The in vitro antimicrobial and antioxidant activities of metal complexes derived from 1,8-diaminonaphthalene and 5,5-dimethylcyclohexane-1,3-dione were evaluated. The complexes were synthesized by template method in the presence of trivalent metal salts, resulting in the formation of tetraaza macrocyclic complexes of the type [M (C36H36N4) X] X2, where M = Cr(III), Fe(III) and X = Cl, NO3, CH3COO. The synthesized complexes were characterized with the aid of elemental analyses, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibility measurements, electronic, IR, mass and powder XRD studies. Based on various studies, a five-coordinated square pyramidal geometry was proposed for these complexes. The X-ray diffraction studies suggest a monoclinic crystal system for the complexes.  相似文献

The lanthanide complexes derived from (3,5,13,15-tetramethyl 2,6,12,16,21-22-hexaazatricyclo[15.3.I1-17I7-11]cosa-1(21),2,5,7,9,11(22),12,15,17,19-decane) were synthesized. The complexes were found to have general composition [Ln(L)X2·H2O]X, where Ln = La3+, Ce3+, Nd3+, Sm3+ and Eu3+ and X = NO3? and Cl?. The ligand was characterized by elemental analyses, IR, Mass, and 1H NMR spectral studies. All the complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibility measurements, IR, Mass, electronic spectral techniques and thermal studies. The ligand acts as a hexadentate and coordinates through four nitrogen atoms of azomethine groups and two nitrogen of pyridine ring. The lanthanum complexes are diamagnetic while the other Ln(III) complexes are paramagnetic. The spectral parameters i.e. nephelauxetic ratio (β), covalency factor (b1/2), Sinha parameter (δ%) and covalency angular overlap parameter (η) have been calculated from absorption spectra of Nd(III) and Sm(III) complexes. These parameters suggest the metal–ligand covalent bonding. In the present study, the complexes were found to have coordination number nine.  相似文献

The Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes of four azo compounds (H2L1–4), namely, 2-(p-X-phenylazo)-4-acetamidophenol (X = OCH3, NO2, Br, and H for H2L1, H2L2, H2L3, and H2L4, respectively) were prepared and characterized on the basis of their analytical, spectroscopic, magnetic, and conductance data. The isolated complexes are found to have the general formulae [M(HL1–4)Cl(H2O)3] (M = Ni(II) and Cu(II)). The chelates are found to have octahedral structure. The infrared spectra show that H2L1–4 ligands are coordinated to the metal ions in a uninegative bidentate manner, with NO donor sites of the azo N and the deprotonated phenolic O. The ligands and their chelates are subjected to thermal analysis. The biological activity of the synthesized ligands and their metal complexes also are screened against the adult Tribolium confusum mortality. They showed remarkable biological activity.  相似文献

Electrolytic conductivities of some alkali metal halides, MX (M+ = Li+, Na+, and K+; X? = Cl?, Br?, and I?), NaBPh4 and Bu4NBr have been investigated in (20, 40, and 60) mass% {dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) in DMSO + acetonitrile} at T = 298.15 K. The conductance results have been analyzed by the Fuoss-conductance-concentration equation in terms of the limiting molar conductance Λ° the association constant KA and the association diameter R. The ionic contributions to the limiting molar conductance have been estimated using Bu4NBPh4 as the “reference electrolyte”. The association constant KA tends to increase in the order mass percent 20 < 40 < 60 DMSO in (DMSO + acetonitrile) which is explained by the thermodynamic parameter ΔG° and Walden product Λ°η. The results have been interpreted in terms of ion–solvent interactions and structural changes in the mixed solvents.  相似文献

The precursor [FeIII(L)Cl] (LH2 = N,N′-bis(2′-hydroxy-benzyliden)-1,6-diamino-3-N-hexane is a high-spin (S = 5/2) complex. This precursor is combined with the bridging units [SnIV(X)4] (X = CN?, NCS?) to yield star-shaped pentanuclear clusters, [(LFeIII–X)4Sn]Cl4. For X = CN? the 57Fe-Mössbauer data show a multiple spin transition between iron(III) in the high-spin and low-spin state, while the 119mSn-Mössbauer data indicate a valence tautomerism between Sn(IV) and Sn(II). Changing the bridging unit from X = CN? to X = NCS? turns the switchability off.  相似文献

