Mathematics with Applications 53 (2007) 831–841] for the stock price and the volatility and we replace the fuzzy volatility and the fuzzy stock price by possibilistic mean value. We refer to both cases of call and put option prices according to the Black & Scholes model and also analyze the results to Greek parameters. Finally, a numerical example is presented for both methods and a comparison is realized based on the results.  相似文献
