A theory of generation of anti-Stokes radiation on the eigenvibrations in a suspension of cylindrical nanoparticles in the field of two copropagating electromagnetic pump waves has been developed. Surface ponderomotive forces are shown to induce acoustic vibrations and dipolemoments of nanoparticles at the anti-Stokes frequency. Under these conditions, the scattering efficiency depends on the dielectric characteristics of the solution and the acoustic parameters of the liquid and solid fractions of the suspension. Experiments on stimulated low-frequency Raman scattering of laser radiation in aqueous suspensions of tobacco mosaic virus in a buffer solution have been performed. A coherent signal of the Stokes component with a frequency shift of ≈60GHz is detected; this value is in good agreement with the estimated frequency shift for stimulated excitation of eigenvibrations of cylindrical nanoparticles in a liquid: ≈50 GHz.  相似文献

Localized surface electromagnetic resonances in spherical nanoparticles with gain are investigated by using the Mie theory. Due to the coupling between the gain and resonances, super scattering phenomenon is raised and the total scattering efficiency is increased by over six orders of magnitude. The dual frequency resonance induced by the electric dipole term of the particle is observed. The distributions of electromagnetic field and the Poynting vector around nanoparticles are provided for better understanding different multipole resonances. Finally, the scattering properties of active spherical nanoparticles are investigated when the sizes of nanoparticles are beyond the quasi-static limit. It is noticed that more highorder multipole resonances can be excited with the increase of the radius. Besides, all resonances dominated by multipole magnetic terms can only appear in dielectric materials.  相似文献

The radiation transfer equation for a semi -infinite scattering medium is solved. The solution provides information on the size distribution function of the scattering particles, starting from experimental data on the multiple scattering of electromagnetic radiation. 基于等效原理和互易性定理研究了两个相邻目标的电磁散射问题,给出了这一复合电磁散射模型的二阶散射结果. 通常平面入射波的一阶散射结果容易求解,但由于耦合效应的复杂性,很难给出二阶散射结果的解析形式. 应用互易性定理给出了求解任意相邻导体/介质目标二阶电磁散射场的公式,并利用等效原理将求解散射场公式中的体积分简化为面积分的形式,从而降低了求解难度. 同时还推导了两个目标的二次散射场之间的关系. 最后应用给出的公式,求解了两相邻球形目标的复合散射场,对双站散射结果进行了讨论,同时与应用时域积分方程法求得的结果进行了比较. 关键词: 等效原理 互易性定理 电磁散射 相邻圆球  相似文献

Using the method of discrete sources, we solve the problem of scattering of electromagnetic waves by structures composed of a finite number of three-dimensional perfectly conducting bodies bounded by smooth surfaces of arbitrary shape. We describe briefly the capabilities of the package of computer codes developed for calculating the scattered-field characteristics and checking the accuracy of the solution obtained. We present some results of numerical calculations aimed at analysis of the influence of the distance between the bodies on their electromagnetic interaction.  相似文献

Dielectric nanoparticles are expected to complement or even replace plasmonic nanoparticles in many optical and optoelectronic applications, because they exhibit small absorption losses and support strong electric and magnetic resonances simultaneously. Dielectric nanoparticles need to be deposited on various substrates in many applications. Understanding the substrate effect on the electromagnetic resonances of dielectric nanoparticles is of great importance for engineering their resonance properties and designing optical devices. In this study, moderate-refractive-index cuprous oxide nanospheres with uniform sizes and shapes are synthesized. The scattering spectra and images of the nanospheres deposited on three types of substrates are analyzed experimentally and theoretically. When supported on indium tin oxide–coated glass slides and Si wafers, the color of the nanospheres varies from blue, cyan, green, yellow, orange and red, covering almost the entire visible region. When deposited on gold films, the electromagnetic resonances of the nanospheres redshift intensively and a new effective magnetic resonance mode appears. The enhanced Raman scattering reveals that large electromagnetic field enhancements are produced in the gap region between the nanosphere and the substrate. The results shed light on the manipulation of the electromagnetic responses of dielectric nanoparticles and the design of dielectric metamaterials in the presence of various substrates.  相似文献

