A variety of Ag nanoparticles/oxide mesoporous films with templated silica, titania, and zirconia was synthesized by sol–gel method at glass, aluminum, and silicon substrates using metal alkoxides (tetraethoxysilane, titanium tetraisopropoxide, and zirconium tetrapropoxide) and AgNO3 as precursors of oxide films and Ag nanoparticles, respectively, and Pluronic P123 as a template agent. Oxide films alone and Ag/oxide composites were characterized using hexane adsorption, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman and ultraviolet (UV)/vis spectroscopies, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) methods. The distribution of Ag nanoparticles within the films, their sizes, intensity, and position of surface plasmon resonance (SPR) absorbance band at λ = 400 nm, as well as the textural and structural characteristics of whole films depend on treatment temperature, types of substrates and oxide matrices, oxide crystallization, and Ag content. Ag nanoparticles form preferably on the outer surface of the films under lower sintering temperatures if the amount of loaded silver is low. Oxide crystallization (e.g., TiO2) promotes silver embedding into the outer film layer. At higher silver content (≥10 at.%) and higher calcination temperature (873 K), silver nanoparticles could be entrapped more uniformly along the film profile because of more intensive evaporation of silver droplets from the outer surface of the films on heating.  相似文献

Cast‐hybrid films composed of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and silver nitrate were treated according to three different ways, thermal annealing, UV‐irradiation, and chemical reduction by a borohydride solution, to obtain PVA/silver nanocomposite films. The nanostructuration process was studied as a function of the treatment conditions, and discussed as a function of the mobility state of the polymer chains in the nanocomposite matrix during treatment. A homogeneous dispersion of crystalline silver nanoparticles was obtained by thermal annealing above Tg and below Tm and UV‐lamp irradiation below Tg. For these two treatments, the major processing parameters were the annealing temperature and time and the UV‐exposure time, respectively. For low‐conversion rate in Ag(0), the films evolved upon ageing at room temperature. Totally different morphology and Ag(0) conversion were achieved by chemical reduction in a borohydride solution. All the silver ions were reduced into Ag(0), and crystalline silver nanoparticles layers parallel to the film surface were observed after the treatment. This morphology was related to the high‐swollen state of the polymer matrix during treatment. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 46: 2062–2071, 2008  相似文献

In the present work, silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were in situ generated in cellulose matrix using leaf extract of Azadirachta indica as a reducing agent. The cellulose/AgNP composite films prepared were characterized by FTIR, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope, and antibacterial tests. The infrared spectra indicated the association of organic materials with silver nanoparticles to serve as capping agents. Scanning electron micrographs showed that synthesized silver nanoparticles were nearly uniform and spherical in shape with diameter in the range of 61–110?nm. XRD confirmed the formation of AgNPs and Ag–O nanoparticles. The nanocomposite films showed good antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli bacteria.  相似文献

Nanocomposite films [Ag/(PAH‐PSS)nPAH]m were fabricated on a silicon substrate using a time‐ and cost‐efficient spin‐assisted layer‐by‐layer (SA‐LbL) self‐assembly technique. A virtually monolayer‐like layer of self‐assembled silver nanoparticles was formed when deposition time increased to 30 min. It was found that polymer multilayers could effectively decrease the resistivity of silver nanoparticle monolayer, which was far higher than that of bulk silver metal; however, the resistivity of Ag/(PAH‐PSS)nPAH multilayer films increased along with the increasing of the number of polymer bilayers. XPS investigations showed that silver nanoparticles were partially oxidized, which might be the major cause of the high resistivity of silver nanoparticle monolayer. The monodisperse silver nanoparticles were synthesized by one-step reduction of silver ions in the alkaline subphase beneath vitamin E (VE) Langmuir monolayers. The monolayers and silver nanocomposite LB films were characterized by surface pressure-area (pi-A) isotherms, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-vis), selected area electron diffraction (SAED), Fourier transform infrared transmission spectroscopy (FTIR), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), respectively. The results showed that the limiting area/VE molecule on different subphases varied. The phenolic groups in the VE molecules were converted to a quinone structure, and the silver ions were mainly reduced to ellipsoidal and spherical nanoparticles. The arrangement of the nanoparticles changed from sparseness to compactness with reaction time. The electron diffraction pattern indicated that the silver nanoparticles were face-centered cubic (fcc) polycrystalline. Silver nanocomposite LB films with excellent quality could be formed on different substrates, indicating that the transfer ratio of monolayer containing silver nanoparticles is close to unity. The dynamic process of reduction of silver ions by VE LB films was also studied through monitoring the conductivity of an Ag2SO4 alkaline solution.  相似文献

