The effect of “permanent electrochemical promotion of catalysis” (P-EPOC) was studied for the first time in the catalytic deep oxidation of C3H8 over a thin (~ 150 nm) sputtered Pt film on YSZ, under excess of oxygen at 350 °C. Short positive potential application (+ 1 V) resulted in a 5.6-fold increase of the catalytic rate, where C3H8 conversion reached 33%, while the apparent Faradaic efficiency was ~ 330. After positive current interruption the catalytic rate remained in a highly active steady-state, determined by the total charge of the anodic polarization step. Restoration of the catalytic activity to the initial value occurred only by a similar negative potential imposition. This new stable steady-state after current interruption can be interpreted by storage of a non-reactive oxygen species upon anodic polarization at the proximity of the Pt/YSZ interface and subsequent enhanced migration of spillover Oδ? species from the electrolyte support to the Pt/gas interface under open-circuit conditions.  相似文献

The electrochemical reduction of CO2 is strongly influenced by both the applied potential and the surface adsorption status of the catalyst. In this work a gas diffusion electrode (GDE) coated with Pd nanoparticles/carbon black (Pd/XC72) was used to study the electrochemical reduction of CO2. Cyclic voltammetric (CV) analysis of Pd/XC72 between 1.5 V and − 0.6 V (vs. RHE) shows the formation of intermediates and the blocking of hydrogen absorption on the Pd nanoparticles (NPs) under a CO2 atmosphere. The relationships between the Faradaic efficiency/current density and the applied potential reveal that the onset potential of CO formation is around − 0.4 V. Moreover, the presence of adsorbed CO was confirmed through CV analysis of Pd/XC72 under CO2 and CO/He atmospheres. This demonstrates that H atoms and CO intermediates co-adsorb on the surface of the Pd NPs at an applied potential of around − 0.4 V. When the applied potential is more negative than − 0.6 V, adsorption of CO intermediates on the surface of the Pd NPs becomes dominant.  相似文献

Electrodeposited mesoporous (MP) Pt electrodes were evaluated as catalysts for CO and methanol electrooxidation. Electrochemical analysis reveals a mass activity of 41 Ag−1 at 0.55 V in 1 M CH3OH, similar to carbon supported catalysts. However, the high current densities are related to low CO2 conversion efficiencies, as was established by using differential electrochemical mass spectrometry in a thin layer flow cell configuration (TLFC-DEMS). These results can be understood taking into account the especially accessible porous structure of the MP Pt, where the possibility of readsorption of partially oxidized products is low.  相似文献

Experimental studies on diesel soot oxidation under a wide range of conditions relevant for modern diesel engine exhaust and continuously regenerating particle trap were performed. Hence, reactivity tests were carried out in a fixed bed reactor for various temperatures and different concentrations of oxygen, NO2 and water (300–600 °C, 0–10% O2, 0–600 ppm NO2, 0–10% H2O). The soot oxidation rate was determined by measuring the concentration of CO and CO2 product gases. The parametric study shows that the overall oxidation process can be described by three parallel reactions: a direct C–NO2 reaction, a direct C–O2 reaction and a cooperative C–NO2–O2 reaction. C–NO2 and C–NO2–O2 are the main reactions for soot oxidation between 300 and 450 °C. Water vapour acts as a catalyst on the direct C–NO2 reaction. This catalytic effect decreases with the increase of temperature until 450 °C. Above 450 °C, the direct C–O2 reaction contributes to the global soot oxidation rate. Water vapour has also a catalytic effect on the direct C–O2 reaction between 450 °C and 600 °C. Above 600 °C, the direct C–O2 reaction is the only main reaction for soot oxidation. Taking into account the established reaction mechanism, a one-dimensional model of soot oxidation was proposed. The roles of NO2, O2 and H2O were considered and the kinetic constants were obtained. The suggested kinetic model may be useful for simulating the behaviour of a diesel particulate filter system during the regeneration process.  相似文献

The electrochemical behavior of palladium modified Pt(1 0 0) in perchloric acid solution has been studied by means of cyclic voltammetry, CO bulk oxidation and in-situ Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. FTIR spectra on Pd submonolayers reveal that at low potentials (about 0.4 V) Pd-bounded CO is oxidized preferentially, whereas at the same time the Pt–CO oxidation rate is rather slow.  相似文献

Here we report a facile approach to synthesize a novel nanostructured thin film comprising Cu nanoparticles (NPs) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) via the direct electrochemical reduction of a mixture of cupper and graphene oxide (GO) precursors. The effect of the applied potential on the electrochemical reduction of CO2 was investigated using linear sweep voltammetric (LSV) and chronoamperometric (CA) techniques. Carbon monoxide and formate were found as the main products based on our GC and HPLC analysis. The electrochemical reduction of CO2 at the Cu/rGO thin film was further studied using in situ ATR-FTIR spectroscopy to identify the liquid product formed at different applied cathodic potentials. Our experimental measurements have shown that the nanostructured Cu/rGO thin film exhibits an excellent stability and superb catalytic activity for the electrochemical reduction of CO2 in an aqueous solution with a high current efficiency of 69.4% at − 0.6 V vs. RHE, promising for the efficient electrochemical conversion of CO2 to valuable products.  相似文献

