This paper deals with exact solutions for some oscillating motions of a generalized Oldroyd-B fluid. The fractional calculus approach is used in the constitutive relationship of fluid model. Analytical expressions for the velocity field and the corresponding shear stress for flows due to oscillations of an infinite flat plate as well as those induced by an oscillating pressure gradient are determined using Fourier sine and Laplace transforms. The obtained solutions are presented under integral and series forms in terms of the Mittag–Leffler functions. For α = β = 1, our solutions tend to the similar solutions for ordinary Oldroyd-B fluid. A comparison between generalized and ordinary Oldroyd-B fluids is shown by means of graphical illustrations.  相似文献

Abstract

In this paper we determine the velocity field and the shear stress corresponding to the unsteady flow of a Maxwell fluid with fractional derivatives driven by an infinite circular cylinder that slides along its axes with a velocity Ata. The general solutions, obtained by means of integral transforms, satisfy all imposed initial and boundary conditions. They can be easily particularized to give the similar solutions for ordinary Maxwell and Newtonian fluids. Finally, the influence of the parameters α and β on the fluid motion as well as a comparison between models is underlined by graphical illustrations.  相似文献

The paper concerns existence of weak solutions to the equations describing a motion of some non‐Newtonian fluids with non‐standard growth conditions of the Cauchy stress tensor. Motivated by the fluids of strongly inhomogeneous behavior and having the property of rapid shear thickening, we observe that the Lp framework is not suitable to capture the described situation. We describe the growth conditions with the help of general x‐dependent convex function. This formulation yields the existence of solutions in generalized Orlicz spaces. As examples of motivation for considering non‐Newtonian fluids in such spaces, we recall the electrorheological fluids, magnetorheological fluids, and shear thickening fluids. The existence of solutions is established by the generalization of the classical Minty method to non‐reflexive spaces. The result holds under the assumption that the lowest growth of the Cauchy stress is greater than the critical exponent q=(3d+ 2)/(d+ 2), where d is for space dimension. The restriction on the exponent q is forced by the convective term. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Abstract

In this paper, the steady boundary layer flow of a non-Newtonian fluid over a nonlinear stretching sheet is investigated. The Sisko fluid model, which is combination of power-law and Newtonian fluids in which the fluid may exhibit shear thinning/thickening behaviors, is considered. The boundary layer equations are derived for the two-dimensional flow of an incompressible Sisko fluid. Similarity transformations are used to reduce the governing nonlinear equations and then solved analytically using the homotopy analysis method. In addition, closed form exact analytical solutions are provided for n = 0 and n = 1. Effects of the pertinent parameters on the boundary layer flow are shown and solutions are contrasted with the power-law fluid solutions.  相似文献

The velocity field and the associated shear stress corresponding to the torsional oscillatory flow of a generalized Maxwell fluid, between two infinite coaxial circular cylinders, are determined by means of the Laplace and Hankel transforms. Initially, the fluid and cylinders are at rest and after some time both cylinders suddenly begin to oscillate around their common axis with different angular frequencies of their velocities. The solutions that have been obtained are presented under integral and series forms in terms of generalized G and R functions. Moreover, these solutions satisfy the governing differential equation and all imposed initial and boundary conditions. The respective solutions for the motion between the cylinders, when one of them is at rest, can be obtained from our general solutions. Furthermore, the corresponding solutions for the similar flow of ordinary Maxwell fluid are also obtained as limiting cases of our general solutions. At the end, flows corresponding to the ordinary Maxwell and generalized Maxwell fluids are shown and compared graphically by plotting velocity profiles at different values of time and some important results are remarked.  相似文献

Considering a fractional derivative model the unsteady flow of an Oldroyd-B fluid between two infinite coaxial circular cylinders is studied by using finite Hankel and Laplace transforms. The motion is produced by the inner cylinder which is subject to a time dependent longitudinal shear stress at time t = 0+. The solution obtained under series form in terms of generalized G and R functions, satisfy all imposed initial and boundary conditions. The corresponding solutions for ordinary Oldroyd-B, generalized and ordinary Maxwell, and Newtonian fluids are obtained as limiting cases of our general solutions. The influence of pertinent parameters on the fluid motion as well as a comparison between models is illustrated graphically.  相似文献

Unsteady flow of an incompressible generalized Maxwell fluid between two coaxial circular cylinders is studied by means of the Laplace and finite Hankel transforms. The motion of the fluid is produced by the rotation of cylinders around their common axis. The solutions that have been obtained, written in integral and series form in terms of the generalized Ga,b,c(·, t)-functions, are presented as a sum of the Newtonian solutions and the corresponding non-Newtonian contributions. They satisfy all imposed initial and boundary conditions and for λ  0 reduce to the solutions corresponding to the Newtonian fluids performing the same solution. Furthermore, the corresponding solutions for ordinary Maxwell fluids are also obtained for β = 1. Finally, in order to reveal some relevant physical aspects of the obtained results, the diagrams of the velocity field ω(r, t) have been depicted against r and t for different values of the material and fractional parameters.  相似文献

We show the existence of weak solutions to the system describing the motion of incompressible, non-homogeneous generalized Newtonian fluids if the extra stress tensor S(ρ, D) possesses p-structure with and variable viscosity. The limiting process in the equation of motion is justified by a variational argument, which is new in this context.  相似文献

