Ultrafast photoelectric characteristic has been observed in La0.67Ca0.33MnO3 films on tilted SrTiO3 substrates. A pico-second (ps) open-circuit photovoltage of the perovskite manganese oxide films has been obtained when the films were irradiated by a 1.064μm laser pulse of 25 ps duration. The rise time and full width at half-maximum of the photovoltage pulse are ~300 ps and ~700 ps, respectively. The photovoltaic sensitivity was as large as ~500 mV/mJ.  相似文献

La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (LSMO) manganite thin films were grown by pulsed plasma deposition on silicon (Si) and gallium arsenide (GaAs) substrates covered by an amorphous oxide. Manganite films are characterized by polycrystalline structure. Ferromagnetic transition is above room temperature and for 50 nm thick film the Curie temperature was as high as 325 K and 305 K for LSMO/SiOx/Si and LSMO/AlOx/GaAs, respectively.  相似文献

We have investigated the effect of B-site dopant on magnetic entropy change in perovskite manganite samples of La0.65Nd0.05Ca0.3MnO3, La0.65Nd0.05Ca0.3Mn0.9Cr0.1O3, and La0.65Nd0.05Ca0.3Mn0.9Fe0.1O3 prepared by sol–gel technique. The maximum ΔSH is in the order of −1.68 J/kg K and peaks at Curie temperature for La0.65Nd0.05Ca0.3MnO3 upon 10 kOe applied field change. For the sample with B-site dopant, a decrement of the maximum magnetic entropy change has been observed.  相似文献

With Nd3+ doping and Ca2+, Sr2+ modulating in the sol–gel technique, a series of polycrystalline perovskite samples La0.7?xNdx(Ca,Sr)0.3MnO3 (x = 0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.15, 0.20, 0.25) was prepared, their maximum magnetic entropy changes were tuned to room temperature (ΔSH = ?1.47 J/kg K at 298 k for La0.45Nd0.25(Ca,Sr)0.3MnO3), an enhancement of the maximum magnetic entropy change (ΔSH = ?1.89 J/kg K at 315 k) and its refrigerant capacity (about 45.3 J/kg) had also been obtained under 9 kOe magnetic field variation for La0.55Nd0.15(Ca,Sr)0.3MnO3 contrast to La0.7(Ca,Sr)0.3MnO3.  相似文献

X-band electron magnetic resonance method was explored for study of sonochemically prepared nano-powders of La-based doped manganites: La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 and La0.9Ca0.1MnO3 at 115  T  600 K temperature interval, including main characteristic points of its magnetic transitions. The data obtained were compared with those for crushed bulk single crystals of the same compositions. It is shown that nano-powder of La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 has the same ferromagnetic ordering as its bulk counterpart, being more homogeneous and less anisotropic. While, nano-powder of La0.9Ca0.1MnO3 shows two distinct ferromagnetic phases in a marked contrast to the bulk sample, where complex magnetic structure comprising canted antiferromagnetic matrix and ferromagnetic clusters is observed. To explain the observed phenomena, the crucial role of nano-scale grain size and its interplay with spin and charge degrees of freedom in considered systems are discussed.  相似文献

Magnetization measurements of a La1/3Nd1/3Ca1/3MnO3 perovskite at magnetic field up to 6 T have revealed an anomalous behaviour – above 130 K the material exhibits a loop displacement about a field of 2 T. We assume that this is the result of an exchange interaction between ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic phases in a magnetically inhomogeneous compound. At about 115 K a transition from a semiconducting to a metallic-like state has been observed.  相似文献

Ultrafast pulsed laser ablation has been investigated as a technique to machine CdWO4 single crystal scintillator and segment it into small blocks with the aim of fabricating a 2D high energy X-ray imaging array. Cadmium tungstate (CdWO4) is a brittle transparent scintillator used for the detection of high energy X-rays and γ-rays. A 6 W Yb:KGW Pharos-SP pulsed laser of wavelength 1028 nm was used with a tuneable pulse duration of 10 ps to 190 fs, repetition rate of up to 600 kHz and pulse energies of up to 1 mJ was employed. The effect of varying the pulse duration, pulse energy, pulse overlap and scan pattern on the laser induced damage to the crystals was investigated. A pulse duration of ≥500 fs was found to induce substantial cracking in the material. The laser induced damage was minimised using the following operating parameters: a pulse duration of 190 fs, fluence of 15.3 J cm−2 and employing a serpentine scan pattern with a normalised pulse overlap of 0.8. The surface of the ablated surfaces was studied using scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Ablation products were found to contain cadmium tungstate together with different cadmium and tungsten oxides. These laser ablation products could be removed using an ammonium hydroxide treatment.  相似文献

