The electric conductivity of a metallic cylindrical wire in a longitudinal magnetic field is calculated. The case when the radius of the wire is much smaller than its length is considered. As the boundary condition of the problem, the condition of diffuse reflection of electrons from the inner surface of the wire is adopted. We examine the ballistic conductance of a quantum wire in a parallel magnetic field in the presence of several impurities and derive analytic expressions for the transmission coefficient and the conductance in such a system. We show that scattering by impurities leads to a number of sharp peaks near the thresholds of the conductance quantization steps. The number of such peaks is determined by the distance between the impurities and the energy of the scattered particle. We also study the conductivity of a quantum wire in the region where the transport mechanism is diffusive. The conductivity is examined for the case in which charge carriers are scattered by randomly distributed point impurities. We study Shubnikov-de Haas oscillations in such a system. Approximate 1.5-dimensional MHD equations are derived that describe the quasi-adiabatic compression of a thin plasma column by a longitudinal magnetic field. The parameters of the compressed plasma are obtained analytically as functions of the initial conditions and longitudinal field. The stability of plasma compression against the Rayleigh-Taylor instability is investigated. It is shown that, in the Z-Θ-pinch geometry, increasing the longitudinal magnetic field makes it possible to achieve radial compression ratios of 20–30 without violating the cylindrical symmetry of the column. The possibility of thermonuclear ignition in a thin plasma column in a Z-Θ-pinch configuration is studied. The ranges of the initial plasma densities and temperatures and the initial lengths of the plasma column that are needed to achieve ignition in a plasma compressed by a factor of 20–30 are determined. The parameters of the electromagnetic energy source required to achieve such a high plasma compression are estimated.  相似文献

We have created a concept-developed high-voltage microsecond pulses generator. As evidence, we present graphs of the voltage produced by the generator operating at a fixed load. The generator has been developed in Shenyang Polytechnic University. The generator can be used for a variety of industrial and scientific applications, such as validation of electro-diagnostic and study of insulator's properties, creating a voltage in the plasma chemical reactor, the creation of electron beams and x-rays, pulsed power, microwave equipment, etc. The magnitude of the voltage and current to power the high voltage unit and a slew rate of supply voltage used to supply power to the high voltage unit of a conventional line type twisted pair cable instead of costly coaxial high voltage cable. Compact high-voltage output unit assembled according to the scheme with a step-up transformer and choke saturation, performing the function of a magnetic switch.  相似文献

We investigated the AC loss characteristics of a low temperature NbTi AC wire by measuring the AC transport current losses in the external AC magnetic field whose components are the longitudinal and transverse ones. The measurement results showed that the AC losses were significantly dependent on the directions and magnitudes of the external longitudinal field component. The AC losses caused by the longitudinal and azimuthal field components were estimated by our previously derived model. The theoretical results well explained the dependence of the AC losses on the longitudinal field components. It was also shown that the AC losses can be substantially reduced by the proper choice of the twisting way.  相似文献

为了深入研究等离子射流阵列的放电特性,利用上升沿1μs、脉宽2μs的微秒脉冲电源产生等离子体射流,通过电压电流波形的测量和发光图像的拍摄,研究了在针-环双电极结构下,不同电极位置以及不同重复脉冲频率下氦气等离子体射流阵列的放电特性。实验结果表明放电最初产生在阵列的两端,随着外加电压幅值的增加,中心管也会有射流产生,最终形成射流阵列。随地电极距管口距离的变远,放电电流和中心管的射流长度均呈现出先增大后减小的变化趋势(20mm处取得最大值),随着重复脉冲频率的增大,放电由不均匀的丝状放电向均匀放电转变,放电电流先减小而后保持不变。  相似文献

Multiwall carbon nanotubes exhibit oscillations of magnetoresistance with the period Φ0=hc/2e [A. Bachtold, C. Strunk, J.-P. Salvetat, et al., Nature 397, 673 (1999)]. This effect is analogous to the Sharvin effect for a normal metal [D. Yu. Sharvin and Yu. V. Sharvin, Pis’ma Zh. Éksp. Teor. Fiz. 34, 285 (1981)]. It is shown that, along with the magnetoresistance peaks corresponding to the flux values that are multiples of Φ 0, additional peaks with a period three times shorter can be observed in carbon nanotubes.  相似文献

