Abstract

Let RL denote the ring of continuous real-valued functions on a com- pletely regular frame L. The support of an αRL is the closed quotient ↑(coz α)?. We show that if supports are coz-quotients in L, then the set of functions with realcompact support is an ideal. If L satisfies the stronger condition that supports are C-quotients, then this ideal is the intersection of pure parts of the free maximal ideals of RL. The set of functions whose cozeroes are realcompact is always an ideal, which is free if and only if L is locally realcompact if and only if L is (isomorphic to) an open quotient of υL. Further, this ideal is prime if and only if it is a free real maximal ideal if and only if υLL is a one-point extension of L.  相似文献

Abstract

It is a standard fact that the right adjoints h* of general frame homomor- phisms h : L → M send prime elements to prime elements. Unlike this, the preservation of covered prime elements by complete frame homomorphism is a special fact. Indeed, if L is totally ordered this happens (for arbitrary M) if and only if L is well-ordered. On the other hand, if M is both a frame and a co-frame there is no restriction on L.

This work was motivated by the fact that, in an earlier paper, we erroneously claimed h* preserves covered primeness for any complete frame homomorphism h.  相似文献

A Banach space is polyhedral if the unit ball of each of its finite dimensional subspaces is a polyhedron. It is known that a polyhedral Banach space has a separable dual and isc 0-saturated, i.e., each closed infinite dimensional subspace contains an isomorph ofc 0. In this paper, we show that the Orlicz sequence spaceh M is isomorphic to a polyhedral Banach space if lim t→0 M(Kt)/M(t)=∞ for someK<∞. We also construct an Orlicz sequence spaceh M which isc 0-saturated, but which is not isomorphic to any polyhedral Banach space. This shows that beingc 0-saturated and having a separable dual are not sufficient for a Banach space to be isomorphic to a polyhedral Banach space.  相似文献

It is shown that the category of directed graphs is isomorphic to a subcategory of the variety S of all pseudocomplemented semilattices which contains all homomorphisms whose images do not lie in the subvariety B of all Boolean pseudocomplemented semilattices. Moreover, the functor exhibiting the isomorphism may be chosen such that each finite directed graph is assigned a finite pseudocomplemented semilattice. That is to say, it is shown that the variety S of all pseudocomplemented semilattices is finite-to-finite B-relatively universal. This illustrates the complexity of the endomorphism monoids of pseudocomplemented semilattices since it follows immediately that, for any monoid M, there exists a proper class of non-isomorphic pseudocomplemented semilattices such that, for each member S, the endomorphisms of S which do not have an image contained in the skeleton of S form a submonoid of the endomorphism monoid of S which is isomorphic to M. Given a von Neumann algebra M, we consider the central extension E(M) of M. We introduce the topology t c(M) on E(M) generated by a center-valued norm and prove that it coincides with the topology of local convergence in measure on E(M) if and only if M does not have direct summands of type II. We also show that t c(M) restricted to the set E(M) h of self-adjoint elements of E(M) coincides with the order topology on E(M) h if and only if M is a σ-finite type Ifin von Neumann algebra.  相似文献

Some characterizations of fuzzy prime Boolean filters of IMT L-algebras are given. The lattice operations and the order-reversing involution on the set PB(M) of all fuzzy prime Boolean filters of IMT L-algebras are defined. It is showed that the set PB(M) endowed with these operations is a complete quasi-Boolean algebra (a distributive complete lattice with an order-reversing involution). It is derived that the algebra M=F, which is the set of all cosets of F, is isomorphic to the Boolean algebra {0; 1} if F is a fuzzy prime Boolean filter. By introducing an adjoint pair on PB(M), it is proved that the set PB(M) is also a residuated lattice.  相似文献