The structural and magnetic ordering in La0.6Ca0.4MnO3 has been studied by neutron powder diffraction as a function of temperature between 15 and 300 K. The para-ferromagnetic transition at T∼250 K is accompanied by significant structural distortions in the form of octahedral Mn–O6 rotations. At 15 K, the total refined ferromagnetic moment on the Mn site was obtained as 3.1 μB, in reasonable agreement with the total expected average moment of mixed Mn3+/Mn4+ matrix.  相似文献

Among the perovskite manganites, a series of La1?xCaxMnO3 has the largest magneto-caloric effect (MCE) (|ΔSm|max=3.2–6.7 J/kg K at ΔH=13.5 kOe), but the Curie temperatures, TC, are quite low (165–270 K). The system of LaSrMnO3 has quite high TC but its MCE is not so large. The manganites La0.7(Ca1?xSrx)0.3MnO3 (x=0, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20, 0.25) have been prepared by solid state reaction technique with an expectation of large MCE at room temperature region. The samples are of single phase with orthorhombic structure. The lattice parameters as well as the volume of unit cell are continuously increased with the increase of x due to large Sr2+ ions substituted for smaller Ca2+ ions. The field-cooled (FC) and zero-field-cooled (ZFC) thermomagnetic measurements at low field and low temperatures indicate that there is a spin-glass like (or cluster glass) state occurred. The Curie temperature TC increases continuously from 258 K (for x=0) to 293 K (for x=0.25). A large MCE of 5 J/kg K has been observed around 293 K at the magnetic field change ΔH=13.5 kOe for the sample x=0.25. The studied samples can be considered as giant magneto-caloric materials, which is an excellent candidate for magnetic refrigeration at room temperature region.  相似文献

Photoelectron spectroscopy of isolated atoms and molecules using single-order high-harmonics of Ti:Sapphire laser pulses (800 nm, 12 fs/30 fs) is demonstrated. Dielectric multilayer mirrors, SiC/Mg and Mo/Si, are used to isolate the 27th (42 eV) and 59th (91 eV) order harmonics, respectively. The obtained harmonics are characterized by valence and inner-shell photoelectron spectroscopy of Xe. The applications to two-color two-photon ionization of He and pump-probe spectroscopy of ultrafast photodissociation of Br2, Br2(C1Πu)  Br(2P3/2) + Br(2P3/2), are presented.  相似文献

In this paper we report an analytical modeling of N+-InP/n0-In0.53Ga0.47As/p+-In0.53Ga0.47As p-i-n photodetector for optical fiber communication. The results obtained on the basis of our model have been compared and contrasted with the simulated results using ATLAS? and experimental results reported by others. The photodetector has been studied in respect of energy band diagram, electric field profile, doping profile, dark current, resistance area-product, quantum efficiency, spectral response, responsivity and detectivity by analytical method using closed form equations and also been simulated by using device simulation software ATLAS? from SILVACO® international. The photodetector exhibits a high quantum efficiency ~90%, responsivity ~1.152–1.2 A/W in the same order as reported experimentally by others, specific detectivity ~5 × 109 cm Hz1/2 W?1at wavelength 1.55–1.65 μm, dark current of the order of 10?11 A at reverse bias of 1.5 V and 10?13–10?12 A near zero bias. These values are comparable to those obtained for practical p-i-n detectors. The estimated noise equivalent power (NEP) is of the order of 2.5 × 10?14 W.  相似文献

