Self-consistent-field (SCF ) wave functions are used to calculate cross sections for the elastic and inelastic scattering of fast electrons and x-rays from CH4 and C2H2 molecules. The effects of basis set choice and free rotation on these cross sections are investigated. The utility of an approximate scheme to correct SCF inelastic cross sections for the effects of electron correlation is examined. The probability density for the interelectronic distance, or radial intracule density, is obtained and discussed.  相似文献

The mechanisms of double synchronous proton transfer in associates of formic acid with solvent molecules of the HC(O)OHX (X = CH4, NH3, H2O, or HF) and HC(O)OHFHY (Y = CH3F, NH2F, HOF, F2, or HF) types have been studied by anab initio (SCF/3G) method. The calculated activation barriers of the reactions are 78.52, 17.72, 9.91, and 7.06 kcal mol–1 in the former case and 120.1, 259.4, 228.7, 182.8, and 0.35 kcal mol–1 in the latter case. In the latter case, simultaneously with the double transfer of protons, migration of two fluorine atoms along the chain of the associate occurs.Dedicated to Academician of the RAS N. S. The possibility of formation of (SiO2)60@H2O, (SiO2)60@CH4, and (SiO2)60@CH3NH2 endohedral complexes was studied by the density functional (DFT) method (B3LYP exchange correlation functional, 6-31G** basis). The penetration of these molecules into the cavity of fullerene-like silica molecules is hindered by high activation barriers, which ensures the stability of the complexes formed during the synthesis of these molecules.  相似文献

A transformation of the transverse Coulomb vector potential was implemented to calculate molecular magnetic properties via the random-phase approximation (RPA) within the framework of a “longitudinal gauge.” In this gauge, the diamagnetic contribution to magnetic susceptibility is a tensor with equal diagonal components as in atoms, irrespective of molecular symmetry, whereas diagonal and average diamagnetic contributions to the nuclear magnetic shielding are the same as in the Coulomb gauge. Near-Hartree–Fock magnetic susceptibility and nuclear magnetic shielding tensors were evaluated for a set of small molecules, HF, H2O, NH3, and CH4, employing extended Gaussian basis sets. The peculiar features of the longitudinal gauge, and the fulfillment of a series of sum rules involving the virial operator, which must be satisfied to guarantee gauge invariance of total magnetic tensors, were exploited to check the degree of convergence of theoretical values and to estimate the corresponding Hartree–Fock limit for the properties. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. By developing the semi-empirical formula recently obtained for total cross sections of electron scattering from diatomic molecules in the intermediate- and highenergy range, we calculate the total cross sections for electron scattering from molecules (NH3 and H2O) over an incident energy range of 10–1000 eV. The total cross sections have also been calculated by using the complex optical potential and the additivity rule. Compared with other available experimental and calculating data, excellent agreements have been achieved. The developed semi-empirical formula reflects that total cross sections for electron scattering from NH3 and H2O in the intermediate- and high-energy range quantitatively depend on the bond length.  相似文献

Phenyl acetylene complexes with HF, H2O, and NH3 are investigated with ab initio molecular orbital calculations using the 6-31G Gaussian basis set. HF is found to form a π complex, whereas H2O and NH3 form σ complexes. Observations of experimental spectroscopic shifts are rationalized.  相似文献

Hydrogen exchange reactions between lithium and sodium compounds, MX (M=Li: X=H, CH3, NH2, OH, F; M=Na: X=CH3), and the corresponding hydrides, HX, have been modelled by means of ab initio calculations including electron correlation and zero point energy (ZPE) corrections. Small or no activation barriers (from the initial complexes) are encountered in systems involving lone pairs (10.8, 2.4, 0.0 kcal/mol for X=NH2, OH, F, respectively). Since the association energies of the initial complexes are much larger (21.0, 20.4, 23.5 kcal/mol, respectively; MP2/6–31+G*/6–31+G* + ZPE), such exchange reactions should occur spontaneously in the gas phase. The methyl systems (X=CH3) have the largest barriers: 26.7 (M=Li) and 31.7 (M=Na) kcal/mol (MP2/6–31+G*/6–31G* + ZPE), and the initial complexes are only weakly bound. The significance of these systems as models for hydrogen exchange reactions in complexes of electropositive transition metals is discussed. However, the gegenion-free exchange of hydrogen between CH3 and CH4 has a much lower, 11.8 kcal/mol barrier (MP2/6–31+G*/6–31+G* + ZPE). All the transition structures are highly ionic (charges on the metals > +0.8). The effect of aggregation has been considered by examining the hydrogen exchange between (LiX)2 and HX(X=H, CH3, NH2, OH). Although these dimer reactions formally involve six, instead of four electrons, no “aromatic” preference is observed.  相似文献