The unsteady flow of a viscoelastic fluid with the fractional Maxwell model, induced by a constantly accelerating plate between two side walls perpendicular to the plate, is investigated by means of the integral transforms. Exact solutions for the velocity field are presented under integral and series forms in terms of the derivatives of generalized Mittag–Leffler functions. The corresponding solutions for Maxwell fluids are obtained as limiting cases for β → 1. In the absence of the side walls, all solutions that have been determined reduce to those corresponding to the motion over an infinite plate.   相似文献

The velocity field corresponding to the Rayleigh–Stokes problem for an edge, in an incompressible generalized Oldroyd-B fluid has been established by means of the double Fourier sine and Laplace transforms. The fractional calculus approach is used in the constitutive relationship of the fluid model. The obtained solution, written in terms of the generalized G-functions, is presented as a sum of the Newtonian solution and the corresponding non-Newtonian contribution. The solution for generalized Maxwell fluids, as well as those for ordinary Maxwell and Oldroyd-B fluids, performing the same motion, is obtained as a limiting case of the present solution. This solution can be also specialized to give the similar solution for generalized second grade fluids. However, for simplicity, a new and simpler exact solution is established for these fluids. For β → 1, this last solution reduces to a previous solution obtained by a different technique.   相似文献

ABSTRACT

Local sensitivity information is obtained for KKT points of parametric NLPs that may exhibit active set changes under parametric perturbations; under appropriate regularity conditions, computationally relevant generalized derivatives of primal and dual variable solutions of parametric NLPs are calculated. Ralph and Dempe obtained directional derivatives of solutions of parametric NLPs exhibiting active set changes from the unique solution of an auxiliary quadratic program. This article uses lexicographic directional derivatives, a newly developed tool in nonsmooth analysis, to generalize the classical NLP sensitivity analysis theory of Ralph and Dempe. By viewing said auxiliary quadratic program as a parametric NLP, the results of Ralph and Dempe are applied to furnish a sequence of coupled QPs, whose unique solutions yield generalized derivative information for the NLP. A practically implementable algorithm is provided. The theory developed here is motivated by widespread applications of nonlinear programming sensitivity analysis, such as in dynamic control and optimization problems.  相似文献

The velocity field and the associated shear stresses corresponding to the unsteady flow of generalized Maxwell fluid on oscillating rectangular duct have been determined by means of double finite Fourier sine and Laplace transforms. These solutions are also presented as a sum of the steady-state and transient solutions. The solutions corresponding to Maxwell fluids, performing the same motion, appear as limiting cases of the solutions obtained here. In the absence of w, namely the frequency, and making α → 1, all solutions that have been determined reduce to those corresponding to the Rayleigh Stokes problem on oscillating rectangular duct for Maxwell fluids. Finally, some graphical representations confirm the above assertions.  相似文献

In this paper, generalized mth-order contingent epiderivative and generalized mth-order epiderivative of set-valued maps are introduced, respectively. By virtue of the generalized mth-order epiderivatives, generalized necessary and sufficient optimality conditions are obtained for Henig efficient solutions to a set-valued optimization problem whose constraint set is determined by a fixed set. Generalized Kuhn–Tucker type necessary and sufficient optimality conditions are also obtained for Henig efficient solutions to a set-valued optimization problem whose constraint set is determined by a set-valued map.  相似文献

The velocity field and the adequate shear stress corresponding to the flow of a Maxwell fluid with fractional derivative model, between two infinite coaxial cylinders, are determined by means of the Laplace and finite Hankel transforms. They can be easy particularizes to give the similar solutions for ordinary Maxwell and Newtonian fluids. A logical formula F(X, P) can be treated as an equation to be satisfied by the solutions X 0(P) for the predicates X with the expressions P as parameters (if there are such solutions). J. McCarthy considered the parametrization of the solutions, gave the general solution in the case of propositional logic, and stated the problem for other logics. We find the general solution for formulas in the first-order language with monadic predicates and equality. The solutions are obtained via quantifier elimination and parametrized by ϵ-terms. Unsteady one-dimensional flows of two incompressible and immiscible generalized second grade fluids in a rectangular channel are studied. A constant pressure gradient acts in the flow direction, while the channel walls have oscillating translational motions in their planes. The generalization considered in this paper consists into a mathematical model based on constitutive equations of second grade fluid with Caputo time-fractional derivative in which the history of the shear stress influences the velocity gradient. The velocity and shear stress fields in the Laplace transform domain are obtained. Numerical solutions for the real velocity and shear stress have been found by employing the Stehfest numerical algorithm for the inverse Laplace transform. The influence of the fractional parameters on the velocity and shear stress has been studied by numerical simulations and graphical illustrations. It is found that the memory effects are significant only for small values of the time t.  相似文献

This paper deals with the unsteady helical flows of a generalized Oldroyd-B fluid between two infinite coaxial cylinders and within an infinite cylinder. The fractional calculus approach is used in the constitutive relationship of fluid model. Exact analytical solutions are obtained with the help of integral transforms (Laplace transform, Weber transform and finite Hankel transform). The corresponding solutions for generalized second grade and Maxwell fluids as well as those for the Newtonian and ordinary Oldroyd-B fluids are also given in limiting cases. Finally, the influence of model parameters on the velocity field is also analyzed by graphical illustrations.  相似文献

Abstract  We consider a fully developed time-periodic pipe flow (Poiseuille flow) for some classes of fluids (micropolar fluids, mixtures of fluids). Such physical cases lead to a parabolic system in which the pressure gradient Γ is a time-periodic function with either only one non vanishing component or the components proportional to a single time-periodic function Γ. For such situations we generalize the results of [7] concerning the Newtonian case.
