A quantum system of a Dirac particle interacting with the quantum radiation field is considered in the case where no external potentials exist. Then the total momentum of the system is conserved and the total Hamiltonian is unitarily equivalent to the direct integral of a family of self-adjoint operators acting in the Hilbert space , where is the Hilbert space of the quantum radiation field. The fiber operator is called the Hamiltonian of the Dirac polaron with total momentum . The main result of this paper is concerned with the non-relativistic (scaling) limit of . It is proven that the non-relativistic limit of yields a self-adjoint extension of a Hamiltonian of a polaron with spin 1/2 in non-relativistic quantum electrodynamics.  相似文献

We compute the first cohomology spaces of the Lie superalgebra with coefficients in the superspace of linear differential operators acting on weighted densities on the supercircle S 1|1. The structure of these spaces was conjectured in (Gargoubi et al. in Lett Math Phys 79:5165, 2007). In fact, we prove here that the situation is a little bit more complicated.   相似文献

A -product is defined via a set of commuting vector fields , and used in a theory coupled to the fields. The -product is dynamical, and the vacuum solution , reproduces the usual Moyal product. The action is invariant under rigid translations and Lorentz rotations, and the conserved energy–momentum and angular momentum tensors are explicitly derived.   相似文献

Given a conditionally completely positive map on a unital *-algebra , we find an interesting connection between the second Hochschild cohomology of with coefficients in the bimodule of adjointable maps, where M is the GNS bimodule of , and the possibility of constructing a quantum random walk [in the sense of (Attal et al. in Ann Henri Poincar 7(1):59–104, 2006; Lindsay and Parthasarathy in Sankhya Ser A 50(2):151–170, 1988; Sahu in Quantum stochastic Dilation of a class of Quantum dynamical Semigroups and Quantum random walks. Deformation quantization on varieties with singularities offers perspectives that are not found on manifolds. The Harrison component of Hochschild cohomology, vanishing on smooth manifolds, reflects information about singularities. The Harrison 2-cochains are symmetric and are interpreted in terms of abelian *-products. This paper begins a study of abelian quantization on plane curves over , being algebraic varieties of the form , where R is a polynomial in two variables; that is, abelian deformations of the coordinate algebra ). To understand the connection between the singularities of a variety and cohomology we determine the algebraic Hochschild (co)homology and its Barr–Gerstenhaber–Schack decomposition. Homology is the same for all plane curves , but the cohomology depends on the local algebra of the singularity of R at the origin. The Appendix, by Maxim Kontsevich, explains in modern mathematical language a way to calculate Hochschild and Harrison cohomology groups for algebras of functions on singular planar curves etc. based on Koszul resolutions.   相似文献

Let (T, H) be a weak Weyl representation of the canonical commutation relation (CCR) with one degree of freedom. Namely T is a symmetric operator and H is a self-adjoint operator on a complex Hilbert space satisfying the weak Weyl relation: for all (the set of real numbers), eitH D(T) ⊂ D(T) (i is the imaginary unit and D(T) denotes the domain of T) and . In the context of quantum theory where H is a Hamiltonian, T is called a strong time operator of H. In this paper we prove the following theorem on uniqueness of weak Weyl representations: Let be separable. Assume that H is bounded below with and , where is the set of complex numbers and, for a linear operator A on a Hilbert space, σ(A) denotes the spectrum of A. Then ( is the closure of T) is unitarily equivalent to a direct sum of the weak Weyl representation on the Hilbert space , where is the multiplication operator by the variable and with . Using this theorem, we construct a Weyl representation of the CCR from the weak Weyl representation . We prove a theorem about positive-operator-valued measures (POVMs) that is an analog of the Kolmogorov extension theorem, a standard theorem of probability theory. According to our theorem, if a sequence of POVMs G n on satisfies the consistency (or projectivity) condition then there is a POVM G on the space of infinite sequences that has G n as its marginal for the first n entries of the sequence. We also describe an application in quantum theory. The main proof in this article was first formulated in my habilitation thesis [6].  相似文献

Given a simple, simply laced, complex Lie algebra corresponding to the Lie group G, let be thesubalgebra generated by the positive roots. In this Letter we construct aBV algebra whose underlying graded commutative algebra is given by the cohomology, with respect to , of the algebra of regular functions on G with values in . We conjecture that describes the algebra of allphysical (i.e., BRST invariant) operators of the noncritical string. The conjecture is verified in the two explicitly known cases, 2 (the Virasoro string) and 3 (the string).  相似文献

In this paper we introduce Baxter integral -operators for finite-dimensional Lie algebras and . Whittaker functions corresponding to these algebras are eigenfunctions of the -operators with the eigenvalues expressed in terms of Gamma-functions. The appearance of the Gamma-functions is one of the manifestations of an interesting connection between Mellin-Barnes and Givental integral representations of Whittaker functions, which are in a sense dual to each other. We define a dual Baxter operator and derive a family of mixed Mellin-Barnes-Givental integral representations. Givental and Mellin-Barnes integral representations are used to provide a short proof of the Friedberg-Bump and Bump conjectures for G = GL( + 1) proved earlier by Stade. We also identify eigenvalues of the Baxter -operator acting on Whittaker functions with local Archimedean L-factors. The Baxter -operator introduced in this paper is then described as a particular realization of the explicitly defined universal Baxter operator in the spherical Hecke algebra , K being a maximal compact subgroup of G. Finally we stress an analogy between -operators and certain elements of the non-Archimedean Hecke algebra .  相似文献

