Comultiplication submodules of multiplication modules

Abstract

All rings are commutative with identity, and all modules are unital. The purpose of this work is to investigate comultiplication submodules of multiplication modules. Various properties of this class of submodules are considered. Sufficient conditions for the sum and intersection of a finite collection of comultiplication submodules to be a comultiplication submodule are also given.     

Prime and primary submodules of certain modules

In this paper we characterize all prime and primary submodules of the free R-module R ⁿ for a principal ideal domain R and find the minimal primary decomposition of any submodule of R ⁿ . In the case n = 2, we also determine the height of prime submodules.     

Radical of submodules and symmetric algebra

A prime ideal of the symmetric algebra of an R-module N is associated to every prime submodule M ?N and this assignment is then used to obtain a new characterization of the radical of a submodule. Several applications of these results are also included.     

Hilbert Cmodules in which all closed submodules are complemented

Let be a Calgebra. If there exists a full Hilbert module such that for each closed submodule , then is *-isomorphic to a Calgebra of (not neccesarily all) compact operators on a Hilbert space.

     

Representations over PID's with three distinguished submodules

Let be a principal ideal domain. The -representations with one distinguished submodule are classified by a theorem of Gaußin the case of finite rank, and by the ``Stacked Bases Theorem" of Cohen and Gluck in the case of infinite rank. Results of Hill and Megibben carry this classification even further. The -representations with two distinguished pure submodules have recently been classified by Arnold and Dugas in the finite-rank case, and by the authors for countable rank. Although wild representation type prevails for -representations with three distinguished pure submodules, an extensive category of such objects was recently classified by Arnold and Dugas. We carry their groundbreaking work further, simplifying the proofs of their main results and applying new machinery to study the structure of finite- and infinite-rank representations with two, three, and four distinguished submodules. We also apply these results to the classification of Butler groups, a class of torsion-free abelian groups that has been the focus of many investigations over the last sixteen years.

     

A description of Hilbert -modules in which all closed submodules are orthogonally closed

Regular submodules of torsion modules over a discrete valuation domain

A submodule W of a p-primary module M of bounded order is known to be regular if W and M have simultaneous bases. In this paper we derive necessary and sufficient conditions for regularity of a submodule.     

The subring generated by the units in a compact ring

ABSTRACT

In this paper, the authors introduce the concept of integrally closed modules and characterize Dedekind modules and Dedekind domains. They also show that a given domain R is integrally closed if and only if a finitely generated torsion-free projective R-module is integrally closed. In addition, it is proved that any invertible submodule of a finitely generated projective module over a domain is finitely generated and projective. Also they give the equivalent conditions for Dedekind modules and Dedekind domains.

     

On Invertible and Dense Submodules

Abstract

In this paper, the authors give a partial characterization of invertible, dense and projective submodules. In the final section, they give the equivalent conditions to be invertible, dense and projective submodules for a given an R-module M. They also provide conditions under which a given ring R is a Dedekind domain if and only if every non zero submodule of an R-module is locally free.     

基于演化博弈的大学生诚信考试研究

为研究一些要素对大学生诚信考试问题中主体行为演化的影响,借助演化博弈理论这一前沿研究工具,建立了监考教师与考生交互过程的演化模型,研究了各种情形下监考教师和学生行为交互系统均衡点的存在性和稳定性,并用数值仿真展示了决策参数的不同取值和初始条件的改变对演化结果的影响.研究发现:这些影响二者行为的要素作用的大小会影响均衡点的个数及其稳定性,均衡点的稳定性会在源点、汇点和鞍点之间变化,分析表明大学生从不诚信考试中获得的收益过高,对教师不认真监考监督、处罚不力,都可能使系统的演化向不良状态进化,并最终"锁定"于这一状态,并讨论了系统向良好状态演化和跳出不良"锁定"的条件.分析对大学生考试制度的创新和设计指明了方向.

Estimation of half-life for single compartmental elimination models

A method is presented to calculate accurate approximations to the half-life values of elimination systems modelled by one compartment. The major advantage of this method is that only algebraic mathematical operations are required. The results will be of value not only to students beginning the study of elimination kinetics, but also to professionals in the natural and engineering sciences who need quick, accurate estimates of the half-life of some physical system with regard to the flow of a material through it. We illustrate the method by applying it to several examples.     

Categorical Properties of Probabilistic Convergence Spaces

The purpose of this paper is to discuss some categorical properties of probabilistic convergence spaces. Its main theses are: (1) the construct P-PrTop of probabilistic pretopological spaces is the extensional topological hull of the construct FTPcs of FT-diagonal probabilistic convergence spaces for every triangular norm T; (2) the construct P-PsTop of probabilistic pseudotopological spaces is the topological universe hull of FTPcs for every triangular norm T.

Free Modules over Cartesian Closed Topological Categories

The construction of free R-modules over a Cartesian closed topological category X is detailed (where R is a ring object in X), and it is shown that the insertion of generators is an embedding. This result extends the well-known construction of free groups, and more generally of free algebras over a Cartesian closed topological category. Free submodules of indecomposable modules
