Within the minimal SU(3)C ? SU(3)L ? U(1)N model, the lepton-flavor-violating decay π+→μ?νμ e + e + is calculated without directly invoking lepton mixing. The branching ratio for this rare pion-decay mode is found to be much smaller than the current experimental upper limit. If the anomalous interactions are discarded, this result coincides with the result of the previous calculation.  相似文献

A search for narrow Θ+(1540), a candidate for a pentaquark baryon with positive strangeness, has been performed in an exclusive proton-induced reaction $p + C(N) \to \Theta ^ + \bar \kappa ^0 + C(N)$ on carbon nuclei or quasifree nucleons at $E_{beam} = 70GeV(\sqrt s = 11.5GeV)$ studying nK +, pK S 0 , and pK L 0 decay channels of Θ+(1540) in four different final states of the $\Theta ^ + \bar K^0 $ system. In order to assess the quality of the identification of the final states with neutron or K L 0 , we reconstructed Λ(1520) → nK S 0 and ?K L 0 K S 0 decays in the calibration reactions p + C(N) → Λ (1520)K ++C(N) and p+C(N) → p?+C(N). We found no evidence for a narrow pentaquark peak in any of the studied final states and decay channels. Assuming that the production characteristics of the $\Theta ^ + \bar K^0 $ system are not drastically different from those of the Λ(1520)K + and p? systems, we established upper limits on the cross-section ratios $\sigma (\Theta ^ + \bar K^0 )/\sigma (\Lambda (1520)K^ + ) < 0.02$ and $\sigma (\Theta ^ + \bar K^0 )/\sigma (p\phi ) < 0.15$ at 90% C.L. and a preliminary upper limit for the forward-hemisphere cross section $\sigma (\Theta ^ + \bar K^0 )$ nb/nucleon.  相似文献

We calculate the processes \(D_s^ + \to \pi ^ + s\bar s\) and D s + π+resonance, respectively, in the spectator and W-annihilation mechanisms. The data on the reaction D s + π+ρ0, which is due to the W-annihilation mechanism only, point to a negligibly small contribution of the W annihilation to the production of scalar-isoscalar resonances D s + +f0. As to spectator mechanism, we evaluate the \(1^3 P_0 s\bar s\) component in the resonances f0(980), f0(1300), and f0(1500) and broad state f0(1200–1600) on the basis of data on the decay ratios D s + +f0/(D s + +θ). The data point to a large \(s\bar s\) component in the \(f_0 (980):40 \lesssim s\bar s \lesssim 70\% \). Nearly 30% of the \(1^3 P_0 s\bar s\) component flows to the mass region 1300–1500 MeV, being shared by f0(1300), f0(1500), and broad state f0(1200–1600): the interference of these states results in a peak near 1400 MeV with the width around 200 MeV. Our calculations show that the yield of the radial-excitation state\(2^3 P_0 s\bar s\)is relatively suppressed, \({{\Gamma (D_s^ + \to \pi ^ + (2^3 P_0 s\bar s))} \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{\Gamma (D_s^ + \to \pi ^ + (2^3 P_0 s\bar s))} {\Gamma (D_s^ + \to \pi ^ + (1^3 P_0 s\bar s))}}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} {\Gamma (D_s^ + \to \pi ^ + (1^3 P_0 s\bar s))}} \lesssim 0.05\).  相似文献

Data on the reactionsv μ p→ μ? pπ+ and \( \bar v_\mu p \to \mu ^ + p\pi ^ - \) in the Δ(1232) region are presented and a test of the PCAC hypothesis, using a modified version of the Adler model, is performed. The analysis is based on 1081 events in the neutrino and on 180 events in the antineutrino reaction, obtained in a bubble chamber experiment with BEBC at CERN. The experimental cross-sections for an invariant hadronic massW<1.4 GeV and an (anti-)neutrino energyE v L >10 GeV are determined to be (0.628±0.059)·10?38 cm2 for the neutrino and (0.168±0.023)·10?38 cm2 for the antineutrino reaction. TheQ 2 andW distributions, the density matrix elements of the Δ resonance, and moments of the pion angular distribution are discussed. The data are found to be in good agreement with the Adler model in theQ 2 region below 1 GeV2. A maximum likelihood fit for the axial massm A in the axial-vector form factor yields a value ofm A =1.31±0.12 GeV. At lowQ 2 the data confirm the PCAC hypothesis and the discrepancy, formerly observed between the experimental and theoretical cross-sections forv μ p→ μ? pπ+ at low momentum transfers (Q 2?0.2 GeV2), is understood as being due to inadequate pion ‘off-mass-shell’ corrections.  相似文献