A contact probe methodology, based on the voltammetry of immobilized microparticle approach, is used for characterizing silver species present in linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) films with different Ag(I)/Ag(0) ratios and silver nanoparticle features usable as food contact polymers. The films displayed characteristic voltammetric features in contact with aqueous acetate buffer, in particular signals for the stripping oxidation of nanoparticulate Ag systems. Significant differences between the studied films were also observed by means of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and detected at the nanoscopic scale using electrochemical scanning microscopy. Differences in optical and thermal properties of the studied films are associated with the presence of silver nanoparticles. The silver oxidation state as well as nanoparticle size also had influence on the oxidative resistance of the LLDPE films; indeed, films containing cationic silver showed the lowest oxidation induction time value.  相似文献

We report the deposition of Langmuir–Blodgett (LB) thin films of low-weight dispersed composite systems of ferroelectric liquid crystals (FLCs)–functionalised silver (Ag) nanoparticles. Because of their amphiphilic nature the molecules form stable Langmuir monolayers, which were transferred to silicon substrates. We noticed that absorption wave numbers are present for each bond constituting FLC–nanoparticles composite system, ensuring a complete transfer of molecules from water sub-phase. XRD showed intense peaks at 2θ = 3.2° due to the layer structure of FLC molecules. We infer from the morphology of LB films that doping of nanoparticles do not provide any hindrance to SmC* layer structure of FLC molecules. The photoluminescence study indicates blue shift in emission spectra and peak intensity increases with Ag nanoparticles concentration.  相似文献

In this study, preparation and characterization of polyacrylamide/reduced graphene oxide-Ag (PAM/rGO-Ag) nanocomposites as a new nanocomposite film were investigated. First, PAM/GO nanocomposite was synthesized by in situ polymerization strategy. Afterward, highly stable and uniformly distributed silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) have been obtained with PAM/GO nanocomposite as nanoreactors via in situ reduction of silver nitrate (AgNO3) using sodium borohydride (NaBH4) as reducing agent. In addition, the prepared PAM/rGO-Ag nanocomposite was thermally annealed in order to achieve high-performance nanocomposite film with antimicrobial activities. The prepared nanocomposite was characterized by XRD, FT-IR, SEM, TEM and TGA. The obtained results demonstrate that the silver nanoparticles were well decorated and dispersed on the graphene oxide nanosheets. In fact, the GO nanosheets and polyacrylamide chains act as a support and stabilize the Ag nanoparticles. Moreover, antimicrobial activities of the films were also examined, and the films containing well-dispersed and stabilized Ag nanoparticles showed outstanding antibacterial activity.  相似文献

In this study, the detailed characterisation of silver (Ag) nanoparticles/polymer nanocomposite chemical structure and morphology of grating has been carried out. Scanning electron microscopy measurements show spherical shape of Ag nanoparticles (40–80 nm in diameter) prepared in chloroform by reduction of silver nitrate. In the positive photoresist based on 2-diazo-2H-naphthalen-1-one (DNQ)–novolac, Ag nanoparticles were deposited from organic colloidal solution. The content of nanoparticles in the polymer matrix was varied by increasing the concentration of Ag colloidal solution. Grating was formed by contact lithography. The quantification of Ag nanoparticles and chemical analysis of Ag/DNQ-novolac-based nanocomposite was performed by means of energy dispersive X-ray analyzer and SEM/EDS. In order to study the effect of Ag nanoparticles on the DNQ-novolac-based nanocomposite structure, investigations with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy were conducted. Ag nanoparticles cause changes associated with substituent-sensitive out-of-plane C–H bending vibrations of aromatic ring. Ag/DNQ-novolac-based nanocomposite film surface morphology and grating topography imaging were performed using atomic force microscopy. Added Ag nanoparticles change the geometrical parameters of the gratings. The split of corrugations was achieved in Ag/DNQ-novolac-patterned films. Their morphology can be tailored by altering the content of Ag nanoparticles.  相似文献

Triphase polyimide nanocomposite films were fabricated using barium titanate (BaTiO3) with high dielectric constant and silver (Ag) with high conductivity as fillers. In situ method was utilized to obtain the homogeneous dispersion of nanoparticles. The in situ polymerization of polyimide precursor-poly(amic acid) was performed in the presence of BaTiO3 particles. Silver compound 1,1,1-trifluoro-2,4-pentadionato silver(I) was added into the BaTiO3 containing poly(amic acid) solution to achieve silver nanoparticles via in situ self metallization technique. The thermally induced reduction converted silver (I) to metallic silver with concomitant imidization of poly(amic acid) to polyimide. Both BaTiO3 and silver nanoparticles were uniformly dispersed in the polyimide substrate. The dependence of dielectric behavior on the BaTiO3 and Ag contents was studied. The incorporation of small amount of silver nanoparticles greatly increased dielectric constant of composite films.  相似文献

