Abstract

Prior to investigating on sequence spaces and their convergence, we study the notion of statistical convergence of difference sequences of fractional order α ∈ ?. As generalizations of previous works, this study includes several special cases under different limiting conditions of α, such as the notion of statistical convergence of difference sequences of zeroth and mth (integer) order. In fact, we study certain new results on statistical convergence via the difference operator Δα and interpret them to those of previous works. Also, by using the convergence of Δα-summable sequences which is stronger than statistical convergence of difference sequences, we apply classical Bernstein operator and a generalized form of Meyer-Konig and Zeller operator to construct an example in support of our result. Also, we study the rates of Δα-statistical convergence of positive linear operators.  相似文献

A splitting method for two monotone operators A and B is an algorithm that attempts to converge to a zero of the sum A + B by solving a sequence of subproblems, each of which involves only the operator A, or only the operator B. Prior algorithms of this type can all in essence be categorized into three main classes, the Douglas/Peaceman-Rachford class, the forward-backward class, and the little-used double-backward class. Through a certain “extended” solution set in a product space, we construct a fundamentally new class of splitting methods for pairs of general maximal monotone operators in Hilbert space. Our algorithms are essentially standard projection methods, using splitting decomposition to construct separators. We prove convergence through Fejér monotonicity techniques, but showing Fejér convergence of a different sequence to a different set than in earlier splitting methods. Our projective algorithms converge under more general conditions than prior splitting methods, allowing the proximal parameter to vary from iteration to iteration, and even from operator to operator, while retaining convergence for essentially arbitrary pairs of operators. The new projective splitting class also contains noteworthy preexisting methods either as conventional special cases or excluded boundary cases. The purpose in this paper is to prove a theorem of strong convergence to a common solution for a finite family of accretive operators in a strictly convex Banach space by means of a new iterative algorithm, which is a generalization and extension of the results of Kim and Xu [T.H. Kim, H.K. Xu, Strong convergence of modified Mann iterations, Nonlinear Anal. 61 (2005) 51–60], and Zegeye and Shahzad [H. Zegeye, N. Shahzad, Strong convergence theorems for a common zero of a finite family of m-accretive mappings, Nonlinear Anal. 66 (2007) 1161–1169]. Further using the result, the theorem of strong convergence to a common fixed point is discussed for a finite family of pseudocontractive mappings under certain conditions.  相似文献

Abstract

This note contains an order-theoretical approach to the theory of stochastic operators. Our main result is a necessary condition for the existence of n-th roots of an ergodic and conservative operator, which generalizes known results for measure-preserving operators and operators on L p-type spaces.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce general iterative methods for finding zeros of a maximal monotone operator in a Hilbert space which unify two previously studied iterative methods: relaxed proximal point algorithm [H.K. Xu, Iterative algorithms for nonlinear operators, J. London Math Soc. 66 (2002) 240–256] and inexact hybrid extragradient proximal point algorithm [R.S. Burachik, S. Scheimberg, B.F. Svaiter, Robustness of the hybrid extragradient proximal-point algorithm, J. Optim. Theory Appl. 111 (2001) 117–136]. The paper establishes both weak convergence and strong convergence of the methods under suitable assumptions on the algorithm parameters.  相似文献

Abstract

Let X be a real Banach space and X? be its dual. Let F: X → X? and K: X? → X be Lipschitz monotone mappings. In this paper an explicit iterative scheme is constructed for approximating solutions of the Hammerstein type equation, 0 = u + KF u, when they exist. Strong convergence of the scheme is obtained under appropriate conditions. Our results improve and unify many of the results in the literature.  相似文献

In this paper, we first prove a strong convergence theorem for resolvents of accretive operators in a Banach space by the viscosity approximation method, which is a generalization of the results of Reich [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 75 (1980), 287–292], and Takahashi and Ueda [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 104 (1984), 546–553]. Further using this result, we consider the proximal point algorithm in a Banach space by the viscosity approximation method, and obtain a strong convergence theorem which is a generalization of the result of Kamimura and Takahashi [Set-Valued Anal. 8 (2000), 361–374]. Abstract

Let X and Y be normed spaces and T: D(T) ? XY a linear operator. Following R.D. Neidingcr [N1] we recall the Davis, Figiel, Johnson, Pelczynski factorization of T corresponding to a parameter p (1 ≤ p ≤ ∞) and apply the corresponding factorization result in [N1] to unbounded thin operators. Properties equivalent to ubiquitous thinness arc derived. Defining an operator T to be cothin if its adjoint is thin, a dual factorization result for cothin operators is obtained, where for each 1 < p < ∞, the intermediate space in the factorization is cohereditarily lp. This result is shown to hold more generally for the cases when T is either partially continuous or closable; in particular, such operators are strictly cosingular. A condition for a closable weakly compact operator to be strictly cosingular follows as a corollary.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to introduce a general iterative algorithm by viscosity method to approximate a common point of a finite family of m-accretive mappings in a reflexive Banach space which has a weakly continuous duality mapping. We obtain strong convergence theorems under some mild conditions imposed on parameters.   相似文献

Let E be a 2-uniformly real Banach space and F,K:EE be nonlinear-bounded accretive operators. Assume that the Hammerstein equation u+KFu=0 has a solution. A new explicit iteration sequence is introduced and strong convergence of the sequence to a solution of the Hammerstein equation is proved. The operators F and K are not required to satisfy the so-called range condition. No invertibility assumption is imposed on the operator K and F is not restricted to be an angle-bounded (necessarily linear) operator.  相似文献