The photonic and electrochemical properties of a novel Ru–phenolate based metallopolymer are reported. The complex undergoes a ruthenium based reversible oxidation at approximately +0.400 V and irreversible box ligand oxidation at +0.800 V vs. Ag/AgCl. Oxidation of thin films in aqueous electrolyte at +0.500 V reversibly switches the colour from wine red to light green and a red orange colour is observed for mixed redox composition. In contrast, oxidation at potentials more positive than +1.500 V shows no visible colour change but produces a change in the near infra-red region. To determine the electrochromic switching rate and to identify the rate determining step of the, scan rate dependent cyclic voltammetry was performed under semi-infinite linear diffusion conditions in aqueous lithium perchlorate. These data reveal that the homogeneous charge transport diffusion coefficient, DCT, is 3.6 ± 0.2 × 10−13 cm2 s−1, i.e., under these conditions it takes approximately 90 s to fully oxidise a 100 nm thick film.  相似文献

PbO2 thin films were prepared by pulse current technique on Ti substrate from Pb(NO3)2 plating solution. The hybrid supercapacitor was designed with PbO2 thin film as positive electrode and activated carbon (AC) as negative electrode in the 5.3 M H2SO4 solution. Its electrochemical properties were determined by cyclic voltammetry (CV), charge–discharge test and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The results revealed that the PbO2/AC hybrid supercapacitor exhibited large specific capacitance, high-power and stable cycle performance. In the potential range of 0.8–1.8 V, the hybrid supercapacitor can deliver a specific capacitance of 71.5 F g?1 at a discharge current density of 200 mA g?1(4 mA cm?2) when the mass ratio of AC to PbO2 was three, and after 4500 deep cycles, the specific capacitance remains at 64.4 F g?1, or 32.2 Wh Kg?1 in specific energy, and the capacity only fades 10% from its initial value.  相似文献

NADH oxidation catalysts are extremely important in the field of electrochemical biosensors and enzymatic biofuel cells. Based on the growing diazonium chemistry, we synthesized the diazonium salt of the well-known NADH mediator toluidine blue O. The electrochemical reduction of the diazonium moiety by cyclic voltammetry onto a screen-printed electrode leads to an electrocatalyst suitable for the oxidation of NADH. The amperometric response for its oxidation shows a maximal current of 1.2 μA ([NADH] = 100 μM). Based on electrochemical measurements, the surface coverage is found to be 3.78 × 10? 11 mol cm? 2 and the heterogeneous standard rate constant kh is 1.21 ± 0.16 s? 1. The sensitive layer for the oxidation of NADH is improved by electrografting the diazonium salt with a potentiostatic method. Both the surface coverage and the heterogeneous standard rate constant kh are improved and found to be 6.08 ± 0.63 × 10? 11 mol cm? 2 and ~ 5.02 s? 1, respectively. The amperometric response is also improved by an 8 fold factor, reaching 9.87 μA ([NADH] = 120 μM). These remarkably high values for screen-printed electrodes are comparable to glassy carbon electrodes making this method suitable for low-cost bioelectronical devices.  相似文献

We describe herein the electrochemical characterization and polymerization of 4-pyren-1-yl-butyric acid 11-pyrrol-1-yl-decyl ester (pyrrole–pyrene) in CH3CN. The electrochemical oxidation of the pyrrole group at 0.77 V vs Ag/Ag + 10 mM in CH3CN led to the first example of a fluorescent polypyrrole film. The mechanism of deposition on platinum electrode was studied by voltammetry and chronoamperometry. The optical properties of the polymeric films electrogenerated on ITO electrodes were examined by UV–visible spectroscopy and fluorescence microscopy indicating an increase in fluorescence properties by increased polymer thickness. The electrochemical oxidation of pyrenyl group linked to the polypyrrole backbone was carried out at 1.2 V. This additional polymerization was demonstrated by UV–visible spectroscopy and induced the loss of the fluorescence properties of the resulting polymeric film.  相似文献

We characterized the electrocatalytic activity of platinum electrode modified by underpotential deposited lead (PtPbupd) for a formic acid (HCOOH) oxidation and investigated the influence on the power performance of direct formic acid fuel cells (DFAFC). Based on the electrochemical analysis using cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry, PtPbupd electrode modified by underpotential deposition (UPD) exhibited significantly enhanced catalytic activity for HCOOH oxidation below anodic overpotential of 0.4 V (vs. SCE). Multi-layered PtPbupd electrode structure of Pt/Pbupd/Pt resulted in more stable and enhanced performance using 50% reduced loading of anode catalyst. The performance of multi-layered PtPbupd anode is about 120 mW/cm2 at 0.4 V and it also showed a sustainable cell activity of 0.52 V at an application of constant current loading of 110 mA/cm2.  相似文献

