Three rare compounds have been synthesized and structurally characterized; these species have paddlewheel structures and Re(2)(7+) cores surrounded by four bicyclic guanidinates and two axial ligands along the Re-Re axis. Each possesses a formal bond order of 3.5 and a σ(2)π(4)δ(1) electronic configuration that entails the presence of one unpaired electron for each compound. The guanidinate ligands characterized by having CH(2) entities and a central C(N)(3) unit that joins two cyclic units--one having two fused 6-membered rings (hpp) and the other having a 5- and a 6-membered ring fused together (tbn)--allowed the isolation of [Re(2)(tbn)(4)Cl(2)]PF(6), 1, [Re(2)(tbn)(4)Cl(2)]Cl, 2, and [Re(2)(hpp)(4)(O(3)SCF(3))(2)](O(3)SCF(3)), 3. Because of the larger bite angle of the tbn relative to the hpp ligand, the Re-Re bond distances in 1 and 2 (2.2691(14) and 2.2589(14) ?, respectively) are much longer than that in 3 (2.1804(8) ?). Importantly, electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) studies at both X-band (~9.4 GHz) and W-band (112 GHz) in the solid and in frozen solution show unusually low g-values (~1.75) and the absence of zero-field splitting, providing direct evidence for the presence of one metal-based unpaired electron for both 1 and 3. These spectroscopic data suggest that the unsymmetrical 5-/6-membered ligand leads to the formation of isomers, as shown by significantly broader EPR signals for 1 than for 3, even though both compounds possess what appears to be similar ideal crystallographic axial symmetry on the X-ray time scale.  相似文献

Samples of the anatase phase of titania were treated under vacuum to create Ti(3+) surface-defect sites and surface O(-) and O(2) (-) species (indicated by electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectra), accompanied by the disappearance of bridging surface OH groups and the formation of terminal Ti(3+)-OH groups (indicated by IR spectra). EPR spectra showed that the probe molecule [Re(3)(CO)(12)H(3)] reacted preferentially with the Ti(3+) sites, forming Ti(4+) sites with OH groups as the [Re(3)(CO)(12)H(3)] was adsorbed. Extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) spectra showed that these clusters were deprotonated upon adsorption, with the triangular metal frame remaining intact; EPR spectra demonstrated the simultaneous removal of surface O(-) and O(2) (-) species. The data determined by the three complementary techniques form the basis of a schematic representation of the surface chemistry. According to this picture, during evacuation at 773 K, defect sites are formed on hydroxylated titania as a bridging OH group is removed, forming two neighboring Ti(3+) sites, or, when a Ti(4+)-O bond is cleaved, forming a Ti(3+) site and an O(-) species, with the Ti(4+)-OH group being converted into a Ti(3+)-OH group. When the probe molecule [Re(3)(CO)(12)H(3)] is adsorbed on a titania surface with Ti(3+) defect sites, it reacts preferentially with these sites, becoming deprotonated, removing most of the oxygen radicals, and healing the defect sites.  相似文献

Face-capped octahedral [Re(6)Se(8)(CN)(6)](3-/4-) clusters are used in place of octahedral [M(CN)(6)](3-/4-) complexes for the synthesis of microporous Prussian blue type solids with adjustable porosity. The reaction between [Fe(H(2)O)(6)](3+) and [Re(6)Se(8)(CN)(6)](4-) in aqueous solution yields, upon heating, Fe(4)[Re(6)Se(8)(CN)(6)](3).36H(2)O (4). A single-crystal X-ray analysis confirms the structure of 4 to be a direct expansion of Prussian blue (Fe(4)[Fe(CN)(6)](3).14H(2)O), with [Re(6)Se(8)(CN)(6)](4-) clusters connected through octahedral Fe(3+) ions in a cubic three-dimensional framework. As in Prussian blue, one out of every four hexacyanide units is missing from the structure, creating sizable, water-filled cavities within the neutral framework. Oxidation of (Bu(4)N)(4)[Re(6)Se(8)(CN)(6)] (1) with iodine in methanol produces (Bu(4)N)(3)[Re(6)Se(8)(CN)(6)] (2), which is then metathesized to give the water-soluble salt Na(3)[Re(6)Se(8)(CN)(6)] (3). Reaction of [Co(H(2)O)(6)](2+) or [Ni(H(2)O)(6)](2+) with 3 in aqueous solution affords Co(3)[Re(6)Se(8)(CN)(6)](2).25H(2)O (5) or Ni(3)[Re(6)Se(8)(CN)(6)](2).33H(2)O (6). Powder X-ray diffraction data show these compounds to adopt structures based on the same cubic framework present in 4, but with one out of every three cluster hexacyanide units missing as a consequence of charge balance. In contrast, reaction of [Ga(H(2)O)(6)](3+) with 3 gives Ga[Re(6)Se(8)(CN)(6)].6H(2)O (7), wherein charge balance dictates a fully occupied cubic framework enclosing much smaller cavities. The expanded Prussian blue analogues 4-7 can be fully dehydrated, and retain their crystallinity with extended heating at 250 degrees C. Consistent with the trend in the frequency of framework vacancies, dinitrogen sorption isotherms show porosity to increase along the series of representative compounds 7, Ga(4)[Re(6)Se(8)(CN)(6)](3).38H(2)O, and 6. Furthermore, all of these phases display a significantly higher sorption capacity and surface area than observed in dehydrated Prussian blue. Despite incorporating paramagnetic [Re(6)Se(8)(CN)(6)](3-) clusters, no evidence for magnetic ordering in compound 6 is apparent at temperatures down to 5 K. Reactions related to those employed in preparing compounds 4-6, but carried out at lower pH, produce the isostructural phases H[cis-M(H(2)O)(2)][Re(6)Se(8)(CN)(6)].2H(2)O (M = Fe (8), Co (9), Ni (10)). The crystal structure of 8 reveals a densely packed three-dimensional framework in which [Re(6)Se(8)(CN)(6)](4-) clusters are interlinked through a combination of protons and Fe(3+) ions.  相似文献