New Schiff base (H2L) ligand is prepared via condensation of o-phthaldehyde and 2-aminobenzoic acid in 1:2 ratio. Metal complexes are prepared and characterized using elemental analyses, IR, solid reflectance, magnetic moment, molar conductance, 1H NMR, ESR and thermal analysis (TGA). From the elemental analyses data, the complexes were proposed to have the general formulae [MCl(L)(H2O)]·2H2O (where M = Cr(III) and Fe(III)); [M(L)]·yH2O (where M = Mn(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II), y = 1–2) and [M(L)(H2O)nyH2O (where M = Co(II) (n = y = 2), Co(II) (n = y = 1), Ni(II) (n = 2, y = 1). The molar conductance data reveal that all the metal chelates were non-electrolytes. IR spectra show that H2L is coordinated to the metal ions in a bi-negative tetradentate manner with NOON donor sites of the azomethine-N and carboxylate-O. The 1H NMR spectral data indicate that the two carboxylate protons are also displaced during complexation. From the magnetic and solid reflectance spectra, it was found that the geometrical structure of these complexes are octahedral (Cr(III), Fe(III), Co(II) and Ni(II)), square planar (Cu(II)), trigonal bipyramidal (Co(II)) and tetrahedral (Mn(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II)). The thermal behaviour of these chelates showed that the hydrated complexes losses water molecules of hydration in the first step followed immediately by decomposition of the ligand molecule in the subsequent steps. The biological activity data show that the metal complexes to be more potent/antibacterial than the parent Shciff base ligand against one or more bacterial species.  相似文献

The precursors [Fe(III)(5XL)Cl] (5XLH2 = N,N′-bis(1-hydroxy-2-benzyliden)-1,6-diamino-3-X-hexane, X = N,S) are high-spin (S = 5/2) complexes. This precursors are combined with the bridging unit [(NC)5Fe(II)-CN-Co(III)(CN)5]6− to yield star-shaped dodecanuclear clusters, [(5XLFe(III)-NC)5Fe(II)-CN-Co(III)(CN-Fe(III)5XL)5]Cl4. The star-shaped compounds are high-spin systems at room temperature. On cooling to 20 K some of the iron(III) centers in the N-star switch to the low-spin state as proven by Mössbauer spectroscopy, i.e. multiple electronic transitions, while the S-star remains in the high-spin state.  相似文献

A new terdentate acyclic pincer ligand, 2,6-bis(tert-butylthiomethyl)pyridine (tbtmp), was synthesized and reacted with several complexes of iron, zinc, nickel, cobalt, and copper. The ligand and its coordination compounds were characterized using elemental analysis, infrared, 1H- and 13C-NMR-spectroscopy, thermal analyses, plus—for the Zn complex—single-crystal X-ray diffractometry. The structure of [Zn(L)Br2] was solved in the tetragonal crystal system, chiral space groups P41212 and P43212 (No. 92 and No. 96, a = 947.2(1) pm, c = 2265.2(5) pm), revealing five-fold coordination of the metal atoms. According to spectroscopy, all complexes share the same coordination environment around the metal atoms, consisting of two halide anions and a sulfur-methylene-pyridine-methylene-sulfur entity; tbtmp acts as a tridentate ligand with the pyridine N atom and both tert-butylthio S atoms coordinating to the metal ions (NS2). The analysis results indicate that the metal ions are coordinated as distorted pseudo-bipyramids, LMX2, with the chelate ligand meridionally arranged. One of the complexes contains ethanol as an additional ligand, resulting in a pseudo-octahedral coordination sphere [Ni(L)Cl2EtOH]. The latter was obtained in the form of green crystals, which turn into a red powder with loss of the ethanol molecule. Fe (III), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) metal complexes [M(L)Cl2] were screened for their antibacterial activity against B. subtilis G(+) and Escherichia coli G(−) bacteria, and fungus (Candida albicans and Aspergillus flavus).  相似文献