Two N-substituted naphthalene tetracarboxylic diimide (NTCDI) ionic compounds, carboxylic and sulfonic sodium salts, were prepared and used as positive electrode active materials in lithium-half cells. The aim of this investigation was to assess the solubility-suppressing effect of two different negatively charged substituent groups on a redox-active organic backbone using a carbonate-based liquid electrolyte. NTCDI derivatives were obtained in high yields from reaction of naphthalene tetracarboxylic dianhydride with neutralized glycine or with neutralized taurine. They were mixed with carbon black and cycled in galvanostatic mode against lithium metal using 1 M LiPF6 EC/DMC liquid electrolyte. These two NTCDI derivatives exhibit a quite stable electrochemical activity upon cycling at an average potential of 2.3 V vs. Li+/Li0 giving rise to specific capacity values of 147 mAh·g 1 and 113 mAh·g 1 for the dicarboxylate and the disulfonate derivative, respectively. This study clearly supports the useful effect of such grafted permanent charges as a general rule on the electrochemical stability of crystallized organic materials based on the assembly of small redox-active units.  相似文献

In this study, the electrochemical reduction of CO2 was examined using a Ag-modified Cu catalyst cathode in a series of mixed ionic liquids (ILs) in the presence or absence of cobalt chloride (CoCl2). These results indicate that the Ag-modified Cu electrode in EMIMBF4 + BMIMNO3 with CoCl2 exhibited the excellent synergy for the electrochemical reduction of CO2 to CO with a stable area specific activity, with continuous production for at least 150 h. In such a system, a CO selectivity of 98% was achieved. According to the obtained results, a possible mechanism was proposed. The synergistic effect between the Ag-modified Cu electrode, serving as the main catalyst, and CoCl2 and ILs, serving as the co-catalysts, is probably responsible for the highly selective and stable electrocatalytic reduction of CO2 to CO.  相似文献

The electrochemical measurements were carried out by using thermophilic cytochrome P450 CYP119A2 (P450st) modified with poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) in PEO200 as an electrochemical solvent. The PEO modified P450st gave clear reduction–oxidation peaks by cyclic voltammetry in oxygen-free PEO200 up to 120 °C. The midpoint potential measured for the P450st was −120 mV vs. [Fe(CN)6]4−/[Fe(CN)6]3− at 120 °C. The peak separation, ΔE, was 16 mV at 100 mV/s. The estimated electron transfer rate of PEO-P450st at 120 °C was 35.1 s−1. The faster electron transfer reaction was achieved at higher temperatures. The electrochemical reduction of dioxygen was observed at 115 °C with the PEO-modified P450st system.  相似文献

The electrochemical oxidation of catechol and hydroquinone was investigated using cyclic and differential pulse voltammetries at nanostructured mesoporous platinum film electrochemically deposited from the hexagonal liquid crystalline template of C16EO8 surfactant. The mesoporous platinum electrode has shown an excellent electrocatalytic activity and reversibility towards the oxidation of catechol and hydroquinone redox isomers in 1.0 M HClO4. The oxidation and reduction peak separation (ΔE) has been decreased from 485 to 55 mV for hydroquinone and from 430 to 75 mV vs. SCE for catechol at polished polycrystalline and mesoporous platinum electrodes, respectively. The differential pulse voltammograms in a mixture solution of catechol and hydroquinone have shown that the oxidation peaks became well resolved and are separated by about 100 mV, although the bare electrode gave a single broad oxidation peak. Moreover, the oxidation current of hydroquinone and catechol has been enhanced by a factor of two and four times, respectively, at mesoporous platinum electrode. Using differential pulse voltammetry, a highly selective and simultaneous determination of hydroquinone and catechol has been explored at mesoporous platinum electrode.  相似文献

Electrochemical oxidation of thermally denatured single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) was studied on a room temperature ionic liquid N-butylpyridinium hexafluorophosphate (BPPF6) modified carbon paste electrode (IL-CPE). A distinct oxidation peak appeared at +0.772 V (vs. SCE) on the IL-CPE after preconcentration of ssDNA at +0.35 V for 160 s in pH 7.0 phosphate buffer solution (PBS), which was attributed to the oxidation of guanine residue on the ssDNA molecular structure. The results showed an apparent negative shift of the oxidation peak potential and a great enhancement of the oxidation peak current on the IL-CPE compared with that of CPE. The electrochemical parameters of ssDNA on the IL-CPE were further calculated. Under the selected conditions, a linear calibration curve for ssDNA detection was obtained in the concentration range from 10.0 to 110.0 μg mL−1 with the detection limit of 1.5 μg mL−1(3σ).  相似文献

