We firstly present a concept of a self-calibration of the classical and quantum parameters’ measurement using a fiber optic system. The measurement of the change in phase of the optimum entangled states’ visibility is performed in terms of a walk-off length, i.e. birefringence. The applied physical parameters on the sensing fiber can be simultaneously measured and the self-calibration respecting the birefringence performed. The scheme of the entangled photons generation in fiber optic is reviewed and the walk-off on the polarization entangled states presented. The potential of self-calibration and simultaneous measurement using an interferometric sensing technique and fiber grating sensor are proposed and discussed. The walk-off on the entangled states in the thermal-controlled environment is presented and discussed.  相似文献

基于全息光学理论分析了全息光学元件的高斯成像性质,包括光焦度、成像位置、衍射效率以及作为光纤光谱仪光栅元件的可行性,并以全息光栅的成像理论以及光谱仪工作原理为基础,设计了光谱仪器光学系统的各个参数,通过Zemax软件的仿真、像质评价及优化,得出最终的参数和模拟结果。所使用的全息光栅记录波长为575 nm,记录光束之间的夹角为10,一束为平面波,一束为球面波,焦距40 mm,使用+1级衍射光,光栅孔径为10 mm。光谱仪的工作波长范围为400 nm~800 nm,体积140 mm*30 mm*40 mm,谱面展宽29.1 mm。通过在光学平台上搭建光路,利用已研发完成的电路系统及光谱仪软件,针对汞灯光谱进行了试验,光谱分辨率优于8 nm,测量得到的汞灯光谱与标准汞灯光谱一致,表明了所设计的基于全息元件的光纤光谱仪光学系统是可行的。  相似文献

The paper summarizes results achieved in the Institute of Radio Engineering and Electronics in the field of investigation and fabrication of novel fiber-optic structures for evanescent-wave chemical sensing. Several approaches for increasing the evanescent-wave sensitivity of multimode silica optical fibers to gaseous and liquid chemicals are shown. These approaches make use of the decrease of the core diameter in sectorial and capillary sectorial fibers, modification of trajectories of optical rays in the cores of inverted-graded-index fibers, tailoring of the refractive index of porous layers applied on silica cores, an output mode filter preventing the detection of rays propagating at low axial angles or fibers bent in single or multiple turns. The nonlinearity of a piezo-electrical transducer (PZT) driven tunable optical filter (TOF) is investigated and evaluated using FBG optical fiber sensing system including a broadband optical source and a tunable laser (TL) with a group of fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs). Polynomial fit is adopted to model the nonlinearity. Under three-order polynomial fit, the random error in wavelength measurement using this TOF and a reference FBG is minimized to be below 20 pm. At the same time, the absolute error in wavelength measurement is kept below 0.25 nm. Under four-order or higher polynomial fit, a sharp increase of the random measurement error is observed. This research reveals the possibility of using PZT driven TOFs in optical spectroscopy where high resolution, high-accuracy, and fast time-response is required.  相似文献

高分辨率光纤应变传感系统是地球物理学中地壳微弱形变观测的有力工具.相比于传统的地壳应变观测技术,光纤应变传感器具有测量分辨率高、抗干扰能力强、尺寸小、可复用、易于安装布设等特性,在建立新型地壳形变监测网络中具有很大的应用潜力.本文围绕面向地壳形变观测的纳应变级分辨率光纤应变传感器技术,阐述了应变传感原理与实现超高测量分辨率的机理,并详细介绍了扫频探测、Pound-Drever-Hall解调技术、边带探测、双回路锁定传感、传感器时分复用等技术及相应的传感器系统实现方案,最后,给出了超高分辨率光纤传感器在现场观测的实验结果与分析.  相似文献

提出并验证了一种新颖的基于环形马赫-泽德干涉仪结构的全分布式光纤振动传感系统.采用直流光实时动态定位技术,通过在干涉仪光路中引入环结构,将直线型干涉仪转化为环型回路,使得一个马赫-泽德干涉仪中相向传输两路光波,相当于构成双马赫-泽德干涉仪.当振动信号作用于传感光纤时,相向传输的两路直流光同时产生相同的相位信号并沿不同的路径传输至光接收单元,采用数字信号处理技术分析接收信号即可实时获得振动的空间位置和频率、幅度等特性参数.实验中成功实现了监测距离为1.01km的分布式振动传感,单点振动的空间分辨率小于40m.另外,从理论上分析并模拟了系统对多点同时振动进行检测和定位的可行性.  相似文献

We propose a novel power-line-monitoring system using optical fibers for transmitting power as well as signal. The principle is experimentally confirmed with a system composed of a monitoring side with a 1.5-μm laser diode, transmission line of a single mode fiber, and a sensing side having an efficient photovoltaic (PV) cell, electrical junction sensor, and low power liquid crystal optical modulator (LCOM). The PV cell generates the electrical power in the sensing side with a conversion efficiency of 20%. The LCOM is driven with low power of less than 50 μW, modulates the laser light with a signal indicating the power line condition, and transmits the optical signal. The developed sensing unit produces an optical signal having an extinction ratio of 15 dB with low optical power of 1.8 mW. Five systems were in operation for two years, faithfully monitoring the oil pressure in electrical cables every 20 min without incident.  相似文献

