The adsorption of CO2 on pore-expanded SBA-15 mesostructured silica functionalized with amino groups was studied. The synthesis of conventional SBA-15 was modified to obtain pore-expanded materials, with pore diameters from 11 to 15 nm. Post-synthesis functionalization treatments were carried out by grafting with diethylenetriamine (DT) and by impregnation with tetraethylenepentamine (TEPA) and polyethyleneimine (PEI). The adsorbents were characterized by X-ray diffraction, N2 adsorption–desorption at 77 K, elemental analysis and Transmission Electron Microscopy. CO2 capture was studied by using a volumetric adsorption technique at 45 °C. Consecutive adsorption–desorption experiments were also conducted to check the cyclic behaviour of adsorbents in CO2 capture. An improvement in CO2 adsorption capacity and efficiency of amino groups was found for pore-expanded SBA-15 impregnated materials in comparison with their counterparts prepared from conventional SBA-15 with smaller pore size. PEI and TEPA-based adsorbents reached significant CO2 uptakes at 45 °C and 1 bar (138 and 164 mg CO2/g, respectively), with high amine efficiencies (0.33 and 0.37 mol CO2/mol N), due to the positive effect of the larger pore diameter in the diffusion and accessibility of organic groups. Pore-expanded SBA-15 samples grafted with DT and impregnated with PEI showed a good stability after several adsorption–desorption cycles of pure CO2. PEI-impregnated adsorbent was tested in a fixed bed reactor with a diluted gas mixture containing 15 % CO2, 5 % O2, 80 % Ar and water (45 °C, 1 bar). A noteworthy adsorption capacity of 171 mg CO2/g was obtained in these conditions, which simulate flue gas after the desulphurization step in a thermal power plant.  相似文献

Ion-exchange with different cations (Na+, NH4 +, Li+, Ba2+ and Fe3+) was performed in binderless 13X zeolite pellets. Original and cation-exchanged samples were characterized by thermogravimetric analysis coupled with mass spectrometry (inert atmosphere), X-ray powder diffraction and N2 adsorption/desorption isotherms at 77 K. Despite the presence of other cations than Na (as revealed in TG-MS), crystalline structure and textural properties were not significantly altered upon ion-exchange. Single component equilibrium adsorption isotherms of carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) were measured for all samples up to 10 bar at 298 and 348 K using a magnetic suspension balance. All of these isotherms are type Ia and maximum adsorption capacities decrease in the order Li > Na > NH4–Ba > Fe for CO2 and NH4–Na > Li > Ba for CH4. In addition to that, equilibrium adsorption data were measured for CO2/CH4 mixtures for representative compositions of biogas (50 % each gas, in vol.) and natural gas (30 %/70 %, in vol.) in order to assess CO2 selectivity in such scenarios. The application of the Extended Sips Model for samples BaX and NaX led to an overall better agreement with experimental data of binary gas adsorption as compared to the Extended Langmuir Model. Fresh sample LiX show promise to be a better adsorption than NaX for pressure swing separation (CO2/CH4), due to its higher working capacity, selectivity and lower adsorption enthalpy. Nevertheless, cation stability for both this samples and NH4X should be further investigated.  相似文献

A one-pot template-free route was developed for the synthesis of novel tetraethylenepentamine modified porous silica as CO2 adsorbents, the obtained materials were characterized by N2 adsorption/desorption, thermogravimetry, elemental analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectrometry, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. It was found that the amine species were inserted into the silica skeleton, which considerably enhanced their dispersion. Compared with similar materials derived from impregnation, the porous structure of the silica can be better reserved, leading to a promising CO2 adsorption capacity of 3.98 mmol CO2/g-adsorbent and a fast adsorption kinetic in simulated flue gas at 348 K. The resulted adsorbents could also be easily regenerated and showed a good durability in multiple adsorption–desorption cycles. All these features make this method a promising option for the preparation of CO2 adsorbents.  相似文献

