A necessary and sufficient condition for the period function's monotonicity on a period annulus is given. The approach is based on the theory of normalizers, but is applicable without actually knowing a normalizer. Some applications to polynomial and Hamiltonian systems are presented.

We consider hyperbolic tori of three degrees of freedom initially hyperbolic Hamiltonian systems. We prove that if the stable and unstable manifold of a hyperbolic torus intersect transversaly, then there exists a hyperbolic invariant set near a homoclinic orbit on which the dynamics is conjugated to a Bernoulli shift. The proof is based on a new geometrico-dynamical feature of partially hyperbolic systems, the transversality-torsion phenomenon, which produces complete hyperbolicity from partial hyperbolicity. We deduce the existence of infinitely many hyperbolic periodic orbits near the given torus. The relevance of these results for the instability of near-integrable Hamiltonian systems is then discussed. For a given transition chain, we construct chain of hyperbolic periodic orbits. Then we easily prove the existence of periodic orbits of arbitrarily high period close to such chain using standard results on hyperbolic sets.  相似文献

陀螺动力系统可以导入哈密顿辛几何体系,在哈密顿陀螺系统的辛子空间迭代法的基础上提出了一种能够有效计算大型不正定哈密顿函数的陀螺系统本征值问题的算法.利用陀螺矩阵既为哈密顿矩阵而本征值又是纯虚数或零的特点,将对应哈密顿函数为负的本征值分离开来,构造出对应哈密顿函数全为正的本征值问题,利用陀螺系统的辛子空间迭代法计算出正定哈密顿矩阵的本征值,从而解决了大型不正定陀螺系统的本征值问题,算例证明,本征解收敛得很快.  相似文献

We prove that there is an invariant torus with the given Diophantine frequency vector for a class of Hamiltonian systems defined by an integrable large Hamiltonian function with a large non-autonomous Hamiltonian perturbation. As for application, we prove that a finite network of Duffing oscillators with periodic external forces possesses Lagrange stability for almost all initial data.  相似文献

Given a Hamiltonian system, one can represent it using a symplectic map. This symplectic map is specified by a set of homogeneous polynomials which are uniquely determined by the Hamiltonian. In this paper, we construct an invariant norm in the space of homogeneous polynomials of a given degree. This norm is a function of parameters characterizing the original Hamiltonian system. A survey is given of various methods of integrating Hamiltonian systems on symmetric spaces and Lie algebras, and an analysis is also presented of applications of the technique developed to some mechanical problems. A Schur-type decomposition for Hamiltonian matrices is given that relies on unitary symplectic similarity transformations. These transformations preserve the Hamiltonian structure and are numerically stable, making them ideal for analysis and computation. Using this decomposition and a special singular-value decomposition for unitary symplectic matrices, a canonical reduction of the algebraic Riccati equation is obtained which sheds light on the sensitivity of the nonnegative definite solution. After presenting some real decompositions for real Hamiltonian matrices, we look into the possibility of an orthogonal symplectic version of the QR algorithm suitable for Hamiltonian matrices. A finite-step initial reduction to a Hessenberg-type canonical form is presented. However, no extension of the Francis implicit-shift technique was found, and reasons for the difficulty are given.  相似文献

A hierarchy of integrable couplings of Volterra lattice equations with three potentials is proposed, which is derived from a new discrete six-by-six matrix spectral problem. Moreover, by means of the discrete variational identity on semi-direct sums of Lie algebra, the two Hamiltonian forms are deduced for each lattice equation in the resulting hierarchy. A strong symmetry operator of the resulting hierarchy is given. Finally, we prove that the hierarchy of the resulting Hamiltonian equations are all Liouville integrable discrete Hamiltonian systems.  相似文献

Hamburger's power moment problem (the HPMP, for brevity) having a solution with infinitely many points of increase is shown to be the problem of finding all spectral functions for some canonical system of linear differential equations of phase dimension 2 with Hamiltonian of a special class. A rule for construction of this Hamiltonian using the data of the HPMP is given. In this connection, some results of the classical HPMP theory are given simple proofs. The eigenvalue problem of a class of fourth-order Hamiltonian operators is studied. We first obtain the geometric multiplicity, the algebraic index and the algebraic multiplicity of each eigenvalue of the Hamiltonian operators. Then, some necessary and sufficient conditions for the completeness of the eigen or root vector system of the Hamiltonian operators are given, which is characterized by that of the vector system consisting of the first components of all eigenvectors. We consider dynamic optimization problems for systems governed by differential inclusions. The main focus is on the structure of and interrelations between necessary optimality conditions stated in terms of Euler-Lagrange and Hamiltonian formalisms. The principal new results are: an extension of the recently discovered form of the Euler-Weierstrass condition to nonconvex valued differential inclusions, and a new Hamiltonian condition for convex valued inclusions. In both cases additional attention was given to weakening Lipschitz type requirements on the set-valued mapping. The central role of the Euler type condition is emphasized by showing that both the new Hamiltonian condition and the most general form of the Pontriagin maximum principle for equality constrained control systems are consequences of the Euler-Weierstrass condition. An example is given demonstrating that the new Hamiltonian condition is strictly stronger than the previously known one.