Our purpose in this paper is to introduce an iterative scheme for solving multiple-set split feasiblity problems in p-uniformly convex Banach spaces which are also uniformly smooth using Bregman distance techniques. We further obtain a strong convergence result for approximating solutions of multiple-set split feasiblity problems in the framework of p-uniformly convex Banach spaces which are also uniformly smooth.  相似文献

Abstract

Since 1970 a number of operational quantities, characteristic of either the semi-Fredholm operators or of some “ideal” of compact-like operators, have been introduced in the theory of bounded operators between Banach spaces and applied successfully to for example perturbation theory. More recently such quantities have been introduced even in the abstract setting of Fredholm theory in a von Neumann algebra relative to some closed two-sided ideal. We show that in this fairly general setting there is only one “reasonable” set of such quantities—a result which in its present form is to the best of our knowledge new even in the case of B(H), the algebra of all bounded operators on a Hilbert space H. We accomplish this by first of all introducing the concept of a (reduced) minimum modulus in the setting of C*-algebras and developing the relevant techniques. In the process we generalise a result of Nikaido [N].  相似文献

Several strong convergence results involving two distinct four parameter proximal point algorithms are proved under different sets of assumptions on these parameters and the general condition that the error sequence converges to zero in norm. Thus our results address the two important problems related to the proximal point algorithm — one being that of strong convergence (instead of weak convergence) and the other one being that of acceptable errors. One of the algorithms discussed was introduced by Yao and Noor (2008) [7] while the other one is new and it is a generalization of the regularization method initiated by Lehdili and Moudafi (1996) [9] and later developed by Xu (2006) [8]. The new algorithm is also ideal for estimating the convergence rate of a sequence that approximates minimum values of certain functionals. Although these algorithms are distinct, it turns out that for a particular case, they are equivalent. The results of this paper extend and generalize several existing ones in the literature.  相似文献

It is a known fact that the method of alternating projections introduced long ago by von Neumann fails to converge strongly for two arbitrary nonempty, closed and convex subsets of a real Hilbert space. In this paper, a new iterative process for finding common zeros of two maximal monotone operators is introduced and strong convergence results associated with it are proved. If the two operators are subdifferentials of indicator functions, this new algorithm coincides with the old method of alternating projections. Several other important algorithms, such as the contraction proximal point algorithm, occur as special cases of our algorithm. Hence our main results generalize and unify many results that occur in the literature.  相似文献

Abstract

This is a report on a number of recent results on composition operators which map, for 0 < p ? q ∞, the Hardy space Hp (on the unit disk in the complex plane) into H q. Attention is focused on questions of boundedness (existence), compactness, order boundedness and, in connection with the latter, on relating the absolutely summing and nuclearity character as well as special factorization properties of the operator to function theoretic properties of the defining symbol. Moreover, tools are provided to show that certain classes of operators can well be distinguished already on the level of composition operators.  相似文献

In this paper we propose a new modified viscosity approximation method for approximating common fixed points for a countable family of nonexpansive mappings in a Banach space. We prove strong convergence theorems for a countable family nonexpansive mappings in a reflexive Banach space with uniformly Gateaux differentiable norm under some control conditions. These results improve and extend the results of Jong Soo Jung [J.S. Jung, Convergence on composite iterative schemes for nonexpansive mappings in Banach spaces, Fixed Point Theory and Appl. 2008 (2008) 14 pp., Article ID 167535]. Further, we apply our result to the problem of finding a zero of an accretive operator and extend the results of Kim and Xu [T.H. Kim, H.K. Xu, Strong convergence of modified Mann iterations, Nonlinear Anal. 61 (2005) 51-60], Ceng, et al. [L.-C. Ceng, A.R. Khan, Q.H. Let (E, ‖ ? ‖) be a smooth Banach space over the real field and A a nonempty closed bounded convex subset of E. Suppose T : AA is a uniformly continuous strictly pseudocontractive selfmapping of A. Then, if [math001]satisfies [math001]the iteration process [math001] and [math001] converges strongly to the unique fixed point x of T. This is an improvement of a result of C.E. Chidume who established strong convergence of (x n to x in case E is L p or l p with [math001] making essential use of the inepuality [math001] which is kown to hold in these spaces for all x and y  相似文献

In this paper, we study a strong convergence for monotone operators. We first introduce the hybrid type algorithm for monotone operators. Next, we obtain a strong convergence theorem (Theorem 3.3) for finding a zero point of an inverse-strongly monotone operator in a Banach space. Finally, we apply our convergence theorem to the problem of finding a minimizer of a convex function.  相似文献

Very recently, Yao, Chen and Yao [20] proposed a hybrid viscosity approximation method, which combines the viscosity approximation method and the Mann iteration method. Under the convergence of one parameter sequence to zero, they derived a strong convergence theorem in a uniformly smooth Banach space. In this paper, under the convergence of no parameter sequence to zero, we prove the strong convergence of the sequence generated by their method to a fixed point of a nonexpansive mapping, which solves a variational inequality. An appropriate example such that all conditions of this result are satisfied and their condition βn→0 is not satisfied is provided. Furthermore, we also give a weak convergence theorem for their method involving a nonexpansive mapping in a Hilbert space.  相似文献

In the present paper we prove a Korovkin type approximation theorem for a sequence of positive linear operators acting from a weighted space Cρ1 into a weighted space Bρ2 with the use of a matrix summability method which includes both convergence and almost convergence. We also study the rates of convergence of these operators.  相似文献
