We derive a theoretical explanation of the similarities which have been experimentally observed between final state distributions in soft processes (K ? p interactions andpp collisions at ISR) and hard processes (e + e ? annihilations and deep inelastic scattering). The theoretical framework is the correspondence between QCD and dual topological unitarization (DTU), which expresses confinement as the equivalence of the hadron and parton bases to account for unitarity. Starting from the interpretation of the zero handle topology in DTU in terms of the naive quark parton model, we show how to characterize gluons in the hadron basis: primordial gluons are associated with the one handle topology, and the cascading of hard gluons is related to the sum of all higher topologies in DTU. We get this way a QCD interpretation of the reggeon calculus which is the theoretical framework of soft hadronic processes at asymptotic energies.  相似文献

We discuss what can be learned from the 3S1 quarkonium decay QQ → 3 gluons, QQ → γ + 2 gluons. The former is a way to find gluon jets and test QCD. The latter also allows us to measure gluon + gluon → hadrons, and look for pure gluonic resonances (glueballs).  相似文献

We give a simplified proof of the following important theorem,which is due to Borchers. Let be a von Neumann algebra with cyclic and separating vector and let U(t), t R, be a group with positive generator, which leaves fixed and induces for positive arguments endomorphisms of . We study the positive mass theorem for certain non-smooth metrics following P. Miao’s work. Our approach is to smooth the metric using the Ricci flow. As well as improving some previous results on the behaviour of the ADM mass under the Ricci flow, we extend the analysis of the zero mass case to higher dimensions.  相似文献

We derive asymptotic freedom of gluons in terms of the renormalized SU(3) Yang–Mills Hamiltonian in the Fock space. Namely, we use the renormalization group procedure for effective particles to calculate the three-gluon interaction term in the front-form Yang–Mills Hamiltonian using a perturbative expansion in powers of g up to third order. The resulting three-gluon vertex is a function of the scale parameter s that has an interpretation of the size of effective gluons. The corresponding Hamiltonian running coupling constant exhibits asymptotic freedom, and the corresponding Hamiltonian \({\beta}\) -function coincides with the one obtained in an earlier calculation using a different generator.  相似文献

We discuss a version of Pythagoras theorem in noncommutative geometry. Usual Pythagoras theorem can be formulated in terms of Connes’ distance, between pure states, in the product of commutative spectral triples. We investigate the generalization to both non-pure states and arbitrary spectral triples. We show that Pythagoras theorem is replaced by some Pythagoras inequalities, that we prove for the product of arbitrary (i.e. non-necessarily commutative) spectral triples, assuming only some unitality condition. We show that these inequalities are optimal, and we provide non-unital counter-examples inspired by K-homology.  相似文献

Contributions of sea quark and gluon spins to the proton spin in Drell-Jahn processes and direct production of photons in proton-proton and proton-antiproton collisions are studied in the present work. Analytical expressions for two-spin asymmetries and are derived. In both processes, these asymmetries are studied and analyzed as functions of the kinematic variables , x T, and x F. Measurements of two-spin asymmetries and make it possible to determine the individual contributions of sea quark and gluon spins to the proton spin.  相似文献

A general approach to derivation of formally exact closed time-local or time-nonlocal evolution equations for non-equilibrium multi-time correlations functions made of observables of an open quantum system interacting simultaneously with external time-dependent classical fields and dissipative environment is discussed. Hypothesis of quark binding through condensation of gluons inside hadrons is formulated in the context of a renormalization group procedure for effective particles (RGPEP) in the light-front (LF) Hamiltonian approach to QCD. At the momentum scales of relative motion of hadronic constituents that are comparable with Λ QCD , the hypothetical boost-invariant constituent dynamics is identified using gauge symmetry. The resulting picture of mesons and baryons closely resembles constituent quark models with harmonic oscillator potentials, shares some features of AdS/QCD, and can be systematically studied using RGPEP in QCD.  相似文献

The validity of the Gyarmati theorem has been extended to non-linear types of constitutive equations governing dissipative processes which have recently been suggested. It has been proved that by extending the validity of the theorem, the validity of Gyarmati's variational principle of thermodynamics is guaranted for non-linear theories adequate to constitutive equations in question as well. In a low-pressure discharge, plasma-enhanced decomposition of silane proceeds by various channels including electron-impact, ion- and radical-induced, and heterogeneous reactions. The results of several experiments are presented to clarify the relative importance of the processes. The conclusions of these studies and associated analysis are that the dominant processes are strongly influenced by the gas residence time, the power density input, and the electronegative characteristics of the silane discharge.  相似文献
