A complete asymptotic expansion of the jacobi functions with error bounds

In this paper we give a complete asymptotic expansion of the Jacobi functions ^{(, )} (t) as + . The method we employed to get the complete expansion follows that of Olver in treating similar problems. By using a Gronwall-Bellman type inequality for an improper integral in which the integrand is an unbounded function and contains a parameter, we get an error bound of the asymptotic approximation which is different from that of Olver's.     

Generalizations of Tarski's fixed point theorem for order varieties of complete meet semilattices

A poset P is -conditionally complete ( a cardinal) if every set X P all of whose subsets of cardinality < have an upper bound has a least upper bound. For we characterize the subposets of a -complete poset which can occur as the set of fixed points of some montonic function on P. This yields a generalization of Tarski's fixed point theorem. A family of noetherian rings with their finite length modules under control

We investigate the category mod of finite length modules over the ring =A _k , where is a V-ring, i.e. a ring for which every simple module is injective, k a subfield of its centre and A an elementary k-algebra. Each simple module E _j gives rise to a quasiprogenerator P _j = A E _j . By a result of K. Fuller, P _j induces a category equivalence from which we deduce that mod _j mod EndP _j . As a consequence we can(1) construct for each elementary k-algebra A over a finite field k a nonartinian noetherian ring such that modA mod(2) find twisted versions of algebras of wild representation type such that itself is of finite or tame representation type (in mod)(3) describe for certain rings the minimal almost split morphisms in mod and observe that almost all of these maps are not almost split in Mod.     

A fixed point theorem for local pseudo-contractions in uniformly convex spaces

Ohne Zusammenfassung Zusatz bei der Korrektur: Ein vollständiger und korrekter Beweis für die Entscheidbarkeit der eingangs angeführten Aanderaaschen Klasse ((0, ), (, , ...)) erscheint demnächst im JSL (S.O. Aanderaa/H.R.Lewis: Prefix classes of Krom formulas). Ebendort wird auch die Reduktionstypeneigenschaft für ((0, ), (0, 0, )) und ((0, )), (0, 0, )) nachgewiesen, während ((0, ), (, )) sich als entscheidbar herausgestellt hat (s. E. Börger: Eine entscheidbare Klasse von Kromformeln. ZMLG 19 (1973), 117–120.) Der Kromsche Reduktionstyp konnte mittlerweile einerseits zu ((0, ), (0, 4)) verschärft werden (s. D. Rödding, E. Börger: The undecidability of (0, 4)-formulae with binary disjunctions, vorgetragen auf dem Logic Coll. Bristol 1973, ein abstract erscheint im JSL), andererseits kündigt H.R.Lewis die Reduktionstypeneigenschaft für ((0, ), (0, 1)) an (s. H.R.Lewis: Krom formulas with one dyadic predicate letter. Notices AMS 20, 5 (1973) A-500, abstr. no. 73T-E78.)Dieser Aufsatz geht aus der Dissertation [2] hervor, die dem Fachbereich Mathematik der Mathematisch-Naturwissenschaftlichen Fakultät der Universität Münster im Sommersemester 1971 vorgelegt worden ist. In the category p b of p-convex vector spaces and linear maps preserving bounded sets a p-bornological topology will be introduced on the tensor product of two spaces, likewise on the spaces of morphisms Hom(E,F). Thus one gets a pair of adjoint functors from p to p , p being the category of p-bornological spaces and continuous linear maps, and the topologies being introduced will be characterized by extreme properties with respect to the adjoint transformations.