Present study used ecofriendly, cost efficient and easy method for synthesis of silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) at the room temperature by Thymus Kotschyanus extract as reducing and capping agent. Various analytical technique including UV–Vis absorption spectroscopy determined presence of Ag NPs in the solution, the functional groups of Thymus Kotschyanus extract in the reduction and capping process of Ag NPs are approved by FT‐IR, crystallinity with the fcc plane approved from the X‐ray diffraction (XRD) pattern, energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) determined existence of elements in the sample, surface morphology, diverse shapes and size of present Ag NPs were showed by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM) and high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). Beginning and end destroy temperature of present silver nanoparticles were determined by thermal gravimetric spectroscopy (TGA). In addition, antibacterial, antioxidant and cytotoxicity properties of Ag NPs were studied. Agar disk and agar well diffusion are the methods to determined antibacterial properties of synthesized Ag NPs. Also MIC (Minimum Inhibitory Concentration) and MBC (Minimum Bactericidal Concentration) were recognized by macro broth dilution assay. DPPH free radical scavenging assay was used for antioxidant property and compare to butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) as standard antioxidant that showed high antioxidant activity more than BHT. Synthesized Ag NPs have great cell viability in a dose depended manner and demonstrate that this method for synthesis silver nanoparticles provided nontoxic. The average diameter of synthesized Ag NPs was about 50–60 nm.  相似文献

ABSTRACT: BACKGROUND: The aim of this study is to investigate the functions of polymers and size of nanoparticles on the antibacterial activity of silver bionanocomposites (Ag BNCs). In this research, silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) were incorporated into biodegradable polymers that are chitosan, gelatin and both polymers via chemical reduction method in solvent in order to produce Ag BNCs. Silver nitrate and sodium borohydride were employed as a metal precursor and reducing agent respectively. On the other hand, chitosan and gelatin were added as a polymeric matrix and stabilizer. The antibacterial activity of different sizes of silver nanoparticles was investigated against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria by the disk diffusion method using Mueller-Hinton Agar. RESULTS: The properties of Ag BNCs were studied as a function of the polymer weight ratio in relation to the use of chitosan and gelatin. The morphology of the Ag BNCs films and the distribution of the Ag NPs were also characterized. The diameters of the Ag NPs were measured and their size is less than 20 nm. The antibacterial trait of silver/chitosan/gelatin bionanocomposites was investigated. The silver ions released from the Ag BNCs and their antibacterial activities were scrutinized. The antibacterial activities of the Ag BNC films were examined against Gram-negative bacteria (E. coli and P. aeruginosa) and Gram-positive (S. aureus and M. luteus) by diffusion method using Muller-Hinton agar. CONCLUSIONS: The antibacterial activity of Ag NPs with size less than 20 nm was demonstrated and showed positive results against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. The Ag NPs stabilized well in the polymers matrix.  相似文献

Highly dispersed silver nanoparticles embedded in mesoporous thin films (MTFs) have been synthesized by modification of the interior surface of mesoporous silica with ethylenediamine moieties, which provided the coordination sites for the Ag ions, and subsequent reduction under hydrogen atmosphere. TEM observations show the mesoporous parent films have effectively controlled the growth of the synthesized silver nanoparticles. The composite films had an ultrafast nonlinear response time, as fast as 200 fs, and a third-order nonlinear optical susceptibility of 0.94 × 10?10 esu, which was enhanced by the local field enhancement effect that was present when the silver nanoparticles were embedded in the surrounding dielectric matrix. The origin of the ultrafast nonlinear response and the enhanced nonlinearity of the composite films are attributed to the intraband transition of the free electrons near the Fermi surface of the incorporated silver nanoparticles.  相似文献