A Lie coalgebra is a coalgebra whose comultiplication Δ : MM ? M satisfies the Lie conditions. Just as any algebra A whose multiplication ? : A ? AA is associative gives rise to an associated Lie algebra L(A), so any coalgebra C whose comultiplication Δ : CC ? C is associative gives rise to an associated Lie coalgebra Lc(C). The assignment C ? Lc(C) is functorial. A universal coenveloping coalgebra Uc(M) is defined for any Lie Lie coalgebra M by asking for a right adjoint Uc to Lc. This is analogous to defining a universal enveloping algebra U(L) for any Lie algebra L by asking for a left adjoint U to the functor L. In the case of Lie algebras, the unit (i.e., front adjunction) 1 → L o U of the adjoint functor pair U ? L is always injective. This follows from the Poincaré-Birkhoff-Witt theorem, and is equivalent to it in characteristic zero (x = 0). It is, therefore, natural to inquire about the counit (i.e., back adjunction) Lc o Uc → 1 of the adjoint functor pair Lc ? Uc.Theorem. For any Lie coalgebra M, the natural mapLc(UcM) → M is surjective if and only if M is locally finite, (i.e., each element of M lies in a finite dimensional sub Lie coalgebra of M).An example is given of a non locally finite Lie coalgebra. The existence of such an example is surprising since any coalgebra C whose diagonal Δ is associative is necessarily locally finite by a result of that theory. The present paper concludes with a development of an analog of the Poincaré-Birkhoff-Witt theorem for Lie algebras which we choose to call the Dual Poincaré-Birkhoff-Witt Theorem and abbreviate by “The Dual PBWθ.” The constraints of the present paper, however, allow only a sketch of this theorem. A complete proof will appear in a subsequent paper. The reader may, however, consult [12], in the meantime, for details. The Dual PBWθ shows for any locally finite Lie coalgebra M the existence (in χ = 0) of a natural isomorphism of the graded Hopf algebras 0E(UcM) and 0E(ScM) associated to UcM and to ScM = Uc(TrivM) when Uc(M) and Sc(M) are given the Lie filtrations. [Just as Uc(M) is the analog of the enveloping algebra U(L) of a Lie algebra L, so Sc(V) is the analog of the symmetric algebra S(V) on a vector space V. Triv(M) denotes the trivial Lie coalgebra structure on the underlying vector space of M obtained by taking the comultiplication to be the zero map.]  相似文献

Let be a ruled Fano 3-fold. The goal of this paper is to compute the dimension, prove the irreducibility and smoothness and describe the structure of the moduli space M L (2;c 1,c 2) of L-stable, rank 2 vector bundles E on X with certain Chern classes and for a suitable polarization L closely related to c 2. More precisely, we will cover the study of some moduli spaces M L (2;c 1,c 2) such that the generic point is given as a non-trivial extension of line bundles. This work nicely reflects the general philosophy that moduli spaces inherits a lot of geometrical properties of the underlying variety. The complete Boolean homomorphisms from the category algebra C(X) of a complete matrix space X to the category algebra C(Y) of a Baire topological space Y are characterized as those σ-homomorphisms which are induced by continuous maps from dense G8-subsets of Y into X. This result is used to deduce a series of related results in topology and measure theory (some of which are well-known). Finally a similar result for the complete Boolean homomorphisms from the category algebra C(X) of a compact Hausdorff space X tothe category algebra C(Y) of a Baire topological space Y is proved.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

For a directly finite exchange ring R which satisfies general comparability, we construct all extreme points of the state space S(V(R),? R?), where V(R) denotes the monoid of all isomorphic classes of finitely generated projective R-modules. From this, we further prove that S((K 0(R),[R])) is affinely homeomorphic to M 1 +(BS(R)), where BS(R) denotes the spectrum of the Boolean algebra B(R) of all central idempotents in R, and M + 1(BS(R)) the set of all probability measures on BS(R). These generalize the corresponding results on regular rings. Particularly, all of our results hold for exchange rings with all the idempotents central.  相似文献

The linear discrepancy of a poset P is the least k such that there is a linear extension L of P such that if x and y are incomparable in P, then |h L (x) − h L (y)| ≤ k, where h L (x) is the height of x in L. Tannenbaum, Trenk, and Fishburn characterized the posets of linear discrepancy 1 as the semiorders of width 2 and posed the problem for characterizing the posets of linear discrepancy 2. Howard et al. (Order 24:139–153, 2007) showed that this problem is equivalent to finding all posets of linear discrepancy 3 such that the removal of any point reduces the linear discrepancy. In this paper we determine all of these minimal posets of linear discrepancy 3 that have width 2. We do so by showing that, when removing a specific maximal point in a minimal linear discrepancy 3 poset, there is a unique linear extension that witnesses linear discrepancy 2. We study the boundedness problem for maximal operators M \mathcal{M} associated with averages along smooth hypersurfaces S of finite type in 3-dimensional Euclidean space. For p > 2, we prove that if no affine tangent plane to S passes through the origin and S is analytic, then the associated maximal operator is bounded on Lp( \mathbbR3 ) {L^p}\left( {{\mathbb{R}^3}} \right) if and only if p > h(S), where h(S) denotes the so-called height of the surface S (defined in terms of certain Newton diagrams). For non-analytic S we obtain the same statement with the exception of the exponent p = h(S). Our notion of height h(S) is closely related to A. N. Varchenko’s notion of height h(ϕ) for functions ϕ such that S can be locally represented as the graph of ϕ after a rotation of coordinates.  相似文献