Four nanoporous carbons obtained from different polymers: polypyrrole, polyvinylidene fluoride, sulfonated styrene–divinylbenzene resin, and phenol–formaldehyde resin, were investigated as potential adsorbents for carbon dioxide. CO2 adsorption isotherms measured at eight temperatures between 0 and 60 °C were used to study adsorption properties of these polymer-derived carbons, especially CO2 uptakes at ambient pressure and different temperatures, working capacity, and isosteric heat of adsorption. The specific surface areas and the volumes of micropores and ultramicropores estimated for these materials by using the density functional theory-based software for pore size analysis ranged from 840 to 1990 m2 g?1, from 0.22 to 1.47 cm3 g?1, and from 0.18 to 0.64 cm3 g?1, respectively. The observed differences in the nanoporosity of these carbons had a pronounced effect on the CO2 adsorption properties. The highest CO2 uptakes, 6.92 mmol g?1 (0 °C, 1 atm) and 1.89 mmol g?1 (60 °C, 1 atm), were obtained for the polypyrrole-derived activated carbon prepared through a single carbonization-KOH activation step. The working capacity for this adsorbent was estimated to be 3.70 mmol g?1. Depending on the adsorbent, the CO2 isosteric heats of adsorption varied from 32.9 to 16.3 kJ mol?1 in 0–2.5 mmol g?1 range. Overall, the carbons studied showed well-developed microporosity and exceptional CO2 adsorption, which make them viable candidates for CO2 capture, and for other adsorption and environmental-related applications.  相似文献

UiO-66 amine functionalized was synthesized by solvothermal method. Post-synthetic modification of UiO-66-NH2 with piperazine, a known promoter to enhance the chemisorption rate of CO2 uptake, was carried out and analyzed to understand its crystalline structure, morphology and porous structure. Results show that piperazine is an effective agent for enhancing the capacity of absorption of CO2. This porous product exhibits an improved CO2 uptake at pressures up to 3000 kPa via physisorption and chemisorption mechanisms. The CH4 adsorption and desorption isotherms on UiO-66, UiO-66-NH2 and pip-UiO-66-NH2 at temperature of 298.15 K and pressures ranging from 0 to 5000 kPa were carried out. IAS theory for a mixture of 0.05 bar CO2, 0.85 bar CH4 and 0.1 bar other gas revealed a selectivity factor of 19.09 for CO2/CH4 from pip-UiO-66-NH2. Results show that these materials are effective adsorbents for CO2 and CH4 uptakes.  相似文献

The adsorption behaviors of CO2 and CH4 on new siliceous zeolites JSR and NanJSR (n = 2, 8, 16) were simulated using the Grand Canonical Monte Carlo method. The adsorption isotherms of CO2 became higher with an increase in the Na+ number at a low pressure range (<150 kPa), whereas the isotherms showed a crossover with increasing pressure and the adsorption amount became smaller at a high pressure range (>850 kPa). With an increase in Na+ number, the pore volume decreased as the pore space was occupied by increasing Na+ ions. Additionally, two energy peaks on the interaction energy curves implied that CO2 was adsorbed on two active sites. On the other hand, the adsorption amount of CH4 decreased with an increase in the Na+ number and only one energy peak was observed. Adsorption isotherms were well fitted with the Langmuir and Freundlich equations up to 1000 kPa and the adsorption affinity of CO2 on Na16JSR zeolite was highest. The adsorption capacities of CO2 in the studied zeolites were up to 38 times higher than those of CH4. Diffusion constants of CO2 and CH4 decreased with an increase in the adsorbed amount and Na+ number. Considering the adsorbed amount, adsorption selectivity and affinity, zeolites JSR with a low Na+ number (JSR and Na2JSR) is a good candidate for a pressure swing adsorption in the separation of CO2/CH4 mixture whereas JSR zeolites with high Na+ ratios (Na16JSR and Na8JSR) may be a better selection for a vacuum swing adsorption.  相似文献

Polyethylenimine (PEI) and titanium dioxide nanoparticles (nano-TiO2) functionalized poly- HIPE beads were synthesized by suspension polymerization of styrene/divinylbenzene high internal phase emulsion (HIPE) containing PEI and nano-TiO2 particles in inner phase. The products are uniform and spherical beads with average diameter of 1 mm. Characterization results showed good thermal stability and desired mechanical strength. CO2 adsorption tests were performed with CO2/H2O/N2 (1 : 1 : 8) gas mixture. Nano-TiO2 particles distinctly improved the CO2 adsorption performance of the polyHIPE beads, resulting in enhanced CO2 adsorption capacity and fast adsorption/desorption kinetics. Besides, the functionalized polyHIPE beads exhibited remarkable cycle stability.  相似文献