It is known that the defining relations of the orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra are equivalent to the defining (triple) relations of n pairs of paraboson operators . In particular, with the usual star conditions, this implies that the “parabosons of order p” correspond to a unitary irreducible (infinite-dimensional) lowest weight representation V(p) of . Apart from the simple cases p = 1 or n = 1, these representations had never been constructed due to computational difficulties, despite their importance. In the present paper we give an explicit and elegant construction of these representations V(p), and we present explicit actions or matrix elements of the generators. The orthogonal basis vectors of V(p) are written in terms of Gelfand-Zetlin patterns, where the subalgebra of plays a crucial role. Our results also lead to character formulas for these infinite-dimensional representations. Furthermore, by considering the branching , we find explicit infinite-dimensional unitary irreducible lowest weight representations of and their characters. For an N-body Stark Hamiltonian , the resolvent estimate holds uniformly in with Re and Im , where , and is a compact interval. This estimate is well known as the limiting absorption principle. In this paper, we report that by introducing the localization in the configuration space, a refined resolvent estimate holds uniformly in with Re and Im . We give a new proof of a classical result of Lagnese and Stellmacher, characterizing all Huygens’ operators of the form , where q(x) depends on only one variable. The proof amounts to characterize the Schrödinger operators with a finite heat kernel expansion.  相似文献

Let H be a self-adjoint operator on a complex Hilbert space . A symmetric operator T on is called a time operator of H if, for all , (D(T) denotes the domain of T) and . In this paper, spectral properties of T are investigated. The following results are obtained: (i) If H is bounded below, then σ(T), the spectrum of T, is either (the set of complex numbers) or . (ii) If H is bounded above, then is either or . (iii) If H is bounded, then . The spectrum of time operators of free Hamiltonians for both nonrelativistic and relativistic particles is exactly identified. Moreover spectral analysis is made on a generalized time operator. We study the Verma modules M((μu)) over the Yangian Y associated with a simple Lie algebra . We give necessary and sufficient conditions for irreducibility of M(μ(u)). Moreover, regarding the simple quotient L((μu)) of M((μu)) as an -module, we give necessary and sufficient conditions for finite-dimensionality of the weight subspaces of L((μu)).  相似文献

We study a large class of Poisson manifolds, derived from Manin triples, for which we construct explicit partitions into regular Poisson submanifolds by intersecting certain group orbits. Examples include all varieties of Lagrangian subalgebras of reductive quadratic Lie algebras with Poisson structures defined by Lagrangian splittings of . In the special case of , where is a complex semi-simple Lie algebra, we explicitly compute the ranks of the Poisson structures on defined by arbitrary Lagrangian splittings of . Such Lagrangian splittings have been classified by P. Delorme, and they contain the Belavin–Drinfeld splittings as special cases.  相似文献

Let be a finite-dimensional complex simple Lie algebra and Uq( ) the associated quantum group (q is a nonzero complex number which we assume is transcendental). IfV is a finitedimensional irreducible representation of Uq( ), an affinization ofV is an irreducible representationVV of the quantum affine algebra Uq( ) which containsV with multiplicity one and is such that all other irreducible Uq( )-components ofV have highest weight strictly smaller than the highest weight ofV. There is a natural partial order on the set of Uq( ) classes of affinizations, and we look for the minimal one(s). In earlier papers, we showed that (i) if is of typeA, B, C, F orG, the minimal affinization is unique up to Uq( )-isomorphism; (ii) if is of typeD orE and is not orthogonal to the triple node of the Dynkin diagram of , there are either one or three minimal affinizations (depending on ). In this paper, we show, in contrast to the regular case, that if Uq( ) is of typeD 4 and is orthogonal to the triple node, the number of minimal affinizations has no upper bound independent of .As a by-product of our methods, we disprove a conjecture according to which, if is of typeA n,every affinization is isomorphic to a tensor product of representations of Uq( ) which are irreducible under Uq( ) (in an earlier paper, we proved this conjecture whenn=1).Both authors were partially supported by the NSF, DMS-9207701.  相似文献

We examine the structure of the insertion–elimination Lie algebra on rooted trees introduced in Connes and Kreimer (Ann. Henri Poincar 3(3):411–433, 2002). It possesses a triangular structure , like the Heisenberg, Virasoro, and affine algebras. We show in particular that it is simple, which in turn implies that it has no finite-dimensional representations. We consider a category of lowest-weight representations, and show that irreducible representations are uniquely determined by a “lowest weight” . We show that each irreducible representation is a quotient of a Verma-type object, which is generically irreducible.   相似文献

A problem of defining the quantum analogues for semi-classical twists in U()[[t]] is considered. First, we study specialization at q = 1 of singular coboundary twists defined in Uq ())[[t]] for g being a nonexceptional Lie algebra, then we consider specialization of noncoboundary twists when = and obtain q-deformation of the semiclassical twist introduced by Connes and Moscovici in noncommutative geometry.