Two substituted N-acylthioureas and the respective Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes were synthesized, namely: N,N-di-n-butyl-N′-thenoylthiourea (Hnbtu); N,N-di-iso-butyl-N′-thenoylthiourea (Hibtu); bis[N,N-di-n-butyl-N′-thenoylthioureato]nickel(II), [Ni(nbtu)2]; bis[N,N-di-n-butyl-N′-thenoylthioureato]copper(II), [Cu(nbtu)2]; bis[N,N-di-iso-butyl-N′-thenoylthioureato]nickel(II), [Ni(ibtu)2]; bis[N,N-di-iso-butyl-N′-thenoylthioureato]copper(II), [Cu(ibtu)2]. The standard (p° = 0.1 MPa) molar enthalpies of formation and sublimation of the two N-acylthioureas were measured, at T = 298.15 K, by rotating-bomb combustion calorimetry and Calvet microcalorimetry, respectively. The standard (p° = 0.1 MPa) molar enthalpies of formation of the Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes were determined, at T = 298.15 K, by high precision solution–reaction calorimetry. From the results obtained, the enthalpies of hypothetical metal–ligand and metal–metal exchange reactions, in the gaseous phase, were derived, thus allowing a discussion of the gaseous phase energetic difference between the complexation of Ni(II) and Cu(II) to 1,3-ligand systems with (S,O) ligator atoms.  相似文献

Metal complexes of gliclazide (GLZ; HL) drug are prepared and characterized based on elemental analyses, IR, diffused reflectance, magnetic moment, molar conductance and thermal analyses (TG and DTG) technique. From the elemental analyses data, the complexes are proposed to have the general formulae [M(HL)Cl3(H2O)]·3H2O (M = Cr(III) and Fe(III)), [M(HL)Cl2(H2O)2yH2O (M = Co(III), Ni(II) and Cu(II), y = 0–2) and [M(HL)Cl2yH2O (M = Mn(II) and Zn(II), y = 0–1). The molar conductance data reveal that all the metal chelates are non-electrolytes. IR spectra show that GLZ is coordinated to the metal ions in a neutral bidentate manner with ON donor sites of the amide-O and sulphonamide-OH. From the magnetic and solid reflectance spectra, it is found that the geometrical structures of these complexes are octahedral (Cr(III), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II)) and tetrahedral (Mn(II) and Zn(II)). The thermal behaviour of these chelates is studied using thermogravimetric analysis (TG and DTG) techniques. The results obtained show that the hydrated complexes lose water molecules of hydration followed immediately by decomposition of the anions and ligand molecules in the successive unseparate steps. The activation thermodynamic parameters are calculated using Coats–Redfern method. The GLZ drug, in comparison to its metal complexes also is screened for their biological activity against house fly, Musca domestica (Diptera – Muscidae). Dose of 5 μg/insect of gliclazide is typically applied against 3 days-old larval instar of M. domestica. Survival of pupal and adult stages has been affected by the complexes of gliclazide more than larval instars. Morphogenic abnormalities of larvae, pupae and adults are studied. On the other hand, pupation and adult emergence program is deteriorated by the effect of different chemicals.  相似文献

In this review, the synthesis, reactivity and properties of linear and cyclic oligophosphanides are described. Specifically the structures and versatile reactivity of the anionic ligands (P4R4)2? (R = But, Ph, Mes), (P4HR4)? (R = Ph and Mes) and cyclo-(P5But4)? towards main group and transition metal complexes is elucidated. In addition, potential application of metal oligophosphanides as precursors for the preparation of metal phosphides is also briefly discussed.  相似文献