We report in this work, study on colossal magnetoresistance (CMR) effect in epitaxial La2/3Ca1/3 MnO3 thin films grown on SrTiO3 (0 0 1) substrates by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique. The films were grown on as-received SrTiO3 substrates and on SrTiO3 substrates prepared by HF etching (Koster et al., Appl. Phys. Lett. 73 (1998) 2920; V. Leca et al., Wet etching methods for perovskite substrates, University of Twente, MESA+ Research Institute, Low Temperature Division). Two of the samples were annealed in different conditions to investigate the films heat treatment effect on electric and magnetic properties. Electrical resistance was done using the four-probe method at temperatures in the range of 2–375 K without a magnetic field and in an external field of 5 T applied in the film plane. Resistance-magnetic field (R vs. H) at 77 K for the two annealed samples was done in a 5 T sweep magnetic field. The surface morphology and structural information of the films were obtained using atomic force microscopy (AFM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD), respectively. Secondary ion mass spectroscopy (SIMS) analysis was performed on the annealed samples to investigate any possible chemical reaction between La2/3Ca1/3MnO3 thin films and SrTiO3 substrate.  相似文献

The Hebb–Wagner polarization method with the electron blocking electrode has been discussed in this paper in aim to determine a partial ionic conductivity of Sr-doped lanthanum manganite. The “limiting current” in the proposed system was measured using the two-point DC technique with additional Pt electrode between LSM and blocking electrode. The electrochemical model based on bulk diffusion processes and Boltzmann statistics has been also described. The ionic conductivity calculated with the use of proposed model for La0.7Sr0.3MnO3+δ was 5.3×10−4 S cm−1 at 800 °C and the activation energy of ionic conductivity was found to be (0.60±0.02) eV. This result is in agreement with previous literature reports and indicates the workability of the modified Hebb–Wagner system.  相似文献

The present investigation describes the addition of iron (Fe) in order to improve the supercapacitive properties of MnO2 electrodes using galvanostatic mode. These amorphous worm like Fe: MnO2 electrodes are characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDAX), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and wettability test. The supercapacitive properties of MnO2 and Fe: MnO2 electrodes are investigated using cyclic voltammetry, chronopotentiometry and impedance techniques. It is seen that the supercapacitance increases with increase in Fe doping concentration and achieved a maximum of 173 F g?1 at 2 at% Fe doping. The maximum supercapacitance obtained is 218 F g?1 for 2 at% Fe: MnO2 electrode. This hydrous binary oxide exhibited ideal capacitive behavior with high reversibility and high pulse charge–discharge property between ?0.1 and +0.9 V/SCE in 1 M Na2SO4 electrolyte indicating a promising electrode material for electrochemical supercapacitors.  相似文献

Free electron lasers (FEL) are new generation accelerator-based short wavelength light sources providing high pulse intensity and femtosecond pulse duration, which enable investigation of interaction of elementary excitations in solids under extreme conditions. Using the FLASH facility of HASYLAB at DESY (Hamburg, Germany), we investigated the response of different materials with scintillating properties based on intrinsic emissions to the 25.6 and 13.8 nm FEL radiation by means of time-resolved luminescence spectroscopy. FLASH delivered single pulses of 25 fs duration having energy per pulse up to 30 μJ resulting in power densities of ~1012 W/cm2 on crystals. As a function of excitation density we observed the shortening of lifetime and non-exponential behaviour of emission decays in CaWO4, while the emission spectra recorded are comparable to those obtained at conventional excitation sources.  相似文献

The performance of manganite-based magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) has suffered from reduced magnetization present at the junction interfaces that is ultimately responsible for the spin polarization of injected currents; this behavior has been attributed to a magnetic “dead layer” that typically extends a few unit cells into the manganite. X-ray magnetic scattering in resonant conditions (XRMS) is one of the most innovative and effective techniques to extract surface or interfacial magnetization profiles with subnanometer resolution, and has only recently been applied to oxide heterostructures. Here we present our approach to characterizing the surface and interfacial magnetization of such heterostructures using the XRMS technique, conducted at the BEAR beamline (Elettra synchrotron, Trieste). Measurements were carried out in specular reflectivity geometry, switching the left/right elliptical polarization of light as well as the magnetization direction in the scattering plane. Spectra were collected across the Mn L2,3 edge for at least four different grazing angles to better analyse the interference phenomena. The resulting reflectivity spectra have been carefully fit to obtain the magnetization profiles, minimizing the number of free parameters as much as possible. Optical constants of the samples (real and imaginary part of the refractive index) in the interested frequency range are obtained through absorption measurements in two magnetization states and subsequent Kramers–Krönig transformation, allowing quantitative fits of the magnetization profile at different temperatures. We apply this method to the study of air-exposed surfaces of epitaxial La2/3Sr1/3MnO3 (0 0 1) films grown on SrTiO3 (0 0 1) substrates.  相似文献