Antibacterial coatings based on hydrogen-bonded multilayers containing in situ synthesized Ag nanoparticles were created on planar surfaces and on magnetic colloidal particles. We report the antibacterial properties of these coatings, determined using a disk-diffusion (Kirby-Bauer) test, as a function of the film thickness and the concentration of Ag nanoparticles in the hydrogen-bonded multilayers. The zone of inhibition (ZoI) determined by the disk-diffusion test increases as the thickness of the multilayer film is increased. Results obtained for the values of the ZoI as a function of film thickness can be described adequately with a simple diffusion model (i.e., the square of the zone of inhibition (ZoI) depended linearly on the logarithm of the thickness of the silver-loaded films). This observation suggests that, in order to incrementally increase the ZoI, an exponentially increasing amount of Ag is required within the multilayers. In general, there was no statistically significant correlation between the zone of inhibition and the number of Ag loading and reduction cycles. The duration of sustained release of antibacterial Ag ions from these coatings, however, could be prolonged by increasing the total supply of zerovalent silver in the films via multiple loading and reduction cycles. These results indicate that the release of silver is controlled by an oxidation mechanism at the surface of the nanoparticles and that repeated loading and reduction of silver leads preferentially to growth of the existing silver nanoparticles in the film as opposed to nucleation of new Ag nanoparticles. We also show that magnetic microspheres coated with silver nanoparticle loaded hydrogen-bonded multilayer thin films can be used to deliver antibacterial agents to specific locations. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of nanocomposite coated microspheres was determined by the agar dilution technique: antibacterial magnetic microspheres with higher concentrations of Ag nanoparticles exhibited lower MIC values.

The evolution of spectral and luminescent properties of Ag-containing composite coatings prepared by liquid technique has been studied. Double stabilization allows forming thin oxide films containing luminescent small Agn (n?<?5) molecular clusters using the liquid technique. These clusters are non-stable intermediate products during the formation of Ag nanoparticles from the ions and neutral atoms. It was found that small luminescent Agn molecular clusters (n?<?5) formed in the solutions at the presence of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) remain in PVP/metal nitrates composite coatings and in the calcined metal oxide coatings. Spatial separation of small Ag molecular clusters in the coatings by the oxide nanoparticles of ZnO and MgO prohibits silver clusters growth and non-luminescent silver nanoparticles formation and allows saving coatings’ luminescence properties during thermal treatment.

Electrical properties of contacts formed between conducting polymers and noble metal nanoparticles have been examined using current-sensing atomic force microscopy (CS-AFM). Contacts formed between electrochemically prepared pi-conjugated polymer films such as polypyrrole (PPy), poly(3-methylthiophene) (P3MeT), as well as poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) and noble metal nanoparticles including platinum (Pt), gold (Au), and silver (Ag) have been examined. The Pt nanoparticles were electrochemically deposited on a pre-coated PPy film surface by reducing a platinum precursor (PtCl62-) at a constant potential. Both current and scanning electron microscopic images of the film showed the presence of Pt islands. The Au and Ag nanoparticles were dispersed on the P3MeT and PEDOT film surfaces simply by dipping the polymer films into colloid solutions containing Au or Ag particles for specified periods (5 to approximately 10 min). The deposition of Au or Ag particles resulted from either their physical adsorption or chemical bonding between particles and the polymer surface depending on the polymer. When compared with PPy, P3MeT and PEDOT showed a stronger binding to Au or Ag nanoparticles when dipped in their colloidal solutions for the same period. This indicates that Au and Ag particles are predominantly linked with the sulfur atoms via chemical bonding. Of the two, PEDOT was more conductive at the sites where the particles are connected to the polymer. It appears that PEDOT has better aligned sulfur atoms on the surface and is strongly bonded to Au and Ag nanoparticles due to their strong affinity to gold and silver. The current-voltage curves obtained at the metal islands demonstrate that the contacts between these metal islands and polymers are ohmic.  相似文献

Two pure silver nanoparticles (Ag210(iPrPhS)71(Ph3P)5Cl and Ag211(iPrPhS)71(Ph3P)6Cl labeled as SD/Ag210 and SD/Ag211 (SD=SunDi), were found to co‐crystallize in forming compound 1 . Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction (SCXRD) revealed that they differ by only one Ag(PPh3). Their four‐shell nanoparticles consist of three pure Ag metal shells (Ag19@Ag52@Ag45) shielded by a silver‐organic Ag89(iPrPhS)71Cl[Ag(Ph3P)]n outermost shell. The number (n) of Ag(Ph3P) is five for SD/Ag210 and six for SD/Ag211. The pseudo‐fivefold symmetric Ag nanoparticles exhibit surface plasmon absorption similar to a true metallic state but at the nanoscale. This work exemplifies the important effects of phosphine in stabilizing large silver nanoparticles; and offers a platform to investigate the origin of differences in nanoscale metal materials, even differing by only one metal atom; it also sheds light on the regioselective binding of auxiliary Ph3P on the surface of silver nanoparticles.  相似文献