Equilibrium studies on the ternary complex systems involving ampicillin (amp) as ligand (A) and imidazole containing ligands viz., imidazole (Him), benzimidazole (Hbim), histamine (Hist) and histidine (His) as ligands (B) at 37 °C and I = 0.15 mol dm?3 (NaClO4) show the presence of CuABH, CuAB and CuAB2. The proton in the CuABH species is attached to ligand A. In the ternary complexes the ligand, amp(A) binds the metal ion via amino nitrogen and carbonyl oxygen atom. The CuAB (B = Hist/His)/CuAB2 (B = Him/Hbim) species have also been isolated and the analytical data confirmed its formation. Non-electrolytic behavior and monomeric type of chelates have been assessed from their low conductance and magnetic susceptibility values. The electronic and vibrational spectral results were interpreted to find the mode of binding of ligands to metal and geometry of the complexes. This is also supported by the g tensor values calculated from ESR spectra. The thermal behaviour of complexes were studied by TGA/DTA. The redox behavior of the complexes has been studied by cyclic voltammetry. The antimicrobial activity and CT DNA cleavage study of the complexes show higher activity for ternary complexes.  相似文献

The temperature dependence of the rate constant of the inversion substitution reactions CH3X + O2 → CH3O2? + X? (X = SH, NO2), can be expressed as k = 6.8 × 10–12(T/1000)1.49exp(–62816 cal mol–1/RT) cm3 s–1 (X = SH) and k = 6.8 × 10–12(T/1000)1.26 × × exp(–61319 cal mol–1/RT) cm3 s–1 (X = NO2), as found with the use of high-level quantum chemical methods and the transition state theory.  相似文献

In an effort to develop new tripodal N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligands for small molecule activation, two new classes of tripodal NHC ligands TIMER and TIMENR have been synthesized. The carbon-anchored tris(carbene) ligand system TIMER (R = Me, t-Bu) forms bi- or polynuclear metal complexes. While the methyl derivative exclusively forms trinuclear 3:2 complexes [(TIMEMe)2M3]3+ with group 11 metal ions, the tert-butyl derivative yields a dinuclear 2:2 complex [(TIMEt-Bu)2Cu2]2+ with copper(I). The latter complex shows both “normal” and “abnormal” carbene binding modes and accordingly, is best formulated as a bis(carbene)alkenyl complex. The nitrogen-anchored tris(carbene) ligands TIMENR (R = alkyl, aryl) bind to a variety of first-row transition metal ions in 1:1 stoichiometry, affording monomeric complexes with a protected reactivity cavity at the coordinated metal center. Complexes of TIMENR with Cu(I)/(II), Ni(0)/(I), and Co(I)/(II)/(III) have been synthesized. The cobalt(I) complexes with the aryl-substituted TIMENR (R = mesityl, xylyl) ligands show great potential for small molecule activation. These complexes activate for instance dioxygen to form cobalt(III) peroxo complexes that, upon reaction with electrophilic organic substrates, transfer an oxygen atom. The cobalt(I) complexes are also precursors for terminal cobalt(III) imido complexes. These imido complexes were found to undergo unprecedented intra-molecular imido insertion reactions to form cobalt(II) imine species. The molecular and electronic structures of some representative metal NHC complexes as well as the nature of the metal–carbene bond of these metal NHC complexes was elucidated by X-ray and DFT computational methods and are discussed briefly. In contrast to the common assumption that NHCs are pure σ-donors, our studies revealed non-negligible and even significant π-backbonding in electron-rich metal NHC complexes.  相似文献

A series of ruthenium and chromium complexes bearing pH indicators as the η6-arene ligand, (η6-X)(MLn)y [X = methyl yellow, crystal violet lactone, phenolphthalein; MLn = RuCp1+, RuCl2(L), Cr(CO)3; y = 1, 2] is prepared and characterized by spectroscopic and crystallographic methods. Of the plural arene rings in the indicators, a specific arene ring can be successfully coordinated to the metal center in a selective manner under appropriate conditions (i.e. use of the precursors of different oxidation states and reaction with the non-protonated and protonated pH indicator). The obtained indicator complexes show halochromic behavior depending on pH as observed for the parent molecules but the transition pH ranges are shifted to the more acidic side because of the attachment of the electron-withdrawing metal fragments, which decrease the basicity of the attached pH indicators.  相似文献

