We propose a two-color scheme of atom waveguides and one-dimensional (1D) optical lattices using evanescent wave fields of different transverse modes around an optical micro/nano-fiber. The atom guide potential can be produced when the optical fiber carries a red-detuned light with TE01 mode and a blue-detuned light with HEll mode, and the 1D optical lattice potential can be produced when the red-detuned light is transformed to the superposition of the TE01 mode and HE11 mode. The two trapping potentials can be transformed to each other for accurately controlling mode transformation for the red-detuned light. This might provide a new approach to realize flexible transition between the guiding and trapping states of atoms.  相似文献

Our aim is to transpose the polarization control by mechanical stress, usually applied to single-mode fibers, to the (TM(01), TE(01), HE(21)(ev), HE(21)(od)) annular mode family. Nevertheless, the quasi-degeneracy of these four modes makes the situation more complex than with the fundamental mode HE(11). We propose a simple device based on periodic perturbation and mode coupling to produce the radially polarized TM(01) mode or at least one of the four modes at the extremity of an arbitrarily long fiber, the conversion to TM(01) mode being achievable by classical crystalline plates.  相似文献

Analytical expression to calculate propagation constant and mode field of the hollow core Bragg fiber is derived. Numerical results are presented. It is shown that the fundamental mode of the hollow core Bragg fiber is circularly symmetric TE01 mode with no polarization degeneracy, while the higher order mode may be HE11, TM01, or TE02 etc.. This property is different from conventional optical fiber that its fundamental mode is the linearly polarized HE11 mode and is polarization degeneracy.  相似文献

Mode coupling in bent, oversized, smooth-wall circular waveguides was studied by means of numerical integration of coupled-mode differential equations in order to optimize high-power TE01-to-TM11 mode transducers at 70 GHz and 140 GHz. Such mode transformers are used in the mode conversion sequence TEOn to TE01 to TM11 to HE11 for generating the almost perfectly linearly polarized Gaussian-like HE11 mode from circular electric TEOn gyrotron modes. This quasi-optical HE11 hybrid mode is in many respects ideal for electron cyclotron resonance heating (ECRH) of magnetically confined plasmas in thermonuclear fusion research and for other technical applications. Curvature and ellipticity coupling as well as ohmic attenuation of 6 coupled modes (TE01, TM11, TE11, TE12, TE21, TM21) are included in the coupling matrices. Integral expressions were used for deriving the coupling coefficients for arbitrary modes in bent, smooth-wall waveguide. Lowest level of unwanted spurious modes together with highest transmission efficiency (shortest arc length) is achieved with sinusoidal curvature distribution instaed of constant curvature. The calculated conversion efficiencies of 98.0% at 70 GHz and 95.2% at 140 GHz (interior waveguide diameter D=27.8 mm for 200 kW transmission lines) are in excellent agreement with the measured values of (97.6±0.4)% and (95±1)%, respectively.  相似文献

在弱导条件下,利用Maxwell方程组,对纤芯是左手材料,包层是右手材料的光纤表面模进行了研究,得到了TE (TM)、 EH和 HE表面模的色散方程,.根据色散方程,画出了相应表面模和含左手材料光纤导模的色散曲线.比较这些色散曲线,发现了含左手材料光纤表面模一些新的特性.  相似文献

系统地研究了传输CO2激光用的新型光纤材料GeO2-Sb2O3-K2O玻璃空芯光纤的光学特性。通过理论计算,得到了该材料nr<1的波长范围,消光系数K和损耗系数a,通过工艺和材料的选择,使a理论值达到0.05 dB/m。同时讨论了HE11,TM01,TE01模式损耗和频率的关系。  相似文献

对纤芯为左手材料,内包层和外包层都为右手材料的双包层光纤进行了分析.在弱导情况下,且不考虑介质损耗,由亥姆霍兹方程出发,得到了HE、EH、TE和TM导模的色散方程,并在远离截止条件下,对其进行简化.所有的TE和TM模都是简并的.分别讨论了内包层折射率和厚度对该左手材料光纤最低阶导模的影响,画出了各自的色散曲线,并和右手材料光纤导模相应色散曲线进行了比较,发现左手材料光纤的低阶导模具有反常的色散特性.  相似文献

 报道了可分别传输TM01模和TE01模的两种弯曲圆波导的设计方法和计算结果。研究表明:所设计的TM01模弯曲波导和TE01模弯曲波导在中心频率上传输效率均超过99.5%,传输效率大于95%的带宽分别达到20.0%和14.4%;该两个弯曲波导也分别适用于传输TE11模和TM11模;水平极化TE11模与TM01模、垂直极化TM11模与TE01模在弯曲圆波导中传输时具有相似的传输效率和频带特性;而垂直极化TE11模、水平极化TM11模由于不易和其它模式耦合,在弯曲波导中传输时具有较高的传输效率。  相似文献

We present an alternate simplified concept to irradiate a nuclear magnetic resonance sample with terahertz (THz) radiation for dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) experiments using the TE(01) circular waveguide mode for transmission of the THz power and the illumination of the DNP sample by either the TE(01) or TE(11) mode. Using finite element method and 3D electromagnetic simulations we demonstrate that the average value of the transverse magnetic field induced by the THz radiation and responsible for the DNP effect using the TE(11) or the TE(01) mode are comparable to that generated by the HE(11) mode and a corrugated waveguide. The choice of the TE(11)/TE(01) mode allows the use of a smooth-walled, oversized waveguide that is easier to fabricate and less expensive than a corrugated waveguide required for transmission of the HE(11) mode. Also, the choice of the TE(01) mode can lead to a simplification of gyrotron oscillators that operate in the TE(0n) mode, by employing an on-axis rippled-wall mode converter to convert the TE(0n) mode into the TE(01) mode either inside or outside of the gyrotron tube. These novel concepts will lead to a significant simplification of the gyrotron, the transmission line and the THz coupler, which are the three main components of a DNP system.  相似文献

