The effect of gaseous and liquid nitrogen dioxide on the composition and electronic properties of porous silicon (PS) is investigated by means of optical spectroscopy and electron paramagnetic resonance. It is detected that the interaction process is weak and strong forms of chemisorption on the PS surface, and the process may be regarded as an actual chemical reaction between PS and NO(2). It is found that NO(2) adsorption consists in forming different surface nitrogen-containing molecular groups and dangling bonds of Si atoms (P(b)-centers) as well as in oxidizing and hydrating the PS surface. Also observed are the formation of ionic complexes of P(b)-centers with NO(2) molecules and the generation of free charge carriers (holes) in the volume of silicon nanocrystals forming PS.  相似文献

The physicochemical properties of surfaces have a great effect on the micro-morphologies of the crystal structures which are in contact with them.Understanding the interaction mechanism between the internal driving forces of the crystal and external inducing forces of the surfaces is the prerequisite of controlling and obtaining the desirable morphologies.In this work,the dynamic density functional theory was applied to construct the free energy functional expression of polyethylene(PE) lattice,and the micro-dynamic evolution processes of PE lattice morphology near the surfaces with different properties were observed to reveal the interaction mechanism at atomic scale.The results showed that the physical and chemical properties of the external surfaces synergistically affect the morphologies in both the defect shapes and the distribution of the defect regions.In the absence of the contact surfaces,driven by the oriented interactions among different CH2 groups,PE lattices gradually grow and form a defect-free structure.Conversely,the presence of contact surfaces leads to lattice defects in the interfacial regions,and PE lattice shows different self-healing abilities around different surfaces.  相似文献

As a continuation of a recent study of commercial wood charcoals as far as their potential production of carbon adsorbents is concerned, we have studied the influence of the final heating temperature (T) as carbonization variable in the range 250–1000 °C on the yield and on the characteristics of granular chars prepared from two very different charcoals: a holm-oak charcoal manufactured by partial combustion in a charcoal kiln and an eucalyptus charcoal industrially manufactured in a continuous furnace. Our study also includes the changes produced in both charcoals heated at 250 °C in air for 24 h, and their influences on the adsorption of water vapour at 25 °C. The samples were characterized by thermogravimetry, chemical analyses, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, densimetric measurements and mercury porosimetry. T affects the char yield, the chemical composition and the porosity of each char series differently. In particular, the total open pore volumes (to helium) of the starting charcoals, 0.475 and 1.044 cm3 g−1, increase to 0.872 and 1.293 cm3 g−1 heating up to 1000 and 500 °C, respectively. The changes by carbonization are mainly due to devolatilization; moreover, a moderate structural shrinkage occurs heating the eucalyptus charcoal at T > 500 °C. Concerning the air treatments, the yields do not present a significant difference; carbonyl groups are formed and the resulting pore structures depend on the starting charcoals. Water adsorption is larger for the eucalyptus carbons (approximately type V isotherms) than for the holm-oak carbons (type II isotherms).  相似文献

An unusual electrochemical response is found for oligoalkylthiophene (13T) films in acetonitrile. A pristine 13T film exhibits a stable redox wave in cyclic voltammogram when the anodic potential limit is below 0.6 V, whereas the redox peaks shift clearly to the negative side by ca. 0.1 V once the 13T film experiences a potential beyond 0.7 V. After this electrochemical stimulus is imposed on a pristine 13T film, the absorption and emission spectra change their features. These findings, along with the measurements with varying thicknesses of 13T films, suggest that a pristine 13T film is a mixture of two phases to be oxidized at separate potentials and that one phase can be switched to the other by the potential stimulation. A plausible model proposed for explaining these observations assumes that a key parameter characteristic of the two phases is a conformation of 13T molecules in the solid state and a change in conformation, leading to the shift of the redox potentials and the change of optical properties, is induced by electrochemical generation of bipolarons on the half units of the oligomers in the pristine 13T film.  相似文献

A series of core-shell acrylic copolymer latexes containing fluorine enriched in the shell have been prepared by emulsion polymerization of a variety of hydrocarbon monomers with (perfluoroalkyl)methyl methacrylate and vinyltriethoxysilicone. In the presence of a reactive anionic and a long chain anionic-nonionic emulsifier, the core-shell latexes were prepared and characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and tapping-mode atomic force microscopy (AFM). From AFM and contact angle measurements, it was observed that the resulting fluorine and silicon-containing acrylic copolymers with surface energy as low as 15.5 mN/m formed a dense and gradient film containing a surface layer with high a fluorine content, and that the fluorinated particles can be fixed on the surface due to the crosslinking reaction of multi-functional silicon monomer even though the fluorinated carbon number was not enough to crystallize.  相似文献

