Fredholm composition operators on spaces of holomorphic functions   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4  
Composition operators on vector spaces of holomorphic functions are considered. Necessary conditions that range of the operator is of a finite codimension are given. As a corollary of the result it is shown that a composition operatorC on a certain Banach space of holomorphic functions on a strictly pseudoconvex domain withC 2 boundary or a polydisc or a compact bordered Riemann surface or a bounded domainD such that intD = D is invertible if and only if it is a Fredholm operator if and only if is a holomorphic automorphism.  相似文献

We study various aspects of how certain positivity assumptions on complex matrix semigroups affect their structure. Our main result is that every irreducible group of complex matrices with nonnegative diagonal entries is simultaneously similar to a group of weighted permutations. We also consider the corresponding question for semigroups and discuss the effect of the assumption that a fixed linear functional has nonnegative values when restricted to a given semigroup.  相似文献

This paper mainly concerns defect operators and defect functions of Hardy submodules, Bergman submodules over the unit ball, and Hardy submodules over the polydisk. The defect operator (function) carries key information about operator theory (function theory) and structure of analytic submodules. The problem when a submodule has finite defect is attacked for both Hardy submodules and Bergman submodules. Our interest will be in submodules generated by polynomials. The reason for choosing such submodules is to understand the interaction of operator theory, function theory and algebraic geometry.  相似文献

We prove that every one dimensional extension of a separably acting normal operator has a cyclic commutant, and that every non-algebraic normal operator has a two-dimensional extension which fails to have a cyclic commutant. Associated with every operatorT on Hilbert space is its Aluthge transform (defined below). In this note we study various connections betweenT and , including relations between various spectra, numerical ranges, and lattices of invariant subspaces. Let T be a polynomially bounded operator on a Banach space X whose spectrum contains the unit circle. Then T∗ has a nontrivial invariant subspace. In particular, if X is reflexive, then T itself has a nontrivial invariant subspace. This generalizes the well-known result of Brown, Chevreau, and Pearcy for Hilbert space contractions.  相似文献

We give a matrix version of the scalar inequality f(a + b) ? f(a) + f(b) for positive concave functions f on [0, ∞). We show that Choi’s inequality for positive unital maps and operator convex functions remains valid for monotone convex functions at the cost of unitary congruences. Some inequalities for log-convex functions are presented and a new arithmetic-geometric mean inequality for positive matrices is given. We also point out a simple proof of the Bhatia-Kittaneh arithmetic-geometric mean inequality.  相似文献

LetH be a complex infinite-dimensional separable Hilbert space. An operatorT inL(H) is called totally P-posinormal (see [9]) iff there is a polynomialP with zero constant term such that for each , whereT z =T–zI andM(z) is bounded on the compacts of C. In this paper we prove that every totally P-posinormal operator is subscalar, i.e. it is the restriction of a generalized scalar operator to an invariant subspace. Further, a list of some important corollaries about Bishop's property and the existence of invariant subspaces is presented.  相似文献

In this paper we discuss necessary conditions and sufficient conditions for the compression of an analytic Toeplitz operator onto a shift coinvariant subspace to have nontrivial reducing subspaces. We give necessary and sufficient conditions for the kernel of a Toeplitz operator whose symbol is the quotient of two inner functions to be nontrivial and obtain examples of reducing subspaces from these kernels. Motivated by this result we give necessary conditions and sufficient conditions for the kernel of a Toeplitz operator whose symbol is the quotient of two inner functions to be nontrivial in terms of the supports of the two inner functions. By studying the commutant of a compression, we are able to give a necessary condition for the existence of reducing subspaces on certain shift coinvariant subspaces.  相似文献

A continuation of the study of thew-hyponormal operators is presented. It is shown thatw-hyponormal operators are paranormal. Sufficient conditions which implyw-hyponormal operators are normal are given. The nonzero points of the approximate and joint approximate point spectra are shown to be identical forw-hyponormal operators. We characterize essential normality for certain elementary operators acting on the Hilbert-Schmidt class. We find the Aluthge transform of an elementary operator of length one.