A number of materials MR developments require that measurements be made in a large magnetic field gradient, including unilateral (single-sided) magnet designs for portability and open access. In such cases, all radiofrequency (RF) pulses are slice selective. Typically, little effort is made to tailor the shape of the selected slice, because shaped RF excitations are viewed as too lengthy in duration to be useful in materials MRI, where signal lifetimes are mostly less than 1 ms. We compare measured magnetization responses to various standard shaped pulses under extreme conditions of application (30 μs duration, offset frequencies up to 0.3 MHz, and in the presence of a 13 T/m permanent magnetic field gradient). We discuss the feasibility of their implementation for materials MRI in a large gradient, including the difficulty of choosing optimized pulse area, and propose viable solutions.  相似文献

The electric conductivity of a cylindrical metal wire in a longitudinal magnetic field is analyzed with regard to the specular-diffuse boundary condition for electrons. Based on the analytic solution obtained, a theoretical interpretation is given to the experimental data on the magnetoresistance of a thin cylindrical wire. We investigate dynamical transport properties of interacting electrons moving in a vibrating nanoelectromechanical wire in a magnetic field. We have built an exactly solvable model in which the electron-electron interaction is considered nonperturbatively and the electric current and mechanical vibration are treated fully quantum mechanically on an equal footing. We demonstrate our theory by calculating the admittance of a finite-size wire, which is influenced by the magnetic field strength, the electron-electron interaction, and the complex interplay between the mechanical and the electrical energy scales. Nontrivial features including sharp resonance peaks appear in the admittance, which may be experimentally observable.  相似文献

The cylindrical column plasma of a neon dc glow discharge under the influence of a weak longitudinal magnetic field is studied. An extended, fully self-consistent model of the column plasma has been used to determine the kinetic quantities of electrons, ions and excited atoms, the radial space charge field, and the axial electric field for given discharge conditions. The model includes a nonlocal kinetic treatment of the electrons by solving their spatially inhomogeneous kinetic equation, taking into account the radial space charge field and the axial magnetic field. The treatment is based on the two-term expansion of the velocity distribution and comprises the determination of its isotropic and anisotropic components in the axial, radial, and azimuthal direction. A transition from a distinctly nonlocal kinetic behavior of the electrons in the magnetic-field-free case to an almost local kinetic behavior has been found by increasing the magnetic field. The establishment of the electron cyclotron motion around the column axis increasingly restricts the radial electron energy transport and reduces the radial ambipolar current. The complex interaction of these transport phenomena with the alterations in the charge carrier production leads finally to a specific variation of the electric field components. The axial field increases by applying weak magnetic fields, however, decreases with increasingly higher magnetic fields. 介绍了一种微秒长脉冲有磁场的真空二极管界面的设计和实验结果。采取了三种措施来抑制沿面闪络:一是阴极电子束挡板,用来拦截来自阴极和电子束漂移管的回流电子束;二是接地屏蔽板,使电场等势线和界面成约45°角,使阴极三结合点处发射的电子远离绝缘板;三是降低阴极三结合点处的场强,并使用一悬浮电位的金属环阻止电子倍增过程。计算了二极管内电场、磁场分布和电子束的运动轨迹并据此优化了真空界面的结构,实验验证了该二极管真空界面可以在400 kV、800 ns条件下正常工作,可以支持长脉冲高功率微波器件的研究。  相似文献

Wave nature of stationary moving striations in helium and neon discharges in a uniform longitudinal magnetic field is studied. With the increase of the magnetic field, the frequency of natural striations decreases, while the wave length increases, and they damp out at high field region. Artificial excitations in these gases show that the wave length is proportional to the excitation frequency for given magnetic field and the slope of linear lines increases with the field. These wave nature of striations is explained following the dispersion relation derived from the consideration of waves of ionization and including effects of the magnetic field on the ionization.  相似文献
