Inclusion of the coupling of quasiparticle degrees of freedom with phonon degrees is a natural extention of the standard QRPA approach. The paper presents the quantitative impact of this phonon coupling on the dipole strength and radiative neutron capture for the stable 124Sn and very exotic 150Sn isotopes, as an illustration, using the self-consistent version of the Extended Theory of Finite Fermi Systems. It was found that the phonon contribution to the pygmy-dipole resonance and radiative neutron capture cross section is increased with the (N − Z) difference growth. The results show that the self-consistent nuclear structure calculations are important for unstable nuclei, where phenomenological approaches do not work.  相似文献

The neutron dispersive optical potential for Ag isotopes is constructed for a wide range of variation in the N number. Good agreement with the experimental data on the scattering of neutrons by 107Аg isotopes, and on single-particle energies and the probabilities of subshell occupation near the Fermi energy, is obtained for stable isotopes 107, 109Ag using the dispersive optical model. Calculations that predict the evolution of the neutron single-particle energies up to the boundary of neutron stability are performed. It is shown that new magic number N = 56 (for Z = 40) disappears upon moving from Zr to Sn in an isotonic chain with N = 56, due to rapid deepening of level 1g 7/2.  相似文献

The conditions under which (n,γ) and (n,2n) reactions can help or hinder each other in neutron transmutation of long-lived fission products (LLFPs) are considered. Isotopic and elemental transmutation for the main long-lived fission products, 79Se, 93Zr, 99Tc, 107Pd, 126Sn, 129I, and 135Cs, are considered. The effect of (n,2n) reactions on the equilibrium amount of nuclei of the transmuted isotope and the neutron consumption required for the isotope processing is estimated. The aim of the study is to estimate the influence of (n,2n) reactions on efficiency of neutron LLFP transmutation. The code TIME26 and the libraries of evaluated nuclear data ABBN-93, JEF-PC, and JANIS system are applied. The following results are obtained: (1) The effect of (n,2n) reactions on the minimum number of neutrons required for transmutation and the equilibrium amount of LLFP nuclei is estimated. (2) It is demonstrated that, for three LLFP isotopes (126Sn, 129I, and 135Cs), (n,γ) and (n,2n) reactions are partners facilitating neutron transmutation. The strongest effect of (n,2n) reaction is found for 126Sn transmutation (reduction of the neutron consumption by 49% and the equilibrium amount of nuclei by 19%).  相似文献

Weak interaction rates are studied in neutron deficient Kr and Sr waiting-point isotopes in ranges of densities and temperatures relevant for the rp process. The nuclear structure is described within a microscopic model (deformed QRPA) that reproduces not only the half-lives but also the Gamow–Teller strength distributions recently measured. The various sensitivities of the decay rates to both density and temperature are discussed. Continuum electron capture is shown to contribute significantly to the weak rates at rp-process conditions.  相似文献

Experimental neutron and proton single-particle energies in N = 12 to N = 20 silicon isotopes and data on neutron and proton scattering by nuclei of the isotope 28Si are analyzed on the basis of the dispersive optical model. Good agreement with available experimental data was attained. The occupation probabilities calculated for the single-particle states in question suggest a parallel-type filling of the 1d and 2s 1/2 neutron states in the isotopes 26,28,30,32,34Si. The single-particle spectra being considered are indicative of the closure of the Z = 14 proton subshell in the isotopes 30,32,34Si and the N = 20 neutron shell.  相似文献

Experimental studies of neutron drip line nuclei are introduced. The neutron drip line in the oxygen-magnesium region has been explored by the projectile fragmentation of a 48Ca beam. New neutron-rich isotopes, 34Ne and 37Na, have been observed together with some evidence for the particle instability of 33Ne and 36Na. Recent data on mass measurements of neutron-rich nuclei at GANIL and some characteristics of binding energies in this region are discussed. Nuclear binding energies are very sensitive to the existence of nuclear shells, and together with the measurements of instability of doubly magic nuclide 28O, they provide information on changes in neutron shell closures of very neutron-rich isotopes from carbon up to calcium. The conclusion about a rearrangement in neutron shell closures is given. The spectroscopic measurements can reveal details of the underlying microscopic structures; in-beam γ-ray spectroscopy is an effective tool to check for shell closures. The results on the γ-ray energies of the first 2+ level in even-even nuclei for the range N=12–32 are discussed. The strength of N=20 and N=28 shells is variable in the region from carbon up to magnesium.  相似文献

We consider the Hartree-Fock-Bogolyubov theory of nuclei in the coordinate representation and derive and solve the HFB equation for the Skyrme effective interaction. Ground-state wave functions and energies of the tin isotopes with 100 ? A ? 176 have been determined and the results have been compared with the predictions of the HF+BCS and macroscopic-microscopic models. The lightest tin isotope which is unstable with respect to a neutron emission is predicted by the HFB method to be 153Sn. In the region of nuclei where experimental data are not available the macroscopic-microscopic and self-consistent approximations give substantially different results.  相似文献