Temperature sensing using 1.54 μm fluorescence at the transition between the energy levels4I15/2 (ground state) and4I13/2 generated in an erbium-doped fiber with 1.48 μm pumping is proposed. The fluorescence has a peculiar spectral profile that possesses two peaks around 1.530 μm and 1.552 μm wavelengths. The temperature-dependent fluorescence is investigated in the temperature range between -50°C and 90°C. The power ratio between the two peaks increases with an increase in temperature. The sensitivity of the ratio is 0.007/°C on average in the measured temperature range. The total fluorescence power and the absorption loss at λ = 1480 nm in the fiber decrease as the temperature increases. Optical fiber temperature sensing immune from the fluctuation in pumping power can be performed using the peak power ratio and/or the absorption loss.  相似文献

A method is proposed for using optical fiber interferometers to detect single energy impulses of very short time duration. The interferometer is used to measure the periodic strains induced in a mass that is shock-excited into mechanical oscillation by an energy impulse. This technique is demonstrated using an optical fiber ring resonator to measure the energy content of current pulses with durations in the microsecond range.  相似文献

Research on development of optical gas sensors based on evanescent-wave absorption in random-hole optical fibers is described. A process to produce random-hole optical fibers was recently developed that uses a novel in situ bubble formation technique. Gas molecules that exhibit characteristic vibrational absorption lines in the near-IR region that correspond to the transmission window for silica optical fiber have been detected through the evanescent field of the guided mode in the pore region. The presence of the gas molecules in the holes of the fiber appears as a loss at wavelengths that are characteristic of the particular gas species present in the holes. An experimental setup was constructed with these holey fibers for detection of acetylene gas. The results clearly demonstrate the characteristic absorptions in the optical spectra that correspond to the narrow-line absorptions of the acetylene gas, and this represents what is to our knowledge the first report of random-hole fiber gas sensing in the literature.  相似文献

The effects of color centers' absorption on fibers and interferometric fiber optical gyroscopes(IFOGs) are studied in the paper. The irradiation induced attenuation(RIA) spectra of three types of polarization-maintaining fibers(PMFs), i.e.,P-doped, Ge-doped, and pure silica, irradiated at 100 Gy and 1000 Gy are measured in a wavelength range from 1100 nm to1600 nm and decomposed according to the Gaussian model. The relationship of the color centers absorption intensity with radiation dose is investigated based on a power model. Furthermore, the effects of all color centers' absorption on RIA and mean wavelength shifts(MWS) at 1300 nm and 1550 nm are discussed respectively. Finally, the random walk coefficient(RWC) degradation induced from RIA and the scale factor error induced by MWS of the IFOG are simulated and tested at a wavelength of 1300 nm. This research will contribute to the applications of the fibers in radiation environments.  相似文献

We propose and demonstrate the possibility of using a permanently microbent bare optical fiber for detecting chemical species. Two detection schemes, viz., a bright-field detection scheme (for the core modes), and a dark-field detection scheme (for the cladding modes) have been employed to produce a fiber-optic sensor. The sensor described here is sensitive enough to detect concentrations as low as nanomoles per liter of a chemical species, with a dynamic range of more than 6 orders of magnitude.  相似文献

Fiber optic sensors based on the interaction of surface plasmons or evanescent waves with the surrounding environment are usually obtained by tapering an optical fiber, which significantly weakens the structure, or by use of just the end of the optical fiber. A fiber optic structure that maintains the structural integrity of the optical fiber with a long environmental interaction length is presented. Graded-index optical fiber elements are used as lenses, and a coreless optical fiber acts as the environmental interaction area. These elements are fused by an optical fiber splicer and result in a continuous fiber optic sensing system.  相似文献

A ring-down interferometer (RDI) based on a modified Mach–Zehnder structure by incorporating a pair of mirrors with very high reflectivity into each of its two arms, respectively is proposed in this paper. Launching a coherent light pulse into the interferometer, in each arm, pulse ring-down occurs between its two mirrors and outputs a chain of pulses. The two chains of pulses from the two arms combine and interfere pulse by pulse at the detector and the difference of the light phase between the two arms will be enlarged linearly in proportion to the times of ring-down.  相似文献

介绍了保偏光纤的偏振串音和h参数以及它们的相互关系。给出了高精度起偏系统和检偏系统的光路结构。对影响测试精度的各种因素进行了详细分析,并使用自制的测试系统对国内几个单位生产的保偏光纤进行了测试,得到了理想的测试结果。其中,2m长的保偏光纤的偏振串音达到了-50dB以下,其测试精度达到了国际先进水平。  相似文献

A novel refractometric sensor utilizing unique spectral properties of antiresonant-guiding microstructured optical fibers is proposed. The sensor operation is based on the wavelength shift of the transmission spectrum in response to the refractive index change of a sample loaded in the air-holes of the microstructured optical fiber. Refractive index changes on the order of 0.1% can be detected using less than a nanoliter of a sample.  相似文献