Ab initio molecular orbital calculations have been performed to explore the reaction potential energy surfaces of silylenoid H2SiLiF with XH n hydrides, where XH n = CH4, NH3, H2O, HF, SiH4, PH3, H2S, and HCl. We have identified a previously unreported reaction pathway on each reaction surface, H2SiLiF + H-XH n 1 → H n XSiLiF + H2, which involves H2 elimination following the initial formation of an association complex via a four-membered ring transition state to form the substituted three-membered ring silylenoid H n XSiLiF and a H2 molecule. This theoretical calculations suggest that (i) for H2 eliminations there is a very clear trend toward lower activation barriers and more exothermic interactions on going from left to right along a given row in periodic table, and (ii) for the second-row hydrides, the H2 elimination reactions are less exothermic than for the first-row hydrides and the reaction barriers are lower for X–S and Cl. Compared to the insertions of H2SiLiF into XH n , the H2 elimination pathways should be unfavorable with higher barrier and lower exothermic.  相似文献

The infrared spectra of the title compounds, as well as that of the structurally related mineral meta-autunite, [Ca(UO2)2(PO4)2·n H2O], are reported and discussed using the available crystallographic data. 采用等温溶解法测定了偏钒酸铵(NH4VO3)在NH4H2PO4-H2O和(NH4)3PO4-H2O体系中T = 298.15-328.15 K时的溶解度以及溶液的密度和pH值。结果表明, NH4VO3的溶解度随着(NH4)3PO4或NH4H2PO4溶液浓度的增大,先降低后升高,这是由于同离子效应、化学反应平衡及离子活度的共同作用。比较T = 298.15K时, NH4VO3分别在NH4H2PO4-H2O、(NH4)2HPO4-H2O和(NH4)3PO4-H2O体系中溶解度,发现在相同的磷酸盐浓度下, NH4VO3的溶解度在NH4H2PO4-H2O体系中最大,在(NH4)3PO4-H2O体系中居中,在(NH4)2HPO4-H2O体系中最小。进一步地,在T = 298.15 K和磷酸盐浓度C = 0.5 mol·kg-1时,结合pH值和反应溶度积常数KSP等计算三个体系中的平均离子活度系数(γ±),发现γ±值在(NH4)2HPO4-H2O体系中最大,在(NH4)3PO4-H2O体系中居中,在NH4H2PO4-H2O体系中最小,与溶解度规律一致。  相似文献

DFT calculations at the B3LYP/6-31G(d,p) level have been performed to explore the substitution reactions of silylenoid H(2)SiLiF with XH(n) hydrides, where XH(n) = CH(4), NH(3), H(2)O, HF, SiH(4), PH(3), H(2)S, and HCl. We have identified a previously unreported reaction pathway on each reaction surface, H(2)SiLiF + XH(n) --> H(3)SiF + LiXH(n-1), which involved the initial formation of an association complex via a five-membered cyclic transition state to form an intermediate followed by the substituted product H(3)SiF with LiXH(n-1) dissociating. These theoretical calculations suggest that (i) there is a very clear trend toward lower activation barriers and more exothermic interactions on going from left to right along a given row in the periodic table, and (ii) for the second-row hydrides, the substitution reactions are more exothermic than for the first-row hydrides and the reaction barriers are lower. The solvent effects were considered by means of the polarized continuum model (PCM) using THF as a solvent. The presence of THF solvent disfavors slightly the substitution reaction. Compared to the previously reported insertions and H(2)-elimination reactions of H(2)SiLiF and XH(n), the substitution reactions should be most favorable.  相似文献

