Considerable lithium‐driven volume changes and loss of crystallinity on cycling have impeded the sustainable use of transition metal oxides (MOs) as attractive anode materials for advanced lithium‐ion batteries that have almost six times the capacity of carbon per unit volume. Herein, Co3O4 was used as a model MO in a facile process involving two pyrolysis steps for in situ encapsulation of nanosized MO in porous two‐dimensional graphitic carbon nanosheets (2D‐GCNs) with high surface areas and abundant active sites to overcome the above‐mentioned problems. The proposed method is inexpensive, industrially scalable, and easy to operate with a high yield. TEM revealed that the encaged Co3O4 is well separated and uniformly dispersed with surrounding onionlike graphitic layers. By taking advantage of the high electronic conductivity and confinement effect of the surrounding 2D‐GCNs, a hierarchical GCNs‐coated Co3O4 (Co3O4@GCNs) anode with 43.5 wt % entrapped active nanoparticles delivered a remarkable initial specific capacity of 1816 mAh g?1 at a current density of 100 mA g?1. After 50 cycles, the retained capacity is as high as 987 mAh g?1. When the current density was increased to 1000 mA g?1, the anode showed a capacity retention of 416 mAh g?1. Enhanced reversible rate capability and prolonged cycling stability were found for Co3O4@GCN compared to pure GCNs and Co3O4. The Co3O4@GCNs hybrid holds promise as an efficient candidate material for anodes due to its low cost, environmentally friendly nature, high capacity, and stability.  相似文献

Metal oxides have a large storage capacity when employed as anode materials for lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs). However, they often suffer from poor capacity retention due to their low electrical conductivity and huge volume variation during the charge–discharge process. To overcome these limitations, fabrication of metal oxides/carbon hybrids with hollow structures can be expected to further improve their electrochemical properties. Herein, ZnO‐Co3O4 nanocomposites embedded in N‐doped carbon (ZnO‐Co3O4@N‐C) nanocages with hollow dodecahedral shapes have been prepared successfully by the simple carbonizing and oxidizing of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs). Benefiting from the advantages of the structural features, i.e. the conductive N‐doped carbon coating, the porous structure of the nanocages and the synergistic effects of different components, the as‐prepared ZnO‐Co3O4@N‐C not only avoids particle aggregation and nanostructure cracking but also facilitates the transport of ions and electrons. As a result, the resultant ZnO‐Co3O4@N‐C shows a discharge capacity of 2373 mAh g?1 at the first cycle and exhibits a retention capacity of 1305 mAh g?1 even after 300 cycles at 0.1 A g?1. In addition, a reversible capacity of 948 mAh g?1 is obtained at a current density of 2 A g?1, which delivers an excellent high‐rate cycle ability.  相似文献

Mesoporous Co3O4 nanosheets (Co3O4‐NS) and nitrogen‐doped reduced graphene oxide (N‐rGO) are synthesized by a facile hydrothermal approach, and the N‐rGO/Co3O4‐NS composite is formulated through an infiltration procedure. Eventually, the obtained composites are subjected to various characterization techniques, such as XRD, Raman spectroscopy, surface area analysis, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and TEM. The lithium‐storage properties of N‐rGO/Co3O4‐NS composites are evaluated in a half‐cell assembly to ascertain their suitability as a negative electrode for lithium‐ion battery applications. The 2D/2D nanostructured mesoporous N‐rGO/Co3O4‐NS composite delivered a reversible capacity of about 1305 and 1501 mAh g?1 at a current density of 80 mA g?1 for the 1st and 50th cycles, respectively. Furthermore, excellent cyclability, rate capability, and capacity retention characteristics are noted for the N‐rGO/Co3O4‐NS composite. This improved performance is mainly related to the existence of mesoporosity and a sheet‐like 2D hierarchical morphology, which translates into extra space for lithium storage and a reduced electron pathway. Also, the presence of N‐rGO and carbon shells in Co3O4‐NS should not be excluded from such exceptional performance, which serves as a reliable conductive channel for electrons and act as synergistically to accommodate volume expansion upon redox reactions. Ex‐situ TEM, impedance spectroscopy, and XPS, are also conducted to corroborate the significance of the 2D morphology towards sustained lithium storage.  相似文献

Composites of Co3O4/graphene nanosheets are prepared and characterized by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. Their electrochemical behavior as anode materials of lithium-ion rechargeable batteries is investigated by galvanostatic discharge/charge measurements and cyclic voltammetry. The composite is composed of Co3O4 nanorods (around 20??0?nm in diameter) and nanoparticles (around 10?nm in diameter) distributed within the graphene matrix. The specific capacity of the composite is higher than both Co3O4 and graphene nanosheets. The cycling stability of Co3O4 is obviously enhanced by compositing with graphene. After 100 cycles, the discharge and charge capacity of the composite is 1,005 and 975?mAh g??, respectively, and the irreversible capacity loss is less than 3%.  相似文献

