We have implemented the so-called λ-Zeeman technique (LZT) to investigate individual hyperfine transitions between Zeeman sublevels of the Rb atoms in a strong external magnetic field B in the range of 2500 ? 5000 G (recently it was established that LZT is very convenient for the range of 10 ? 2500 G). Atoms are confined in a nanometric thin cell (NTC) with the thickness L = λ, where λ is the resonant wavelength 794 nm for Rb D1 line. Narrow velocity selective optical pumping (VSOP) resonances in the transmission spectrum of the NTC are split into several components in a magnetic field with the frequency positions and transition probabilities depending on the B-field. Possible applications are described, such as magnetometers with nanometric local spatial resolution and tunable atomic frequency references.  相似文献

We demonstrate a new device concept for wavelength division demultiplexing based on planar photonic crystal waveguides. The filtering of wavelength channels is realized by shifting the cutoff frequency of the fundamental photonic bandgap mode in consecutive sections of the waveguide. The shift is realized by modifying the size of the border holes. The proposed demultiplexer has an area equal to (16.5 μm × 6.5 μm) and thus it is verified that this structure is very small and can be integrated easily into optical integrated circuits with nanophotonic technologies. The output wavelengths of designed structure can be tuned for communication applications, around 1550 nm. The wavelengths of demultiplexer channels are λ1 = 1.590 μm, λ2 = 1.566 μm, λ3 = 1.525 μm, λ4 = 1.510 μm, λ5 = 1.484 μm, λ6 = 1.450 μm, λ7 = 1.400 μm respectively. Designs offering improvement of number of the separate wavelengths (seven), miniaturization of the structure (107.25 μm2) is our aim in this work.In our structure, we consider that the 2D triangular lattice photonic crystal is composed of air holes surrounded by dielectric. Its parameters are: radius of holes (r = 0.130 μm), lattice constant (a = 0.380 μm), and index of membrane (n = 3.181:InP). The numerical model used to simulate the structure of the demultiplexer is based on the finite difference time domain (FDTD).  相似文献

A theoretical design and experimental realization of multi-layer mirrors for Fabry–Perot interferometry and optical telecommunications is described in this work. The mirrors were designed and fabricated by 13 successive thin layers to achieve very high reflectance at optical wavelengths around 1300 nm. Thin layers are ZnS and MgF2 presenting high and low refractive index, respectively. Layer thickness λo/2 at λo=656 nm. Experimental results include characterization of transmittance of mirrors around 1300 nm. Additionally, the mirrors were integrated in a Fabry–Perot interferometer to characterize optical sources emitting at 1300 nm. Finally to show a practical application, optical phase modulation was analyzed, using the fabricated mirrors through a scanning Fabry–Perot interferometer acting as high-resolution optical spectrum analyzer (OSA).  相似文献

We report a wide bandwidth (Δλ=8 nm) optical pulsed MOPA (master oscillator power amplifier) source emitting 11.23 mJ pulses (1.25 MW peak power) in the wavelength centered at (λ=1064 nm). Pulse duration and repetition rate were 9 ns and from 10 Hz to 100 Hz, respectively. In order to suppress amplified spontaneous emission (ASE), multi-stage pulse pump technology is applied. And the large core diameter (90 μm) and wide bandwidth ensures the high peak power and energy output.  相似文献

We propose and present a quarter-wave plate using metal–insulator–metal (MIM) structure with sub-wavelength rectangular annular arrays (RAA) patterned in the upper Au film. It is found that by manipulating asymmetric width of the annular gaps along two orthogonal directions, the reflected amplitude and phase of the two orthogonal components can be well controlled via the RAA metasurface tuned by the MIM cavity effect, in which the localized surface plasmon resonance dip can be flattened with the cavity length. A quarter-wave plate has been realized through an optimized design at 1.55 μm, in which the phase difference variation of less than 2% of the π/2 between the two orthogonal components can be obtained in an ultra-wide wavelength range of about 130 nm, and the reflectivity is up to ∼90% within the whole working wavelength band. It provides a great potential for applications in advanced nanophotonic devices and integrated photonic systems.  相似文献

