An optical arrangement has been devised that will permit the measurement of one component of the relative displacement, and therefore the corresponding strain, in a surface at nonambient temperatures by use of coherent optics. The method is based on the technique of moiré interferometry with illumination at grazing incidence. We fabricated distributed-feedback (DFB) solid-state dye lasers with moiré gratings. We formed a moiré grating pattern by superimposing two grating patterns with a rotation angle. The moiré gratings were fabricated by an “etchless” process utilizing a two-beam interference method. The gratings were coated with solidified rhodamine-B. The five laser devices were pumped with the second harmonic generation of a Nd:YAG laser and we obtained narrow-banded laser oscillations at 590, 600, 610, 620, and 630 nm wavelength. Full widths at half maximum of laser spectra were less than 0.5 nm. The results indicated that a moiré fringe can function as a resonator of DFB solid-state dye lasers.  相似文献

In a microscopical theory of gravity the coupling of internal gauge degrees of freedom to those of space-time are studied. A magnetic-monopole-type solution for the coupledSO(3) Yang-Mills-Higgs system in a space-time with curvature and torsion is derived. The coupling constant of the Lorentz gauge bosons can be related directly to the (constant) Higgs field and to the cosmological constant which is induced by the quadratic curvature terms in the Lagrangian. We examined by low-energy electron diffraction and scanning tunneling microscopy the surface of thin Cu films on Pt(111). The Cu/Pt lattice mismatch induces a moiré modulation for films from 3 to about 10?ML thickness. We used angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy to examine the effects of this structural modulation on the electronic states of the system. A series of hexagonal- and trigonal-like constant energy contours is found in the proximity of the Cu(111) zone boundaries. These electronic patterns are generated by Cu sp-quantum well state replicas, originating from multiple points of the reciprocal lattice associated with the moiré superstructure. Layer-dependent strain relaxation and hybridization with the substrate bands concur to determine the dispersion and energy position of the Cu Shockley surface state.  相似文献

Image hiding based on time-averaged fringes produced by non-harmonic oscillations and near-optimal moiré gratings is presented in this paper. The secret image is embedded into the background moiré grating. Phase matching and initial stochastic phase scrambling algorithms are used to encrypt the image. The decoding of the image is completely visual. The embedded secret image appears when the encrypted image is oscillated in a predefined direction, according to a predefined law of motion. No secret is leaked when the encrypted image is oscillated harmonically at any amplitude of oscillation. The criterion of the optimality of a moiré grating serves as a fitness function for evolutionary algorithms which are used to identify a near-optimal moiré grating for image hiding applications. Numerical experiments are used to illustrate the functionality of the method.  相似文献

We report on mid-infrared superabsorbers based on quasi-periodic moiré metasurfaces in metal-insulator-metal form. By varying the spacer thickness, moiré rotation angle, and filling factor of the superabsorbers, we can tune narrowband or broadband absorption in a systematic way. With their high tunability of near-unity absorption and simple fabrication, in combination with decoupled mode theory for an efficient design, moiré superabsorbers are well-suited for a wide range of applications in sensing, imaging, and communication.  相似文献

The Poincaré gauge theory of gravity should apply in the microphysical domain. Here we investigate its implications for macrophysics. Weakly self double dual Riemann-Cartan curvature is assumed throughout. It is shown that the metrical background is then determined by Einstein's field equations with the Belinfante-Rosenfeld symmetrized energy-momentum current amended by spin squared terms. Moreover, the effective cosmological constant can be reconciled with the empirical data by absorbing the corresponding constant curvature part into the dynamical torsion of recently found exact solutions. Macroscopically this extra torsion remains undetectable.  相似文献

It is well known that the superposition of two identical random dot patterns may give rise to a particular form of moiré effect known as a Glass pattern. Surprisingly, new research results show that if one chooses appropriate dot shapes for each of the two random dot patterns, while keeping the random dot locations in both layers identical, it is possible to synthesize in the superposition a Glass pattern having any desired shape and intensity profile.  相似文献

Photonic moiré superlattice as an emerging platform of flatbands can tightly confine the light inside the cavity and has important applications not only in linear optics but also in nonlinear optics. In this paper, we numerically investigate the third- and fifth-order harmonic generation (THG and FHG) in photonic moiré superlattices fabricated by the nonlinear material silicon. The high conversion efficiency of THG and FHG is obtained at a relatively low intensity of fundamental light, e.g., the maximum conversion efficiency of THG and FHG arrives even up to be 10−2 and 10−9 at the fundamental intensity of 30 kW/m2, respectively, in the moiré superlattice of near flat band formed by the twist angle 6.01°. The results indicate the photonic moiré superlattice of a high-quality factor and flatbands is a promising platform for efficient nonlinear processes and advanced photonic devices.  相似文献

The numerical moirémethod with sensitivity as high as 0.03 nm has been presented.A quantitative displacement and strain analysis program has been proposed by using this method.It is applied to au edge dislocation and a stacking fault in aluminum.The measured strain of edge dislocation is compared with theoretical prediction given by Peierls-Nabarro dislocation model.The displacement of stacking fault is also obtained.  相似文献
