光脉冲在标准单模光纤中演化形成孤子的实验研究   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3

利用二次谐波频率分辨光学门脉冲分析仪从实验上分析研究了具有啁啾的10 GHz光脉冲在不同输入功率下演化形成孤子的规律和特点。实验发现:输入脉冲在光纤中传输3.5个色散长度时,其时间宽度、频率啁啾和时间带宽积都随着输入功率的增加而减小。当输入功率大于一阶孤子功率的理论值时,光脉冲能够演化形成孤子;脉冲在随后传输过程中其宽度基本保持不变,波形、频率啁啾和时间带宽积仍随着传输距离的变化而变化;输入功率越高,形成的一阶孤子脉冲的宽度越窄。当输入功率小于一阶孤子功率的理论值时,输出脉冲的时间宽度随着传输距离的增加而增加,频率啁啾随着传输距离的增加而减小,光脉冲不能演化形成孤子。  相似文献

Using a variational method, we have investigated the propagation characteristics of a chirped optical pulse in anomalously dispersive media possessing saturating nonlinearity. For the special case of uniform loss less media, the dynamics of the temporal width of the pulse is shown to be equivalent to an oscillator of unit mass which is executing its motion under some effective potential well. The potential is examined and four different types of behavior of the pulse width are noticed. The role of saturation parameter and the initial chirp in determining the propagation characteristics have been examined. It is found that, both high value of chirp and saturation are detrimental to stable pulse propagation. Particularly, the effect of chirp becomes severe with the increase in the value of saturation. We have shown that incorporation of saturation in the nonlinearity leads to the existence of bistable soliton. For the case of a lossy medium, net broadening of width takes place over many cycles of oscillation. The net broadening decreases with the increase in the value of saturation.  相似文献

Based on the computation approaches of numerical analysis in electromagnetic, the nonlinear pulse propagation in optical fiber is investigated in this paper. The transforming rule of the shape and spectrum of Gauss pulse are also researched in chirped and non-chirped scenarios from the nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLSE). Analyzing the transient wave behavior in time domain and frequency domain respectively, the compression effect of chirp is also presented at different propagation distance. Then by the nonlinear Schrödinger equation, we discuss a specific solution in the quasi soliton without distortion, which has the stable propagation properly, and do the numerical simulation in soliton wave. Finally, by selecting proper fiber structure parameters and adjusting the width in soliton pulse, the soliton communication system can be optimized.  相似文献

In this paper, we have investigated the performance of first- and second-order path-averaged soliton long-haul transmission link including the impact of third-order dispersion (TOD) at varied chirp. Here, the varied chirp is considered keeping in view the inadvertent frequency chirp imposed on all practical sources of short optical pulses. The propagation of strongly chirped pulses in loss-managed long-haul path-averaged soliton transmission network has been shown. The investigations reveal that in first-order (N=1) path-averaged soliton transmission link at 10 and 20 Gb/s, SPM effect on the rising and falling edges of a pulse results in spectral broadening for all values of induced chirp. On the contrary, spectral narrowing of the pulses is observed in second-order negatively chirped path-averaged soliton pulses. The effect of the nonlinearity changes from narrowing to broadening of pulses if the sign of the initial chirp is changed to positive. The results ascertain that the system is capable of transmitting a pulse up to the distance of 24,500 km at bit rates of 10 and 20 Gb/s. Investigations have been carried out by varying the chirp factor in the range −1 to 1 and −1 to 0.4] for 10 and 20 Gb/s, respectively, to demonstrate the robustness of the long-haul soliton link. The observations establish that the pulse width (full-width at half-maximum (FWHM)) remains within the optimal range even at the transmission distance of 24,500 km without and at discrete values of the chirp factor.  相似文献

提出采用凸形色散平坦光纤(DFF-CVDP)传输亚皮秒啁啾孤子,利用分步傅里叶方法数值研究了亚皮秒啁啾孤子在DFF-CVDP中的传输特性,并与在线性色散平坦光纤(DFF-LDP)中的传输特性做了比较。结果表明,孤子脉冲在上述两种光纤中传输时,光纤损耗导致了孤子脉冲宽度随传输距离增加稍有展宽,脉冲方均根谱宽随传输距离增加逐渐减小。在DFF-LDP中,脉冲展宽更快,正啁啾对脉冲展宽的影响比负啁啾的影响更大,正啁啾对应的方均根光谱比其他情况下的宽得多。啁啾脉冲时域宽度随传输距离增加出现了衰减振荡,振荡周期和振幅随啁啾参量|C|的增加而增大。光孤子脉冲在两种光纤中传输时域波形保持不变,仍具有孤子特性。在DFF-LDP中,3β使得脉冲光谱红移从而诱导了脉冲时延,负啁啾减弱了3β的作用,正啁啾加强了β3的影响。在DFF-CVDP中传输可以忽略3β的影响。  相似文献