In this work, the films of poly(ether-block-amide) (Pebax 1657) and hydrophilic/hydrophobic silica nanoparticles (0–10 wt%) were coated on a poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) ultrafiltration membrane to form new mixed matrix composite membranes (MMCMs) for CO2/N2 separation. The membranes were characterized by SEM, FTIR, DSC and XRD. Successful formation of a non-porous defect-free dense top layer with ~4 μm of thickness and also uniform dispersion of silica nanoparticles up to 8 wt% loading in Pebax matrix were confirmed by SEM images. The gas permeation results showed an increase in the permeance of all gases and an increase in ideal CO2/N2 selectivity with the increase in silica nanoparticle contents. Comparison between the incorporation of hydrophilic and hydrophobic silica nanoparticle into Pebax matrix revealed that the great enhancement of CO2 solubility is the key factor for the performance improvement of Pebax + silica nanoparticle membranes. The best separation performance of the hydrophilic silica nanoparticle-incorporated Pebax/PVC membrane for pure gases (at 1 bar and 25 °C) was obtained with a CO2 permeability of 124 barrer and an ideal CO2/N2 selectivity of 76, i.e., 63 and 35% higher than those of neat Pebax membrane, respectively. The corresponding values for hydrophobic silica nanoparticle-incorporated Pebax/PVC membrane were 107 barrer for CO2 permeability and 61 for ideal CO2/N2 selectivity. Also the performances of MMCMs improved upon pressure increase (1–10 bar) owing to the shift in plasticizing effect of CO2 towards the higher pressures. In addition, an increase in permeabilities with a decrease in ideal selectivity was observed upon temperature increase (25–50 °C) due to the intensification of chain mobility.  相似文献

Three different aminosilanes ((3-aminopropyl)trimethoxysilane (1NS), N-[3-(trimethoxysilyl) propyl]ethylenediamine (2NS), N1-(3-trimethoxysilylpropyl)diethylenetriamine (3NS)) were grafted covalently inside nanoporous silica (NPS-1) with a large surface area to prepare CO2 adsorbents. The prepared CO2 sorbents were evaluated for their CO2 sorption capacity, kinetic behavior, temperature programmed desorption (TPD) and textural properties. Grafting efficiency of 1NS was better due to the smaller molecular size compared to 2NS and 3NS, which are difficult to react with the hydroxyl group of the silica surface due to steric hindrance. The highest adsorption capacity of 7.0 wt% was observed for the 2NS/NPS-1 adsorbent, followed by 5.2 wt% for 1NS/NPS-1, then 5.0 wt% for 3NS/NPS-1. The adsorption capacity of 2NS/NPS-1 was highest at 30 °C, and it gradually decreased as the adsorption temperature increased. TPD analysis showed that the reaction of primary amine of 2NS with CO2 inside the nanoporous silica could form less thermally stable carbamic acid and carbamate compared to 1NS and 3NS.  相似文献

Waste ion-exchange resin was utilized as precursor to produce activated carbon by KOH chemical activation, on which the effects of different activation temperatures, activation times and impregnation ratios were studied in this paper. The CO2 adsorption of the produced activated carbon was tested by TGA at 30 °C and environment pressure. Furthermore, the effects of preparation parameters on CO2 adsorption were investigated. Experimental results show that the produced activated carbons are microporous carbons, which are suitable for CO2 adsorption. The CO2 adsorption capacity increases firstly and then decreases with the increase of activation temperature, activation time and impregnation rate. The maximum adsorption capacity is 81.24 mg/g under the condition of 30 °C and pure CO2. The results also suggest that waste ion-exchange resin-based activated carbons possess great potential as adsorbents for post-combustion CO2 capture.  相似文献

A H3PW12O40/ZrO2 catalyst for effective dimethyl carbonate (DMC) formation via methanol carbonation was prepared using the sol–gel method. X-ray photoelectron spectra showed that reactive and dominant (63%) W(VI) species, in WO3 or H2WO4, enhanced the catalytic performances of the supported ZrO2. The mesoporous structure of H3PW12O40/ZrO2 was identified by nitrogen adsorption–desorption isotherms. In particular, partial sintering of catalyst particles in the duration of methanol carbonation caused a decrease in the Brunauer–Emmett–Teller surface area of the catalyst from 39 to 19 m2/g. The strong acidity of H3PW12O40/ZrO2 was confirmed by the desorption peak observed at 415 °C in NH3 temperature-programmed desorption curve. At various reaction temperatures (T?=?110, 170, and 220 °C) and CO2/N2 volumetric flow rate ratios (CO2/N2?=?1/4, 1/7, and 1/9), the calculated catalytic performances showed that the optimal methanol conversion, DMC selectivity, and DMC yield were 4.45, 89.93, and 4.00%, respectively, when T?=?170 °C and CO2/N2?=?1/7. Furthermore, linear regression of the pseudo-first-order model and Arrhenius equation deduced the optimal rate constant (4.24?×?10?3 min?1) and activation energy (Ea?=?15.54 kJ/mol) at 170 °C with CO2/N2?=?1/7 which were favorable for DMC formation.  相似文献

