Periodic Wavelet Frames on Local Fields of Positive Characteristic

Periodic wavelet frames have gained considerable popularity in recent years, primarily due to their substantiated applications in diverse and widespread fields of science and engineering. In this article, we introduce the concept of periodic wavelet frame on local fields of positive characteristic and show that under weaker conditions the periodization of any wavelet frame constructed by the unitary extension principle with dilation factor 𝔭^?1 is a periodic wavelet frame on local fields. Moreover, based on the mixed extension principle and Fourier-based techniques of the wavelet frames, we present an explicit method for a pair of dual periodic wavelet frames on local fields of positive characteristic.

Inequalities for Wavelet Frames

One of the fundamental problems in the study of wavelet frames is to find conditions on the wavelet function and the dilation and translation parameters so that the corresponding wavelet system forms a frame. In this article, we obtain some inequalities for a discrete wavelet system to be a frame. Our result improves known ones by Chui, Shi, and Chen.

Basic Results of Gabor Frame on Local Fields

Basic facts for Gabor frame {Eu(m)bTu(n)ag}m,n∈p on local field are investigated. Accurately, that the canonical dual of frame {Eu(m)bTu(n)ag}m,n∈p also has the Gabor structure is showed; that the product ab decides whether it is possible for {Eu(m)bTu(n)ag}m,n∈p to be a frame for L2(K) is discussed; some necessary conditions and two sufficient conditions of Gabor frame for L2(K) are established. An example is finally given.     

A Characterization of MRA Based Wavelet Frames Generated by the Walsh Polynomials

Extension Principles play a significant role in the construction of MRA based wavelet frames and have attracted much attention for their potential applications in various scientific fields. A novel and simple procedure for the construction of tight wavelet frames generated by the Walsh polynomials using Extension Principles was recently considered by Shah in [Tight wavelet frames generated by the Walsh poly-nomials, Int. J. Wavelets, Multiresolut. Inf. Process., 11(6) (2013), 1350042]. In this paper, we establish a complete characterization of tight wavelet frames generated by the Walsh polynomials in terms of the polyphase matrices formed by the polyphase components of the Walsh polynomials.

A Class of Bidimensional FMRA Wavelet Frames

This paper addresses the construction of wavelet frame from a frame multiresolution analysis （FMRA） associated with a dilation matrix of determinant ±2. The dilation matrices of determinant ±2 can be classified as six classes according to integral similarity. In this paper, for four classes of them, the construction of wavelet frame from an FMRA is obtained, and, as examples, Shannon type wavelet frames are constructed, which have an independent value for their optimality in some sense.     

Fourier Transform Over Local Fields

The Fourier transform in the space of distributions on finite-dimensional vector spaces over local fields is defined, and a strong similarity between the case of archimedian and non-archimedian fields is discussed. Furthermore, the definition of the Fourier transform for the case of “functions” on finite-dimensional vector spaces over 2-dimensional local fields is introduced. On Characterization of Nonuniform Tight Wavelet Frames on Local Fields

In this article, we introduce a notion of nonuniform wavelet frames on local fields of positive characteristic. Furthermore, we gave a complete characterization of tight nonuniform wavelet frames on local fields of positive characteristic via Fourier transform. Our results also hold for the Cantor dyadic group and the Vilenkin groups as they are local fields of positive characteristic.

Wavelet frames with irregular matrix dilations and their stability

Let , B and A_j () be real nonsingular n×n matrices, λ_k () be real numbers. In this paper we present a sufficient condition for the system to be a frame for . This sufficient condition also shows the stability of the system with respect to the perturbation of matrix dilation parameters and the perturbation of translation parameters .     

Local Convergence Behavior of Some Projection-Type Methods for Affine Variational Inequalities

In this paper, we study the local convergence behavior of four projection-type methods for the solution of the affine variational inequality (AVI) problem. It is shown that, if the sequence generated by one of the methods converges to a nondegenerate KKT point of the AVI problem, then after a finite number of iterations, some index sets in the dual variables at each iterative point coincide with the index set of the active constraints in the primal variables at the KKT point. As a consequence, we find that, after finitely many iterations, the four methods need not compute projections and their iterative equations are of reduced dimension.