Raman, surface-enhanced Raman scattering, and shell isolated nanoparticles-enhanced Raman scattering techniques were used to study the indigo–nanoparticle interaction nature. Silver nanoparticles were employed with and without a silicon dioxide spacer inert layer. The SERS spectral profile, obtained using silver nanoparticles, is different from the Raman one, which led to the proposition that the indigo–silver interaction is in the range of intermolecular interactions. SERS spectral reproducibility suggests identical organization and orientation of the analyte on the metal surface. The shell isolated nanoparticles enhanced Raman scattering spectrum of indigo, obtained by using silicon dioxide coated silver nanoparticles resulted similar to its Raman spectrum. This result indicates that the indigo structure is chemically unmodified by the silicon dioxide-coated silver surface. From the shell-isolated nanoparticles-enhanced Raman scattering experiments, the electromagnetic mechanism is proposed as the reason for the spectral enhancement. Theoretical calculations allow one to infer both the indigo–silver surface interaction nature and the orientation of indigo on the surface.  相似文献

本文采用热蒸发法制备得到纳米Ag颗粒作为增强拉曼衬底, 利用入射光子与纳米颗粒表面价电子的相互作用机理, 激发出高能表面等离子激元, 其表面等离子形成的高能"热点"起到表面增强拉曼散射效果. 通过比较不同入射光强下的拉曼峰强, 指出纳米Ag颗粒的增强拉曼散射效果可以实现低探测光强下的高散射强度, 即纳米Ag颗粒的表面等离子激元具有非线性的表面增强拉曼散射效果, 可降低对样品的光、热损伤, 以利于拓展拉曼散射光谱的应用范围. 同时比较不同纳米Ag颗粒衬底的表面增强拉曼散射效果表明, 采用的热蒸发工艺具有较大的工艺域度, 具有较强的工艺兼容性.  相似文献

The scattering of obliquely incident electromagnetic waves by a perfectly conducting circular cylinder is analyzed. In this paper the accuracy of a high-frequency asymptotic model based on the Uniform Theory of Diffraction (UTD) is investigated by comparing UTD simulations with results obtained from the exact eigenfunction solution for plane-wave incidence.UTD results are also compared with results from experiments carried out at 50 GHz, for various cylinder radii and for different linear wave polarizations. Excellent agreement between the measurement results and the theoretical ones is obtained.  相似文献

Bidirectional ellipsometry has been developed as a technique for distinguishing among various scattering features near surfaces. The polarized angular dependence of out-of-plane light-scattering by the nanoparticles on wafer is calculated and measured according to Rayleigh limit. These calculations and measurements yield angular dependence of bidirectional ellipsometric parameters for out-of-plane scattering. The experimental data show good agreement with theoretical predictions for different diameter of nanoparticles. The results suggest that improvements for accuracy are possible to perform measurements of scattering features from nanoparticles. The angular dependence and the polarization of light scattered by nanoparticles can be used to determine the size of nanoparticulate contaminants on silicon wafers.  相似文献

We use a magnetic field to generate array of linear chains of magnetic nanoparticles in a magnetically polarizable nanofluid. The scattered patterns by these chains are described by electromagnetic wave scattering from an infinite cylinder. Comparison of the incident angle dependent scattered patterns from the linear chains of nanoparticles and macroscopic cylinders show a striking similarity. But, unlike the diffraction fringes of different orders observed on the cone of scattered light from macroscopic cylinder, the observed scattered cone from the field induced nanostructures is diffused. The observed optical patterns for micron sized cylinder are a simultaneous manifestation of both scattering and diffraction due to the interaction of light with cylindrical surfaces, whereas for nanoparticle chains it is mainly due to scattering. The diameters of the cylinders are precisely calculated from the best fit on the experimental diffraction intensity pattern. These results are important for better understanding of self assembled nanostructures for applications.  相似文献