Given the great interest in the CO2 removal and decreasing their impact on the environment, in this work, a calorimetric study of CO2 adsorption on different activated carbons was performed. For this purpose, we used two methodologies for the determination heat of CO2 adsorption: determination of CO2 isotherms at different temperatures and adsorption calorimetry. The heats determined by these two techniques were compared. In this regard, carbonaceous materials of granular and monolithic types were prepared, characterized, and functionalized for carbon dioxide adsorption. As precursor material, African palm stones that were activated with H3PO4 and CaCl2 at different concentrations was used. The obtained materials were functionalized in gas phase with NH3 and liquid phase with NH4OH, with the intention to incorporate the surface basic groups (amines or nitrogen groups) and subsequently were studied for CO2 adsorption at 273 K and atmospheric pressure. For characterization of these materials, the following techniques are used: N2 adsorption at 77 K and immersion calorimetry in different solvents. The experimental results show the obtaining of micropores and mesoporous (moderately) materials, with surface area between 430 and 1,425 m2 g?1 and pore volumes between 0.17 and 0.53 cm3 g?1. It was determined that there is a difference between the heats of CO2 adsorption obtained by the techniques employed. This deviation between the values corresponds to the methodological difference between the two experiments. In this work, we obtained a maximum adsorption capacity of CO2, which is greater than 334 mg CO2 g?1 at 273 K and 1 bar in carbon materials with moderate surface area and pores volume.  相似文献

Global warming is considered as one of the great challenges of the twenty‐first century. Application of CO2 capture and storage technologies to flue gas is considered to be a useful method of lessening global warning. Highly porous carbon has played an important role in tackling energy and environmental problems. We attempted to synthesize a highly porous carbon adsorbent by carbonizing a highly crystalline metal–organic framework (MOF) without any carbon precursors and focused on the adsorption of CO2 and CH4 gases and CO2/CH4 selectivity at 298, 323 and 348 K using a volumetric apparatus. The MOF‐derived porous carbon (MDC) was prepared by direct carbonization of MOF‐199 as a template at 900 °C under nitrogen atmosphere. Amino‐impregnated MDC samples exhibited enhanced adsorption capacities by a combination of physical and chemical adsorption. Polyethyleneimine (PEI) was selected as the amine source, which was found to greatly enhance CO2 capture when supported on the porous carbon. Novel PEI‐impregnated MDC nanocomposites were synthesized by wetness impregnation and then characterized using various methods.  相似文献

We evaluated the ability of CO2 adsorption in functionalized activated carbons granular and monolithic type, obtained by chemical activation of African palm stone with H3PO4 and CaCl2. We made a comparison between two methods of incorporation of nitrogen groups: the impregnation method with NH4OH solution and NH3 gasification. The materials were texturally characterized by N2 adsorption at 77 K, the isotherms shows obtaining microporous materials with surface areas between 545–1425 m2?g?1 and pore volumes between 0.22 to 0.53 cm3?g?1. It was established that with the methodologies used for functionalization is increased content of nitrogen groups, was achieved a higher proportion of such groups when carrying out the process in liquid phase with NH4OH. The incorporation of nitrogen groups in the material generates an increase of up to 65 % in the CO2 adsorption capacity of the MCa2 (Monolith prepared with CaCl2 solution at 2 %) sample. Was reached a maximum adsorption capacity of 344 mgCO2?g?1 in the MCa2FAL (sample MCa2 functionalized with NH4OH solution) sample.  相似文献

CO2-derived succinate production was enhanced by Actinobacillus succinogenes through polystyrene (PSt) microsphere materials for CO2 adsorption in bioreactor, and the adhesion forces between A. succinogenes bacteria and PSt materials were characterized. Synthesized uniformly sized and highly cross-linked PSt microspheres had high specific surface areas. After modification with amine functional groups, the novel amine-functionalized PSt microspheres exhibited a high adsorption capacity of 25.3 mg CO2/g materials. After addition with the functionalized microspheres into the culture broth, CO2 supply to the cells increased. Succinate production by A. succinogenes can be enhanced from 29.6 to 48.1 g L?1. Moreover, the characterization of interaction forces between A. succinogenes cells and the microspheres indicated that the maximal adhesive force was about 250 pN. The amine-functionalized PSt microspheres can adsorb a large amount of CO2 and be employed for A. succinogenes anaerobic cultivation in bioreactor for high-efficiency production of CO2-derived succinate.  相似文献

