We present the first examples of nondiscrete reflexive P-groups (topological groups in which countable intersections of open sets are open) as well as of noncompact reflexive ω-bounded groups (precompact groups in which the closure of every countable set is compact). Our main result implies that every product of discrete Abelian groups equipped with the P-modified topology is reflexive. Taking uncountably many nontrivial factors, we thus answer a question posed by P. Nickolas and solve a problem raised by Ardanza-Trevijano, Chasco, Domínguez, and Tkachenko.New examples of non-reflexive P-groups are also given which are based on a further development of Leptin's technique going back to 1955.  相似文献

In the present paper we define the (pseudo) MV-algebras with n-ary operators, generalizing MV-modules and product MV-algebras. Our main results assert that there are bijective correspondences between the operators defined on a pseudo MV-algebra and the operators defined on the corresponding ℓ-group. We also provide a categorical framework and we prove the analogue of Mundici's categorical equivalence between MV-algebras and abelian ℓ-groups with strong unit. Thus, the category of pseudo MV-algebras with operators is equivalent to some category of ℓ-groups with operators.  相似文献

We develop an abstract theory of unbounded longitudinal pseudodifferential calculus on smooth groupoids (also called Lie groupoids) with compact basis. We analyze these operators as unbounded operators acting on Hilbert modules over C(G), and we show in particular that elliptic operators are regular. We construct a scale of Sobolev modules which are the abstract analogues of the ordinary Sobolev spaces, and analyze their properties. Furthermore, we show that complex powers of positive elliptic pseudodifferential operators are still pseudodifferential operators in a generalized sense.  相似文献

We study ω-regularity of the solutions of certain operators that are globally C -hypoelliptic in the N-dimensional torus. We also apply these results to prove the global ω-regularity for some classes of sublaplacians. In this way, we extend previous work in the setting of analytic and Gevrey classes. We give the necessary and sufficient condition for a bounded linear operator with property (ω) by means of the induced spectrum of topological uniform descent, and investigate the permanence of property (ω) under some commuting perturbations by power finite rank operators. We study the duality properties of two rather different classes of subgroups of direct products of discrete groups (protodiscrete groups): P-groups, i.e., topological groups such that countable intersections of its open subsets are open, and protodiscrete groups of countable pseudocharacter (topological groups in which the identity is the intersection of countably many open sets). It was recently shown by the same authors that the direct product Π of an arbitrary family of discrete Abelian groups becomes reflexive when endowed with the ω-box topology. This was the first example of a non-discrete reflexive P-group. Here we present a considerable generalization of this theorem and show that every product of feathered (equivalently, almost metrizable) Abelian groups equipped with the P-modified topology is reflexive. In particular, every locally compact Abelian group with the P-modified topology is reflexive. We also examine the reflexivity of dense subgroups of products Π with the P-modified topology and obtain the first examples of non-complete reflexive P-groups. We find as well that the better behaved class of prodiscrete groups (complete protodiscrete groups) of countable pseudocharacter contains non-reflexive members—any uncountable bounded torsion Abelian group G of cardinality ω2 supports a topology τ such that (G,τ) is a non-reflexive prodiscrete group of countable pseudocharacter.  相似文献

This paper presents three generalizations of the van der Pol equation (VDPE) using newly proposed three new generalized K-, A- and B-operators. These operators allow kernel to be arbitrary. As a result, these operators provide a greater generalization of the VDPE than the fractional integral and differential operators do. Like the original VDPE, the generalized van der Pol equations (GVDPEs) are also nonlinear equations, and in most cases, they can not be solved analytically. Numerical algorithms are presented and used to solve the GVDPEs. Results for several examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the numerical algorithms, and to examine the behavior of the GVDPEs and the limit cycles associated with them. Although the numerical algorithms have been used to solve the GVDPEs only, they can also be used to solve many other generalized oscillators and generalized differential equations. This will be considered in the future.  相似文献

We study ω-hypoelliptic differential operators of constant strength. We show that any operator with constant strength and coefficients in which is homogeneous ω-hypoelliptic is also σ-hypoelliptic for any weight function σ=O(ω). We also present a sufficient condition in order to ensure that a differential operator admits a parametrix and, as a consequence, we obtain some conditions on the weights (ω,σ) to conclude that, for any operator P(x,D) with constant strength, the σ-hypoellipticity of the frozen operator P(x0,D) implies the ω-hypoellipticity of P(x,D). This requires the use of pseudodifferential operators.  相似文献

To a domain with conical points Ω, we associate a natural C*-algebra that is motivated by the study of boundary value problems on Ω, especially using the method of layer potentials. In two dimensions, we allow Ω to be a domain with ramified cracks. We construct an explicit groupoid associated to ?Ω and use the theory of pseudodifferential operators on groupoids and its representations to obtain our layer potentials C*-algebra. We study its structure, compute the associated K-groups, and prove Fredholm conditions for the natural pseudodifferential operators affiliated to this C*-algebra.  相似文献