Four Th(IV) hydroxide/oxide clusters have been synthesized from aqueous solution. The structures of [Th(8)(μ(3)-O)(4)(μ(2)-OH)(8)(H(2)O)(15)(SeO(4))(8)·7.5H(2)O] (1), [Th(8)(μ(3)-O)(4)(μ(2)-OH)(8)(H(2)O)(17)(SeO(4))(8)·nH(2)O] (2), [Th(9)(μ(3)-O)(4)(μ(2)-OH)(8)(H(2)O)(21)(SeO(4))(10)] (3), and Th(9)(μ(3)-O)(4)(μ(2)-OH)(8)(H(2)O)(21)(SeO(4))(10)·nH(2)O (4) were determined using single crystal X-ray diffraction. Each structure consists of an octanuclear core, [Th(8)O(4)(OH)(8)](16+), that is built from eight Th(IV) atoms (four Th in a plane and two up and two down) linked by four "inner" μ(3)-O and eight "outer" μ(2)-OH groups. Compounds 3 and 4 additionally contain mononuclear [Th(H(2)O)(5)(SeO(4))(4)](4-) units that link the octamers into an extended structure. The octanuclear units are invariably complexed by two selenate anions that sit in two cavities formed by four planar Th(IV) and four extra-planar Th(IV) atoms, thus making [Th(8)O(4)(OH)(8)(SeO(4))(2)](12+) a common building block in 1-4. However, changes in hydration as well selenate coordination give rise to structural differences that are observed in the extended structures of 1-4. The compounds were also characterized by Raman spectroscopy. Density functional theory calculations were performed to predict the geometries, vibrational frequencies, and relative energies of different structures. Details of the calculated structures are in good agreement with experimental results, and the calculated frequencies were used to assign the experimental Raman spectra. On the basis of an analysis of the DFT results, the compound Th(8)O(8)(OH)(4)(SeO(4))(6) was predicted to be a strong gas phase acid but is reduced to a weak acid in aqueous solution. Of the species studied computationally, the dication Th(8)O(6)(OH)(6)(SeO(6))(6)(2+) is predicted to be the most stable in aqueous solution at 298 K followed by the monocation Th(8)O(7)(OH)(5)(SeO(6))(6)(+).  相似文献

The reaction of [M(CN)(6)](3-) (M = Cr(3+), Mn(3+), Fe(3+), Co(3+)) and [M(CN)(8)](4-/3-) (M = Mo(4+/5+), W(4+/5+)) with the trinuclear copper(II) complex of 1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triyltris[3-(1,3,5,8,12-pentaazacyclotetradecane)] ([Cu(3)(L)](6+)) leads to partially encapsulated cyanometalates. With hexacyanometalate(III) complexes, [Cu(3)(L)](6+) forms the isostructural host-guest complexes [[[Cu(3)(L)(OH(2))(2)][M(CN)(6)](2)][M(CN)(6)]][M(CN)(6)]30 H(2)O with one bridging, two partially encapsulated, and one isolated [M(CN)(6)](3-) unit. The octacyanometalates of Mo(4+/5+) and W(4+/5+) are encapsulated by two tris-macrocyclic host units. Due to the stability of the +IV oxidation state of Mo and W, only assemblies with [M(CN)(8)](4-) were obtained. The Mo(4+) and W(4+) complexes were crystallized in two different structural forms: [[Cu(3)(L)(OH(2))](2)[Mo(CN)(8)]](NO(3))(8)15 H(2)O with a structural motif that involves isolated spherical [[Cu(3)(L)(OH(2))](2)[M(CN)(8)]](8+) ions and a "string-of-pearls" type of structure [[[Cu(3)(L)](2)[M(CN)(8)]][M(CN)(8)]](NO(3))(4) 20 H(2)O, with [M(CN)(8)](4-) ions that bridge the encapsulated octacyanometalates in a two-dimensional network. The magnetic exchange coupling between the various paramagnetic centers is characterized by temperature-dependent magnetic susceptibility and field-dependent magnetization data. Exchange between the CuCu pairs in the [Cu(3)(L)](6+) "ligand" is weakly antiferromagnetic. Ferromagnetic interactions are observed in the cyanometalate assemblies with Cr(3+), exchange coupling of Mn(3+) and Fe(3+) is very small, and the octacoordinate Mo(4+) and W(4+) systems have a closed-shell ground state.  相似文献