We have performed calculations for the nonleptonic \(\Xi _b^- \rightarrow \pi ^- \ \Xi _c^0 (2790) \left( J=\frac{1}{2}\right) \) and \(\Xi _b^- \rightarrow \pi ^- \ \Xi _c^0 (2815) \left( J=\frac{3}{2}\right) \) decays and the same reactions replacing the \(\pi ^-\) by a \(D_s^-\). At the same time we have also evaluated the semileptonic rates for \(\Xi _b^- \rightarrow \bar{\nu }_l l \ \Xi _c^0 (2790)\) and \(\Xi _b^- \rightarrow \bar{\nu }_l l \ \Xi _c^0 (2815)\). We look at the reactions from the perspective that the \(\Xi _c^0 (2790)\) and \(\Xi _c^0 (2815)\) resonances are dynamically generated from the pseudoscalar–baryon and vector–baryon interactions. We evaluate ratios of the rates of these reactions and make predictions that can be tested in future experiments. We also find that the results are rather sensitive to the coupling of the \(\Xi _c^*\) resonances to the \(D^* \Sigma \) and \(D^* \Lambda \) components.  相似文献

Using the Dyson-Schwinger equation, the four-fermion Green functions in one-loop approximation to the SU(2)L U(1) four-fermion model are found, as well as corrections to them. An expression is obtained for the collective field propagator in the one-loop approximation, and its regularization is performed. In the model under consideration, collective excitations are identified with a massless Goldstone field and a massive scalar field. It is shown that as a result of the reconstruction of the vacuum, one fermion (the analog of the neutrino) is massless, while the other (the analog of the electron), massive.Translated from Izvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii, Fizika, No. 1, pp. 19–23, January, 1984.  相似文献

Electroweak and horizontal interactions are unified with the groupSU(6) L U(1) Y for three generations. The horizontal gauge group suggested from low energy phenomenology isSU(2) H . This model does not contain exotic quarks, but exotic leptons are needed in order to make it anomaly-free. The breaking of the symmetry gives, in a natural way, heavy masses for exotic leptons and a BCS mass matrix for the up quarks, which implies that at tree level only the top quark gets a mass of orderM W . The see-saw mechanism generates tiny masses for the three known neutrinos. The remaining of the known fermion masses are light, because they can be generated only as radiative corrections.  相似文献

We study the \(\chi _{c1} \rightarrow \eta \pi ^+ \pi ^-\) decay, paying attention to the production of \(f_0(500)\), \(f_0(980)\), and \(a_0(980)\) from the final state interaction of pairs of mesons that can lead to these three mesons in the final state, which is implemented using the chiral unitary approach. Very clean and strong signals are obtained for the \(a_0(980)\) excitation in the \(\eta \pi \) invariant mass distribution and for the \(f_0(500)\) in the \(\pi ^+ \pi ^-\) mass distribution. A smaller, but also clear signal for the \(f_0(980)\) excitation is obtained. The results are contrasted with experimental data and the agreement found is good, providing yet one more test in support of the picture where these resonances are dynamically generated from the meson–meson interaction.  相似文献

K L(S) 0 →π0?+??. The rare decaysK L(S) 0 →π0?+??(?=e or μ) are investigated in the Quark Confinement Model (QCM), a relativistic quark model, based on some assumptions about hadronization and quark confinement. Using the effective electroweak Lagrangian (with QCD corrections), proposed by Gilman and Wise, the matrix elements of kaon transitions to a pion and lepton pair are calculated. The obtained results for the decay widths are in agreement with the experimental data for upper limits on branching ratios and the theoretical predictions calculated by effective chiral Lagrangian method.  相似文献

We investigate the possibility of explaining the enhancement in semileptonic decays of \({\bar{B}} \rightarrow D^{(*)} \tau {\bar{\nu }}\), the anomalies induced by \(b\rightarrow s\mu ^+\mu ^-\) in \({\bar{B}}\rightarrow (K, K^*, \phi )\mu ^+\mu ^-\) and violation of lepton universality in \(R_K = \mathrm{Br}({\bar{B}}\rightarrow K \mu ^+\mu ^-)/\mathrm{Br}({\bar{B}}\rightarrow K e^+e^-)\) within the framework of R-parity violating MSSM. The exchange of down type right-handed squark coupled to quarks and leptons yields interactions which are similar to leptoquark induced interactions that have been proposed to explain the \({\bar{B}} \rightarrow D^{(*)} \tau {\bar{\nu }}\) by tree level interactions and \(b\rightarrow s \mu ^+\mu ^-\) anomalies by loop induced interactions, simultaneously. However, the Yukawa couplings in such theories have severe constraints from other rare processes in B and D decays. Although this interaction can provide a viable solution to the \(R(D^{(*)})\) anomaly, we show that with the severe constraint from \({\bar{B}} \rightarrow K \nu {\bar{\nu }}\), it is impossible to solve the anomalies in the \(b\rightarrow s \mu ^+\mu ^-\) process simultaneously.  相似文献

