Zur synthese von difluormethylethern verschieden substituierter pyrimidinnucleoside durch reaktion mit difluorcarben

The reaction of CF₂ with different substituted persilylated pyrimidine nucleosides either in the ribo-, 2′-deoxyrigo- or in the arabino-series gave the corresponding 4-0-difluoromethylethers. Optimum yields were obtained using Hg(CF₃)₂ as source of CF₂.     

Synthetic approach to anthracyclinone C-glycosides

Stereospecific coupling of a pentadienyl chain to C.1 of daunosamine followed by Diels-Alder reactions with quinones gave a new synthesis of C-glycosides, including the first intermediates to anthracycline C-glycosyl isosteres.     

Synthetische Metalle

Vom 2. bis 7. September 1990 wurde in Tübingen die „International Conference on Science and Technology of Synthetic Metals”︁ (ICSM '90) abgehalten. Neben der traditionsgemäß starken Beteiligung aus den USA, Westeuropa und Japan waren erstmalig auch viele Chemiker aus der DDR, der Sowjetunion und China vertreten; zusammen nahezu 1000 (!) Teilnehmer.

Synthetic Biology continues the work done in genetic engineering and molecular biology. It pursues an engineering approach in intervening in biological processes on various levels (genes, metabolic pathways, cells) or constructing them de novo. In biotechnology, synthetic biology aims at cost‐saving methods and very pure products. However, this new field raises questions about ethical, legal and social implications.