A complex containing the face-capped octahedral [Re(6)(mu(3)-Se)(8)](2+) cluster core, cis-[Re(6)(mu(3)-Se)(8)(PPh(3))(4)(4,4'-dipyridyl)(2)](SbF(6))(2) (1), is used as a ditopic ligand with an enforced right angle between the two 4,4'-dipyridyl moieties for the coordination of Cd(2+) ion. Two coordination polymers, [[Re(6)(mu(3)-Se)(8)(PPh(3))(4)(4,4'-dipyridyl)(2)](2)[Cd(NO(3))(2)]](SbF(6))(4).21C(4)H(10)O.21CH(2)Cl(2) (2) and [[Re(6)(mu(3)-Se)(8)(PPh(3))(4)(4,4'-dipyridyl)(2)][Cd(NO(3))(3)]](NO(3)).2C(4)H(10)O.CH(2)Cl(2) (3), are obtained. The relative concentration of Cd(2+) determines which species is isolated, and the conversion of the first structure into the second is demonstrated experimentally.  相似文献

The reaction of the open bioctahedral form of Re(2)Cl(4)(&mgr;-dppm)(2)(CO)(CNXyl) (1), where XylNC = 2,6-dimethylphenyl isocyanide, with TlO(3)SCF(3) in the presence of acetonitrile proceeds with retention of stereochemistry at the dirhenium unit to afford the complex [Re(2)Cl(3)(&mgr;-dppm)(2)(CO)(CNXyl)(NCCH(3))]O(3)SCF(3) (3). The single-crystal X-ray structure determination of 3 shows that a Re&tbd1;Re bond is retained (the Re-Re distance is 2.378(3) ?) and that it is the chloride ligand trans to the XylNC ligand of 1 which is labilized. Complex 1 reacts with TlO(3)SCF(3) in a noncoordinating solvent to produce the unsymmetrical complex [Re(2)Cl(3)(&mgr;-dppm)(2)(CO)(CNXyl)]O(3)SCF(3) (2), through loss of this same chloride ligand of 1 and CO transfer from the adjacent Re center. The acetonitrile ligand of 3 is very labile and is readily displaced by XylNC and t-BuNC, with retention of stereochemistry, to produce complexes of stoichiometry [Re(2)Cl(3)(&mgr;-dppm)(2)(CO)(CNXyl)(CNR)]O(3)SCF(3) (R = Xyl, 4a; R = t-Bu, 4b). In a noncoordinating solvent, the nitrile ligand of 3 is lost and 2 is formed following CO transfer; this conversion is reversed upon the reaction of 2 with acetonitrile. When 3 is treated with CO, the acetonitrile ligand is again displaced, but in this instance the reaction is accompanied by a structure change to produce an edge-sharing bioctahedral complex of the type [Re(2)(&mgr;-CO)(&mgr;-Cl)(&mgr;-dppm)(2)Cl(2)(CO)(CNXyl)]O(3)SCF(3) (5).  相似文献

Cationic hexarhodium and hexairidium complexes with a trigonal prismatic architecture have been synthesised in good yield by self-assembly of the dinuclear oxalato-bridged complexes [Cp(2)M(2)(micro-C(2)O(4)-kappaO)Cl(2)] (M = Rh; 1: Ir; 2) with 2,4,6-tri(pyridine-4-yl)-1,3,5-triazine (tpt) in the presence of AgO(3)SCF(3). The trigonal prismatic cations [Cp(6)Rh(6)(micro(3)-tpt-kappaN)(2)(micro-C(2)O(4)-kappaO)(3)](6+) (3) and [Cp(6)Ir(6)(micro(3)-tpt-kappaN)(2)(micro-C(2)O(4)-kappaO)(3)](6+) (4) have been isolated as their triflate salts. The single-crystal X-ray structure analysis of [3][O(3)SCF(3)](6) shows two enantiomers in the racemic crystal (space group C2/c), the chirality being due to a twist of the two tpt units. By contrast, the single-crystal X-ray structure analysis of [4][O(3)SCF(3)](6) shows a perfectly eclipsed conformation of the tpt units, so that is not chiral in the crystal state (space group Fd3[combining macron]c). However, in solution, enantiodifferentiation in the presence of the chiral anion Delta-BINPHAT is observed by (1)H NMR spectrometry not only in the case of 3, but also in the case of 4. This suggests that the iridium derivative 4, which is not chiral in the solid state, adopts chiral conformations in solution.  相似文献