Let M be a smooth compact surface, orientable or not, with boundary or without it, P either the real line 1 or the circle S 1, and D(M) the group of diffeomorphisms of M acting on C^∞(M, P) by the rule hf = fh −1 for hD(M) and fC^∞ (M,P). Let f: MP be an arbitrary Morse mapping, Σ f the set of critical points of f, D(M f ) the subgroup of D(M) preserving Σ f , and S(f), S (f f ), O(f), and O(f f ) the stabilizers and the orbits of f with respect to D(M) and D(M f ). In fact S(f) = S(f f ).In this paper we calculate the homotopy types of S(f), O(f) and O(f f ). It is proved that except for few cases the connected components of S(f) and O(f f ) are contractible, π k O(f) = π k M for k ≥ 3, π2 O(f) = 0, and π1 O(f) is an extension of π1 D(M) ⊕ Z k (for some k ≥ 0) with a (finite) subgroup of the group of automorphisms of the Kronrod-Reeb graph of f.We also generalize the methods of F. Sergeraert to give conditions for a finite codimension orbit of a tame smooth action of a tame Lie group on a tame Fréchet manifold to be a tame Fréchet manifold itself. All classes of integrable cocycles in H2(L,L) are obtained for Lie algebra of type G2 over an algebraically closed field of characteristic 2. It is proved that there exist only two orbits of classes of integrable cocycles with respect to automorphism group. The global deformation is shown to exist for any nontrivial class of integrable cocycles. These deformations are isomorphic to one of the two algebras of Cartan type, one of which being S(3:1,ω) while the other H(4:1,ω).  相似文献

Abstract

Let X be a topological space and Cc(X) be the functionally countable subalgbera of C(X). We call X to be a countably uniform closed-space, briefly, a CU C-space, if Cc(X) is closed under uniform convergence. We investigate that countably uniform closedness need not closed under finite intersection and infinite product. It is shown that if X is a countable union of quasi-components, then X is a CU C-space. We characterize Cc-embedding and also -embedding in CU C-spaces. A subset S of X is called Zc-embedded, if each ZZc(S) is the restriction of a zero-set of Zc(X). It is observed that in a zero-dimensional CU C-space, each Lindelöf subspae is Zc-embedded. Moreover, it is shown that in CU C-spaces, each Lindelöf subspace is Cc-embedded if and only if it is c-completely separated from each zero-set, which is disjoint from it. Also in latter spaces, it is observed that for each S ? X, Cc-embedding, -embedding and Zc-embedding coincide, when S belongs to Zc(X) or it is a c-pseudocompact space. Finally, when X is both a CU C-space and a CP-space, then each Zc-embedded subspace is Cc-embedded (-embedded) in X.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to extend the classical maximal convergence theory of Bernstein and Walsh for holomorphic functions in the complex plane to real analytic functions in ℝ N . In particular, we investigate the polynomial approximation behavior for functions F:L→ℂ, L={(Re z,Im z):zK}, of the structure F=g[`(h)]F=g\overline{h}, where g and h are holomorphic in a neighborhood of a compact set K⊂ℂ N . To this end the maximal convergence number ρ(S c ,f) for continuous functions f defined on a compact set S c ⊂ℂ N is connected to a maximal convergence number ρ(S r ,F) for continuous functions F defined on a compact set S r ⊂ℝ N . We prove that ρ(L,F)=min {ρ(K,h)),ρ(K,g)} for functions F=g[`(h)]F=g\overline{h} if K is either a closed Euclidean ball or a closed polydisc. Furthermore, we show that min {ρ(K,h)),ρ(K,g)}≤ρ(L,F) if K is regular in the sense of pluripotential theory and equality does not hold in general. Our results are based on the theory of the pluricomplex Green’s function with pole at infinity and Lundin’s formula for Siciak’s extremal function Φ. A properly chosen transformation of Joukowski type plays an important role.  相似文献

In anydense posetP (and in any Boolean lattice in particular) every maximal antichainS may be partitioned into disjoint subsetsS 1 andS 2, such that the union of the downset ofS 1 with the upset ofS 2 yields the entire poset:D(S 1) U (S 2) =P.