Immobilization of indene ligands onto two types of hydrogen-terminated surfaces, oxide-free Si [H/Si(111)] and oxidized Si [H/SiO2/Si], has been investigated by infrared absorption spectroscopy. The activity of a common catalyst (H2PtCl6) is shown to depend critically on the nature of the solvent. For instance, 2-propanol preferentially reacts with the surface, preventing any ligand attachment. Chlorobenzene is more stable, allowing some ligand attachment, but the H2PtCl6 catalyst also fosters silicon oxidation. In contrast, UV irradiation on oxide-free surfaces promotes a cleaner and more efficient reaction, leading to ligand attachment without substrate oxidation. The complete inactivity of H-terminated surfaces with a thin oxide layer [H/SiO2/Si] suggests that the UV-induced immobilization is mediated solely by the excitation of electron-hole pairs (excitons) in the substrate and is not the result of direct Si-H bond breaking.  相似文献

The soil properties can be strongly affected by wildfires, causing direct effects on ecosystem productivity and sustainability. These effects depend, among other things, on the soil type and on the temperature reached during the fire. The variations of thermal properties of several Galizian soils heated in an oven in laboratory conditions at different temperatures (200–500 °C) during 15 min have been examined in this study. The measured properties are heat of combustion of soil organic matter, ignition temperature, specific heat and mass loss, determined using DSC 2920 TA Instruments and a TGA 7 Perkin Elmer under dry air gas flow. In agreement with other authors, this study establishes three temperature intervals with different effects on the soil: up to 200 °C, low intensity heating, with no significant changes in thermal properties; between 200 and 350 °C, medium intensity heating, with losses of organic matter up to 50%; and high intensity heating to temperature higher than 350 °C, with harmful effects on the soil organic matter. On the other hand and taking into account that the sampled soils had been affected by forest fires, the variations of thermal soil properties with the laboratory heating temperatures allowed for an estimation of the temperature reached by the soil in the real fire.  相似文献

Surface contaminations on silicon slices and contaminations in surface layers deposited on thick silicon substrates were investigated by means of ion induced X-ray analysis. Sensitivity limits of foreign atoms are given for proton and nitrogen impact in dependence of projectile energies. They were derived using calculated K-shell ionization cross-sections as well as measured X-ray and γ-ray background spectra. The validity of the model used for characteristic cross-section calculations was proved by comparing the theoretical with experimental results. Some examples are given for the analysis of the basic material for the production of semiconductor electronic devices.  相似文献

The changes in surface structure of polyfaceted single crystal platinum spheres subjected to repetitive square-wave potential treatments in acid solution have been studied. The dependence of the prevailing type of change on symmetry, potential limits and frequency of the periodic potential has been determined. Results are discussed on the basis of different reactions occurring within definite potential windows and distinct rate controlling processes depending on the operating conditions. Accordingly, the surface restructuring involves a predominant change in either the real surface area, the crystallographic orientation or the entire surface morphology.  相似文献

The morphology and its formation has been studied for the steady-rate stretching operation of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) porous membranes, which were prepared from PTFE fine powders with a mean diameter of approximately 2×102 nm through extruding and rolling operations prior to the stretching operation. The uniaxially stretched membranes were produced by the unique stretching operation parallel to the rolling operation, and the biaxially stretched membranes by the dual operations consisting of the parallel and the subsequent perpendicular stretches. The inversion of the stretching direction, i.e., the first stretching operation perpendicular to the rolling operation and the second one parallel has been observed to be impossible due to the occurrence of macroscopic fractures on the membrane during the first stretching operation. The uniaxially stretched porous membranes are comprised of fibrils completely oriented in the stretching direction and remaining island-like fractures of the rolled PTFE sheet. The second stretching operation provides a lattice-like porous structure by giving the island-like fractures further division along the second stretching direction and the fibrils slant from the original orientation. The stretching operation is possible within the range where the relative elongation of the whole membrane along the second stretching direction is less than 50% of that along the first one, indicating that the fibrils yielded by the first stretching operation sustain the lattice-like porous structure induced by the second stretching operation. The distribution of the slant angle of the fibrils is independent of the elongation in the second stretching operation, thus, the division of the island-like fractures linked with the fibrils steadily proceeds during the second stretching operation.  相似文献