Reaction of the cyclic lacunary [H(7)P(8)W(48)O(184)](33-) anion (noted P(8)W(48)) with the [Mo(2)S(2)O(2)(H(2)O)(6)](2+) oxothiocation led to two compounds, namely, [K(4){Mo(4)O(4)S(4)(H(2)O)(3)(OH)(2)}(2)(WO(2))(P(8)W(48)O(184))](30-) (denoted 1) and [{Mo(4)O(4)S(4)(H(2)O)(3)(OH)(2)}(2)(P(8)W(48)O(184))](36-) (denoted 2), which were characterized in the solid state and solution. In the solid state, the structure of [K(4){Mo(4)O(4)S(4)(H(2)O)(3)(OH)(2)}(2)(WO(2))(P(8)W(48)O(184))](30-) reveals the presence of two disordered {Mo(4)O(4)S(4)(H(2)O)(3)(OH)(2)}(2+) "handles" connected on both sides of the P(8)W(48) ring. Such a disorder is consistent with the presence of two geometrical isomers where the relative disposition of the two {Mo(4)O(4)S(4)(H(2)O)(3)(OH)(2)}(2+) handles are arranged in a perpendicular or parallel mode. Such an interpretation is fully supported by (31)P and (183)W NMR solution studies. The relative stability of both geometrical isomers appears to be dependent upon the nature of the internal alkali cations, i.e., Na(+) vs K(+), and increased lability of the two {Mo(4)O(4)S(4)(H(2)O)(3)(OH)(2)}(2+) handles, compared to the oxo analogous, was clearly identified by significant broadening of the (31)P and (183)W NMR lines. Solution studies carried out by UV-vis spectroscopy showed that formation of the adduct [{Mo(4)O(4)S(4)(H(2)O)(3)(OH)(2)}(2)(P(8)W(48)O(184))](36-) occurs in the 1.5-4.7 pH range and corresponds to a fast and quantitative condensation process. Furthermore, (31)P NMR titrations in solution reveal formation of the "monohandle" derivative [{Mo(4)O(4)S(4)(H(2)O)(3)(OH)(2)}(P(8)W(48)O(184))](38-) as an intermediate prior to formation of the "bishandle" derivatives. Furthermore, the electrochemical behavior of [{Mo(4)O(4)S(4)(H(2)O)(3)(OH)(2)}(2)(P(8)W(48)O(184))](36-) was studied in aqueous medium and compared with the parent anion P(8)W(48).  相似文献

Oxidation of Os(2)(hpp)(4)Cl(2), 1 (hpp = the anion of 1,3,4,6,7,8-hexahydro-2H-pyrimido[1,2-a]pyrimidine), with (FeCp(2))PF(6) produces air-stable [Os(2)(hpp)(4)Cl(2)]PF(6), 2. This is the first structurally confirmed metal-metal bonded paddlewheel compound having an M(2)(7+) core. The Os-Os distances for two crystalline forms, 2.2acetone and 2.hexane, are 2.3309(4) and 2.3290(6) A, respectively. EPR, (1)H NMR, and magnetization data indicate that 2 has an unpaired electron and an exceptionally low g value of 0.791 +/- 0.037. An electrochemical study shows that there is a quasireversible wave corresponding to a more highly oxidized species with an unprecedented Os(2)(8+) core.  相似文献

Treatment of [M(II)(en)(3)][OTs](2) or methanolic ethylenediamine solutions containing transition metal p-toluenesulfonates (M(II) = Mn, Co) with aqueous K(4)M(IV)(CN)(8).2H(2)O or Cs(3)M(V)(CN)(8) (M(IV) = Mo, W; M(V) = Mo) affords crystalline clusters of [M(II)(en)(3)][cis-M(II)(en)(2)(OH(2))(mu-NC)M(IV)(CN)(7)].2H(2)O (M(IV) = Mo; M(II) = Mn, 1; Ni, 5; M(IV) = W; M(II) = Mn, 2; Ni, 6) and [cis-M(II)(en)(2)(OH(2))](2)[(mu-NC)(2)M(IV)(CN)(6)].4H(2)O (M(IV) = Mo; M(II) = Co, 3; Ni, 7; M(IV) = W; M(II) = Co, 4) stoichiometry. Each cluster contains cis-M(II)(en)(2)(OH(2))(mu-NC)(2+) units that likely result from dissociative loss of en from [M(II)(en)(3)](2+), affording cis-M(II)(en)(2)(OH(2))(2)(2+) intermediates that are trapped by M(IV)(CN)(8)(4-).  相似文献