The structural evolution of the Co3O4 fine powders prepared by rheological phase reaction and pyrolysis method upon different temperature has been investigated using X‐ray diffraction (XRD) topography. The electrochemical performance of Co3O4 electrode materials for Li‐ion batteries is studied in the form of Li/Co3O4 cells. The reversible capacity as high as 930 mAh/g for the Co3O4 sample heat‐treated at 600 °C is achieved and sustained over 30 times charge‐discharge cycles at room temperature. The detailed information concerning the reaction mechanism of Co3O4 active material together with lithium ion is obtained through ex‐situ XRD topography, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis and cyclic voltammetry (CV) technique. And it is revealed that a “two‐step” reaction is involved in the charge and discharge of the Li/Co3O4 cells, in which Co3O4 active material is reversibly reduced into xCoO(3 ‐ x)CoO and then into metallic Co.  相似文献

Mesoporous wall‐structured TiO2 on reduced graphene oxide (RGO) nanosheets were successfully fabricated through a simple hydrothermal process without any surfactants and annealed at 400 °C for 2 h under argon. The obtained mesoporous structured TiO2–RGO composites had a high surface area (99 0307 m2 g?1) and exhibited excellent electrochemical cycling (a reversible capacity of 260 mAh g?1 at 1.2 C and 180 mAh g?1 at 5 C after 400 cycles), demonstrating it to be a promising method for the development of high‐performance Li‐ion batteries.  相似文献

Sodium‐ion batteries are important alternative energy storage devices that have recently come again into focus for the development of large‐scale energy storage devices because sodium is an abundant and low‐cost material. However, the development of electrode materials with long‐term stability has remained a great challenge. A novel negative‐electrode material, a P2‐type layered oxide with the chemical composition Na2/3Co1/3Ti2/3O2, exhibits outstanding cycle stability (ca. 84.84 % capacity retention for 3000 cycles, very small decrease in the volume (0.046 %) after 500 cycles), good rate capability (ca. 41 % capacity retention at a discharge/charge rate of 10 C), and a usable reversible capacity of about 90 mAh g?1 with a safe average storage voltage of approximately 0.7 V in the sodium half‐cell. This P2‐type layered oxide is a promising anode material for sodium‐ion batteries with a long cycle life and should greatly promote the development of room‐temperature sodium‐ion batteries.  相似文献

Two‐dimensional (2D) nanomaterials are one of the most promising types of candidates for energy‐storage applications due to confined thicknesses and high surface areas, which would play an essential role in enhanced reaction kinetics. Herein, a universal process that can be extended for scale up is developed to synthesise ultrathin cobalt‐/nickel‐based hydroxides and oxides. The sodium and lithium storage capabilities of Co3O4 nanosheets are evaluated in detail. For sodium storage, the Co3O4 nanosheets exhibit excellent rate capability (e.g., 179 mA h g?1 at 7.0 A g?1 and 150 mA h g?1 at 10.0 A g?1) and promising cycling performance (404 mA h g?1 after 100 cycles at 0.1 A g?1). Meanwhile, very impressive lithium storage performance is also achieved, which is maintained at 1029 mA h g?1 after 100 cycles at 0.2 A g?1. NiO and NiCo2O4 nanosheets are also successfully prepared through the same synthetic approach, and both deliver very encouraging lithium storage performances. In addition to rechargeable batteries, 2D cobalt‐/nickel‐based hydroxides and oxides are also anticipated to have great potential applications in supercapacitors, electrocatalysis and other energy‐storage‐/‐conversion‐related fields.  相似文献

The amino acid arginine was used to modify the surface of graphene oxide nanosheets and then nickel‐substituted cobalt ferrite nanoparticles were supported on those arginine‐grafted graphene oxide nanosheets (Ni0.5Co0.5Fe2O4@Arg–GO). The prepared Ni0.5Co0.5Fe2O4@Arg–GO was characterized using flame atomic absorption spectroscopy, inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry, energy‐dispersive spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, X‐ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The application of Ni0.5Co0.5Fe2O4@Arg–GO as a catalyst was examined in a one‐pot tandem oxidative cyclization of primary alcohols with o ‐phenylenediamine to benzimidazoles under aerobic oxidation conditions. The results showed that 2‐phenylbenzimidazole derivatives were successfully achieved using Ni0.5Co0.5Fe2O4@Arg–GO nanocomposite catalyst via the one‐pot tandem oxidative cyclization strategy.  相似文献

