We continue the study of algebras generated by the Cauchy singular integral operator and integral operators with fixed singularities on the unit interval, started in R.Duduchava, E.Shargorodsky, 1990. Such algebras emerge when one considers singular integral operators with complex conjugation on curves with cusps. As one of possible applications of the obtained results we find an explicit formula for the local norms of the Cauchy singular integral operator on the Lebesgue spaceL 2 (, ), where is a curve with cusps of arbitrary order and is a power weight. For curves with angles and cusps of order 1 the formula was already known (see R.Avedanio, N.Krupnik, 1988 and R.Duduchava, N.Krupnik, 1995). In 1951, Heinz showed the following useful norm inequality:If A, B0and XB(H), then AXB r X1–r A r XB r holds for r [0, 1]. In this paper, we shall show the following two applications of this inequality:Firstly, by using Furuta inequality, we shall show an extension of Cordes inequality. Let T- S, be a family of not necessarily bounded semi-Fredholm operators, where T and S are operators acting between Banach spaces X and Y, and where S is bounded with D(S) D(T). For compact sets , as well as for certain open sets , we investigate existence and minimal rank of bounded feedback perturbations of the form F=BE such that min.ind (T-S+F)=0 for all . Here B is a given operator from a linear space Z to Y and E is some operator from X to Z.We give a simple characterization of that situation, when such regularizing feedback perturbations exist and show that for compact sets the minimal rank never exceeds max { min.ind (T-S) }+1. Moreover, an example shows that the minimal rank, in fact, may increase from max {...} to max {...}+1, if the given B enforces a certain structure of the feedbachk perturbation F.However, the minimal rank is equal to max { min.ind (T-S) }, if is an open set such that min.ind (T-S) already vanishes for all but finitely many points . We illustrate this result by applying it to the stabilization of certain infinite-dimensional dynamical systems in Hilbert space.  相似文献

Because of its double periodicity, each elliptic function canonically induces a holomorphic dynamical system on a punctured torus. We introduce on this torus a class of summable potentials. With each such potential associated is the corresponding transfer (Perron-Frobenius-Ruelle) operator. The existence and uniquenss of Gibbs states and equilibrium states of these potentials are proved. This is done by a careful analysis of the transfer operator which requires a good control of all inverse branches. Selfadjoint linear pencils F–G are considered which have discrete spectrum and neither F nor G is definite. Several characterizations are given of a strongly definitizable property when F and G are bounded, and also when both operators are unbounded. Singular integral equations with Cauchy kernel and piecewise-continuous matrix coefficients on open and closed smooth curves are replaced by integral equations with smooth kernels of the form(t–)[(t–) 2n 2 (t) 2]–1,0, wheren(t), t , is a continuous field of unit vectors non-tangential to . we give necessary and sufficient conditions under which the approximating equations have unique solutions and these solutions converge to the solution of the original equation. We characterize generators of sub-Markovian semigroups onL p () by a version of Kato's inequality. This will be used to show (under precise assumptions) that the semigroup generated by a matrix operatorA=(A ij )1i,jn on (L p ()) n is sub-Markovian if and only if the semigroup generated by the sum of each rowA i 1+...+A in (1in), is sub-Markovian. The corresponding result on (C 0(X)) n characterizes dissipative operator matrices.

We deal with the Kreîn-Langer problem for -valued functions on the band (–2a, 2a)×, where is the algebra of continuous linear operators on a Hilbert space ,a a finite positive number and a topological Abelian group. We show that every weakly continuous -indefinite function admits a strongly continuous -indefinite continuation to × with the same indefiniteness index . Let T be a bounded linear operator on a complex Hilbert space . In this paper, we show that T has Bishops property () if and only if its Aluthge transformation has property (). As applications, we can obtain the following results. Every w-hyponormal operator has property (). Quasi-similar w-hyponormal operators have equal spectra and equal essential spectra.