Isoelectronic oxo-bridged diiron(III) aquo complexes of the homologous tripodal tetradentate amino acid ligands, N,N'-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)-3-aminoacetate (bpg(-)) and N,N'-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)-3-aminopropionate (bpp(-)), containing [(H(2)O)Fe(III)-(mu-O)-Fe(III)(H(2)O)](4+) cores, oligomerise, respectively, by dehydration and deprotonation, or by dehydration only, in reversible reactions. In the solid state, [Fe(2)(O)(bpp)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](ClO(4))(2) (1(ClO(4))(2)) exhibits stereochemistry identical to that of [Fe(2)(O)(bpg)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](ClO(4))(2) (2(ClO(4))(2)), with the ligand carboxylate donor oxygen atoms and the water molecules located cis to the oxo bridge and the tertiary amine group trans to it. Despite their structural similarity, 1(2+) and 2(2+) display markedly different aggregation behaviour in solution. In the absence of significant water, 1(2+) dehydrates and dimerises to give the tetranuclear complex, [Fe(4)(O)(2)(bpp)(4)](ClO(4))(4) (3(ClO(4))(4)), in which the carboxylate groups of the four bpp(-) ligands act as bridging groups between two [Fe(2)(O)(bpp)(2)](2+) units. Under similar conditions, 2(2+) dehydrates and deprotonates to form dinuclear and trinuclear oligomers, [Fe(2)(O)(OH)(bpg)(2)](ClO(4)) (4ClO(4)) and [Fe(3)(O)(2)(OH)(bpg)(3)](ClO(4)) (5(ClO(4))), related by addition of 'Fe(O)(bpg)' units. The trinuclear 5(ClO(4)), characterised crystallographically as two solvates 5(ClO(4)).3H(2)O and 5(ClO(4)).2MeOH, is based on a hexagonal [Fe(3)(O)(2)(OH)(bpg)(3)](+) unit, formally containing one hydroxo and two oxo bridges. The different aggregation behaviour of 1(ClO(4))(2) and 2(ClO(4))(2) results from the difference of one methylene group in the pendant carboxylate arms of the amino acid ligands.  相似文献

The hydroxo compounds [Re(OH)(CO)(3)(N-N)] (N-N=bipy, 2 a; Me(2)-bipy, 2 b) were prepared in a biphasic H(2)O/CH(2)Cl(2) medium by reaction of [Re(OTf)(CO)(3)(N-N)] with KOH. In contrast, when anhydrous CH(2)Cl(2) was used, the binuclear hydroxo-bridged compound [[Re(CO)(3)(bipy)](2)(mu-OH)]OTf (3-OTf) was obtained. Compound [Re(OH)(CO)(3)(Me(2)-bipy)] (2 b) reacted with phenyl acetate or vinyl acetate to afford [Re(OAc)(CO)(3)(Me(2)-bipy)] (4) and phenol or acetaldehyde, respectively. The reactions of [Mo(OH)(eta(3)-C(3)H(4)-Me-2)(CO)(2)(phen)] (1), 2 a, and 2 b toward several unsaturated organic electrophiles were studied. The reaction of 1 with (p-tolyl)isocyanate afforded an adduct of N,N'-di(p-tolyl)urea and the carbonato-bridged compound [[Mo(eta(3)-C(3)H(4)-Me-2)(CO)(2)(phen)](2)(mu-eta(1)(O),eta(1)(O)-CO(3))] (5). In contrast, the reaction of 2 a with phenylisocyanate afforded [Re(OC(O)NHPh)(CO)(3)(bipy)] (6); this results from formal PhNCO insertion into the O-H bond. On the other hand, compounds [Mo[SC(O)NH(p-tolyl)](eta(3)-C(3)H(4)-Me-2)(CO)(2)(phen)] (7), [Re[SC(O)NH(p-tolyl)](CO)(3)(Me(2)-bipy)] (8 a), and [Re[SC(O)NHEt](CO)(3)(Me(2)-bipy)] (8 b) were obtained by reaction of 1 or 2 b with the corresponding alkyl or aryl isothiocyanates. In those cases, RNCS was inserted into the M-O bond. The reactions of 1, 2 a, and 2 b with dimethylacetylenedicarboxylate (DMAD) gave the complexes [Mo[C(OH)-C(CO(2)Me)C(CO(2)Me)-O](eta(3)-C(3)H(4)-Me-2)(CO)(phen)] (9) and [Re[C(OH)C(CO(2)Me)C(CO(2)Me)O](CO)(2)(N-N)] (N-N=bipy, 10 a; Me(2)-bipy, 10 b). The molecules of these compounds contain five-membered metallacycles that are the result of coupling between the hydroxo ligand, DMAD, and one of the CO ligands. The new compounds were characterized by a combination of IR and NMR spectroscopy, and for [[Re(CO)(3)(bipy)(2)(mu-OH)]BF(4) (3-BF(4)), 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 b, 9, and 10 b, also by means of single-crystal X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

