Coherence rotation in dissipative reaction19F+51V

Excitation functions of the projectile-like fragments in the dissipative reaction¹⁹F+⁵¹V have been measured at θ₁ = 21.7°, 36.1° and 40.5°. The incident energies are from 102.25 to 109.50 MeV in 250 keV steps. The energy coherence width г and the rotation angular velocities ω of the corresponding dinuclear systems are extracted. The coherence rotation and its importance in the reaction process are discussed.     

A lower bound for the least eigenvalue of Δ+V

In this note we give a sufficient condition for Δ+V to be positive on a closed Riemannian manifold. We also give an application to a Bochner type vanishing theorem. This research was partially done under the E.E.C. Contract # SC 1-0105-C “GADGET” at the C.N.R.S. U.R.A. 188

The automorphism groups of the vertex operator algebras V + L : general case

In this article, we give a method of calculating the automorphism groups of the vertex operator algebras V⁺_L associated with even lattices L. For example, by using this method we determine the automorphism groups of V⁺_L for even lattices of rank one, two and three, and even unimodular lattices. The author was supported by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Research Fellowships for Young Scientists and COE grant of Hokkaido University.

On a theorem of V. V. Filippov

A new characterization of spaces having a point-countable basis is obtained. This characterization is used in giving a simpler proof of a recent theorem of Filippov. Partly supported by an N.S.F. grant.     

The average number of solutions of the Diophantine equation U 2 + V 2=W 3 and related arithmetic functions

For the number of integer solutions of the title equation, withW≤;x (x a large parameter), an asymptotics of the form Ax log x + Bx + O(x ^1/2 (log x)³ (loglog x)²) is established. This is achieved in a general setting which furnishes applications to some other natural arithmetic functions. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.     

A remark on a theorem of V. V. Andrievskii

Oxidation studies—V

Oxidation of light and heavy water by peroxy disulphate was studied at 60–70° C. The acid independent and acid dependent rate constants and respective ΔE values were computed. An attempt is made to explain the kinetic isotopic effect observed. A probable mechanism is proposed.