The precursor [FeIII(L)Cl] (LH2 = N,N′-bis(2′-hydroxy-benzyliden)-1,6-diamino-3-azahexane) has been prepared and Mössbauer spectroscopy assigned a high-spin (S = 5/2) state at room temperature. The precursor is combined with the bridging units [SbV(X)6]? (X = CN?, NCS?) to yield star-shaped heptanuclear clusters [(LFeIII–X)6SbV]Cl5. The star-shaped compounds are in general high-spin systems at room temperature. On cooling to 20 K some of the iron(III) centers switch to the low-spin state as indicated by Mössbauer spectroscopy, i.e. multiple electronic transitions. While the cyano-bridged complex performs a multiple spin transition the thiocyanate-compound shows no significant population at both temperatures.  相似文献

A series of ruthenium(II) complexes bearing redox-active o-benzoquinonediimines (o-bqdi) was synthesized and characterized. Reactions of [RuCl(bdmpza)(η4-cod)] (bdmpza = bis(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)acetato; cod = 1,5-cyclooctadiene) and 1,2-benzenediamines such as o-phenylenediamine (o-pdaH2), 4,5-difluoro-1,2-benzenediamine (o-pdaF2), 4,5-dichloro-1,2-benzenediamine (o-pdaCl2), and 4,5-dimethoxy-1,2-benzenediamine (o-pda(OMe)2) afforded [RuCl(bdmpza)(o-bqdiX2)] (X = H, 1; X = F, 2; X = Cl, 3; X = OMe, 4).  相似文献

Cationic palladium(II) and rhodium(I) complexes bearing 1,2-diaryl-3,4-bis[(2,4,6-tri-t-butylphenyl)phosphinidene]cyclobutene ligands (DPCB–Y) were prepared and their structures and catalytic activity were examined (aryl = phenyl (DPCB), 4-methoxyphenyl (DPCB–OMe), 4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl (DPCB–CF3)). The palladium complexes [Pd(MeCN)2(DPCB–Y)]X2 (X = OTf, BF4, BAr4 (Ar = 3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)) were prepared by the reactions of DPCB–Y with [Pd(MeCN)4]X2, which were generated from Pd(OAc)2 and HX in MeCN. On the other hand, the rhodium complexes [Rh(MeCN)2(DPCB–Y)]OTf were prepared by the treatment of [Rh(μ-Cl)(cyclooctene)2]2 with DPCB–Y in CH2Cl2, followed by treatment with AgOTf in the presence of MeCN. The cationic complexes catalyzed conjugate addition of benzyl carbamate to α,β-unsaturated ketones.  相似文献

Dissociative electron attachment to SO2, NO2, NF3 and H2O2 is studied in terms of the kinetic energies of the dominant fragment ions. The O? data from SO2 show that the two major resonances at 4.6 and 7.2 eV respectively have the same dissociation limit. Similarly, the resonances at 1.8 and 3.5 eV in the O? channel in NO2 appear to have same dissociation limit of NO (X 2Π) + O?, while the resonance at 8.5 eV appears to dissociate to give NO (a 4Πi) along with O?. We find considerable internal excitation of the neutral fragments in all these cases along with that of NF3, whereas the negative ion resonance in H2O2 appears to fragment almost like a diatomic system with very little internal excitation of the OH and OH? fragments.  相似文献

The syntheses are reported of the novel heteroleptic organostannylenes [2,6-(ROCH2)2C6H3]SnCl (1, R = Me; 2, R = t-Bu) and of their tungstenpentacarbonyl complexes [2,6-(ROCH2)2C6H3](X)SnW(CO)5 (3, X = Cl, R = Me; 4, X = Cl, R = t-Bu; 5, X = H, R = Me). The compounds were characterized by means of elemental analyses, 1H, 13C, 119Sn NMR spectroscopies, electrospray mass spectrometry and in case of 3 and 4 also by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. For the two latter compounds the substituents bound at the ether oxygen atom control the strength of intramolecular O  Sn coordination. Thus, the O–Sn distances amount to 2.391(5)/2.389(5) (3) and 2.464(3)/2.513(3) Å (4).  相似文献