Energetic materials such as a mixture of guanidine nitrate (GN)/basic copper nitrate (BCN) are used as gas generators in automotive airbag systems. However, at the time of the airbag inflation, the gas generators release toxic combustion gases such as CO, NH3, and NOx. In this study, we investigated the combustion and thermal decomposition behaviors of GN/BCN mixture, focusing primarily on their exhaust gas composition. As a result, when the exhaust gas of the combustion under constant pressure in an inert gas stream was analyzed using a detection tube, the amount of NOx (mainly NO) yielded greater decrease with increasing atmospheric pressure as compared to the amounts of CO and NH3. Thus, provided GN/BCN is ignited in a closed container, a large amount of NOx is presumed to have been released during the initial stage of combustion, which yielded comparatively low pressure. Results of the thermogravimetry–differential scanning calorimetry–Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (TG/DSC/FTIR) indicated that the GN/BCN mixture caused endothermic decomposition at 170 °C and exothermic decomposition at 208 °C, which was accompanied by 66% mass loss. The decomposition gases, CO2, N2O, and H2O, were detected via FTIR spectrum. Because N2O was not detected in the combustion gas, it was suggested that the detected N2O was generated at a low temperature and decomposed in high-temperature combustion.  相似文献

The objective of this work is to study the influences of silica supports and PEG additive on the sorption performance of molecular basket sorbent(MBS) for CO_2 capture consisting of polyethylenimine and one of the following supports: SBA-15(2-D structure), TUD-1(3-D sponge-like structure) and fumed silica HS-5(3-D disordered structure). Effects of the supports regarding pore structures and pore properties, the PEI loading amount as well as the sorption temperature were examined. Furthermore, polyethylene glycol(PEG) was introduced as an additive into the sorbents and its effect was investigated at different PEI loadings and sorption temperatures. The results suggest that the pore properties of MBS(after PEI loading) play a more important role in the CO_2 sorption capacity, rather than those of the supports alone.MBS with 3D pore structure exhibits higher CO_2 sorption capacity and amine efficiency than those with 2D-structured support. Among the sorbents studied, fumed silica(HS-5) based MBS showed the highest CO_2 sorption capacity in the temperature range of 30-95 °C, probably due to its unique interstitial pores formed by the aggregation of polymer-loaded SiO_2 particles. It was found that the temperature dependence is directly related to the PEI surface coverage layers. The more PEI surface coverage layers, the higher diffusion barrier for CO_2 and the stronger temperature dependence of CO_2 capacity. 3D MBS exceeds 2D MBS at the same PEI coverage layers due to lower diffusion barrier. Adding PEG can significantly enhance the CO_2 sorption capacity and improve amine efficiency of all MBS, most likely by alleviating the diffusion barrier within PEI bulk layers through the inter-molecular interaction between PEI and PEG.  相似文献

Sonogashira cross‐coupling of bromophenylethenyl‐terminated cubic, double four‐ring, siloxane cages with di‐/triethynyl compounds results in microporous poly(ethynylene aryleneethenylene silsesquioxane) networks, simply termed as polyorganosiloxane networks (PSNs). In comparison with porous organic polymers reported previously, these PSNs show relatively high surface area and comparable thermal stability. Their apparent BET specific surface areas vary in the range of 850–1040 m2 g?1 depending on the length and the connectable sites of the ethynyl compounds. Analyses of pore size distribution revealed bimodal micropores with relatively narrow distribution. The degree of cross‐linking affects the degree of cleavage of the siloxane bonds, and this suggests that partial cleavage of the siloxane cages is mainly a result of cage distortion. Hydrogen adsorption was performed to evaluate potential of the PSNs as hydrogen storage media. Uptakes of up to 1.19 wt % at 77 K and 760 Torr and initial isosteric heats of adsorption as high as 8.0 kJ mol?1 were observed. These materials have been obtained by a combination of structural, synthetic organic, and materials chemistry, which can exploited to synthesize porous hybrid materials with specifically designed structures and functions.  相似文献

Ordered nanoporous carbons (ONCs) were prepared using a soft-templating method. To improve the CO2 adsorption efficiency, ONCs were chemically activated to obtain high specific surface area and micro-/mesopore volume with different KOH amounts (i.e., 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4) as an activating agent. The prepared nanoporous carbons (NCs) materials were analyzed by low-angle X-ray diffraction for confirmation of synthesized ONCs structures. The structural properties of the NCs materials were analyzed by high-angle X-ray diffraction. The textural properties of the NCs materials were examined using the N2/77 K adsorption isotherms according to the Brunauer–Emmett–Teller equation. The CO2 adsorption capacity was measured by CO2 isothermal adsorption at 298 K/1 bar. From the results, the NCs activated with KOH showed that the increasing specific surface areas and total pore volumes resulted in the enhancement of CO2 adsorption capacity.  相似文献
