The spontaneous fission of 252Cf has been studied via γ-γ-γ coincidence and γ-γ light charged particle coincidence with Gammasphere. The binary fission yields of correlated Mo?Ba pairs with 0–10 neutron emission have been remeasured. The existence of “hot” fission mode with 8–10 neutron emission seen previously in the Mo?Ba split is confirmed but with lower intensities. By gating on the light charged particles detected in ΔE-E detectors and a γ ray in one partner, the relative yields of correlated pairs in alpha ternary SF with zero to 6n emission are observed for the first time with the distribution peaked at 2.5n. New correlated pairs are identified in 10Be ternary SF. We observed essentially only cold, On 10Be and little, if any, hot, xn 10Be. New γ-γ-γ data with 2.3 times the total events show weak non-Doppler broadened high energy peaks in coincidence with transitions in correlated pairs in 10Be SF shifted by the same 6,1 to 26 keV from the 2-0 energy in 10Be as seen earlier.  相似文献

The spontaneous fission (SF) of 252Cf has been studied via γ-γ-γ coincidence and light charged particle—γ-γ coincidence with Gammasphere. The yields of correlated Mo-Ba pairs in binary fission with 0–10 neutron emission have been remeasured with an uncompressed cube. The previous hot fission mode with 8–10 neutron emission seen in the Mo-Ba split is found to be smaller than earlier results but still present. New 0n binary SF yields are reported. By gating on the light charged particles detected in ΔE-E detectors and γ-γ coincidence with Gammasphere, the relative yields of correlated pairs in alpha ternary fission with zero to 6n emission are observed for the first time. The peak occurs around the α2n channel. A number of correlated pairs are identified in ternary fission with 10Be as the light charged particle. We observed only cold, 0n 10Be and little, if any, hot, xn 10Be channels.  相似文献

Relativistic effects can explain the energy shift of - 6 keV reported by Ramayya et al. for the -ray de-exciting the first 2 + state, at 3368.03 keV, of the 10Be cluster emitted together with the fragments 146Ba and 96Sr in the ternary fission of 252Cf; the calculated shift is equal to -6.14 (0.16) keV. An explanation is presented for the apparent absence of Doppler broadening. The fission yield data in the 14 MeV energy neutron induced fission of 238U play an important role in decay heat calculations and generation-IV reactor designs. In order to accurately measure fission product yields (FPYs) of 238U induced by 14 MeV neutrons, the cumulative yields of fission products ranging from 92Sr to 147Nd in the 238U(n, f) reaction with a 14.7 MeV neutron were determined using an off-line γ-ray spectrometric technique. The 14.7 MeV quasi-monoenergetic neutron beam was provided by the K-400 D-T neutron generator at China Academy of Engineering Physics (CAEP). Fission products were measured by a low background high purity germanium gamma spectrometer. The neutron flux was obtained from the 93Nb (n, 2n)92mNb reaction, and the mean neutron energy was calculated using the cross-section ratios for the 90Zr(n, 2n)89Zr and 93Nb(n, 2n)92mNb reactions. With a series of corrections, high precision cumulative yields of 20 fission products were obtained. Our FPYs for the 238U(n, f) reaction at 14.7 MeV were compared with the existing experimental nuclear reaction data and evaluated nuclear data, respectively. The results will be helpful in the design of a generation-IV reactor and the construction of evaluated fission yield databases.  相似文献

An activation technique was used to investigate relative yields of fission products from the reaction 232Th(n, f ) for neutron energies between 1.3 and 1.8MeV covering the region around the first hyperdeformed resonances. Intensities of characteristic γ-ray transitions were analyzed to search for changes in the mass distribution for neutron energies corresponding to the resonances and below the resonances. Relative increases in yield between 7 and 23% are observed for A ≈ 100 and 132 in the resonance region around 1.6MeV. It is proposed that the yield enhancement of daughter nuclei of the preformed fragments 132Sn and 101Zr arises from cold fission of a di-cluster configuration. The experimental results support theoretical predictions for the existence of hyperdeformed octupole shapes based on the di-nuclear configuration 132Sn + 101Zr.  相似文献

