We investigate the time evolution of quantum correlations, which are measured by Gaussian quantum discord in a continuous-variable bipartite system subject to common and independent non-Markovian environments. Considering an initial two-mode Gaussian symmetric squeezed thermal state, we show that quantum correlations can be created during the non-Markovian evolution, which is different from the Markovian process. Furthermore, we find that the temperature is a key factor during the evolution in non-Markovian environments. For common reservoirs, a maximum creation of quantum correlations may occur under an appropriate temperature. For independent reservoirs, the non-Markovianity of the total system corresponds to the subsystem whose temperature is higher. In both common and independent environments, the Gaussian quantum discord is influenced by the temperature and the photon number of each mode.  相似文献

The dynamics of quantum discord for two identical qubits in two independent single-mode cavities and a common single-mode cavity are discussed. For the initial Bell state with correlated spins, while the entanglement sudden death can occur, the quantum discord vanishes only at discrete moments in the independent cavities and never vanishes in the common cavity. Interestingly, quantum discord and entanglement show opposite behavior in the common cavity, unlike in the independent cavities. For the initial Bell state with anti-correlated spins, quantum discord and entanglement behave in the same way for both independent cavities and a common cavity. It is found that the detunings always stabilize the quantum discord.  相似文献

We study the time evolution of classical and quantum correlations for hybrid qubit-qutrit systems in independent and common dephasing environments. Our discussion involves a comparative analysis of the Markovian dynamics of negativity, quantum discord, geometric measure of quantum discord and classical correlation. For the case of independent environments, we have demonstrated the phenomenon of sudden transition between classical and quantum decoherence for qubit-qutrit states. In the common environment case, we have shown that dynamics of quantum and geometric discords might be completely independent of each other for a certain time interval, although they tend to be eventually in accord.  相似文献

We propose a scheme to generate and detect quantum coherence and quantum entanglement in a spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensate with the help of spin squeezing parameter and quantum Fisher information. It is shown that quantum coherence and quantum entanglement are independent of the Rabi frequency and the better entanglement can be achieved by increasing the number of atoms.  相似文献

The uncertainty principle is a crucial aspect of quantum mechanics.It has been shown that quantum entanglement as well as more general notions of correlations,such as quantum discord,can relax or tighten the entropic uncertainty relation in the presence of an ancillary system.We explored the behaviour of entropic uncertainty relations for system of two qubits—one of which subjects to several forms of independent quantum noise,in both Markovian and non-Markovian regimes.The uncertainties and their lower bounds,identified by the entropic uncertainty relations,increase under independent local unital Markovian noisy channels,but they may decrease under non-unital channels.The behaviour of the uncertainties(and lower bounds)exhibit periodical oscillations due to correlation dynamics under independent non-Markovian reservoirs.In addition,we compare different entropic uncertainty relations in several special cases and find that discord-tightened entropic uncertainty relations offer in general a better estimate of the uncertainties in play.  相似文献

We investigate the necessary conditions for the existence of sudden transition or sudden change phenomenon for appropriate initial states under dephasing. As illustrative examples, we study the behaviors of quantum correlation dynamics of two noninteracting qubits in independent and common open spin environments, respectively. For the independent environments case, we find that the quantum correlation dynamics is closely related to the Loschmidt echo and the dynamics exhibits a sudden transition from classical to quantum correlation decay. It is also shown that the sudden change phenomenon may occur for the common environment case and stationary quantum discord is found at the high temperature region of the environment. Finally, we investigate the quantum criticality of the open spin environment by exploring the probability distribution of the Loschmidt echo and the scaling transformation behavior of quantum discord, respectively.  相似文献

We provide a detailed analysis of the dynamics of entanglement and quantum correlations for one-parameter qubit-qutrit states under independent or common classical noises influence. Namely the static noise, the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck (OU) noise and the random telegraph noise. Independently of the intrinsic features of the noises, entanglement measured by negativity and quantum correlations measured by measured-induced disturbance (MID) vanish after a finite time under the effects of independent noise environments. In a common environment setup, we show the existence of specific and very important features of perfect insulation of the systems quantum properties from noise effects, for suitable range of the entanglement parameter. We refer these phenomena to as frozen entanglement and frozen quantum correlations. The dichotomy between entanglement (separability) and quantum correlations is strengthened by our results, with the robustness of MID over entanglement and existence of separable qubit-qutrit states with non-zero quantum correlations.  相似文献