The radial distributions of proton and neutron densities in the even–even isotopes 40?70Cа and 48?78Ni and the analogous distributions of neutron densities in the even–even isotopes 92?138Mo were calculated on the basis of the mean-fieldmodel involving a dispersive optical potential. The respective root-mean-square radii and neutron-skin thicknesses were determined for the nuclei under study. In N > 40 calcium isotopes, the calculated neutron root-mean-square radius exhibits a fast growth with increasing N, and this is consistent with the prediction of the neutron-halo structure in calcium isotopes near the neutron drip line.  相似文献

Experiments aimed at detecting and investigating neutron resonances in the \(^{178m_2 } Hf\) isomer are described, and the results obtained in these experiments are presented. The investigations in question are of great interest since the structure of this isomer—it is interpreted as the (π7/2+, π9/2+, ν7/2+, ν9/2+) configuration—and its high spin of J=16 differ significantly from the structure and spin of nuclei studied previously. The experiments performed at the Kurchatov Institute employed a neutron source based on the FAKEL linear electron accelerator and a multisection detector from NaI(Tl) crystals that was able to ensure a 4π coverage. This equipment made it possible to study gamma-ray cascades in radiative neutron capture versus neutron energy. Despite an extremely small number of isomer nuclei, a low content of the isomer in the target used, and its high radioactivity, resonances were discovered that arise upon neutron capture by a high-spin \(^{178m_2 } Hf\) nucleus. The parameters of these resonances were found. The mean spacing between the revealed resonances is about 1 eV, which is consistent with calculations based on the Fermi gas model. This indicates that the Fermi gas model describes well the density of both low-and high-spin levels. At the same time, the above agreement suggests that, upon the formation of a compound nucleus, the structure of the isomeric state is destroyed completely. On the other hand, glaring discrepancies between experimental data and the predictions of the statistical model were found: gamma transitions from high-spin resonances (J=31/2+, 33/2+) populate predominantly the low-spin ground state (J=9/2+) rather than the high-spin state of the \(^{178m_2 } Hf\) isomer (J=25/2?); the radiative width is approximately one-third as great as that which is predicted by the statistical model; and the properties of gamma cascades are different for different resonances, this difference being beyond statistical fluctuations. The results of the present investigation make it possible to reveal special features in the behavior of the quantum number K at high excitation energies.  相似文献

We combine the thermal QRPA approach with the Skyrme energy density functional theory (Skyrme–TQRPA) for modelling the process of electron capture on nuclei in supernova environment. For a sample nucleus, 56Fe, the Skyrme–TQRPA approach is applied to analyze thermal effects on the strength function of GT+ transitions which dominate electron capture at E e ≤ 30 MeV. Several Skyrme interactions are used in order to verify the sensitivity of the obtained results to the Skyrme force parameters. Finite-temperature cross sections are calculated and the results are comparedwith those of the other model calculations.  相似文献

A pairspectrometer of the 180°-focussing type with high efficiency and good resolution is described. The efficiency has been determined in function of the energy, both theoretically and experimentally and it is possible, therefore, to use this spectrometer for absolute calibration of gamma rays above 2·5 MeV. The evaluation methods of the pair spectra allow the single line to be determined with an error as little as ±8 keV (from 2·5 to 9 MeV). We have measured the neutron capture gamma spectrum of J127, Cs133, Ir191,193, Bi200 and given the energy and intensity of the resolved gamma rays. From these results it is possible to compute the binding energy of the last neutron and also some unknown levels. The experiments, which have been performed in connection with the pairspectrometer, have shown an interesting possibility for research work with reactors. With an appropriate experimental arrangement and some special neutron capture gamma spectra, monochromatic gamma rays in the energy range between 3 and 11 MeV are obtained, which are better and much more intense as corresponding gamma rays from (p, γ) reactions.  相似文献

Charge-exchange states, the so-called “pigmy” resonances, which are below the giant Gamow–Teller resonance, have been studied in the self-consistent theory of finite Fermi systems. Microscopic numerical calculations and semiclassical calculations are presented for nine tin isotopes with the mass numbers A =112, 114, 116, 117, 118, 119, 120, 122, and 124, for which experimental data exist. These data have been obtained in the Sn(3He,t)Sb charge-exchange reaction at the energy E(3He) = 200 MeV. The comparison of calculations with experimental data on the energies of charge-exchange resonances gives the standard deviation δE < 0.40 MeV for microscopic numerical calculations and δE < 0.55 MeV for calculations by semiclassical formulas, which are comparable with experimental errors. The strength function for the 118Sn isotope has been calculated. It has been shown that the calculated resonance energies are close to the experimental values; the calculated and experimental relations between heights of pygmy resonance peaks are also close to each other.  相似文献