Two unique octa- and hendeca-nuclear dysprosium(III) clusters incorporating [Dy(4)(μ(3)-OH)(4)](8+) cubane units have been synthesized with the 1,10-phenanthroline-2,9-dicarbaldehyde dioxime (H(2)phendox) ligand and DyCl(3)·6H(2)O or Dy(OAc)(3)·4H(2)O. They are [Dy(8)(OH)(8)(phendox)(6)(H(2)O)(8)]Cl(2)(OH)(2)·18H(2)O·18MeOH (1) and [Dy(11)(OH)(11)(phendox)(6)(phenda)(3)(OAc)(3)](OH)·40H(2)O·7MeOH (2). Adjacent Dy(8) in 1 or Dy(11) in 2 motifs are packed by off-set π-π interactions of the aromatic rings on phendox(2-) to generate a 3D supramolecular architecture in the honeycomb topology and with 1D or 3D channels along the c-axis. Adsorption research shows that complex 1 has selective adsorption ability for H(2)O over small gas molecules (H(2), N(2), CO(2)). Complex 2 is stable upon the removal of guest molecules and the desolvated compound absorbed a considerable amount of CO(2). Furthermore, the oximes underwent hydrolysis to carboxylic acid and the resulting 1,10-phenanthroline-2,9-dicarboxylate link the dysprosium atoms to form a hendecanuclear cluster of 2. Magnetic studies reveal that both clusters exhibit slow magnetic relaxation behavior, expanding upon the recent reports of the pure 4f type single-molecule magnets (SMMs).  相似文献

Three novel vanadogermanate cluster anions have been synthesized by hydrothermal reactions. The cluster anions are derived from the (V(18)O(42)) Keggin cluster shell by substitution of V=O(2+) "caps" by Ge(2)O(OH)(2)(4+) species. In Cs(8)[Ge(4)V(16)O(42)(OH)(4)].4.7H(2)O, 1, (monoclinic, space group C2/c (No. 15), Z = 8, a = 44.513(2) A, b = 12.7632(7) A, c = 22.923(1) A, beta = 101.376(1) degrees ) and (pipH(2))(4)(pipH)(4)[Ge(8)V(14)O(50).(H(2)O)] (pip = C(4)N(2)H(10)), 2 (tetragonal, space group P4(2)/nnm (No. 134), Z = 2, a = 14.9950(7) A, c = 18.408(1) A), two and four VO(2+) caps are replaced, respectively, and each cluster anion encapsulates a water molecule. In K(5)H(8)Ge(8)V(12)SO(52).10H(2)O, 3, (tetragonal, space group I4/m (No. 87), Z = 2, a = 15.573(1) A, c = 10.963(1) A), four VO(2+) caps are replaced by Ge(2)O(OH)(2)(4+) species, and an additional two are omitted. The cluster ion in 3 contains a sulfate anion disordered over two positions. The cluster anions are analogous to the vanadoarsenate anions [V(18)(-)(n)()As(2)(n)()O(42)(X)](m)(-) (X = SO(3), SO(4), Cl; n = 3, 4) previously reported.  相似文献

The present study investigates structural and functional aspects of the redox chemistry of rhenium(III) chloride [Re3Cl9] (1) in aqueous and organic solvents, with emphasis on the dioxygen-activating capabilities of reduced rhenium clusters bearing the Re3(8+) core. Dissolution of 1 in HCl (6 M) generates [Re3(mu-Cl)3Cl9]3- (2a), which can be isolated as the tetraphenylphosphonium salt (2b). Anaerobic one-electron reduction of 1 by Hg in HCl (6-12 M) produces [(C6H5)4P]2[Re3(mu-Cl)3Cl7(H2O)2].H2O (3), the structure of which features a planar [Re3(mu-Cl)3Cl3] framework (Re3(8+) core), involving two water ligands that occupy out-of-plane positions in a trans arrangement. Compound 3 dissociates in the presence of CO, yielding [(C6H5)4P]2[ReIII2Cl8] (4) and an unidentified red carbonyl species. In situ oxidation (O2) of the reduced Re3(8+)-containing cluster in HCl (6 M) produces quantitatively 2a, whereas oxidation of 3 in organic media results in the formation of [(C6H5)4P]4[(Re3(mu-Cl)3Cl7(mu-OH))2].2CH2Cl2 (5). The structure of 5 reveals that two oxygen ligands (hydroxo units) bridge asymmetrically two Re3(9+) triangular clusters. The origin of these hydroxo units derives from the aquo ligands, rather than O2, as shown by 18O2 labeling studies. The hydroxo bridges of 5 can be replaced by chlorides upon treatment with Me3SiCl to afford the analogous [(C6H5)4P]4[(Re3(mu-Cl)3Cl7(mu-Cl))2].10CH2Cl2 (6). The reaction of 5 with Hg in HCl (6 M)/tetrahydrofuran regenerates compound 3. Complexes 1-3 exhibit nitrile hydratase type activity, inducing hydrolysis of CH3CN to acetamide. The reaction of 3 with CH3CN yields [(C6H5)4P]2[Re3(mu-Cl)3Cl6.5(CH3CN)1.5(CH3C(O)NH)0.5] (7), the structure of which is composed of [Re3(mu-Cl)3Cl7(CH3CN)2]2- (7a) and [Re3(mu-Cl)3Cl6(CH3CN)(CH3C(O)NH)]2- (7b) (Re3(8+) cores) as a disordered mixture (1:1). Oxidation of 7 with O2 in CH3CN affords [(C6H5)4P]2[Re3(mu-Cl)3Cl7(CH3C(O)NH)].CH3CN (8) and small amounts of [(C6H5)4P][ReO4] (9). Compound 8 is also independently isolated from the reaction of 2b with wet CH3CN, or by dissolving 5 in CH3CN. In MeOH, 5 dissociates to afford [(C6H5)4P]2[Re3(mu-Cl)3Cl8(MeOH)].MeOH (10).  相似文献