由于光孤子在光纤中传输受到啁啾效应等多种因素的影响 ,使孤子脉宽展宽 ,光脉冲在终端变得不可检测 ,严重影响误码率 ,所以研究不同因素对孤子脉宽的影响有其重要意义。本文求解了色散缓变光纤中含频率非线性啁啾效应的NLS方程 ,由得到的孤子解讨论了非线性啁啾效应和色散缓变效应对孤子脉宽的影响 ,由此说明 ,色散缓减效应等效长距离分布参数光纤放大器的增益 ,它导致非线性效应增加 ,孤子进一步被压缩 ,非线性啁啾效应使孤子在z值较小时 ,其脉宽收缩 ,在z值较大时又使孤子脉宽展宽。  相似文献

In this paper, the linear propagation characteristics of the exponential optical pulse with initial linear and nonlinear frequency chirp are numerically studied in a single mode fibre for \be2<0. It can be found that the temporal full width at half maximum and time-bandwidth product of exponential pulse monotonically increase with the increase of propagation distance and decrease with the increase of linear chirp C for C<0.5, go through an initial decreasing stage near \zeta=1, then increase with the increase of propagation distance and linear chirp C for C\geq0.5. The broadening of pulses with negative chirp is faster than that with positive chirp. The exponential pulse with linear chirp gradually evolves into a near-Gaussian pulse. The effect of nonlinear chirp on waveform of the pulse is much greater than that of linear chirp. The temporal waveform breaking of exponential pulse with nonlinear chirp is first observed in linear propagation. Furthermore, the expressions of the spectral width and time-bandwidth product of the exponential optical pulse with the frequency chirp are given by use of the numerical analysis method.  相似文献

The evolution feature of the injected initial-chirp tanh-dark soliton in single-mode fiber is studied in this paper. We analyze the evolution of amplitude, pulse width, frequency chirp and center position shift of dark soliton along with the variation of propagation distance, primarily using Lagrange-Euler's formula and taking the high-order dispersion as perturbation. The results show that the amplitude and pulse width of chirp-dark soliton are all oscillating around a certain critical distance in ideal fiber (β = 0), and the high-order dispersion conduces to generate the asymptotic dark soliton.  相似文献

基于在正常色散区的变系数非线性薛定谔方程,考虑一个带有微扰的参数渐减光纤系统,并利用数值模拟方法,对超高斯型有限宽度背景波和有限宽度背景中啁啾灰孤子的传输进行详细地研究.结果表明,超高斯背景波可以在带有微扰的参数渐减光纤系统中不受负载啁啾灰孤子的影响而稳定传输.当取背景波脉宽与啁啾孤子的初始脉宽比例大于或等于50时,有限宽度背景中啁啾灰孤子的数值结果基本与精确解相吻合.即使选取的背景波脉宽不宽,有限宽度背景中的啁啾灰脉冲仍可以很好的保持其孤子性质.  相似文献

采用复数波数定义和衍射积分方法,研究了啁啾高斯脉冲在增益色散介质中的传输特性,给出了介质增益谱为洛仑兹分布时的频谱分布以及时空分布的传输解析公式,详细分析了传输过程中光场的频谱和时空分布、脉宽和频谱变化以及谱移等特性。结果表明,啁啾高斯光束在介质中传输时其时间波形仍保持高斯分布不变,但在传输过程中其脉宽会发生变化。在传输过程中,啁啾参量会影响谱宽的减小程度以及谱移的幅度。啁啾参量越大,脉宽展宽和谱宽压窄的效果越明显,同时,随着传输距离的增大,光谱谱移也越明显。对于给定的啁啾参量,随着传输距离的增大,谱移将最终趋于一恒定值。  相似文献

We investigate the propagation dynamics of nonlinear chirped optical laser pulses in a two-level medium. For certain chirp strength and chirp width, an incident 2π nonlinear chirped pulse will split into optical precursors and a stable self-induced transparency soliton. This is caused by the particular Fourier spectrum that includes not only central resonant frequency components but also high-frequency and low-frequency sidebands. Moreover, the effects of chirp parameters on the evolution of nonlinear chirped pulses are also discussed.  相似文献

The collision characteristics of the orthogonally polarized solitons with initial linear frequency chirp in the linear birefringent fibre for \beta 2<0 are numerically studied. It is found that initial chirp changes the threshold value of solitons to form the bound-state in the birefringent fibre. The effect of initial positive chirp on the threshold value is more obvious than that of negative chirp. In the case of \delta = 0.7 and initial interval 2\tau0 = 1.25, the two solitons are mutually bound for 0.2 \le C \le 1, and they do not form the bound-state for -1 \le C<0.2. Frequency shifts increase with the increase of chirp parameter C for -1 \le C<0.2, and have the oscillatory structure for C \ge 0.2. The effect of positive chirp on temporal FWHM is greater than that of negative chirp. The peak of temporal waveform oscillates with the propagation distance. The period and amplitude of the oscillation for the chirped case are greater than those for the unchirped case, and they vary with the increase of | C| . The peak of output temporal waveform can be controlled by changing the initial chirp.  相似文献

