This article introduces a new structure of commutative semiring, generalizing the tropical semiring, and having an arithmetic that modifies the standard tropical operations, i.e., summation and maximum. Although our framework is combinatorial, notions of regularity and invertibility arise naturally for matrices over this semiring; we show that a tropical matrix is invertible if and only if it is regular.  相似文献

We show that every closed ideal of a Segal algebra on a compact group admits a central approximate identity which has the property, called condition (U), that the induced multiplication operators converge to the identity operator uniformly on compact sets of the ideal. This result extends a known one due to H. Reiter who has considered the problem under the condition that the Segal algebra is symmetric. We prove further that a closed right ideal of a Segal algebra on a compact group admits a left approximate identity satisfying condition (U) if and only if it is approximately complemented as a subspace of the Segal algebra; if in addition the Segal algebra is symmetric, then a closed left ideal admits a right approximate identity satisfying condition (U) if and only if it is approximately complemented.  相似文献

π-complemented algebras are defined as those algebras (not necessarily associative or unital) such that each annihilator ideal is complemented by other annihilator ideal. Let A be a semiprime algebra. We prove that A is π-complemented if, and only if, every idempotent in the extended centroid of A lies in the centroid of A. We also show the existence of a smallest π-complemented subalgebra of the central closure of A containing A. In the case that A is a C*-algebra, this subalgebra turns out to be a norm dense *-subalgebra of the bounded central closure of A. It follows that a C*-algebra is boundedly centrally closed if, and only if, it is π-complemented.  相似文献

Abstract

An algebra 𝒜 has the endomorphism kernel property if every congruence on 𝒜 different from the universal congruence is the kernel of an endomorphism on 𝒜. We first consider this property when 𝒜 is a finite distributive lattice, and show that it holds if and only if 𝒜 is a cartesian product of chains. We then consider the case where 𝒜 is an Ockham algebra, and describe in particular the structure of the finite de Morgan algebras that have this property.  相似文献

The Alu? algebra is an algebraic definition of a characteristic cycle of a hypersurface in intersection theory. In this paper, we study the Alu? algebra of quasi-homogeneous and locally Eulerian hypersurfaces with only isolated singularities. We prove that the Jacobian ideal of an a?ne hypersurface with isolated singularities is of linear type if and only if it is locally Eulerian. We show that the gradient ideal of a projective hypersurface with only isolated singularities is of linear type if and only if the a?ne curve in each a?ne chart associated to singular points is locally Eulerian. We show that the gradient ideal of Nodal and Cuspidal projective plane curves are of linear type.  相似文献

Jacobson proved that if a Lie algebra admits an invertible derivation, it must be nilpotent. He also suspected, though incorrectly, that the converse might be true: that every nilpotent Lie algebra has an invertible derivation. We prove that a Lie algebra is nilpotent if and only if it admits an invertible Leibniz-derivation. The proofs are elementary in nature and are based on well-known techniques. We only consider finite-dimensional Lie algebras over a fields of characteristic zero.  相似文献

We determine the representation type of the algebras whose quiver has precisely two vertices and admits no loops by listing all minimal wild algebras of this form. It turns out that such an algebra A is tame if and only if A/rad3 A is tame, and in this case A degenerates to a special biserial algebra. The aim of this paper is to characterize representable and weak representable effect algebras and establish a representation theory of effect algebras. An effect algebra E is said to be representable if there exists a Hilbert space H and a monomorphism π from E into the Hilbert space effect algebra ε(H) and it is said to be weakly representable if there exists an injective morphism from E into some ε(H). It is proved that an effect algebra E with the nonempty state space S(E) is representable if and only if x, y ∈ E, f(x)+f(y) ≤ 1 implies x⊕y is defined; it is weakly representable if and only if the state space S(E) separates the points of E. Some operational properties of representable effect algebras are established, and some applications of the obtained results are listed.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the Lie algebras in which every subspace is its subalgebra (denoted by HB Lie algebras). We get that a nonabelian Lie algebra is an HB Lie algebra if and only if it is isomorphic to g+Cidg, where g is an abelian Lie algebra. Abstract

Let I(X, F) denote the incidence algebra of the locally finite partially ordered set, X, defined over the field, F. This paper considers when the set of torsion elements of I(X, F) forms a group. If F is of finite characteristic, it is shown that the torsion elements of I(X, F) form a group if and only if X is bounded, while if F is of characteristic 0, the torsion elements of the incidence algebra form a group if and only if X is an antichain.  相似文献

The role played by fields in relation to Galois Rings corresponds to semifields if the associativity is dropped, that is, if we consider Generalized Galois Rings instead of (associative) Galois rings. If S is a Galois ring and pS is the set of zero divisors in S, S* = S\ pS is known to be a finite {multiplicative} Abelian group that is cyclic if, and only if, S is a finite field, or S = ?/n? with n = 4 or n = p r for some odd prime p. Without associativity, S* is not a group, but a loop. The question of when this loop can be generated by a single element is addressed in this article.  相似文献

An algebra A is said to be congruence permutable if any two congruences on it are permutable. This property has been investigated in several varieties of algebras, for example, de Morgan algebras, p-algebras, Kn,0-algebras. In this paper, we study the class of symmetric extended de Morgan algebras that are congruence permutable. In particular we consider the case where A is finite, and show that A is congruence permutable if and only if it is isomorphic to a direct product of finitely many simple algebras.  相似文献

We study ω‐categorical weakly o‐minimal expansions of Boolean lattices. We show that a structure ?? = (A,≤, ?) expanding a Boolean lattice (A,≤) by a finite sequence I of ideals of A closed under the usual Heyting algebra operations is weakly o‐minimal if and only if it is ω‐categorical, and hence if and only if A/I has only finitely many atoms for every I ∈ ?. We propose other related examples of weakly o‐minimal ω‐categorical models in this framework, and we examine the internal structure of these models.  相似文献

π-complemented algebras are defined as those (not necessarily associative or unital) algebras such that each annihilator ideal is complemented by other annihilator ideal. For a given semiprime algebra A, we discuss the π-complementation of the unitisation algebra A 1 of A. Moreover, if in addition the multiplication algebra ?(A) of A is also semiprime, we study the π-complementation in the algebras ?(A) and ??(A) (the multiplication ideal of A). In associative setting, we prove that A is π-complemented if and only if ??(A) is π-complemented, and that A 1 π-complemented if and only if ?(A) is π-complemented.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the Lie algebras in which every subspace is its subalgebra (denoted by HB Lie algebras). We get that a nonabelian Lie algebra is an HB Lie algebra if and only if it is isomorphic to $g\dot{+}\mathbb{C}id_g$, where $g$ is an abelian Lie algebra. The commuting graph of a ring R, denoted by Γ(R), is a graph of all whose vertices are noncentral elements of R, and 2 distinct vertices x and y are adjacent if and only if xy = yx. In this article we investigate some graph-theoretic properties of Γ(kG), where G is a finite group, k is a field, and 0 ≠ |G| ∈k. Among other results it is shown that if G is a finite nonabelian group and k is an algebraically closed field, then Γ(kG) is not connected if and only if |G| = 6 or 8. For an arbitrary field k, we prove that Γ(kG) is connected if G is a nonabelian finite simple group or G′ ≠ G″ and G″ ≠ 1.  相似文献
