This paper presents a new theory for calculating the transport of high-energy photons and their secondary charged particles. We call this new algorithm characteristic line method, which is completely analytic. Using this new method we cannot only accurately calculate the transport behaviour of energetic photons, but also precisely describes the transport behaviour and energy deposition of secondary electrons, photoelectrons, Compton recoil electrons and positron-electron pairs. Its calculation efficiency is much higher than that of the Monte Carlo method. The theory can be directly applied to layered media situation and obtain a pencil-beam-modelled solution. Therefore, it may be applied to clinical applications for radiation therapy.  相似文献

We study theoretically the low-temperature electronic transport property of a straight quantum wire under the irradiation of a finite-range transversely polarized external terahertz (THz) electromagnetic (EM) field. Using the freeelectron model and the scattering matrix approach, we show an unusual behaviour of the electronic transmission of this system. A sharp step-structure appears in the electronic transmission probability as the EM field strength increases to a threshold value when a coherent EM field is applied. We demonstrate that this effect physically comes from the inelastic scattering of electrons with lateral photons through intersubband transitions.  相似文献

A new mathematical method of measuring electron emission induced by low energy ions from solids is described and used to calculate secondary electron emission according to the recorded pulse-height spectra of ions and ultraviolet (UV) photons. Using the UV single secondary electron spectra, we predict the shape of many secondary electron distributions under consideration of detection efficiency of MCP detector. These calculated distributions allow us to characterize the secondary electrons yield, and to give a secondary electron distribution for measured data. It seems rather feasible to determine secondary electron yield emitted by low energy ions at very low ion uxes.  相似文献

We develop a model for heterogeneous nucleation catalyzed by oxidation on the droplet surface and the internal nucleation similar to surface oxidation. The fraction covered by oxide on the surface of the droplet is calculated as a function of time and temperature based on the chemical reaction dynamic and transition state theory, which is a reasonable expression for the oxidation behaviour of Sn-5wt.%Pb droplets. The continuous-cooling-transformation curves were computed using the above experimental results under the heterogeneous surface nucleation and the internal nucleation of droplets. Also, we predict the solidification behaviour of the droplet in gas-atomized spraying process using this model. The same model can be applied to predict the nucleation behaviour for any type of cooling schedule.  相似文献

A modified Hauser-Ernst-type linear system is established and used to develop an inverse scattering method for solving the motion equations of the string effective action describing the coupled gravity, dilaton and KalbRamond fields. The reduction procedures in this inverse scattering method are found to be fairly simple, which makes the proposed inverse scattering method applied fine and effective. As an application, a concrete family of soliton solutions for the considered theory is obtained.  相似文献

Our new method makes use of a CAD-based automatic modeling tool, MCAM, for geometry modeling and ray tracing of particle transport in method of characteristics (MOC). It was found that it could considerably enhance the capability of MOC to deal with more complicated models for neutron transport calculation. In our study, the diamond-difference scheme was applied to MOC to reduce the spatial discretization errors of the fiat flux approximation. Based on MCAM and MOC, a new 2D MOC code was developed and integrated into the SuperMC system, which is a Super Multi-function Computational system for neutronics and radiation simulation. The numerical results demonstrated the feasibility and effectiveness of the new method for neutron transport calculation in MOC.  相似文献

The lattice Boltzmann method is employed to study the electrical transport properties of saturated porous media.Electrical current flow through the porous media is simulated and the relationship between resistivity index and water saturation is derived. It is found that this kind of relation is not a straight line as described by the Archie equation with the parameter n being a constant in a log-log scale. A new equation is thus developed to formulate this relation with n being a function of porosity and water saturation. The comparisons between the results by lattice Boltzmann and by the laboratory experiments on rock samples demonstrate that this numerical method can provide an alternative way for the expensive laboratory experiments to investigate the electrical transport properties of saturated porous media and can be used to explore micro mechanisms more conveniently.  相似文献

