The electronic energy level structure of the corrugated graphene electron subjected to a magnetic field tilted with respect to the graphene plane and an in-plane homogeneous magnetic field is investigated theoretically within the perturbation framework. It is shown that the anisotropy induced by the tilted magnetic field strongly modifies the Fermi velocity of the corrugated graphene electron, and the corrugated structure yields intrinsic Weiss oscillations in both Fermi velocity and the graphene Landau levels.  相似文献

The energy spectrum of electrons in doped graphene corresponding to the Landau levels in an external transverse magnetic field has been calculated in the low-energy approximation. The magnetic-field dependence of the electrical conductivity has been determined based on the derived dispersion relation of electrons in the doped graphene. The behavior of the conductivity has been analyzed for different impurity parameters, such as the hybridization potential and energy of adsorbed atoms.  相似文献

The density of states of a two-dimensional electron in a strong magnetic field moving in a periodic and a random potential is calculated. The results are compared with the density of states of the Landau model with disorder as obtained in the single band approximation. The limitations of the single band model are discussed.  相似文献

We theoretically investigate the effect of a magnetic field perpendicular to the tunneling direction on the ground-state properties of biexcitons in coupled quantum dots. The single-particle states are computed by numerically solving the 3D Scrödinger equation. The biexciton states are obtained by means of a configuration-interaction approach, which fully accounts for the intra- and inter-dot Coulomb correlations. We show that the biexciton ground state undergoes non-trivial transitions as a function of the applied magnetic field, which can be traced back to unexpected carrier localizations.  相似文献

The optical response of an inverted InAs/GaSb quantum well is studied theoretically. The influence of an in-plane magnetic field that is applied parallel to the quantum well is considered. This in-plane magnetic field will induce a dynamical polarization even when the electric field component of the external optical field is parallel to the quantum well.The electron–electron interaction in the quantum well system will lead to the de-polarization effect. This effect is found to be important and is taken into account in the calculation of the optical response. It is found that the main feature in the frequency dependence of the velocity–velocity correlation function remains when the velocity considered is parallel to the in-plane magnetic field. When the direction of the velocity is perpendicular to the in-plane magnetic field, the depolarization effect will suppress the oscillatory behavior in the corresponding velocity–velocity correlation function. The in-plane magnetic field can change the band structure of the quantum well drastically from a gapped semiconductor to a no-gapped semi-metal, but it is found that the distribution of the velocity matrix elements or the optical transition matrix elements in the wave vector space has the same two-tadpole topology.  相似文献

The spin configurations in the absence of an external magnetic field have been systematically investigated for a magnetic bilayer system consisting of two ferromagnetic layers separated by a non-magnetic layer with interlayer exchange coupling. Based on a phenomenological model, the conditions for the existence of collinear and non-collinear spin structures were derived for three kinds of magnetic bilayers with different combinations of in-plane cubic and uniaxial anisotropies for the two ferromagnetic layers. The phase diagrams of the spin configurations at zero field were drawn, taking into account the lowest-order anisotropy parameters of both the ferromagnetic layers. The values of the canting angle have been derived analytically and then numerically plotted.  相似文献

We report on a magneto-luminescence on a double quantum well subject to an in-plane magnetic field. The attention is paid to the properties of interwell excitons, which are indirect in the real space and which become indirect in the reciprocal space as well when a finite in-plane magnetic field is applied. Such indirect exciton states become optically inactive unless some relaxation mechanisms of their momentum appear. The experiment is carried out on a sample where, as reported previously, the radiative recombination of indirect excitons is possible due to their localization or via collisions with structural defects. The experimental data presented here, measured at various temperatures, favour the latter mechanism which is less sensitive to the system temperature in comparison with the former one.  相似文献

The fate of the charge-neutral Dirac point in graphene in a high magnetic field H has been investigated at low temperatures (T approximately 0.3 K). In samples with small gate-voltage offset V0, the resistance R0 at the Dirac point diverges steeply with H, signaling a crossover to a state with a very large R0. The approach to this state is highly unusual. Despite the steep divergence in R0, the profile of R0 vs T in fixed H saturates to a T-independent value below 2 K, consistent with gapless charge-carrying excitations.  相似文献

The existence of a spontaneous magnetization in the three-dimensional Ising model in a weak random magnetic field (RFIM) is investgated. Following Imry and Ma, we consider the energy change, E, from the fully aligned ferromagnetic state caused by flipping all the spins inside a connected surface, . It is proved rigorously that with high probability, E is positive forall enclosing the origin. Under the unproven assumption that the expectation value of the spin at one site is weakly correlated with the random fields at far away sites (which is true if surfaces within surfaces can be ignored) it follows that the three-dimensional RFIM has a spontaneous magnetization at low temperatures. The proof works for all dimensions greater than two, providing support for the conjecture that two is the lower critical dimension.Work supported in part by NSF grant No. DMR 8100417.  相似文献

The toroidal (orthogonal) decomposition of the vector potential of a magnetic field is proposed. Based on this decomposition, equations of electrodynamics of non-varying and varying electromagnetic fields are derived. 我们研究了包含自旋轨道耦合与杂质散射在内的石墨烯量子磁振荡对外加电磁场的响应.我们发现,石墨烯中自旋轨道耦合、电磁场以及边界共同修正了朗道能谱,且当电场与磁场比值超过某一临界值时,量子磁振荡会突然消失,这与非相对论二维电子气的情况显著不同.这种现象可以通过朗道量子化轨道由封闭转化为开放的半经典理论来解释.此外,我们还发现杂质散射和温度的共同作用会使得磁振荡振幅衰减.我们的结果可用于分析石墨烯及其类似结构(硅烯、锗烯、锡烯等)的费米能级与朗道能谱的相互作用,进而探测自旋轨道耦合引起的能隙.  相似文献

The electronic structure in the vicinity of the 1-heptagonal and 1-pentagonal defects in the carbon graphene plane is investigated for the case of hyperboloidal geometry. Using a continuum gauge field-theory model, the local density of states around the Fermi energy is calculated for both cases. In this model, the disclination is represented by a SO(2) gauge vortex and the corresponding metrics follows from the elasticity properties of the graphene membrane. To enhance the interval of energies, a self-consistent perturbation scheme is used. The Landau states are investigated and compared with the predicted values. A discussion on the influence of the Zeeman effect is included.  相似文献