Sodium‐ion batteries are a very promising alternative to lithium‐ion batteries because of their reliance on an abundant supply of sodium salts, environmental benignity, and low cost. However, the low rate capability and poor long‐term stability still hinder their practical application. A cathode material, formed of RuO2‐coated Na3V2O2(PO4)2F nanowires, has a 50 nm diameter with the space group of I4/mmm. When used as a cathode material for Na‐ion batteries, a reversible capacity of 120 mAh g?1 at 1 C and 95 mAh g?1 at 20 C can be achieved after 1000 charge–discharge cycles. The ultrahigh rate capability and enhanced cycling stability are comparable with high performance lithium cathodes. Combining first principles computational investigation with experimental observations, the excellent performance can be attributed to the uniform and highly conductive RuO2 coating and the preferred growth of the (002) plane in the Na3V2O2(PO4)2F nanowires.  相似文献

In the work, a facile and green two‐step synthetic strategy was purposefully developed to efficiently fabricate hierarchical shuttle‐shaped mesoporous ZnFe2O4 microrods (MRs) with a high tap density of ~0.85 g cm3, which were assembled by 1D nanofiber (NF) subunits, and further utilized as a long‐life anode for advanced Li‐ion batteries. The significant role of the mixed solvent of glycerin and water in the formation of such hierarchical mesoporous MRs was systematically investigated. After 488 cycles at a large current rate of 1000 mA g?1, the resulting ZnFe2O4 MRs with high loading of ~1.4 mg per electrode still preserved a reversible capacity as large as ~542 mAh g?1. Furthermore, an initial charge capacity of ~1150 mAh g?1 is delivered by the ZnFe2O4 anode at 100 mA g?1, resulting in a high Coulombic efficiency of ~76 % for the first cycle. The superior Li‐storage properties of the as‐obtained ZnFe2O4 were rationally associated with its mesoprous micro‐/nanostructures and 1D nanoscaled building blocks, which accelerated the electron transportation, facilitated Li+ transfer rate, buffered the large volume variations during repeated discharge/charge processes, and provided rich electrode–electrolyte sur‐/interfaces for efficient lithium storage, particularly at high rates.  相似文献

SnS2/polypyrrole (PPy) composites were successfully synthesized by PPy modification of SnS2 via a simple and effective solvothermal and chemical method. The microstructure, morphology, electrical conductivity, PPy content, and electrochemical properties of these materials were characterized by X‐ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), four‐point probe technique, thermogavimetry (TG), and constant‐current charge/discharge tests, respectively. The results demonstrate that PPy is tightly coated on the 3D flower‐like SnS2 and that the conductivity of SnS2 /PPy composites can be greatly improved by the PPy modification. The electrochemical results indicate that PPy is not involved in the electrode reaction, but it can dramatically improve the reversible capacity and cyclic performance. The recharge capacity retention after 30 cycles remained at 523 mAh/g, which is significantly higher than that of SnS2 without modification by PPy. The better cycling performance compared to SnS2 nanoparticles should be due to the 3D nano‐flower‐like SnS2 particles and the modification of SnS2 by PPy.  相似文献

The spinel Li‐Mn‐O‐F compound cathode materials were synthesized by solid‐state reaction from calculated amounts LiOH‐H2O, MnO2(EMD) and LiF. The results of the electrochemical test demonstrated that these materials exhibited excellent electrochemical properties. It's initial capacity is ‐ 115 mAh.g1 and reversible efficiency is about 100%. After 60 cycles, its capacity is still around 110 mAh.g1 with nearly 100% reversible efficiency. The spinel Li‐Mn‐O‐F compound possibly has two structure models: interstitial model [Li]‐[Mn3+xMn4+2‐x]O4Fδ, in which the fluorine is located on the interstice of crystal lattice, and substituted model [Li]‐[Mn3+xMn4+2‐x]O4‐δFδ, which the fluorine atom substituted the oxygen atom. The electrochemical result supports the interstitial model [Li][Mn3+xMn4+2‐x]O4Fδ.  相似文献

A new composite catalyst AgBr/CaMoO4 was successfully fabricated by loading AgBr nanoparticles on CaMoO4 support via a convenient precipitation/deposition method, without any controlling agent and template. The microstructure, chemical composition, and morphologies of the AgBr/CaMoO4 were characterized by X‐ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. A series of comparative experiments showed that the composite AgBr/CaMoO4 exhibits higher catalytic activity than pure AgBr or CaMoO4 for the reduction of p‐nitrophenol (4‐NP). Moreover, the AgBr content greatly impacted the catalytic activity of composite AgBr/CaMoO4 . The conversion rate of 4‐NP with AgBr/CaMoO4 ‐5% as catalyst could reach 100% within only 4 min, which might be attributed to more number of available active sites from the highly dispersed AgBr nanoparticles on the surface of CaMoO4 microspheres. In addition, the composite catalyst AgBr/CaMoO4 displayed a good structural and cycling stability. The present study might provide a new strategy to design composite materials with excellent catalytic performance.  相似文献