Two new Cu(II) azido polyoxometalates compounds have been synthesized, and their structures were determined by X-ray crystallography. The compound Na(14)[SiW(9)O(34)Cu(3)(N(3))(2)(OH)(H(2)O)](2) x 24H(2)O (1) is built from two [SiW(9)O(34)Cu(3)(mu(1,1,3)-N(3))(2)(mu-OH)(H(2)O)](7-) subunits where the copper centers, connected by two azido ligands and one hydroxo group, form a nearly equilateral triangle. The two subunits are related by an inversion center and connected via the two mu(1,1,3)-N(3) ligands in an end-to-end fashion, affording a hexanuclear Cu(II) cluster. Linkage of these fragments via Cu-O=W bonds leads to a bidimensional arrangement of the polyoxometalate units. The complex LiK(14)Na(9)[P(8)W(48)O(184)Cu(20)(N(3))(6)(OH)(18)] x 60H(2)O (2) consists of two {Cu(5)(OH)(4)}(6+) and two {Cu(5)(OH)(2)(mu(1,1,3,3)-N(3))}(7+) subunits connected via four mu-OH and four mu(1,1)-N(3) additional ligands, the 20 copper centers being encapsulated in the [P(8)W(48)O(184)](40-) crown polyoxotungstate ligand. 1 represents the first multidimensional compound based on azido polyoxometalate (POM) units, and 2 represents by far the largest azido POM complex isolated to date. Magnetic measurements revealed an overall antiferromagnetic behavior for both compounds. Nevertheless, the study of the variation of the magnetization with the applied field indicates that 1 possesses a triplet ground state, which can be attributed to weak ferromagnetic interaction between the S = 1/2 triangular subunits. The stability of 1 and 2 evidenced by UV-vis spectroscopy and gel filtration chromatography, in particular at pH 5, has allowed a detailed study of their redox and electrocatalytic properties. For both compounds, the stability of the Cu(II)/Cu(I) couple is remarkable compared with the observations made in other Cu(II)-substituted POMs. Electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance measurements clearly demonstrate that the formation of the Cu(I) species occurs neatly without the formation of Cu(0). The accumulation of such Cu(II) centers within the complexes is a favorable condition to envision applications involving several electrons. The electrocatalytic reduction of dioxygen and hydrogen peroxide was achieved efficiently and has shown that the reactivity increases with the nuclearity and/or the Cu/W ratio of the POM complex. The dioxygen reduction is an overall four-electron process with water as the final product. Finally, the reduction of the W centers triggers a strong electrocatalysis of solvent reduction.  相似文献