The perturbation theory is used to evaluate first order SCF corrections upon Roothaan type molecular wave functions due to one-electron perturbations. The method is applied to the one-center SCF MO wave functions of HF, H2O, NH3 and CH4 to calculate the electrical polarizability and the magnetic susceptibility tensors. The results obtained agree reasonably well with the available experimental data. The effects of the limited number of basis functions upon the final results are discussed.
Zusammenfassung Es werden Störungen erster Ordnung an SCF-MO-Wellenfunktionen, hervorgerufen durch Einelektronenstöroperatoren, im Rahmen der Störungstheorie behandelt. Insbesondere werden die Tensoren der elektrischen Polarisierbarkeit und der magnetischen Suszeptibilität unter Verwendung von Einzentrumfunktionen für HF, H2O, NH3 und CH4 berechnet. Die Ergebnisse werden mit den verfügbaren experimentellen Daten verglichen. Die Effekte der endlichen Basisgröße auf die Resultate werden diskutiert.

Résumé La théorie des perturbations est utilisée pour évaleur les corrections SCF du premier ordre, aux fonctions d'onde moléculaires du type Roothaan, dûes à des perturbations monoélectroniques. La méthode est appliquée aux fonctions d'ondes SCF MO à un centre de HF, H2O, NH3 et CH3, pour le calcul des tenseurs de polarisabilité électronique et de susceptibilité magnétique. Les résultats obtenus sont en accord raisonnable avec les données expérimentales disponibles. L'effet du nombre limité de fonctions de base sur le résultat est discuté.

The interactions of HF, H2O and NH3 with Br2 are investigated at the MP2(full)/ aug-cc-pVDZ level. It is found that two kinds of stable complexes, halogen-bonded and hydrogen- bonded complexes, exist between Br2 and HF and between Br2 and H2O. The interaction energy analysis and natural population analysis (NPA) are conducted to these two kinds of complexes, indicating the halogen-bonded complexes are more stable than the corresponding hydrogen-bonded ones, and the binding energies of the former increase in the order HFH2O for the latter.  相似文献

By counterpoise‐corrected optimization method, the interactions of BrCl with the first‐row hydrides (HF, H2O, NH3) have been investigated at the MP2/6–311++G(3d,3p) level. To understand that the X? Br‐type (X = F, O, N) structure is more stable than the corresponding hydrogen‐bonded structure in these complexes, the electronic properties were also investigated. Symmetry‐adapted perturbation theory (SAPT) analysis has been carried out to understand the nature of the weak hydrogen bond and X? Br‐type interactions. On the other hand, for the weak hydrogen‐bonded complexes and the X? Br‐type complexes charges transfer is well correlated with the total induction energies. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. FT IR and FT Raman spectra of Ag3(PO2NH), (Compound 1), Na3(PO2NH)3 x H2O (Compound II), Na3(PO2NH)3 x 4H2O (Compound III), [C(NH2)3]3(PO2NH)3 x H2O (Compound IV) and (NH4)4(PO2NH)4 x 4H2O (Compound V) are recorded and analyzed on the basis of the anions, cations and water molecules present in each of them. The PO2NH- anion ring in compound I is distorted due to the influence of Ag+ cation. Wide variation in the hydrogen bond lengths in compound III is indicated by the splitting of the v2 and v3 modes of vibration of water molecules. The NH4 ion in compound V occupies lower site symmetry and exhibits hindered rotation in the lattice. The correlations between the symmetric and asymmetric stretching vibrations of P-N-P bridge and the P-N-P bond angle have also been discussed.  相似文献

The IR and Raman spectra and the thermal behaviour of the isomorphous compounds (NH4)3Ga(C2O4)3·3H2O and (NH4)3Al(C2O4)3·3H2O were investigated. Detailed stoichiometries, sustained by TG, DTA and IR spectroscopic analyses, were found in both cases. Different results, associated with the different polarizing powers of the metal cations, were obtained. The first evidence was found of the formation of basic gallium carbonates.  相似文献