We demonstrate experimentally a protocol of transferring nonclassical quantum properties using two pairs of quantum-correlated twin beams in the continuous variable regime. The intensity quantum correlation from one twin beam is transferred to two initially independent idler beams with the help of a displacement transformation. It makes two originally independent beams exhibit an intensity quantum correlation of 0.8 dB below shot-noise level.  相似文献

The charging process of a quantum battery (i.e., a two-level system) is studied in two scenarios, that is, a quantum battery and a charger are coupled to the common reservoir environments or coupled to their respective independent environments. In the common reservoir scenario, it is shown that the optimal charging process can be realized by increasing the number of environments and setting the same coupling strength between battery-reservoirs and charger-reservoirs. In the independent reservoir scenario, however, it is shown that decreasing either the number of reservoir environments or the coupling strength would enhance the charging performance. These results demonstrate that the charging performance of quantum batteries can be significantly improved by constructing common environments. This may be of help to the realization of the quantum battery with optimal charging performance in multiple environments.  相似文献

Quantum correlation of a general bipartite quantum state may contain not only entanglement but also the ingredient that cannot be accounted for by entanglement. In this paper, we study the dynamics of quantum correlation by virtue of quantum discord, in particular the transfer of quantum correlation in the absence of entanglement. The considered model consists of two correlated qubits with each one being coupled to an independent reservoir. We show that the reservoirs which are initially in product state can be induced quantum correlation even when the qubits are initially in separate state.  相似文献

We study a double quantum dot (DQD) coupled to a strongly biased quantum point contact (QPC), each embedded in independent electric circuits. For weak interdot tunneling we observe a finite current flowing through the Coulomb blockaded DQD in response to a strong bias on the QPC. The direction of the current through the DQD is determined by the relative detuning of the energy levels of the two quantum dots. The results are interpreted in terms of a quantum ratchet phenomenon in a DQD energized by a nearby QPC.  相似文献

Quantum hidden problem being one of the most important quantum computation problems has been widely investigated. Our purpose in this paper is to prove the independent or partial independent of the reduced state derived from the quantum query with the oracle implementation. We prove that if without bias on implementation functions the subgroup state is independent of evaluation functions using the group representation. It is commonly assumed that quantum field theory arises by applying ordinary quantum mechanics to the low energy effective degrees of freedom of a more fundamental theory defined at ultra-high-energy/short-wavelength scales. We shall argue here that, even for free quantum fields, there are holistic aspects of quantum field theory that cannot be properly understood in this manner. Specifically, the subtractions needed to define nonlinear polynomial functions of a free quantum field in curved spacetime are quite simple and natural from the quantum field theoretic point of view, but are at best extremely ad hoc and unnatural if viewed as independent renormalizations of individual modes of the field. We illustrate this point by contrasting the analysis of the Casimir effect, the renormalization of the stress-energy tensor in time-dependent spacetimes, and anomalies from the point of quantum field theory and from the point of view of quantum mechanics applied to the independent low energy modes of the field. Some implications for the cosmological constant problem are discussed.  相似文献

This paper investigates the change of entanglement for transmitting an arbitrarily entangled two-qubit pure state via one of three typical kinds of noisy quantum channels: amplitude damping quantum channel, phase damping quantum channel and depolarizing quantum channel. It finds, in all these three cases, that the output distant entanglement (measured by concurrence) reduces proportionately with respect to its initial amount, and the decaying ratio is determined only by the noisy characteristics of quantum channels and independent of the form of initial input state.  相似文献

We discuss a model for quantum computing with initially mixed states. Although such a computer is known to be less powerful than a quantum computer operating with pure (entangled) states, it may efficiently solve some problems for which no efficient classical algorithms are known. We suggest a new implementation of quantum computation with initially mixed states in which an algorithm realization is achieved by means of optimal basis independent transformations of qubits.  相似文献

For classical random walks, changing or not changing coins makes a trivial influence on the random-walk behaviors. In this paper, we investigate the quantum walk where a walker’s movement is controlled by two initially independent coins alternately partially or fully after each step. We observe that there exist complicated inter-coin correlations in the quantum walk. Specifically, we study the correlations of two coins by tracing out the walker, and analyze classical, general, and quantum correlations between two coins in terms of classical mutual information, quantum mutual information, and measurement-induced disturbance. Our analysis shows different quantum features from that in classical random walks.
