In this paper we investigate the stability of linear singular systems of difference equations with variable coefficients by the projector-based approach. We study the preservation of uniform/exponential stability when the system coefficients are subject to allowable perturbations. A Bohl–Perron type theorem is obtained which provides a necessary and sufficient condition for the boundedness of solutions of nonhomogenous systems. The notion of Bohl exponent is introduced and we characterize the relation between the exponential stability and the Bohl exponent. Finally, robustness of the Bohl exponent with respect to allowable perturbations is investigated.  相似文献

This paper deals with the blow-up behavior of radial solutions to a parabolic system multi-coupled via inner sources and boundary flux. We first obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of non-simultaneous blow-up, and then find five regions of exponent parameters where both non-simultaneous and simultaneous blow-up may happen. In particular, nine simultaneous blow-up rates are established for different regions of parameters. It is interesting to observe that different initial data may lead to different simultaneous blow-up rates even with the same exponent parameters.  相似文献

We prove that if the Lyapunov exponent of the norm of the coefficient matrix of a linear differential system is nonpositive, then the supremum of Perron exponents of the solutions issuing from any given affine subspace is attained and the set of initial vectors of solutions with the maximum Perron exponent has full Lebesgue measure in the subspace.  相似文献

In this article, we provide a sufficient and necessary condition on parabolic isometries of positive translation lengths on complete visibility CAT(0) spaces. One of the consequences is that each parabolic isometry of a complete simply connected visibility manifold of nonpositive sectional curvature has zero translation length. Applications on the geometry of open negatively curved manifolds will also be discussed.  相似文献

20世纪中期以来,人们在物理、天文、气象等领域中发现了大量的混沌现象.这些新发现引发了近几十年来对混沌现象的研究.由于它的困难程度和在解决实际问题中的巨大价值,对混沌现象的研究成为动力系统乃至数学中的一个长期的前沿和热点研究方向.混沌现象最本质的特征是初值敏感性,保证有初值敏感性的一个充分条件是系统具有正Lyapunov指数.因此研究系统是否具有正Lyapunov指数成为研究系统是否出现混沌的重要方法.从拓扑角度给出了一类一维映射出现混沌现象的充分条件.从拓扑的角度来研究,将加深对此类映射出现混沌的机理的认识.研究此类映射,最重要的是研究临界点、临界点轨道及它们的相互关系.我们采用临界点的逆像建立拓扑工具,使用这一拓扑工具分析临界点轨道与临界点的复杂关系,研究临界点逆轨道的运动形态、相应开集的拓扑特征,进而导出系统出现混沌的拓扑特征及它与Lyapunov指数之间的关系.  相似文献

We first show that the closedness of the characteristic cone of the constraint system of a parametric robust linear optimization problem is a necessary and sufficient condition for each robust linear program with the finite optimal value to admit exact semidefinite linear programming relaxations. We then provide the weakest regularity condition that guarantees exact second-order cone programming relaxations for parametric robust linear programs.  相似文献

In this paper, we derive some new results on the parametric stability of nonlinear systems. Explicitly, we derive a necessary and sufficient condition for a nonlinear system to be locally parametrically exponentially stable at an equilibrium point. We also derive a necessary condition for the nonlinear system to be locally parametrically asymptotically stable at an equilibrium point. Next, we derive some new results on the parametric stability of discrete-time nonlinear systems. As in the continuous case, we derive a necessary and sufficient condition for a discrete-time nonlinear system to be locally parametrically exponentially stable at an equilibrium point. We also derive a necessary condition for the discrete-time nonlinear system to be locally parametrically asymptotically stable at an equilibrium point. We illustrate our results with some classical examples from the bifurcation theory.  相似文献

We show that under the self-conjugacy condition a McFarland difference set withp=2 andf2 in an abelian groupGcan only exist, if the exponent of the Sylow 2-subgroup does not exceed 4. The method also works for oddp(where the exponent bound ispand is necessary and sufficient), so that we obtain a unified proof of the exponent bounds for McFarland difference sets. We also correct a mistake in the proof of an exponent bound for (320, 88, 24)-difference sets in a previous paper.  相似文献

We investigate conditions under which cusps of pinched negative curvature can be closed as manifolds or orbifolds with nonpositive sectional curvature. We show that all cusps of complex hyperbolic type can be closed in this way whereas cusps of quaternionic or Cayley hyperbolic type cannot be closed. For cusps of real hyperbolic type we derive necessary and sufficient closing conditions. In this context we prove that a noncompact finite volume quotient of a rank one symmetric space can be approximated in the Gromov Hausdorff topology by closed orbifolds with nonpositive curvature if and only if it is real or complex hyperbolic. Using cusp closing methods we obtain new examples of real analytic manifolds of nonpositive sectional curvature and rank one containing flats. By the same methods we get an explicit resolution of the singularities in the Baily-Borel resp. We are concerned with delay-independent asymptotic stability of linear system of neutral differential equations. We first establish a sufficient and necessary condition for the system to be delay-independently asymptotically stable, and then give some equivalent stability conditions. This paper improves many recent results on the asymptotic stability in the literature. One example is given to show that the sufficient and necessary condition is easy to verify.  相似文献

This is a qualitative analysis of a system of two nonlinear ordinary differential equations which arises in modeling the self-oscillations of the rate of heterogeneous catalytic reaction. The kinetic model under study accounts for the influence of the reaction environment on the catalyst; namely, we consider the reaction rate constant to be an exponential function of the surface concentration of oxygen with an exponent μ. We study the necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of periodic solutions of differential equations as depending on μ. We formulate some sufficient conditions for all trajectories to converge to a steady state and study global behavior of the stable manifolds of singular saddle points.  相似文献

We study various dimensions of spaces with nonpositive curvature in the A. D. Alexandrov sense, in particular, of ?-trees. We find some conditions necessary and sufficient for the metric space to be an ?-tree and clarify relations between the topological, Hausdorff, entropy, and rough dimensions. We build the examples of ?-trees and CAT(0)-spaces in which strict inequalities between the topological, Hausdorff, and entropy dimensions hold; we also show that the Hausdorff and entropy dimensions can be arbitrarily large while the topological dimension remains fixed.  相似文献

We investigate a rate of convergence of estimates for approximations generated by Tikhonov’s scheme for solving ill-posed optimization problems with smooth functionals under a structural nonlinearity condition in a Hilbert space, in the cases of exact and noisy input data. In the noise-free case, we prove that the power source representation of the desired solution is close to a necessary and sufficient condition for the power convergence estimate having the same exponent with respect to the regularization parameter. In the presence of a noise, we give a parameter choice rule that leads for Tikhonov’s scheme to a power accuracy estimate with respect to the noise level.  相似文献
