The entanglement of a two-level atom and its radiation field near the edge of a photonic band gap is studied by using the quantum entropy. Unlike the free space case, there is a steady-state entanglement between the atom and its spontaneous emission field even when the atomic transition frequency lies outside the band gap. Moreover, the degree of entanglement, which is due to the formation of atom–photon bound dressed state, depends on the detuning of the atomic transition frequency from the photonic band edge and can be controlled by a controllable photonic band gap crystal.  相似文献

The upper state population evolution and the spontaneous emission spectrum of a two-level atom in a non-resonant damped cavity are investigated by using the resolvent operator. The analytic expressions of the spectrum and the upper state population with strong and intermediate coupling are obtained. The influence of coupling intensity and detuning on atomic spectrum is discussed. We find that the detuning affects strongly the shape of spectra.  相似文献

In the last few years, hybrid systems consisting of punctual sources and metallic nanostructures have been assembled and studied. Furthermore, the radiative coupling between the two counterparts has become a crucial aspect to be explored in nanophotonics and plasmonics. In this paper a numerical framework based on the Discrete Dipole Approximation is presented as a simple computational scheme to analyze the decay dynamics of an emitter when it is located in the near proximities of metallic nanoparticles. This approach allows to go beyond the analytically solved cases and to predict the optical response of more complex shaped nanoparticles. Here the excitation of dipole and higher-order modes is studied as a function of the applied radiation with a particular attention paid to the changes induced in the response by approaching the source to the metal. Numerical results, obtained for Ag spheroids and conically shaped nanoparticles, are explained by analyzing the charge density induced on the surface of the nanoparticles, this allowing to distinguish dark from radiative modes in a straightforward way.  相似文献

研究了双能带三维光子晶体中二能级原子自发辐射的性质.由于双能带各向异性色散关系的影响,辐射场中的局域场和传输场不能共存,导致原子上能级占据数不再具有准周期性振荡的性质,而是随时间趋于常数,或者随时间按幂函数形式衰减,或者随时间按指数形式衰减.这些性质不仅与原子上能级和能带带边的相对位置有关,而且与光子晶体上、下能带之间的能隙宽度有关.这些性质也有别于单能带各向同性光子晶体中二能级原子自发辐射的性质. 关键词: 光子晶体 二能级原子 自发辐射  相似文献

We investigate some aspects of a generalized JC-model which include arbitrary forms of non-linearities of both the field and the intensity-dependent atom-field coupling. We obtain an exactly analytic solution of the model, by means of which we identify and numerically demonstrate the region of parameters where significantly large entanglement can be obtained.  相似文献

The resonance fluorescence spectrum of an atom located in the near field of a plasmonic nanoparticle is considered. It is shown that, as the atom gets close to the nanoparticle, the high-frequency peak of the Mollow triplet disappears and the spectrum has a Fano resonance shape. The low-frequency peak also disappears as the distance between the atom and the nanoparticle decreases further. For small distances, when the atom interacts with the nanoparticle much more strongly than with the external field, the spectrum represents a Lorentzian line whose width is proportional to the square of the atom-nanoparticle coupling constant.  相似文献

We investigate the spontaneous emission spectra of a four-level tripod-type atom embedded in a photonic crystal and driven by two coherent fields. It is found that due to the quantum interference caused by two driving fields, the spontaneous emission spectra have different features from the case of only one driving field. The spectra are sensitively dependent on the detuning of the driving fields. A dark line occurs for some particular initial states. By appropriately adjusting the external driving fields, the spectral-line can be narrowed, enhanced or suppressed.  相似文献