In this communication we present topographic images of the Pt(1 1 1) surface in CO saturated 0.1 M HClO4, obtained by scanning tunneling microscopy. The topography presents two different structures, depending on the CO adsorption potential (Ead = 0.15 V or Ead = 0.5 V vs RHE). For adsorption at 0.15 V the system presents a heterogeneous appearance, which totally covers the surface and impedes the observation of steps on the substrate surface. When CO is adsorbed at 0.5 V large clusters forming chains along the steps are observed. These aggregates can be, tentatively, correlated with the H-bonded water structure suggested earlier on the basis of FTIR spectroscopy. The clusters have inhibitory effects on CO oxidation.  相似文献

Visible light active hydrogen modified n-type titanium oxide (HM-n-TiO2) thin films were synthesized by thermal oxidation of Ti metal sheet (Alfa Co. 0.25 mm thick) in an electric oven followed by incorporation of hydrogen electrochemically under cathodic polarization at ?1.6 V vs Pt. The photoresponse of the HM-n-TiO2 was evaluated by measuring the rate of water splitting reaction to hydrogen and oxygen in terms of photocurrent density, Jp. The optimized electric oven-made n-TiO2 and HM-n-TiO2 photoelectrodes showed photocurrent densities of 0.2 mA cm?2 and 1.60 mA cm?2, respectively, at a measured potential of ?0.4 V vs Pt at illumination intensity of 100 mW cm?2 from a 150 W xenon lamp. This indicated an eightfold increase in photocurrent density for HM-n-TiO2 compared to oven-made n-TiO2 at the same measured electrode potential. The band-gap energy of HM-n-TiO2 was found to be 2.7 eV compared to 2.82 eV for electric oven-made n-TiO2 and a mid-gap band at 1.67 eV above the valence band was also observed. The HM-n-TiO2 thin film photoelectrodes were characterized using photocurrent density under monochromatic light illumination and UV–Vis spectral measurements.  相似文献

The electrochemical regeneration of NADH/NAD+ redox couple has been studied using poly(phenosafranin) (PPS)-modified carbon electrodes to evaluate the formal potential and catalytic rate constant for the oxidation of NADH. The PPS-modified electrodes were prepared by electropolymerization of phenosafranin onto different carbon substrates (glassy carbon (GC) and basal-plane pyrolytic graphite (BPPG)) in different electrolytic solutions. The formal potential was estimated to be ? 0.365 ± 0.002 V vs. SHE at pH 7.0. As for the bare carbon electrodes, the oxidation of NADH at the BPPG electrode was found to be enhanced compared with the GC electrode. For the PPS-modified electrodes, it was found that the electrocatalysis of PPS-modified electrodes for the oxidation of NADH largely depends on the carbon substrate and electrolyte solution employed for their preparation, i.e., the PPS-modified BPPG electrode prepared in 0.2 M NaClO4/acetonitrile solution exhibits an excellent and persistent electrocatalytic property toward NADH oxidation in phosphate buffer solution (pH 7.0) with a diminution of the overpotential of about 740 and 670 mV compared with those at the bare GC electrode and the PPS-modified GC electrode prepared in 0.2 M H2SO4 solution, respectively. A quantitative analysis of the electrocatalytic reaction based on rotating disk voltammetry gave the electrocatalytic reaction rate constants of the order of 103–104 M?1 s? 1 depending on the preparation conditions of the PPS-modified electrodes.  相似文献

Gasification uses steam increases H2 content in the syngas. Kinetics of gasification process can be improved by using K2CO3 catalyst. Controlled heating rate in pyrolysis step determines the pore size of charcoal that affects yield gas and H2 and CO content in the syngas. In previous research, pyrolisis step was performed without considering heating rate in pyrolysis step. This experiment was performed by catalytic steam gasification using lignite char from pyrolysis with controlled heating rate intended to produce maximum yield of syngas with mole ratio of H2/CO ≈ 2. Slow heating rate (3 °C/min) until 850 °C in the pyrolysis step has resulted in largest surface area of char. This study was performed by feeding Indonesian lignite char particles and K2CO3 catalyst into a fixed bed reactor with variation of steam/char mole ratio (2.2; 2.9; 4.0) and gasification temperature (750 °C, 825 °C, and 900 °C). Highest ratio of H2/CO (1.682) was obtained at 750 °C and steam/char ratio 2.2. Largest gas yield obtained from this study was 0.504 mol/g of char at 900 °C and steam/char ratio 2.9. Optimum condition for syngas production was at 750 °C and steam/char mole ratio 2.2 with gas yield 0.353 mol/g of char and H2/CO ratio 1.682.  相似文献
