Spectrum modification and damping of Josephson plasma waves induced by random inhomogeneities of the critical current through the superconductor contact and the averaged Green function of such excitations are analyzed. In the self-consistent approximation that makes it possible to take into account multiple wave scattering on the inhomogeneities, the frequency and damping of averaged waves, as well as position ν m and peak width Δν of the Fourier transform imaginary part of the averaged Green function, are determined as functions of wavevector k. The evolution of such functions with the variation of the correlation radius and the relative r.m.s. fluctuations of inhomogeneities is studied. The inhomogeneity-induced wave frequency decrease observed in the long wavelength spectral region qualitatively agrees with the ν m behavior. It is established that in the case of “long-range” inhomogeneities, the linear dependence of damping on k changes to the inversely proportional one, and damping tends to zero as k → 0, while Δν at small k attains its maximal values due to nonuniform broadening. In the presence of “short-range” inhomogeneities, the wave damping and Δν are found to be similar functions of k. The results are compared to the numerical calculation data.  相似文献

The modification of the spectrum and damping of bulk plasma waves due to three-dimensional random inhomogeneities of the density of a degenerate electron gas in a conductor have been investigated using the averaged Green??s function method. The dependences of the frequency and damping of the averaged plasma waves, as well as the position ?? m and width ???? of the peak of the imaginary part of the Fourier trans-form of the averaged Green??s function, on the wave vector k have been determined in the self-consistent approximation, which makes it possible to take into account multiple scattering of plasma waves by inhomogeneities. It has been found that, in the long-wavelength region of the spectrum, the decrease revealed in the frequency of the plasma waves is caused by the inhomogeneities, which agrees qualitatively with the behavior of the position of the peak ?? m . In the range of large values of the correlation length of inhomogeneities and small values of k, the damping of the plasma waves tends to zero, whereas the width of the peak ???? remains finite, which is due to the nonuniform broadening. A comparison with the data of numerical calculations has been performed.  相似文献

We investigate the propagation regions of electromagnetic plane waves with negative phase velocity in the ergosphere of static charged black strings. For such a propagation, some conditions for negative phase velocity are established that depend on the metric components and the choice of the octant. We conclude that these conditions remain unaffected by the negative values of the cosmological constant.  相似文献

A study is made of fluxon motion in a long Josephson junction with a local inhomogeneity (microresistor) in the presence of an alternating external current. Nonlinear resonances in the fluxon dynamics are considered. The electromagnetic radiation produced by the single moving Josephson vortex in the inhomogeneous junction has been theoretically considered. We experimentally demonstrate the occurrence of negative absolute resistance (NAR) up to about -1 Omega in response to an externally applied dc current for a shunted Nb-Al/AlO_{x}-Nb Josephson junction, exposed to a microwave current at frequencies in the GHz range. The realization (or not) of NAR depends crucially on the amplitude of the applied microwave current. Theoretically, the system is described by means of the resistively and capacitively shunted junction model in terms of a moderately damped, classical Brownian particle dynamics in a one-dimensional potential. We find excellent agreement of the experimental results with numerical simulations of the model.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the effective solution for Rayleigh-type waves in a randomly inhomogeneous layer overlying a homogeneous half-space. The considerations are confined to the correlation theory. The method is based on the idea of a fundamental matrix for the system of differential equations. By using the Bourret approximation the system of coupled two second-order integro-differential equations for the average displacements is obtained. This system is solved by Laplace transform. By using boundary and continuity conditions the particular solution is obtained.  相似文献

For the stationary problem there are three regions of sufficiently different behaviour of the wavefield intensity moments inside a weakly dissipative medium. For the non-stationary problem they succeeded in calculating the average intensity at t→+∞ by means of analytical prolongation of the stationary problem solution with respect to the absorption parameter. The time asymptotic of the averaged intensity on the boundary slab is also obtained for a finite-thickness slab.  相似文献

We investigate Josephson coupling through a ferromagnetic thin film using superconductor-insulator-ferromagnet-superconductor planar junctions. Damped oscillations of the critical current are observed as a function of the ferromagnetic layer thickness. We show that they result from the exchange energy gained or lost by a quasiparticle Andreev-reflected at the ferromagnet-superconductor interface. The critical current cancels out at the transition from positive ("0") to negative ("pi") coupling, in agreement with theoretical calculations.  相似文献