利用纳米粒子组装制备了金基底———巯基苯胺自组装膜偶联层———金纳米粒子的“三明治”结构,研究了表面粒子密度与偶连层分子的拉曼光谱强度的关系。实验结果显示,该结构对偶连层分子的拉曼光谱有很好的增强效应,增强因子可达105。在表面粒子密度较低时,拉曼光谱强度与表面粒子密度曲线呈线形,随着表面粒子密度的增加,曲线出现负偏差并在粒子密度较高区域出现一个平台。  相似文献

利用聚苯乙烯纳米粒子有序组装结构为模板,进行了金纳米粒子的图案化组装。金纳米粒子在聚苯乙烯纳米粒子底部自组装聚集,形成规则的“面包圈”结构。表面增强拉曼光谱表明,相对于随机分布的金纳米粒子而言,金纳米粒子组装结构具有聚焦电磁场作用,从而使吸附的对巯基苯甲酸的拉曼散射得以进一步增强。  相似文献

We introduce a new numerical scheme for three-dimensional electromagnetic rough-surface scattering simulations with the capability of delivering very accurate results from low to high frequencies at a cost that is independent of the wavelength of radiation. The method is an extension of the ideas and techniques introduced in the first paper of this series (Waves in Random and Complex Media, 15 (2005), pp. 1-16) to the vector electromagnetic case, and it is based on the solution of an integral equation formulation of the scattering problem. As in the scalar case, the solution of the integral equation (i.e. the current) is expressed as a slow modulation of an oscillatory exponential of known phase, and explicit recursive formulae are derived for the successive terms in a series expansion of the slow envelope in inverse powers of the wavenumber. As we show, and in spite of the considerably more involved nature of the derivations and resulting formulae, the performance of the method retains the favourable characteristics that were demonstrated in the treatment of acoustic scattering problems. In particular, results with full double-precision accuracy are presented for various geometries, incidences and polarizations.  相似文献

The possibility of using a new composite material based on porous silicon containing silver nanoparticles and synthesized by means of a unique implantation nanotechnology as an optically sensitive material in biological and chemical sensors is tested experimentally. It is demonstrated that detection of small amounts of the studied organic substance (methyl orange dye) is possible due to the effect of surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) from the molecules affected by the local electromagnetic field of the silver nanoparticles.  相似文献

Based on the generalized Lorenz–Mie theory (GLMT) framework, an exact analytic solution to electromagnetic scattering by an eccentrically coated conducting cylinder is constructed, for oblique incidence of an on-axis Gaussian beam described by a localized beam model. The solution is found by the classical separation of variables technique and the translational addition theorem. For a tightly focused Gaussian beam propagating perpendicularly to the cylinder axis, numerical results of the normalized differential scattering cross section are presented, and the scattering characteristics are discussed concisely.  相似文献

It is of great importance for engineering applications to obtain the expression of scattering field for an ellipsoidal target irradiated by an electromagnetic wave from an arbitrary direction. Literature relevant to this problem is seldom found. In this paper, the scattering field for an ellipsoidal target is presented by utilizing the scale transformation of electromagnetic field and the rotation of coordinate system, with an electromagnetic wave projecting on the target from an arbitrary direction. The obtained result is in good agreement with the solution available from the literature if we consider the scale factors to be unity. Taking a conducting ellipsoidal target for sample, we perform the partial simulations of the ellipsoidal model and a plant leaf model by choosing different scale factors. The obtained results show that the distribution characteristic of scattering field is sensitively affected by the polarization of the incident wave and varies not much with the incident wave angle but changes with the observation point. At some points the scattering energy arrives at its maximum.  相似文献

Bismuth nanoparticles produced by laser ablation synthesis in solution (LASiS) show localized surface plasmon resonances (LSPRs). The nanoparticles show surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) activity for several tested amino acids. Optical absorption, dynamic light scattering (DLS), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) as well as Raman scattering were used to characterize the samples. The search for new biocompatible nanoparticles for diagnostic purposes is important, and the demonstration that a semimetal is capable to act as a SERS active system opens new possibilities for molecular detection.  相似文献