The design procedures were discussed in detail for a normal incident chirped Mo/Si multilayer mirror with Group Delay Dispersion (GDD) of ?3600 as2 in the wavelength region of 13–17 nm. The GDD was calculated using an analytical approach by fitting the optical constants of the coating materials in the wavelength range of 12.8–17.2 nm, respectively. The final structure of the chirped mirror was obtained by using the simplex algorithm from the initial structure obtained by the genetic algorithm based on structure generated by a random generator. After considering the interfacial roughness and layers thickness deviation, the effects on the reflectivity and the GDD were discussed. It was found that the average reflectivity decreases from 5.98% to 4.22% and the average GDD decreases from ?3561.86 as2 to ?3462.03 as2, the vibration of GDD were larger than that of the reflectivity. The reflectivity was affected greatly by the 9th layer and the GDD was affected greatly by the 25th layer when each layer thickness changes ±0.2 nm. Compared with the GDD, the reflectivity was affected greatly by the layer thickness error.  相似文献

The high transparency of carbon-containing materials in the spectral region of “carbon window” (λ  4.5–5 nm) introduces new opportunities for various soft X-ray microscopy applications. The development of efficient multilayer coated X-ray optics operating at the wavelengths of about 4.5 nm has stimulated a series of our imaging experiments to study thick biological and synthetic objects. Our experimental set-up consisted of a laser plasma X-ray source generated with the 2nd harmonics of Nd–glass laser, scandium-based thin-film filters, Co/C multilayer mirror and X-ray film UF-4. All soft X-ray images were produced with a single nanosecond exposure and demonstrated appropriate absorption contrast and detector-limited spatial resolution. A special attention was paid to the 3D imaging of thick low-density foam materials to be used in design of laser fusion targets.  相似文献

We studied the features of optical absorption in the films of nanocrystalline SiC (nc-SiC) obtained on the sapphire substrates by the method of direct ion deposition. The optical absorption spectra of the films with a thickness less than ~500 nm contain a maximum which position and intensity depend on the structure and thickness of the nc-SiC films. The most intense peak at 2.36 eV is observed in the nc-SiC film with predominant 3C-SiC polytype structure and a thickness of 392 nm. Proposed is a resonance absorption model based on excitation of exciton polaritons in a microcavity. In the latter, under the conditions of resonance, there occurs strong interaction between photon modes of light with λph=521 nm and exciton of the 3С polytype with an excitation energy of 2.36 eV that results in the formation of polariton. A mismatch of the frequencies of photon modes of the cavity and exciton explains the dependence of the maximum of the optical absorption on the film thickness.  相似文献

In the present paper, the effects of nitridation on the quality of GaN epitaxial films grown on Si(1 1 1) substrates by metal–organic chemical vapor phase deposition (MOCVD) are discussed. A series of GaN layers were grown on Si(1 1 1) under various conditions and characterized by Nomarski microscopy (NM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), high resolution X-ray diffraction (HRXRD), and room temperature (RT) photoluminescence (PL) measurements. Firstly, we optimized LT-AlN/HT-AlN/Si(1 1 1) templates and graded AlGaN intermediate layers thicknesses. In order to prevent stress relaxation, step-graded AlGaN layers were introduced along with a crack-free GaN layer of thickness exceeding 2.2 μm. Secondly, the effect of in situ substrate nitridation and the insertion of an SixNy intermediate layer on the GaN crystalline quality was investigated. Our measurements show that the nitridation position greatly influences the surface morphology and PL and XRD spectra of GaN grown atop the SixNy layer. The X-ray diffraction and PL measurements results confirmed that the single-crystalline wurtzite GaN was successfully grown in samples A (without SixNy layer) and B (with SixNy layer on Si(1 1 1)). The resulting GaN film surfaces were flat, mirror-like, and crack-free. The full-width-at-half maximum (FWHM) of the X-ray rocking curve for (0 0 0 2) diffraction from the GaN epilayer of the sample B in ω-scan was 492 arcsec. The PL spectrum at room temperature showed that the GaN epilayer had a light emission at a wavelength of 365 nm with a FWHM of 6.6 nm (33.2 meV). In sample B, the insertion of a SixNy intermediate layer significantly improved the optical and structural properties. In sample C (with SixNy layer on Al0.11Ga0.89N interlayer). The in situ depositing of the, however, we did not obtain any improvements in the optical or structural properties.  相似文献