A superior Na3V2(PO4)3‐based nanocomposite (NVP/C/rGO) has been successfully developed by a facile carbothermal reduction method using one most‐common chelator, disodium ethylenediamintetraacetate [Na2(C10H16N2O8)], as both sodium and nitrogen‐doped carbon sources for the first time. 2D‐reduced graphene oxide (rGO) nanosheets are also employed as highly conductive additives to facilitate the electrical conductivity and limit the growth of NVP nanoparticles. When used as the cathode material for sodium‐ion batteries, the NVP/C/rGO nanocomposite exhibits the highest discharge capacity, the best high‐rate capabilities and prolonged cycling life compared to the pristine NVP and single‐carbon‐modified NVP/C. Specifically, the 0.1 C discharge capacity delivered by the NVP/C/rGO is 116.8 mAh g?1, which is obviously higher than 106 and 112.3 mAh g?1 for the NVP/C and pristine NVP respectively; it can still deliver a specific capacity of about 80 mAh g?1 even at a high rate up to 30 C; and its capacity decay is as low as 0.0355 % per cycle when cycled at 0.2 C. Furthermore, the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy was also implemented to compare the electrode kinetics of all three NVP‐based cathodes including the apparent Na diffusion coefficients and charge‐transfer resistances.  相似文献

Transition metal oxides with high capacity are considered a promising electrode material for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). Nevertheless, the huge volume expansion and poor conductivity severely hamper their practical application. In this work, a carbon riveting method is reported to address the above issues by designing multilayered N-doped carbon (N-carbon) enveloped Fe3O4/graphene nanosheets. When evaluated as a negative electrode, the N-carbon/Fe3O4/graphene nanocomposites demonstrate greatly enhanced electrochemical properties compared with Fe3O4/graphene. The N-carbon/Fe3O4/graphene presents a superior reversible capacity (807 mAh/g) over Fe3O4/graphene (540 mAh/g). Furthermore, it affords a considerable capacity of 550 mAh/g at 1 A/g over 700 cycles, indicating superb cycling stability. The structure-property correlation studies reveal that the carbon riveting layer is essential for enhancing the lithium diffusion kinetics. The good electrochemical properties and effective structure design make the carbon riveting strategy quite general and reliable to manipulate high performance electrodes for future LIBs.  相似文献

We report a convenient, low-cost and ecofriendly approach for the fabrication of a Co3O4/CoOOH electrode material intended for lithium ion batteries (LIBs) and supercapacitors (SCs) using the electrochemical dispersion of the cobalt foil through the pulse alternating current (PAC) method. The synthesized material is a Co3O4/CoOOH composite (with about 10–15 wt% CoOOH) in the form of nanosheets with a length of approximately 200 nm and a thickness of 10–20 nm. It is found to exhibit high reversible discharge specific capacities and good cycling behavior while tested as the anode material in LIBs. Measuring the reversible capacitance at high (2C) and low (C/20) cycling rates gives the values of 610 mAh g−1 and 1030 mAh g−1, respectively. The specimen possesses excellent performance as the electrode for SCs with the retention of capacitance up to 98% at the current density increasing from 0.5 to 10 A g−1. After 1000 cycles at a current density of 10 A g−1 the electrode maintains about 90% of its initial capacitance which evidences the long cycle life. Hence, electrochemically prepared Co3O4/CoOOH seems to be a promising candidate for high-performance LIBs and SCs applications.  相似文献

A facile microwave method was employed to synthesize NiCo2O4 nanosheets as electrode materials for lithium‐ion batteries and supercapacitors. The structure and morphology of the materials were characterized by X‐ray diffraction, field‐emission scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller methods. Owing to the porous nanosheet structure, the NiCo2O4 electrodes exhibited a high reversible capacity of 891 mA h g?1 at a current density of 100 mA g?1, good rate capability and stable cycling performance. When used as electrode materials for supercapacitors, NiCo2O4 nanosheets demonstrated a specific capacitance of 400 F g?1 at a current density of 20 A g?1 and superior cycling stability over 5000 cycles. The excellent electrochemical performance could be ascribed to the thin porous structure of the nanosheets, which provides a high specific surface area to increase the electrode–electrolyte contact area and facilitate rapid ion transport.  相似文献