A comparative investigation of the much-studied La2NiO4+δ (n = 1) phase and the higher-order Ruddlesden-Popper phases, Lan+1NinO3n+1 (n = 2 and 3), has been undertaken to determine their suitability as cathodes for intermediate-temperature solid-oxide fuel cells. As n is increased, a structural phase transition is observed from tetragonal I4/mmm in the hyperstoichiometric La2NiO4.15 (n = 1) to orthorhombic Fmmm in the oxygen-deficient phases, La3Ni2O6.95 (n = 2) and La4Ni3O9.78 (n = 3). High temperature d.c. electrical conductivity measurements reveal a dramatic increase in overall values from n = 1, 2 to 3 with metallic behavior observed for La4Ni3O9.78. Impedance spectroscopy measurements on symmetrical cells with La0.9Sr0.10Ga0.80Mg0.20O3−δ (LSGM-9182) as the electrolyte show a systematic improvement in the electrode performance from La2NiO4.15 to La4Ni3O9.78 with ∼ 1 Ω cm2 observed at 1073 K for the latter. Long-term thermal stability tests show no impurity formation when La3Ni2O6.95 and La4Ni3O9.78 are heated at 1123 K for 2 weeks in air, in contrast to previously reported data for La2NiO4.15. The relative thermal expansion coefficients of La3Ni2O6.95 and La4Ni3O9.78 were found to be similar at ∼ 13.2 × 10 6 K 1 from 348 K to 1173 K in air compared to 13.8 × 10 6 K 1 for La2NiO4.15. Taken together, these observations suggest favourable use for the n = 2 and 3 phases as cathodes in intermediate-temperature solid-oxide fuel cells when compared to the much-studied La2NiO4+δ (n = 1) phase.  相似文献

Several nanostructures were obtained after irradiation with femtosecond laser pulse (130 fs, 800 nm, 1 kHz pulse repetition frequency) on Au/Cr film stack. The influence of laser parameters such as fluence (0.5 J/cm2, 1.5 J/cm2, 3 J/cm2) and the number of pulse were investigated. With single pulse irradiation, the nanoline and nonoparticle were obtained for the pulse fluence of 0.5 J/cm2 and 3 J/cm2, respectively. The formation mechanism of those nanostructures was discussed. The results of this experiment demonstrate that different kinds of nanostructures could be formed by varying the laser parameters such as fluence and the number of pulse.  相似文献

La1−xMnOδ (x=−0.02 to 0.35) nanocrystalline powders were prepared by a new sol–gel method. It is used the acrylamide gelification to form an organic 3D tangled network where a solution of the respective cations is soaked. This method was adapted to cover a broad range of high impact electro–ceramic oxides, which a particular example is the CMR nanopowders reported in this work. The acrylamide sol–gel process is a fast, cheaper and easy to scale-up method for obtaining fine powders of complex oxides. This synthesis method allows performing 100 g of highly pure nanopowders in one run with simple laboratory scale. The sponge like powder obtained consists of thin sheets composed of nanocrystallites whose size varies from 66 nm to 30 nm, depending on composition. The oxygen content of the manganite powder is shown to decrease with vacancy-doping on lanthanum site. Such a evolution can be explained for La/Mn<0.9 by considering a demixtion of the powder into La0.9MnO3 and Mn3O4 phases, while for La/Mn>0.9, the high oxygen excess leads to consider vacancies on both lanthanum and manganese sites. Both hypotheses are supported by magnetic measurements, which show a constant Curie temperature of 295 K for La/Mn<0.9, while for La/Mn>0.9, the occurrence of vacancies on manganese sites progressively impedes the ferromagnetic interactions, leading to a cluster–glass behaviour in the case of the highly manganese-deficient La0.94Mn0.92O3 compound.  相似文献