Chromotrope 2R (CHR) films of different thicknesses have been prepared using spin coater. The material has been characterized using FT-IR, DTA and X-ray diffraction. The XRD of the material in powder and thin film forms showed polycrystalline structure with triclinic phase. Preferred orientation at the (1 1 4) plane is observed for the deposited films. Initial indexing of the XRD pattern was performed using “Crystalfire” computer program. Miller indices, h k l, values for each diffraction line in X-ray diffraction (XRD) spectrum were calculated and indexed for the first time. The DTA thermograms of CHR powder have been recorded in the temperature range 25–350 °C with different heating rates. The spectra of the infra-red absorption allow characterization of vibration modes for the powder and thin film. The effect of film thickness on the optical properties has been studied in the UV-visible-NIR regions. The films show high transmittance exceeding 0.90 in the NIR region λ > 800 nm. The intensity of the absorption peaks for λ < 800 nm are enhanced as the film thickness increase. The absorption bands are attributed to the (π–π*) and (n–π*) molecular transitions. The optical properties have been analyzed according to the single-oscillator model and the dispersion energy parameters as well as the free charge carrier concentration have been determined. The optical energy gap as well as the oscillator strength and electric dipole strength have been calculated.  相似文献

Spectral sensitivity dependencies of Hg1−xCdxTe (0.20  x  0.25) backside illuminated planar photodiodes were investigated at T = 80 K to study their longwavelength edge features. It was shown that the longwavelength part of these spectral dependencies is mainly formed by the exponential wavelength dependence of the optical transitions. Empirical dependencies of cut-off wavelengths at different values (λmax, λ0.5, λ0.9) were obtained. The influence of the epitaxial layer thickness on the maximum sensitivity position was also studied.  相似文献

To improve the quantum efficiency of GaN photocathode, we optimized the photocathode's structure in three aspects. We use AlN replacing GaN as the buffer layer, which can act as potential barrier to reflect electrons back to surface. The optimal thickness of emission layer is calculated as 162.5 nm, and considering the graded doping profile, we optimized the thickness as 180 nm. Three built-in electric fields are introduced by Mg graded dope, and the intensities of the high fields are calculated to give the quantitive results of their influence. After surface cleaning and activation, quantum efficiency of the optimized sample was increased and the highest value of 56% was achieved at 240 nm. More quantum efficiency enhancement is possible by further optimizing the photocathode structure.  相似文献

Radiative shock waves propagating in xenon at a low pressure have been produced using 60 joules of iodine laser (λ = 1.315 μm) at PALS center. The shocks have been probed by XUV imaging using a Zn X-raylaser (λ = 21 nm) generated with a 20-ns delay after the shock creating pulse. Auxiliary high-speed silicon diodes allowed performing space- and time-resolved measurement of plasma self-emission in the visible and XUV. The results show the generation of a shock wave propagating at 60 km/s preceded by a radiative precursor. This demonstrates the feasibility of radiative shock generation using high power infrared lasers and the use of XRL backlighting as a suitable diagnostic for shock imaging.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to evaluate the accuracy in the Normal and DFD classification in Nellore beef using a bench-top hyperspectral imaging system. A hyperspectral imaging system (λ = 928–2524 nm) was used to collect hyperspectral images of the Longissimus thoracis et lumborum (n = 78) of Nellore cattle. The images were processed, being selected region of interest and extracted spectra image and were selected the wavelengths considered most important for the treats evaluated. Six linear discriminant models were developed to classify beef samples on Normal and DFD. The model using all wavelengths associated with the reflectance and absorbance spectrum transformed with the pretreatment 2nd derivative resulted in an overall accuracy of 93.6% for both pretreatments. In this configuration, the model was able to classify correctly 73 samples from a total of 78 samples. The results demonstrate that the hyperspectral imaging system may be considered a viable technology for beef classification on Normal and DFD.  相似文献

A high-resolution, flood-illumination retinal camera using liquid crystal (LC) adaptive optics (AO) is presented. The retinal camera uses light at 780 nm for ocular aberration measurement while light at 655 nm and 593 nm for retinal imaging. In order to avoid chromatic aberrations due to wavelength dependence of LC, we adopt an open-loop technique, in which dynamic correction of aberrations is applied only to the imaging light. A compensation pattern projected on the LC wavefront corrector is adjusted to provide phase wrapping of 2 π for illumination light. We confirmed feasibility of this technique by performing in vivo retinal imaging experiments. Photoreceptors were clearly revealed at both imaging light at 655 nm and 593 nm. Feasibility of the technique was also supported by comparison of the retinal images taken by the present open-loop technique with those taken by the conventional closed-loop one and by analysis of the spatial distribution of the photoreceptors.  相似文献

