A novel compound, named fortunate A, was isolated from the ethanol extract of the stem bark of Cryptomerica fortunei. Its structure was established on the basis of the spectral evidences including 1D and 2D NMR spectrum.

A potent antimalarial trichothecene from hyphomycete species

Antimalarial screening of diverse fungal samples resulted in the isolation and identification of a new sesquiterpene, trichothecinol D (1), which exhibited potent in vitro activity against Plasmodium falciparum with a 200-fold selectivity for parasite versus mammalian cytotoxicity. Trichothecinol D was obtained by bioassay-guided fractionation of two hyphomycete species. Its chemical characterization was performed by detailed NMR spectroscopy and high resolution mass spectrometry. The absolute configuration of trichothecinol D was determined by X-ray crystallography.     

A new anti-HIV triterpene from Geum japonicum

Geumonoid (1), a new triterpene, was isolated from Geum japonicum. Its structure was elucidated on the basis of 1D, 2D NMR and MS spectroscopic analysis. Compound 1 showed inhibitory activity against HIV-1 protease.

A new bieremophilanolide was isolated from the roots and rhizomes of Ligularia lapathifolia. Its structure was established as 8,8'-bi-3beta-angeloyloxy-eremophil-7(11)-en-12,8alpha(14beta,6alpha)-diolide (1) by IR, MS, 1D, and 2D NMR experiments.     

A new cyclostellettamine from sponge Amphimedon compressa

A new compound,8,8′-dienecyclostellettamine,was isolated from the marine sponge Amphimedon compressa.Its structure was elucidated by spectroscopic methods including ID and 2D NMR,UV,IR,ESI-MS,MALDI-MS techniques.It is probably an important precursor of the manzamine alkoids,and also showed vigorous antibacterial activities.     

A new megastigmane glycoside, phoenixoside A, from Phoenix dactylifera

A new megastigmane glycoside, phoenixoside A (1), has been isolated from the n-butanol--soluble fraction of seeds of Phoenix dactylifera. The structure was characterized as (6S,7Z,9R)-hydroxy-3-oxo-ionol-9-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1" --> 6')-beta-D-glucopyranoside on the basis of 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy, high-resolution mass spectrometry, and CD spectroscopy.     

A New Flavonol Diglycoside from Pyrrosia petiolosa

A new flavone diglycoside, named as pyrropetioside A I was isolated from Pyrrosia petiolosa. Its structrue was elucidated as 7-O-[6-O-(α-L-ambifuranosyl)-β-D-glucopyranosyl]-gossypetin by means of chemical and spectroscopic methods including IR, MS, 1D and 2D NMR techniques.
