We demonstrate high-speed (250 Mbps) data encryption over 25 km of telecommunication fiber by use of coherent states. For the parameter values used in the experiment, the demonstration is secure against individual ciphertext-only eavesdropping attacks near the transmitter with ideal detection equipment. Whereas other quantum-cryptographic schemes require the use of fragile quantum states and ultrasensitive detection equipment, our protocol is loss tolerant, uses off-the-shelf components, and is optically amplifiable.  相似文献

In Li and Luo(2007 Phys. Rev. A 76 032327), the inequality(1/2)T≥ Q was identified as a fundamental postulate for a consistent theory of quantum versus classical correlations for arbitrary measures of total T and quantum Q correlations in bipartite quantum states. Besides, Hayden et al(2006 Commun. Math. Phys. 265 95) have conjectured that, in some conditions within systems endowed with infinite-dimensional Hilbert spaces, quantum correlations may dominate not only half of total correlations but total correlations itself. Here, in a two-mode Gaussian state,quantifying T and Q respectively by the quantum mutual information I~G and the entanglement of formation(EoF) ε_F~G, we verify that ε_(F,R)~G,is always less than(1/2) I_R~G when I~G and ε_F~G are defined via the Rényi-2 entropy. While via the von Neumann entropy, ε_(F,V)~G,may even dominate I_V~G itself,which partly consolidates the Hayden conjecture, and partly, provides strong evidence hinting that the origin of this counterintuitive behavior should intrinsically be related to the von Neumann entropy by which the EoF ε_(F,V)~G,is defined, rather than related to the conceptual definition of the EoF ε_F. The obtained results show that—in the special case of mixed two-mode Gaussian states—quantum entanglement can be faithfully quantified by the Gaussian Rényi-2 EoF ε_(F,R)~G,.  相似文献

Classical correlations and entanglement in quantum measurements   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
We analyze a quantum measurement where the apparatus is initially in a mixed state. We show that the amount of information gained in a measurement is not equal to the amount of entanglement between the system and the apparatus, but is instead equal to the degree of classical correlations between the two. As a consequence, we derive an uncertainty-like expression relating the information gain in the measurement and the initial mixedness of the apparatus. Final entanglement between the environment and the apparatus is also shown to be relevant for the efficiency of the measurement.  相似文献

A novel implementation of quantum-noise optical cryptography is proposed, which is based on a simplified architecture that allows long-haul, high-speed transmission in a fiber optical network. By using a single multiport encoder/decoder and 16 phase shifters, this new approach can provide the same confidentiality as other implementations of Yuen's encryption protocol, which use a larger number of phase or polarization coherent states. Data confidentiality and error probability for authorized and unauthorized receivers are carefully analyzed.  相似文献

We address the effect of classical correlations, introduced to a quantum resource used for the continuous-variable quantum key distribution. The set-up is based on an entangled source with two trusted parties performing homodyne measurements on their modes, thus corresponding to the preparation of squeezed states, while one of the modes is traveling to the remote party through lossy and noisy channel. The security of the scheme is considered against individual and collective eavesdropping attacks. It is shown that the classical correlations added to the entangled source increase the performance of the scheme both quantatively in terms of the secure key rate and qualitatively in terms of the security region with respect to the tolerable excess noise for both types of attacks and the improvement is essentially significant for sources possessing low degree of nonclassicality.  相似文献

Coherent states and their generalizations, displaced Fock states, are of fundamental importance to quantum optics. Here we present a direct observation of a classical analogue for the emergence of these states from the eigenstates of the harmonic oscillator. To this end, the light propagation in a Glauber-Fock waveguide lattice serves as equivalent for the displacement of Fock states in phase space. Theoretical calculations and analogue classical experiments show that the square-root distribution of the coupling parameter in such lattices supports a new family of intriguing quantum correlations not encountered in uniform arrays. Because of the broken shift invariance of the lattice, these correlations strongly depend on the transverse position. Consequently, quantum random walks with this extra degree of freedom may be realized in Glauber-Fock lattices.  相似文献

非正交编码协议和诱骗态方法可以有效地抵御光子数分离攻击. 由于相干叠加态中单光子成分高达90%, 常作为单光子量子比特的替代出现, 用于量子信息过程处理和计算. 本文结合非正交编码协议和诱骗态方法提出一种新的量子密钥分发方案, 光源采用相干叠加态, 推导了单光子的密钥生成速率、计数率下限和误码率的上限, 利用Matlab 模拟了无限多诱骗态情况下和有限多诱骗态情况下密钥生成速率和传输距离的关系, 得出该方案可以提升密钥生成速率并且提高安全传输距离, 验证了该方案可以进一步提高量子密钥分发系统的性能.  相似文献

The reconnection of two singularities in 2D, 3D, and 4D classical and quantum turbulence is examined. Singularity reconnection plays an essential role in the dissipation of the incompressible part of kinetic energy. A reconnection condition 2(ds+1)≥d+1 is derived, which crucially depends on the dimension ds of the singular structure in relation to the spatial dimension d of the system. The feasibility of this condition is examined using direct numerical simulations of the Navier-Stokes and Gross-Pitaevskii equations for the classical and quantum turbulence, respectively. We observed that the condition was satisfied for d=3 and 4, in agreement with the occurrence of energy cascades in both classical and quantum turbulence in those dimensions.  相似文献

On the basis of the ansatz of the single-valuedness for the classically approximated wave function, a classical quantization rule is derived for a dynamical system described by a general class of coherent states. The classical wave function, which is defined on the manifold parametrizing the coherent states, is constructed by an application of the stationary phase approximation to the coherent-state path integral.