There is a large discrepancy between results of Crystal Barrel and WA102 for the branching ratio R=BR[η 2(1870)→a 2(1320)π]/BR[η 2(1870)→f 2(1270)η]. An extensive re-analysis of the Crystal Barrel data redetermines branching ratios for decays of η 2(1870), η 2(1645), η 2(2030) and f 2(1910). This re-analysis confirms a small value for R of 1.60±0.39, inconsistent with the value 20.4±6.6 of WA102. The likely origin of the discrepancy is that the WA102 data contain a strong f 2(1910)→a 2 π signal as well as η 2(1870). There is strong evidence that the η 2(1870) has resonant phase variation. A peak in f 2(1270)a 0(980) confirms closely the parameters of the a 2(2255) resonance observed previously. A peak in η 2(2030)π is interpreted naturally in terms of π 2(2245) with reduced errors for mass and width M=2285±20(stat)±25(syst) MeV, Γ=250±20(stat)±25(syst) MeV.  相似文献

The spin density matrix of the \(\omega \) has been determined for the reaction \({\bar{p}p}\,\rightarrow \,\omega \pi ^0\) with unpolarized in-flight data measured by the Crystal Barrel LEAR experiment at CERN. The two main decay modes of the \(\omega \) into \(\pi ^0 \gamma \) and \(\pi ^+ \pi ^- \pi ^0\) have been separately analyzed for various \({\bar{p}}\)momenta between 600 and 1940 MeV/c. The results obtained with the usual method by extracting the matrix elements via the \(\omega \) decay angular distributions and with the more sophisticated method via a full partial wave analysis are in good agreement. A strong spin alignment of the \(\omega \) is clearly visible in this energy regime and all individual spin density matrix elements exhibit an oscillatory dependence on the production angle. In addition, the largest contributing orbital angular momentum of the \({\bar{p}p~}\)system has been identified for the different beam momenta. It increases from \(L^{max}_{{\bar{p}p~}}\) \(=\) 2 at 600 MeV/c to \(L^{max}_{{\bar{p}p~}}\) \(=\) 5 at 1940 MeV/c.  相似文献

We construct aSO(10) model with intermediate symmetry $$SU(3) \otimes SU(2)_L \otimes SU(2)_R \otimes U(1)_{B - L} \otimes D$$ and baryon and lepton number conserved between the two highest scales. The experimental values of sin2θ w and α s are consistent with the lower bound on τpe +0 and with a mass value forv τ around 1 eV.  相似文献

We study the contributions of nonstandard neutrino interactions (NSI) to the rare decays of pseudoscalar mesons involving neutrinos in the final state \({B^0} \to {\pi ^0}\bar vv\), \(B_c^ - \to {D^ - }\bar vv\) and \(\bar B_s^0 \to {\bar K^0}\bar vv\), It is pointed that dominant contribution comes from the interference between standard model and nonstandard interaction We predict limits on NSIs free parameter ε uL ττ and compare them with experimental data. We further compare our results with perturbative QCD (pQCD) and QCD results for these reactions.  相似文献

A SU(2) effective Lagrangian is extended to a SU L(3) ⊗SU R(3) by including the vector and axial vector meson. With this effective Lagrangian, electromagnetic form factors of charged pion and kaon are calculated in both time- and space-like regions. The pseudoscalar meson loops are taken into account. Good agreement with experimental data is obtained for those form factors and charged pseudoscalar meson radii. Decay widths of ρ→ππ and φ→K + K - are also calculated and shown to agree with experimental data very well. Received: 20 December 1999 / Accepted: 12 October 2000  相似文献

Small deviations from the standard model may exist in the hadronic and leptonic cross sections at KEK. We explore the possibility that these may be accounted for by the extra gauge bosonsZ andW in theSP(6) L U(1) Y model, with its parameters constrained by the LEP data.  相似文献

It is shown that during low-temperature (300–500 K) intercalation of sodium atoms into thin multilayer graphene and graphite films on rhenium the first graphene layer plays the role of a trap to which atoms coming on the surface diffuse through a graphite film. The intercalation phase of the interlayer space in the graphite bulk is actively filled at a sodium atoms concentration under the first graphene layer close to the maximum possible (2 ± 0.5) × 1014 cm–2. This phase capacity is proportional to the graphite film thickness that can be varied in this work from one graphene layer to ~50 atomic layers. The diffusion energy E d of Na atoms through the graphite film was estimated to be E d ≈ 1.4 eV.

The production ofK * resonances has been studied in the reaction \(K^ - p \to \bar K^0 \pi ^ - p\) at 8.25 GeV/c. The data comes from a high statistics bubble chamber experiment (180 events/μb). Masses, widths and production cross-sections have been determined for the first threeK *'s. The contributions from natural and unnatural parity exchange have been obtained for theK *(890) and theK *(1420). A partial wave analysis of theK π system from threshold to 1.9 GeV provides evidence for a 0+ enhancement near 1.4 GeV which could be interpreted as the κ(1350).  相似文献