Delayed fission of atomic nuclei was discovered in 1966. It is observed primarily in odd–odd nuclei for which the energy released in beta decay (K capture) is commensurate with the fission barrier in the nucleus formed after this process. Delayed fission was found in four nuclide regions: neutrondeficient isotopes in the Pb region, neutron-deficient isotopes in the Ac and Pa regions, and neutrondeficient and neutron-rich isotopes of transuranium elements. In the wake of investigations into the properties of isotopes of superheavy transuranium elements, numerous calculations were performed in order to determine the masses of new nuclei and to predict their decay properties. Explored and predicted properties of superheavy-element nuclides, where, for some odd–odd nuclei of transuranium elements, the K-capture energy is commensurate with the fission barriers in the corresponding daughter nuclei formed after K capture, are analyzed. Estimates of the delayed-fission probability are presented for some isotopes of elements whose charge number Z ranges from 103 to 107.  相似文献

The cross sections of partial photoneutron reactions are evaluated for the 63,65Cu and 80Se isotopes. The cross sections are free of systematic uncertainties from shortcomings of the experimental methods for neutron multiplicity sorting based on measurements of neutron energy used in experiments with quasimonoenergetic annihilation photon beams. An experimental-theoretical method is used to evaluate cross sections σeval(γ, in)= Fitheor σexp(γ, xn), where ratios Fitheor = σtheor(γ, in)/σtheor(γ, xn) = σtheor(γ, in)/σtheor[(γ, 1n) + 2(γ, 2n) + …] are calculated using a combined model of photonuclear reactions, and σexp(γ, xn) is the experimental cross section of the neutron yield reaction free from neutron multiplicity sorting problems. The cross sections are evaluated for reactions (γ, 1n) and (γ, 2n) for the 63,65Cu and 80Se isotopes, and for the total photoneutron reaction σ(γ, Sn) = σ[(γ, 1n) + (γ, 2n) + …]. It is shown that noticeable deviations of the experimental cross sections from the evaluated values result from the unreliable sorting of neutrons between the channels with multiplicities 1 and 2.  相似文献

The modes of decay for the even–even isotopes of superheavy nuclei of Z = 118 and 120 with neutron number 160 ≤ N ≤ 204 are investigated in the framework of the axially deformed relativistic mean field model. The asymmetry parameter η and the relative neutron–proton asymmetry of the surface to the center (R η ) are estimated from the ground state density distributions of the nucleus. We analyze the resulting asymmetry parameter η and the relative neutron–proton asymmetry R η of the density play a crucial role in the mode(s) of decay and its half-life. Moreover, the excess neutron richness on the surface, facets a superheavy nucleus for β? decays.  相似文献

Positions of the proton and neutron drip lines and characteristics of the neutron-deficient and neutron-rich Fe and Ni isotopes have been studied by the Hartree-Fock method with the Skyrme forces (Ska, SkM*, Sly4) with allowance for deformation. Pairing was taken into account on the basis of the BCS approximation with the pairing constant G = (19.5/2)[1 ± 0.51(N ? Z)/A]. Manifestation of magic numbers for the nickel isotopes 48Ni, 56Ni, and 78Ni and for the nucleon-stable isotope 110Ni which is beyond the drip line is discussed.  相似文献

For the stable silicon isotopes 28Si and 30Si, the energies and occupancies of single-particle states of the 1d2s shell are determined by analyzing the combined data for the nucleon stripping and pickup reactions. From the results of analysis and the available experimental data, the variation of the 1d2s proton-shell structure with increasing neutron number for the silicon isotopes with A = 26–34 is discussed.  相似文献

We study the proton magic O, Ca, Ni, Zr, Sn, and Pb isotope chains from the proton drip line to the neutron drip line with the relativistic continuum Hartree-Bogoliubov (RCHB) theory. Particulary, we study in detail the properties of even-even Ca isotopes due to the appearance of giant halos in neutron rich Ca nuclei near the neutron drip line. The RCHB theory is able to reproduce the experimental binding energiesE b and two neutron separation energiesS 2n very well. The predicted neutron drip line nuclei are28O,72Ca,98Ni,136Zr,176Sn, and266Pb. Halo and giant halo properties predicted in Ca isotopes withA>60 are investigated in detail through analysis of two neutron separation energies, nucleon density distributions, single particle energy levels, and the occupation probabilities of energy levels including continuum states. The spin-orbit splitting and the diffuseness of nuclear potential in these Ca isotopes, as well as the neighboring lighter isotopes in the drip line Ca region and find certain possibilities of giant halo nuclei in the Ne−Na−Mg drip line nuclei are also studied.  相似文献