 设计了一种新型L波段慢波结构式圆波导TM01-TE11模式转换器,该转换器的尺寸为φ15.0 cm×40.8 cm,通过金属分割片将圆波导分成两个180°区域并在其中一个区域内设置半环形慢波结构。当TM01入射时,在两个区域内激励起扇形波导TE11模式,由于慢波结构的存在,该模式在两个区域内的传播常数不一样。适当调节慢波结构的参数,可使两个区域内传输的扇形TE11模式在金属分割片尾部相位相差180°,这两个扇形TE11模式耦合成为圆波导TE11模式输出,实现模式转换。建立数值模型并进行了模拟,结果表明在工作频率1.8 GHz处转换效率96%,反射率低于0.04,功率容量超过1.7 GW。  相似文献

 提出了一种结构紧凑的、能将圆波导TM01模或同轴波导TEM模转换为圆极化TE11模的高功率微波模式转换器。该转换器由前后2个十字转门波导结对接组成,前者首先把圆波导TM01模转变为4个矩形波导中的TE10模,4个矩形波导的长度不等;后者再把4个经过不同相位延迟的矩形波导TE10模转变为圆波导中的圆极化TE11模。对所设计的1.75 GHz模式转换器进行了仿真研究,在中心频率上,该模式转换器转换效率为99%,轴比为0.03 dB;在1.575~1.900 GHz的频率范围内,转换效率大于90%,轴比小于2.5 dB,对应带宽为18.6%。  相似文献

 利用模式耦合理论,在理论推导出弯曲矩形波导TE01模和高阶模之间耦合系数显式表达的基础上,对弯曲矩形波导进行了实例研究。HFSS软件数值仿真结果表明:设计的矩形波导TE01-TE02模式转换器在9.5 GHz转换效率达到99.9%,转换效率大于90%的工作带宽为8.60~10.48 GHz;设计的弯曲矩形波导传输线,可有效传输TE01模,不激励起高阶模式。HFSS数值仿真结果验证了所设计的传输线工作带宽和功率容量均能够满足使用要求。  相似文献

在对W型阶跃双包层手性光纤进行解析求解的基础上,对几个低阶导模的功率特性进行了仔细的研究.对典型的内包层厚度,计算了几个低阶模留在纤芯中的光功率随纤芯和内外包层的手性参数的变化关系曲线,讨论了纤芯和内外包层的手性参量以及内包层厚度对不同符号模式的功率特性的影响.内包层厚度越大,功率越被限制在纤芯中.随着纤芯中手性参量的增大, HE-11模和HE-21模(HE01模)限制在纤芯中的光功率缓慢增加,而HE11模和HE21模(HE02模)限制在纤芯中的光功率则逐渐减小.包层手性参量的作用正好与此相反.  相似文献

The polarization properties and angular distribution of intensity of the far fields from a nanowire laser are investigated. The far-field emission depends strongly on the mode type (HE11, TE01, TM01) and the radius of the nanowire. The emission is weakly directional, and a large part of it can be emitted in the backward direction. Our results can be applied for experimental determination of a lasing mode by its far fields as well as for optimization of laser emission.  相似文献

本文给出了光纤中包层模的电场形式,指出包层膜的电场形式与弱导光纤中导模的电场形式不同,对光纤中基模与包层模电场沿光纤横截面分布的重叠情况的分析表明,长周期光纤光栅除了能将HE11导模耦合到HE1p包层模外,也可以将其耦合到EH1p包层模。基于耦合模理论的计算表明,耦合到EH1p和EH1,p-1包层模的耦合波长相近,对于典型的单模光纤,当p>4时耦合到这两个模式的耦合系数是可比的。  相似文献

LP01 and LP11 mode interferences in high-birefringence (Hi-Bi) panda fibers are theoretically and experimentally presented. The propagation characteristics of both the fundamental and second-order modes in Hi-Bi panda fibers are investigated, and the interference output intensity distribution of the LP01 and LP11 modes in panda fibers are thoroughly examined. An experiment is conducted to verify the feasibility of modal interference sensors. The results show that the two-lobe interference pattern of panda fibers generates energy exchanges when external strain is applied on the fiber. Moreover, Hi-Bi panda fibers can be used to design voltage sensors.  相似文献

理论分析了金属、介质/金属结构空芯光纤在THz波段的模式结构和传输特性.金属空芯光纤支持TE11模式,介质/金属空芯光纤的介质膜厚在取最优值时支持HE11模式.对于波长为200μm的太赫兹波,内径为1 mm的两种空芯光纤,TE11和HE11模式的损耗分别为8.4 dB/m和2 dB/m.为优化介质/金属结构宅芯光纤的传输性能,分析了金属和介质材料的光学常数对衰减系数的影响.基于几种已发表的金属在太赫兹波段的光学常数,计算结果表明铝是最好的选择;初步测量结果显示,在各种树脂材料中聚乙烯在THz波段吸收较小,并且其折射率接近介质膜的最优值1.41,为太赫兹波空芯光纤中介质膜材料的理想选择.  相似文献

We demonstrate a high-sensitivity broadband (1250-1650 nm) fiber micro-Michelson interferometer using a single-mode fiber end-spliced with a sphered-end hollow-core fiber. The hollow core is slightly smaller than the solid core of a single-mode fiber, so the fractional power of the core mode is converted into cladding modes. The excited cladding modes propagate at distinct optical paths along the hollow-core fiber and have individual foci outside the spherical lens. The reflected core mode, generated at the solid core-air interface, and the reflected cladding modes, generated at external material, interfere with each other to produce beating in the interference signals.  相似文献
