An efficient erbium–ytterbium-doped fiber amplifier (EYDFA) is demonstrated by forward and backward pumping a 3 m erbium/ytterbium co-doped fibers (EYDF) in single- and double-pass configurations using a 20 mW pump. At the input signal wavelength of 1536 nm, the forward- and backward-pumped double-pass amplifiers achieved a maximum low-signal gain of 37.2 and 28.6 dB and a corresponding noise figure of 5.4 and 10.8 dB, respectively. Whereas, the forward- and backward-pumped single-pass amplifiers (at the same wavelength) achieved a maximum low-signal gain of 20.0 and 22.2 dB and a corresponding noise figure of 4.6 and 10.3 dB, respectively. The double-pass design offers an economical solution to high-efficiency and high-gain optical amplifiers.  相似文献

A gain and gain-flatness improved L-band dual-pass Raman fiber amplifier (RFA) utilizing a photonic crystal fiber (PCF) as gain medium is demonstrated. By introducing complementary gain spectra of typical forward and backward pumping single-pass RFA using the same PCF, we finally achieve average net gain level of 22.5 dB with a ±0.8 dB flattening gain in 20-nm bandwidth from 1595 nm to 1615 nm, which is rare in RFAs with only one single pump and no flattening filter. Compared with the single-pass pump configurations, gain level, flatness and bandwidth are greatly improved by using the dual-pass amplification configuration. The limitation of this configuration caused by multi-path interference (MPI) noise and stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) is also discussed.  相似文献

The chemical pressure control in (Sr2−xCax)FeMoO6 (0  x  2.0) with double perovskite structure has been investigated systematically. We have performed first-principles total energy and electronic structure calculations for x = 0 and x = 2.0. The increasing Ca content in (Sr2−xCax)FeMoO6 samples increases the magnetic moment close to the theoretical value due to reduction of Fe/Mo anti-site disorder. An increasing Ca content results in increasing (Fe2+ + Mo6+)/(Fe3+ + Mo5+) band overlap rather than bandwidth changes. This is explained from simple ionic size arguments and is supported by X-ray absorption near edge structure (XANES) spectra and band structure calculations.  相似文献

The dynamic properties of a double period (DP) structure with a 90° partial dislocation were investigated by atomic simulation methods in Si. By the use of molecular dynamics (MD) method, the motion sequences of kinks and reconstruction defect (RD) of DP structure were obtained. Based on the conjugate gradients (CG) results and tight-binding (TB) potential, the formation energies Ef of kinks were computed. In addition, the migration barriers Wm of kinks were also calculated via nudged elastic band (NEB) method with TB potential. The results show that Ef is smaller than Wm, which means that the migration barrier of kink dominates the motion of DP structure. According to the activation energies of short dislocation segments (2.17 eV) and long dislocation segments (1.61 eV), we predict that the experimental results may be between these two values.  相似文献

The catalytic partial oxidation (CPO) of CH4/O2 mixtures diluted with large amounts of H2O and CO2 (up to 43% and 21% vol., respectively) was investigated experimentally and numerically in the pressure range 4 bar  p  10 bar. Experiments were carried out in an optically accessible channel-flow catalytic reactor coated with Rh/ZrO2, and included planar laser induced fluorescence (LIF) of formaldehyde for the assessment of homogeneous (gas-phase) ignition and one-dimensional spontaneous Raman measurements of all major gas-phase species for the evaluation of the heterogeneous (catalytic) processes. Simulations were performed with a full elliptic model that included detailed heterogeneous and homogeneous chemical reaction schemes. Over the reactor length with negligible gas-phase chemistry contribution, the employed heterogeneous reaction scheme provided good agreement to the measured methane consumption and synthesis gas yields, overpredicting mildly the partial over the total oxidation route. It was shown that the added water provided a source of O(s) and OH(s) surface radicals that enhanced the methane conversion and H2 yields and reduced the CO yields. Moreover, the addition of CO2 had a negligible chemical effect on the aforementioned parameters. An increase in pressure from 4 to 10 bar had a minor impact on the methane conversion and hydrogen selectivity. The employed gaseous scheme reproduced the LIF-measured onset of homogeneous ignition, although it underpredicted the extent of the formaldehyde zone ahead of the flame and the flame propagation characteristics at the highest investigated pressure (10 bar).  相似文献