本文基于变系数的非线性薛定谔方程,数值地讨论高峰值脉冲在色散渐减光纤中的激发和传输。首先,基于变系数非线性薛定谔方程的Peregrine孤子解,解析和数值地讨论精确的Peregrine孤子在色散渐减光纤中的传输特性。其次,通过输入不同的平面波背景上的局域脉冲,研究高峰值脉冲在非线性色散渐减光纤中的激发和传输。结果显示Peregrine孤子在色散渐减光纤中传输时,会产生一个空间和时间都局域化的高峰值单脉冲,并且当啁啾为负时,脉冲的幅值增加,脉宽被压缩。若光纤系统存在增益,脉冲的幅值也会增加。由于非线性光纤中的调制不稳定性过程,不同平面波背景上的小局部扰动都可激发出高峰值脉冲,除了峰值和宽度略有不同外,激发脉冲的形状几乎相同。  相似文献

 研究了啁啾堆积脉冲的时间精细结构与子脉冲带宽、相位、啁啾量等因素的关系。结果表明:随着子脉冲带宽的微小变化,啁啾堆积脉冲的峰值功率为相同输出能力窄带脉冲功率的1.5~3.0倍;当子脉冲间存在着随机相位扰动时,啁啾堆积的峰值功率约为相同输出能力窄带脉冲功率的3倍。建立了啁啾堆积脉冲的时空非线性传输放大模型,模拟得到堆积脉冲传输过程中的非线性增长因子,并与相同能量的窄带脉冲进行了比较,揭示了啁啾堆积脉冲在高功率激光装置中的传输放大过程中出现的一些新现象以及可能导致的后果。  相似文献

A chirped laser pulse indicates that the laser frequency changes over the duration of the pulse: a positively (negatively) chirped pulse implies that the laser frequency increases (decreases) with time. In this paper, we use a simplified, fully relativistic hydrodynamic approach to simulate the influence of chirp on the propagation of a femtosecond relativistic laser pulse in underdense plasma. Based on this simplified cold‐fluid model, the influence of chirp on the main dynamics of the laser pulse, such as self‐steepening, red‐shift in the leading edge, variation of the frequency chirp, and the generated wakefields can be studied self‐consistently. The simulation results show that a pulse with a positive chirp results in a larger increment in the intensity parameter a0 when propagating a certain distance into an underdense plasma compared with an un‐chirped and a negatively chirped pulse, which is largely because of a much greater forward shift of the peak amplitude and more severe pulse self‐steepening effect due to the frequency red‐shift at the leading edge when exciting a plasma wave. The ponderomotive force, which relates to the first‐order differential of the laser pulse intensity envelope, is expected to be stronger for a positively chirped pulse because of its steeper leading edge and larger intensity parameter a0. As a result, the wakefield driven by the positively chirped laser pulse is more intense than that driven by an un‐chirped and a negatively chirped laser pulse, which is confirmed by our self‐consistent hydrodynamic simulation.  相似文献

 根据啁啾脉冲堆积的原理以及模型介绍了两路脉冲堆积时脉冲的时间与频谱特性,分析了堆积脉冲产生时间与频谱调制,以及交叠区产生非线性频率啁啾的原因。通过非线性薛定谔方程,分析了堆积脉冲的放大特性,介绍了啁啾参量对放大结果的影响以及放大后堆积脉冲的频率啁啾的变化。研究表明,在堆积脉冲的放大过程中自相位调制效应非常明显,严重影响了脉冲的频谱与频率啁啾。  相似文献

We consider the nonlinear process of propagation of a short chirp optical pulse in a light guide in which the refractive index of a fiber material strongly depends on the radial coordinate and weakly depends on the longitudinal coordinates. The chirped and strongly chirped pulses are distinguished by the relationship between the modulation depth and the spectrum width. The chirp-pulse propagation is simulated by a nonlinear wave equation solved asymptotically with respect to the small parameter prescribing the order of magnitude of the pulse amplitude. It is shown that the pulse propagation is three-scale. The phase of high-frequency filling and the field distribution in the fiber cross section are obtained as the eigenvalue and eigenfunction of a singular Sturm-Liouville problem, respectively. On the additional assumption of longitudinal inhomogeneity of the fiber, the general equation for the pulse envelope is reduced to the second Painlevé equation. 采用分步傅里叶方法数值研究了初始线性啁啾和非线性啁啾双曲正割光脉冲在单模光纤反常色散区的线性传输特性,并与啁啾高斯脉冲的线性传输特性作了比较.给出了双曲正割光脉冲频谱宽度和时间带宽积随初始线性啁啾变化的表达式.结果表明,双曲正割脉冲在线性啁啾|C|>0.1时随传输距离的增加逐渐演化成近高斯型,在0≤|C|≤0.1时最后将演化为近双曲正割脉冲.|C|越小,脉冲时域波形越趋近双曲正割曲线.负啁啾对脉冲时域展宽的影响比正啁啾要大得多.当|C|≥0.5时,初始啁啾对双曲正割光脉冲展宽的影响比对高斯脉冲的影响更大.非线性啁啾双曲正割光脉冲在线性传输过程中会出现时域波形分裂现象,比具有相同啁啾的高斯脉冲时域波形分裂严重. 关键词: 频率啁啾 双曲正割光脉冲 线性传输 时域波形分裂  相似文献