Two character tables of finite groups are isomorphic if there exist a bijection for the irreducible characters and a bijection for the conjugacy classes that preserve all the character values. We give necessary and sufficient conditions for two finite groups to have isomorphic character tables. In the case of finite p-groups with derived subgroup of order p, we show that the character tables can be classified by equivalence classes of certain homomorphisms of abelian p-groups.  相似文献

The class of abelian groups with partial decomposition bases was developed by the first author in order to generalize Barwise and Eklof's classification of torsion groups in L∞ω. In this article, we continue to explore algebraic characteristics of this class and establish a uniqueness theorem, extending our previous work on mixed p-local groups to the global case. It is shown that groups with partial decomposition bases are characterized in terms of Warfield groups and k-groups of Hill and Megibben. In fact, we prove that the class of groups with partial decomposition bases is identical to the class of k-groups, and, as such, closed under direct summands, and that every finitely generated subgroup of a k-group is locally nice. Also, we introduce and explore subgroups possessing a partial subbasis. As an application, it is shown that isotype k-subgroups of abelian groups are k-groups.  相似文献

We consider compatible group structures on a V-category, where V is a quantale, and we study the topological and algebraic properties of such groups. Examples of such structures are preordered groups, metric and ultrametric groups, probabilistic (ultra)metric groups. In particular, we show that, when V is a frame, symmetric V-groups satisfy very strong categorical-algebraic properties, typical of the category of groups. In particular, symmetric V-groups form a protomodular category.  相似文献

We consider here pseudo-differential operators whose symbol σ(x,ξ) is not infinitely smooth with respect to x. Decomposing such symbols into four—sometimes five—components and using tools of paradifferential calculus, we derive sharp estimates on the action of such pseudo-differential operators on Sobolev spaces and give explicit expressions for their operator norm in terms of the symbol σ(x,ξ). We also study commutator estimates involving such operators, and generalize or improve the so-called Kato-Ponce and Calderon-Coifman-Meyer estimates in various ways.  相似文献

We find a natural generalization of the concept of rigid group. The generalized rigid groups are also called r-groups. The terms of the corresponding rigid series of every r-group can be characterized by both ?-formulas and ?-formulas. We find a recursive system of axioms for the class of r-groups of fixed solubility length. We define divisible r-groups and give an appropriate system of axioms. We prove that if (H, G) is a small, nm-stable compact G-group, then H is nilpotent-by-finite, and if additionally NM(H) < ω or NM(H) = ω α for some ordinal α, then H is abelian-by-finite. Both results are significant steps towards the proof of the conjecture that each small, nm-stable compact G-group is abelian-by-finite. We provide counter-examples to the NM-gap conjecture, that is we give examples of small, nm-stable compact G-groups of infinite ordinal NM-rank.  相似文献

In the present work, we introduce and study essentially a class of multi-dimensional modified fractional calculus operators involving a general class of polynomials in the kernel. These operators are considered in the space of functionsM γ (R + n ). Some mapping properties and fractional differential formulas are obtained. Let (X, ω) be a compact Kähler manifold. We introduce and study the largest set DMA(X, ω) of ω-plurisubharmonic (psh) functions on which the complex Monge-Ampère operator is well defined. It is much larger than the corresponding local domain of definition, though still a proper subset of the set PSH(X, ω) of all ω-psh functions. We prove that certain twisted Monge-Ampère operators are well defined for all ω-psh functions. As a consequence, any ω-psh function with slightly attenuated singularities has finite weighted Monge-Ampère energy.  相似文献

The authors investigate various inclusion and other properties of several subclasses of the class Ap of normalized p-valent analytic functions in the open unit disk, which are defined here by means of a certain linear operator. A major difficult problem in Galois theory is the characterization of profinite groups which are realizable as absolute Galois groups of fields. Recently the Kernel n-Unipotent Conjecture and the Vanishing n  -Massey Conjecture for n≥3n3 were formulated. These conjectures evolved in the last forty years as a byproduct of the application of topological methods to Galois cohomology. We show that both of these conjectures are true for odd rigid fields. This is the first case of a significant family of fields where both of the conjectures are verified besides fields whose Galois groups of p-maximal extensions are free pro-p-groups. We also prove the Kernel Unipotent Conjecture for Demushkin groups of rank 2, and establish various filtration results for free pro-p-groups, provide examples of pro-p-groups which do not have the kernel n-unipotent property, compare various Zassenhaus filtrations with the descending p-central series and establish new type of automatic Galois realization.  相似文献