研究了动态各向同性光子晶体中二能级原子自发辐射的性质,主要讨论了光子晶体能带带边频率随时间作阶跃调制和三角函数周期调制两种情况下,原子上能级占据数随时间的演化特性.当光子晶体能带带边频率随时间作阶跃调制时,原子上能级占据数随时间的演化不仅和上能级与能带带边的相对位置δ有关,更依赖于阶跃调制发生的时刻.调制发生时刻不同,调制后原子上能级占据数随时间的演化也不同.当光子晶体能带带边频率随时间作三角函数周期调制时,二能级原子上能级占据数随时间作总体衰减的准周期振荡.通过选择调制频率和调制初相位可调控准周期振荡的频率、峰值与谷值的大小以及占据数的总体衰减速度等.  相似文献

We propose a method to entangle two vibrating microsize mirrors (i.e., mechanical oscillators) in a cavity optomechanical system. In this scheme, we discuss both the resonant and large-detuning conditions, and show that the entanglement of two mechanical oscillators can be achieved with the assistance of a two-level atom and cavity-radiation pressure. In the resonant case, the operation time is relatively short, which is desirable to minimize the effects of decoherence. While in the large-detuning case, the cavity is only virtually excited during the interaction. Therefore, the decay of the cavity is effectively suppressed, which makes the efficient decoherence time of the cavity to be greatly prolonged. Thus, we observe that this virtual-photon process of microscopic objects may induce the entanglement of macroscopic objects. Moreover, in both cases, the generation of entanglement is deterministic and no measurements on the atom and the cavity are required. These are experimentally important. Finally, the decoherence effect and the experimental feasibility of the proposal are briefly discussed.  相似文献

It is shown that a charged Brownian nanoparticle (or an electron) similar to a two-level atom can generate spontaneous and induced radiation upon switching on an external field. The diffusion mechanism of charging nanoparticles is examined. The radiation process is a macroscopic quantum phenomenon, which can be used in synthetic biology, medicine, and other fields of science and engineering.  相似文献

We propose a new method for reversing the quantum state of a two-level system. From solving the time-dependent Schrödinger equation numerically, we show that by applying a classical decaying oscillatory field the state in a two-level system can be completely reversed if the parameters of the field satisfy certain conditions. The transition probability from one level to the other is calculated for different parameters and its maximum value can reach unity. By using such field with specific oscillatory frequency the Rabi oscillations between two levels in the case of applying a constant field can be suppressed and a stable manipulation of the quantum state can be performed. The estimation of such manipulation by using laser pulse acting on the states of hydrogen atom shows that the population inversion higher than 0.9 may be realized in less than 2 fs.  相似文献

We study the behavior of the optical bistability (OB) and multistability (OM) in a two-level pumped-probe atomic system by means of a unidirectional ring cavity. We show that the optical bistability in a two-level atomic system can be controlled by adjusting the intensity of the pump field and the detuning between two fields. 研究了在二能级原子系统中有环境诱导的退相干的控制问题.通过对量子位系统施加适当的扰动可以减少由自发辐射引起的退相干.本文提出了一种新的基于频率位移技术和宇称反演技术的机制.这种机制可由两束均匀经典大失谐光场作用于原子来实现.通过应用这种机制,在存在自发辐射的情况下,可以有效地抑制退相干.  相似文献

Evolution of a two-level system (TLS) in a strong resonant quantum field is considered beyond the rotating wave approximation (RWA). An analytical expression for the atomic population inversion that approximates numerical results with high accuracy is deduced. It allows us to describe new qualitative peculiarities of the TLS evolution in the strong field: i) suppression of the ‘collapse-revival’ effect, and ii) change of the spectrum and form of the population oscillations.  相似文献

Taking a two-level system as an example, we show that a strong control field may enhance the efficiency of optimal Lyapunov quantum control but could decrease its control fidelity. A relationship between the strength of the control field and the control fidelity is established. An extended technique, which combines free evolution and external control, is proposed to improve the control fidelity. We analytically demonstrate that the extended technique can be used to design a control law for steering a two-level system exactly to one predetermined eigenstate of the free Hamiltonian. In such a way, the convergence of the extended optimal Lyapunov quantum control can be guaranteed.  相似文献