The ternary system with a light nucleus between two heavy fragments is assumed to appear from the binary configuration near scission. The formation of a third light nucleus in the binary system is considered. The calculated charge distributions in spontaneous ternary fission of 252Cf and in induced ternary fission of 56Ni are compared with the available experimental data. The neutron multiplicity from the fission fragments is described. The fine structures of the TKE-mass distribution are predicted.  相似文献

The yields and energy spectra of light charged particles emitted in the fission of235U have been measured in the neutron energy range of 100 keV to 1 MeV. The yield of long range alpha particles is found to increase around 200 keV neutron energy compared to thermal fission. A low energy component observed in the energy spectrum was assigned to the tritons emitted in fission. The yield of this triton component is seen to have a marked increase around 500 keV. These results indicate that LCP yield is influenced by the transition state level characteristics.  相似文献

The angular distribution of neutrons emitted by elastic, inelastic and fission processes on235U were measured at the incident neutron energies of 1.5, 1.9, 2.3, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0 and 5.5 MeV using nanosecond time-of-flight technique. The differential elastic scattering cross sections and their angular distributions at all the seven energies are presented. The total elastic scattering cross sections, angle and energy integrated cross sections for the inelastically scattered neutrons in energy bands of 200 keV, fission cross sections and the angular distributions of fission neutrons were extracted at 1.5, 1.9 and 2.3 MeV incident neutron energies. The energy distributions of the prompt fission neutrons and of the inelastically scattered neutrons are given at the incoming neutron energies of 1.5, 1.9 and 2.3 MeV; and the average fission neutron energies and the inelastic neutron evaporation temperatures were also evaluated at these energies.  相似文献

The halo nuclei 11Be and 11Li have been studied in core-breakup reactions where the halo neutrons are expected to be released without a major distortion due to the reaction. The widths of the halo-neutron momentum distributions have been extracted in coincidence with He fragments, Γ = 32 ± 4 MeV/c, and Li fragments, Γ = 42 ± 4 MeV/c for 11Be and with He fragments, Γ = 42 ± 6 MeV/c for 11Li. The 11Be breakup gives a very low neutron multiplicity of 0.38±0.09 which is a manifestation of the shadowing of the neutron in the core-breakup reaction. This value can be understood from a simple theoretical calculation, which also accounts for the observed transverse momentum widths at small angles.  相似文献

Excitation functions for α-emission leading to the ground and first excited states of 26Mg and 8Be emission leading to the ground and first and second excited states of 22Ne have been measured at several forward angles for Ec.m. = 15 to 22.4 MeV. There is little evidence for correlated structure. The angular distribution at 16.5 MeV for the α + 26Mg(g.s.) channel is rather structureless while that for the 8Be+22Ne(g.s.) channel appears to be dominated by a J = 13 contribution. Statistical model calculations indicate that much of the yield for both the α and 8Be exit channel is compound nuclear in origin, with some indication of a larger direct contribution for the 8Be channel at the lower end of the bombarding energy range.  相似文献

The pre-scission and post-scission multiplicities of alpha particles were determined in coincidence with fission fragments for four windows of exit channel mass asymmetry in the reaction 20Ne+165Ho at 50A MeV. The technique used employed a kinematic analysis of the energy spectra of alpha particles as a function of the emission angle with respect to the fission axis. Using a procedure of fitting the experimental energy spectra with those resulting from a Monte Carlo simulation program, the total multiplicity of alpha particles was separated into pre-scission and post-scission components. Using the pre-scission and post-scission multiplicities, neutron multiplicity measurements and other empirical observations, both the initial excitation energy and the excitation energy at scission of the compound nucleus were determined. The pre-scission times in the de-excitation of a highly excited 178W compound nucleus with initial excition energy of 570 MeV were evaluated using statistical model calculations. Only a small decrease in scission time was derived for the most asymmetric events studied. The possible contribution of very damped deep inelastic processes is discussed.  相似文献

