In this paper, we study nonparametric surfaces over strictly convex bounded domains in , which are evolving by the mean curvature flow with Neumann boundary value. We prove that solutions converge to the ones moving only by translation. And we will prove the existence and uniqueness of the constant mean curvature equation with Neumann boundary value on strictly convex bounded domains. 相似文献

In this work we study the behaviour of compact, smooth, immersed manifolds with boundary which move under the mean curvature flow in Euclidian space. We thereby prescribe the Neumann boundary condition in a purely geometric manner by requiring a vertical contact angle between the unit normal fields of the immersions and a given, smooth hypersurface. We deduce a very sharp local gradient bound depending only on the curvature of the immersions and. Combining this with a short time existence result, we obtain the existence of a unique solution to any given smooth initial and boundary data. This solution either exists for anyt>0 or on a maximal finite time interval [0,T] such that the curvature explodes astT.This article was processed by the author using the LATEX style filepljourlm from Springer-Verlag. 相似文献

We provide explicit examples which show that mean convexity (i.e. positivity of the mean curvature) and positivity of the scalar curvature are non-preserved curvature conditions for hypersurfaces of the Euclidean space evolving under either the volume- or the area preserving mean curvature flow. The relevance of our examples is that they disprove some statements of the previous literature, overshadow a widespread folklore conjecture about the behaviour of these flows and bring out the discouraging news that a traditional singularity analysis is not possible for constrained versions of the mean curvature flow. 相似文献

The partitioning problem for a smooth convex bodyB 3 consists in to study, among surfaces which divideB in two pieces of prescribed volume, those which are critical points of the area functional. We study stable solutions of the above problem: we obtain several topological and geometrical restrictions for this kind of surfaces. In the case thatB is a Euclidean ball we obtain stronger results.Antonio Ros is partially supported by DGICYT grant PB91-0731 and Enaldo Vergasta is partially supported by CNPq grant 202326/91-8. 相似文献

We study the mean curvature flow of radially symmetric graphs with prescribed contact angle on a fixed, smooth hypersurface in Euclidean space. In this paper we treat two distinct problems. The first problem has a free Neumann boundary only, while the second has two disjoint boundaries, a free Neumann boundary and a fixed Dirichlet height. We separate the two problems and prove that under certain initial conditions we have either long time existence followed by convergence to a minimal surface, or finite maximal time of existence at the end of which the graphs develop a curvature singularity. We also give a rate of convergence for the singularity. 相似文献

Using a geometric flow, we study the following prescribed scalar curvature plus mean curvature problem: Let \((M,g_0)\) be a smooth compact manifold of dimension \(n\ge 3\) with boundary. Given any smooth functions f in M and h on \(\partial M\), does there exist a conformal metric of \(g_0\) such that its scalar curvature equals f and boundary mean curvature equals h? Assume that f and h are negative and the conformal invariant \(Q(M,\partial M)\) is a negative real number, we prove the global existence and convergence of the so-called prescribed scalar curvature plus mean curvature flows. Via a family of such flows together with some additional variational arguments, we prove the existence and uniqueness of positive minimizers of the associated energy functional and give a confirmative answer to the above problem. The same result also can be obtained by sub–super-solution method and subcritical approximations. 相似文献

We consider the flow of a strictly convex hypersurface driven by the Gauß curvature. For the Neumann boundary value problem and for the second boundary value problem we show that such a flow exists for all times and converges eventually to a solution of the prescribed Gauß curvature equation. We also discuss oblique boundary value problems and flows for Hessian equations. 相似文献

In this paper we review all the main known results about mean curvature flows with initial surfaces symplectic in a Kähler-Einstein surface, including published results and new results obtained recently. We also propose some problems that we think are very interesting. 相似文献

We study asharpinterface model for phase transitions which incorporates the interaction of the phase boundaries with the walls of a container Ω. In
this model, the interfaces move by their mean curvature and are normal to δΩ. We first establish local-in-time existence and
uniqueness of smooth solutions for the mean curvature equation with a normal contact angle condition. We then discuss global
solutions by interpreting the equation and the boundary condition in a weak (viscosity) sense. Finally, we investigate the
relation of the aforementioned model with atransitionlayer model. We prove that if Ω isconvex, the transition-layer solutions converge to the sharp-interface solutions as the thickness of the layer tends to zero. We
conclude with a discussion of the difficulties that arise in establishing this result in nonconvex domains.

H?lder continuity up to the free boundary is proved for minimizing solutions if they meet the supporting surface in an angle
which is bounded away from zero. The problem is localized by proving the continuity of the distance function, a result which
is also true for stationary points.

The maximum principle is applied to prove the Harnack estimate of curvature flows of hypersurfaces in Rn+1,where the normal velocity is given by a smooth function f depending only on the mean curvature.By use of the estimate, some corollaries are obtained including the integral Harnack inequality. In particular, the conditions are given with which the solution to the flows is a translation soliton or an expanding soliton. 相似文献

In this paper we study stable constant mean curvature surfaces in the Euclidean space with circular boundary. We show that in the case of genus zero, the only such surfaces are the spherical caps and the flat discs. We also extend this result to the case of surfaces in the other space forms, namely the sphere and the hyperbolic space .

In this article, we prove some nonexistence results for the translating solitons to the symplectic mean curvature flows or
to the almost calibrated Lagrangian mean curvature flows under some curvature assumptions. 相似文献