We reported on the ablation depth control with a resolution of 40 nm on indium tin oxide (ITO) thin film using a square beam shaped femtosecond (190 fs) laser (λp=1030 nm). A slit is used to make the square, flat top beam shaped from the Gaussian spatial profile of the femtosecond laser. An ablation depth of 40 nm was obtained using the single pulse irradiation at a peak intensity of 2.8 TW/cm2. The morphologies of the ablated area were characterized using an optical microscope, atomic force microscope (AFM), and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). Ablations with square and rectangular types with various sizes were demonstrated on ITO thin film using slits with varying xy axes. The stereo structure of the ablation with the depth resolution of approximately 40 nm was also fabricated successfully using the irradiation of single pulses with different shaped sizes of femtosecond laser.  相似文献

The spectral interference of polarization modes in a highly birefringent (HB) fiber to measure temperature is analyzed theoretically and experimentally. A tandem configuration of a birefringent delay line and a sensing HB fiber is considered and the spectral interferograms are modelled for the known birefringence dispersion of the HB fiber under test. As the delay line, a birefringent quartz crystal of a suitable thickness is employed to resolve a channeled spectrum. The channeled spectra are recorded for different temperatures and the polarimetric sensitivity to temperature, determined in the spectral range from 500 to 850 nm, is decreasing with wavelength. It is demonstrated that the temperature sensing is possible using the wavelength interrogation, i.e., the position of a given interference maximum is temperature dependent. The temperature sensitivity of the HB fiber under test is −0.25 nm/K and the resolution is better than 0.5 K.  相似文献

Transparent conductive WO3/Ag/MoO3 (WAM) multilayer electrodes were fabricated by thermal evaporation and the effects of Ag layer thickness on the optoelectronic and structural properties of multilayer electrode as anode in organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) were investigated using different analytical methods. For Ag layers with thickness varying between 5 and 20 nm, the best WAM performances, high optical transmittance (81.7%, at around 550 nm), and low electrical sheet resistance (9.75 Ω/cm2) were obtained for 15 nm thickness. Also, the WAM structure with 15 nm of Ag layer thickness has a very smooth surface with an RMS roughness of 0.37 nm, which is suitable for use as transparent conductive anode in OLEDs. The current density?voltage?luminance (J?V?L) characteristics measurement shows that the current density of WAM/PEDOT:PSS/TPD/Alq3/LiF/Al organic diode increases with the increase in thickness of Ag and WO3/Ag (15 nm)/MoO3 device exhibits a higher luminance intensity at lower voltage than ITO/PEDOT:PSS/TPD/Alq3/LiF/Al control device. Furthermore, this device shows the highest power efficiency (0.31 lm/W) and current efficiency (1.2 cd/A) at the current density of 20 mA/cm2, which is improved 58% and 41% compared with those of the ITO-based device, respectively. The lifetime of the WO3/Ag (15 nm)/MoO3 device was measured to be 50 h at an initial luminance of 50 cd/m2, which is five times longer than 10 h for ITO-based device.  相似文献

We report on the theoretical concept of the design of a compact plasmonic tunable filter made of a metal–dielectric–metal waveguide and using elasto-optic effects. The proposed device is designed in a nanoring resonator structure and numerically studied by means of 3D-FEM simulations. We obtained an optimized nanoring resonator that has a radius R=390 nm and resonances at the telecommunication wavelength of 1.58 μm. Simulations using elasto-optic material as the dielectric layer and top and bottom Ag layers as electrodes indicate that the output can be tuned in the telecommunication wavelength range with an applied field. Further, using the proposed device, optical switching phenomenon is also found to be possible. This tunable ring resonator filter with ultra-small radii is considered valuable for photonic integrated systems.  相似文献

In this paper we present optical and thermo-optical characterization results of integrated filters based on micro-ring resonators fabricated with a couple of polymers “PVCI/PMATRIFE”. Their high index contrast (Δn~0.15 at the wavelength of 1550 nm) allows to make small size waveguides with cross sections of 1.5×1.5 μm². The study of the impact of different gaps on the extinction ratio and FWHM (full width at half maximum) of filters leads to a better design. First experiments of thermal tunability of the microring filter using a thermo-electric cooler (TEC) are also reported giving a 5 nm shift of the dropped wavelength for a temperature change of 40 K. The fabrication of gold electrodes on microrings is reported and the electrical power required for the tuning of the drop wavelength of 0.0055 nm/1 mW show that with an optimized electrode design the consumption will be low.  相似文献