The primary and the secondary fragment mass yields and neutron multiplicity in the 11.5MeV proton-induced fission of 233U were determined by a double time-of-flight method. The most probable charges of the secondary fragments in the isobaric chains with A = 126 , 127, 129, 132, and 136 have been derived from the secondary mass yields together with the literature values of the fractional cumulative and independent yields measured radiochemically. The nuclear-charge polarization of primary fragments at scission was obtained by correcting the secondary fragment mass for neutron evaporation. The results show that the nuclear-charge polarization is mostly determined by the minimum potential energy of nuclei at scission and that this behavior is nearly independent not only of mass and excitation energy but also of neutron-to-proton ratios of the fissioning nuclei.  相似文献

The neutron-neutron angular correlation for neutrons with energies ? 1 MeV emitted in thermal-neutron-induced fission of 235U has been measured. The correlation could be adequately described by a simple model, assuming isotropic neutron emission in the fully accelerated fragment frames together with a 20% isotropic scission component and using binomial distributions to simulate the neutron multiplicity (instead of the usual gaussian form) for each fission fragment. Quaternary fission is a nuclear reaction where the two customary fragments from fission are accompanied by two light charged particles. The process has been investigated at the ILL, Grenoble, for thermal neutron induced fission of 233U and 235U. The light particles were identified to be α particles and H isotopes (mostly tritons). Two different types of processes could be disentangled: in one of these processes all four charged particles are born in coincidence while the second process is in fact merely a special case of ternary fission where the ternary particle decays into two charged particles before reaching the detectors.  相似文献

Pre- and post-scission neutron multiplicities have been measured as a function of fission mass-split for the reactions of 105 and 120 MeV 19F with 232Th. The post-scission multiplicities show no evidence for persistence of the sawtooth yield observed for spontaneous fission of 252Cf; the dependence on mass-split is not consistent with the random neck rupture model. The pre-scission multiplicities show no evidence of quasi-fission for asymmetric mass-splits. It is proposed that pre-scission neutron multiplicity measurements should be a useful tool in studying quasi-fission produced by reactions with heavier projectiles.  相似文献

研制了狭缝-外延式高灵敏大面积PIN裂变中子探测系统. 其对14MeV,2.5MeV中子灵敏度可达10-16C·cm2,比原有典型的脉冲裂变中子探测系统高4个量级. 采用外延式铅狭缝准直结构,研制灵敏区尺寸为60mm,厚度为200μm—300μm的大面积PIN半导体探测器、以Be膜为衬底,有效直径为60的235U裂变靶,解决了该探测器研制中的高灵敏度和n/γ分辨难题. 该系统已在实践中获得成功应用. 关键词: 裂变中子探测系统 大面积PIN探测器 大面积裂变靶 高灵敏探测系统  相似文献

Ternary events in the thermal neutron induced fission of 241Pu(n,f) were studied with the recoil separator LOHENGRIN at the high-flux reactor of the Institut Laue Langevin in Grenoble. Yields and energy distributions could be determined for most isotopes of the elements hydrogen to oxygen. Also several heavier nuclei up to 30Mg could be observed. Yields were measured for 42 isotopes, for further 17 isotopes upper limits could be deduced. For the first time the halo nuclei 11Li, 14Be and 19C were found in neutron induced fission with yields of some 10−10 per fission.  相似文献

The neutron deficient nucleus82Zr has been studied through the reaction58Ni(28Si, 2p 2n)82Zr with a calculated cross section of 0.3% of the total fusion cross section atE(28Si)=128 MeV. Gamma rays from excited states of82Zr were measured and identified using the NORDBALL escape-suppression array at the Niels Bohr Institute. Reaction channel selection was performed by use of neutron and charged particle detector arrays in conjunction with the germanium detectors. A rotational band in82Zr has been identified with spins up to 20 ? by analysis of reaction channel selectedγ-γ coincidence matrices. Studies by means of 155 MeV 27Al bombardment on a 130Te target revealed in 148Eu high-spin structures up to spin 31?, in addition to a cascade extended to the 11088.1 keV excitation.