The reactions of the unsymmetrical, coordinatively unsaturated dirhenium(II) complexes [Re(2)Br(3)(&mgr;-dppm)(2)(CO)(CNXyl)]Y (XylNC = 2,6-dimethylphenyl isocyanide; Y = O(3)SCF(3) (3a), PF(6) (3b)) with XylNC afford at least three isomeric forms of the complex cation [Re(2)Br(3)(&mgr;-dppm)(2)(CO)(CNXyl)(2)](+). Two forms have very similar bis(&mgr;-halo)-bridged edge-sharing bioctahedral structures of the type [(CO)BrRe(&mgr;-Br)(2)(&mgr;-dppm)(2)Re(CNXyl)(2)]Y (Y = O(3)SCF(3) (4a/4a'), PF(6) (4b/4b')), while the third is an open bioctahedron [(XylNC)(2)BrRe(&mgr;-dppm)(2)ReBr(2)(CO)]Y (Y = O(3)SCF(3) (5a), PF(6) (5b)). While the analogous chloro complex cation [Re(2)Cl(3)(&mgr;-dppm)(2)(CO)(CNXyl)(2)](+) was previously shown to exist in three isomeric forms, only one of these has been found to be structurally similar to the bromo complexes (i.e. the isomer analogous to 5a and 5b). The reaction of 3a with CO gives the salt [Re(2)Br(3)(&mgr;-dppm)(2)(CO)(2)(CNXyl)]O(3)SCF(3) (7), in which the edge-sharing bioctahedral cation [(XylNC)BrRe(&mgr;-Br)(&mgr;-CO)(&mgr;-dppm)(2)ReBr(CO)](+) has an all-cis arrangement of pi-acceptor ligands. The Re-Re distances in the structures of 4b', 5a, and 7 are 3.0456(8), 2.3792(7), and 2.5853(13) ?, respectively, and accord with formal Re-Re bond orders of 1, 3, and 2, respectively. The conversions of hexahydroxo rhenium cluster complexes [Re6Q8(OH)6]4- (Q=S, Se) in aqueous solutions in a wide pH range were investigated by chemical methods and spectroscopic measurements. Dependences of the spectroscopic and excited-state properties of the solutions on pH have been studied in detail. It has been found that a pH decrease of aqueous solutions of the potassium salts K4[Re6Q8(OH)6].8H2O (Q=S, Se) results in the formation of aquahydroxo and hexaaqua cluster complexes with the general formula [Re6Q8(H2O)n(OH)6-n]n-4 that could be considered as a result of the protonation of the terminal OH- ligands in the hexahydroxo complexes. The compounds K2[Re6S8(H2O)2(OH)4].2H2O (1), [Re6S8(H2O)4(OH)2].12H2O (2), [Re6S8(H2O)6][Re6S6Br8].10H2O (3), and [Re6Se8(H2O)4(OH)2] (4) have been isolated and characterized by X-ray single-crystal diffraction and elemental analyses and infrared (IR) spectroscopy. In crystal structures of the aquahydroxo complexes, the cluster units are connected to each other by an extensive system of very strong hydrogen bonds between terminal ligands.  相似文献

Interaction of the dilacunary polyanion precursor [gamma-GeW(10)O(36)](8-) with Fe(3+) ions in aqueous buffer medium (pH 4.8) results in the formation of two dimeric tungstogermanates depending on the reactant ratios. When using an Fe3+ to [gamma-GeW(10)O(36)](8-) ratio of 1:1, the asymmetric anion [K(H(2)O)(beta-Fe(2)GeW(10)O(37)(OH))(gamma-GeW(10)O(36))](12-) (1) is formed, whereas [{beta-Fe(2)GeW(10)O(37)(OH)2}2]12- (2) is formed when using a ratio of 2:1. Single-crystal X-ray analyses were carried out on Cs(3)K(9)[K(H(2)O)(beta-Fe(2)GeW(10)O(37)(OH))(gamma-GeW(10)O(36))].19H(2)O (CsK-1), which crystallizes in the triclinic system, space group P1, a = 11.4547(2), b = 19.9181(5), c = 21.0781(6) A, alpha = 66.7977(12), beta = 89.1061(12), gamma = 84.4457(11) degrees, and Z = 2 and on Cs(7)K(4)Na[{beta-Fe(2)GeW(10)O(37)(OH)(2)}(2)].39H(2)O (CsKNa-2), which crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group C2/m, a = 32.7569(13), b = 12.2631(5), c = 14.2895(5) A, beta = 104.135(2) degrees , and Z = 2. Polyanion 1 consists of (beta-Fe(2)GeW(10)O(37)) and (gamma-GeW(10)O(36)) units linked via two Fe-O-W bridges and a central potassium ion. Two equivalent FeO(6) octahedra complete the belt of the beta-Keggin unit and link to the (gamma-GeW(10)O(36)) fragment. On the other hand, 2 consists of two {beta-Fe(2)GeW(10)O(37)(OH)(2)} units with four bridging hydroxo groups linking the four Fe(3+) ions, forming an eight-membered ring. The magnetic properties of CsK-1 and CsKNa-2 have been studied by magnetic susceptibility and magnetization measurements and fitted according to an isotropic exchange model. Both polyanions 1 and 2 exhibit diamagnetic ground states with a small amount of paramagnetic impurity. Electrochemistry studies on 1 and 2 were carried out in a pH 5 acetate medium. The two polyanions have in common the simultaneous reduction of all of their Fe(3+) centers. This observation suggests the existence of identical or almost-identical influences on these centers and their equivalence, especially in the reduced state. Controlled potential coulometry results indicate the presence of two Fe(3+) centers in 1 and four in 2. The splitting of the tungsten wave of 1 compared to the single tungsten wave of 2 is attributed to a difference in acid-base properties of the polyanions. Voltammetric peak-potential shifts as a function of pH were studied in the case of 2.  相似文献