In this paper the quantum transport through an Aharonov--Bohm (AB) quantum-dot-ring with two dot-array arms described by a single-band tight-binding Hamiltonian is investigated in the presence of additional magnetic fields applied to the dot-array arms to produce spin flip of electrons. A far richer interference pattern than that in the charge transport alone is found. Besides the usual AB oscillation the tunable spin polarization of the current by the magnetic flux is a new observation and is seen to be particularly useful in technical applications. The spectrum of transmission probability is modulated by the quantum dot numbers on the up-arc and down-arc of the ring, which, however, does not affect the period of the AB oscillation.  相似文献

Many-particle QED is applied to kinetic theory of radiative processes in many-component plasmas with relativistic electrons and non-relativistic heavy particles. Within the framework of non-equilibrium Green’s function technique, transport and mass-shell equations for fluctuations of the electromagnetic field are obtained. We show that the transverse field correlation functions can be decomposed into sharply peaked (non-Lorentzian) parts that describe resonant (propagating) photons and off-shell parts corresponding to virtual photons in plasmas. Analogous decompositions are found for the longitudinal field correlation functions and the correlation functions of relativistic electrons. As a novel result a kinetic equation for the resonant photons with a finite spectral width is derived. The off-shell parts of the particle and field correlation functions are shown to be essential to calculate the local radiating power in relativistic plasmas and recover the results of vacuum QED. The influence of plasma effects and collisional broadening of the relativistic quasiparticle spectral function on radiative processes is discussed.  相似文献

The secondary electrons produced by penetrating X-rays and gamma rays move preferentially in the forward direction. In an insulator absorption of the photon beam is therefore accompanied by an electron current. The current can be measured by a suitable receiver that collects the electrons and absorbs the photons. In this paper an approximate expression for the Compton current is established. Results of preliminary measurements are given and found to be in satisfactory agreement with the theory.  相似文献

为了实现高度准直同时较好地保留飞层界面信息,针对高能闪光照相实验中常用的准直技术,改进了设计方法,以法国实验客体(FTO)为例,利用蒙特卡罗程序对光子电子耦合输运过程进行数值模拟实验,验证了所提出的准直器的性能,对采用该准直器技术下的模拟照相结果进行了准直器光程扣除方法研究,结果表明:改进的准直器将客体芯部区域的散射照射量降低99.8%,接收平面处的客体信号动态范围降低99.7%,同时在图像中完整地保留了客体外界面信息;对准直器轴向分层照相的方法可以获得误差小于0.1的客体光程。  相似文献

The theory of coherent excitation of then=3 level of atomic hydrogen by electron impact is studied using density matrix techniques. A set of multipole parameters is defined which allows to characterise coherently excited states with different angular momenta. Numerical results of these parameters, calculated in first order Born approximation, are tabulated for several energies and angles. Angular distribution and polarization of Balmer-α radiation are expressed in terms of the initial multipole parameters for the case that scattered electrons and emitted photons are detected in coincidence. The theory of cascade effects is briefly considered and applied to the case where scattered electrons and Lyman-α photons are detected in coincidence, generalising earlier formulations. Most of the formulas presented here are quite general and can be applied, for example, to an analysis of light emitted by beam foil excited hydrogenic levels.  相似文献

A scintillation counter telescope has been flown in the upper atmosphere at2.4g/cm2 from Bergen/Lüneburger Heide for the measurement of electrons and photons of the secondary cosmic radiation. The aim was to get the differential energy spectra of secondary photons in an energy range from 1 to 44 MeV and of secondary and return albedo electrons from 2 to 35 MeV for three different zenith angles (0 °, 90 ° and 180 °). The received photon spectrum is in good agreement to the results of other authors as well to lower as to higher energies. It has been shown, that the spectrum has a great anisotropy with a maximum of intensity around the horizon. The main reason therefore is the atmospheric deepness in the different directions. In this energy range we have found that the Bremsstrahlung of the return albedo electrons is the main reason for the photon flux and secondly the π0-decay. The measured electron spectra don't show any significant difference relative to the three zenith angles. These secondary electrons are produced isotropically in the upper atmosphere and they consist of a mixture of secondary and return albedo electrons.  相似文献
