Diassociative algebras form a category of algebras recently introduced by Loday. A diassociative algebra is a vector space endowed with two associative binary operations satisfying some very natural relations. Any diassociative algebra is an algebra over the diassociative operad, and, among its most notable properties, this operad is the Koszul dual of the dendriform operad. We introduce here, by adopting the point of view and the tools offered by the theory of operads, a generalization on a nonnegative integer parameter γ of diassociative algebras, called γ-pluriassociative algebras, so that 1-pluriassociative algebras are diassociative algebras. Pluriassociative algebras are vector spaces endowed with 2γ associative binary operations satisfying some relations. We provide a complete study of the γ-pluriassociative operads, the underlying operads of the category of γ-pluriassociative algebras. We exhibit a realization of these operads, establish several presentations by generators and relations, compute their Hilbert series, show that they are Koszul, and construct the free objects in the corresponding categories. We also study several notions of units in γ-pluriassociative algebras and propose a general way to construct such algebras. This paper ends with the introduction of an analogous generalization of the triassociative operad of Loday and Ronco.  相似文献

It is well known that the forgetful functor from symmetric operads to nonsymmetric operads has a left adjoint Sym1 given by product with the symmetric group operad. It is also well known that this functor does not affect the category of algebras of the operad. From the point of view of the author's theory of higher operads, the nonsymmetric operads are 1-operads and Sym1 is the first term of the infinite series of left adjoint functors Symn, called symmetrisation functors, from n-operads to symmetric operads with the property that the category of one object, one arrow, …, one (n−1)-arrow algebras of an n-operad A is isomorphic to the category of algebras of Symn(A).In this paper we consider some geometrical and homotopical aspects of the symmetrisation of n-operads. We follow Getzler and Jones and consider their decomposition of the Fulton-Macpherson operad of compactified real configuration spaces. We construct an n-operadic counterpart of this compactification which we call the Getzler-Jones operad. We study the properties of Getzler-Jones operad and find that it is contractible and cofibrant in an appropriate model category. The symmetrisation of the Getzler-Jones operad turns out to be exactly the operad of Fulton and Macpherson. These results should be considered as an extension of Stasheff's theory of 1-fold loop spaces to n-fold loop spaces n?2. We also show that a space X with an action of a contractible n-operad has a natural structure of an algebra over an operad weakly equivalent to the little n-disks operad. A similar result holds for chain operads. These results generalise the classical Eckman-Hilton argument to arbitrary dimension.Finally, we apply the techniques to the Swiss-Cheese type operads introduced by Voronov and prove analogous results in this case.  相似文献

Dendriform algebras form a category of algebras recently introduced by Loday. A dendriform algebra is a vector space endowed with two nonassociative binary operations satisfying some relations. Any dendriform algebra is an algebra over the dendriform operad, the Koszul dual of the diassociative operad. We introduce here, by adopting the point of view and the tools offered by the theory of operads, a generalization on a nonnegative integer parameter γ of dendriform algebras, called γ-polydendriform algebras, so that 1-polydendriform algebras are dendriform algebras. For that, we consider the operads obtained as the Koszul duals of the γ-pluriassociative operads introduced by the author in a previous work. In the same manner as dendriform algebras are suitable devices to split associative operations into two parts, γ-polydendriform algebras seem adapted structures to split associative operations into 2γ operation so that some partial sums of these operations are associative. We provide a complete study of the γ-polydendriform operads, the underlying operads of the category of γ-polydendriform algebras. We exhibit several presentations by generators and relations, compute their Hilbert series, and construct free objects in the corresponding categories. We also provide consistent generalizations on a nonnegative integer parameter of the duplicial, triassociative and tridendriform operads, and of some operads of the operadic butterfly.  相似文献

The classical Eckmann-Hilton argument shows that two monoid structures on a set, such that one is a homomorphism for the other, coincide and, moreover, the resulting monoid is commutative. This argument immediately gives a proof of the commutativity of the higher homotopy groups. A reformulation of this argument in the language of higher categories is: suppose we have a one object, one arrow 2-category, then its Hom-set is a commutative monoid. A similar argument due to A. Joyal and R. Street shows that a one object, one arrow tricategory is ‘the same’ as a braided monoidal category.In this paper we begin to investigate how one can extend this argument to arbitrary dimension. We provide a simple categorical scheme which allows us to formalise the Eckmann-Hilton type argument in terms of the calculation of left Kan extensions in an appropriate 2-category. Then we apply this scheme to the case of n-operads in the author's sense and classical symmetric operads. We demonstrate that there exists a functor of symmetrisation Symn from a certain subcategory of n-operads to the category of symmetric operads such that the category of one object, one arrow, … , one (n−1)-arrow algebras of A is isomorphic to the category of algebras of Symn(A). Under some mild conditions, we present an explicit formula for Symn(A) which involves taking the colimit over a remarkable categorical symmetric operad.We will consider some applications of the methods developed to the theory of n-fold loop spaces in the second paper of this series.  相似文献

We describe a model structure for coloured operads with values in the category of symmetric spectra (with the positive model structure), in which fibrations and weak equivalences are defined at the level of the underlying collections. This allows us to treat R-module spectra (where R is a cofibrant ring spectrum) as algebras over a cofibrant spectrum-valued operad with R as its first term. Using this model structure, we give sufficient conditions for homotopical localizations in the category of symmetric spectra to preserve module structures.  相似文献

We give a new construction of the algebraic K-theory of small permutative categories that preserves multiplicative structure, and therefore allows us to give a unified treatment of rings, modules, and algebras in both the input and output. This requires us to define multiplicative structure on the category of small permutative categories. The framework we use is the concept of multicategory (elsewhere also called colored operad), a generalization of symmetric monoidal category that precisely captures the multiplicative structure we have present at all stages of the construction. Our method ends up in the Hovey-Shipley-Smith category of symmetric spectra, with an intermediate stop at a category of functors out of a particular wreath product.  相似文献

We review several well-known operads of compactified configuration spaces and construct several new such operads, [`(C)]\bar C, in the category of smooth manifolds with corners whose complexes of fundamental chains give us (i) the 2-coloured operad of A -algebras and their homotopy morphisms, (ii) the 2-coloured operad of L -algebras and their homotopy morphisms, and (iii) the 4-coloured operad of openclosed homotopy algebras and their homotopy morphisms. Two gadgets — a (coloured) operad of Feynman graphs and a de Rham field theory on [`(C)]\bar C — are introduced and used to construct quantized representations of the (fundamental) chain operad of [`(C)]\bar C which are given by Feynman type sums over graphs and depend on choices of propagators.  相似文献

The operad Lie can be constructed as the operad of primitives PrimAs from the operad As of associative algebras. This is reflected by the theorems of Friedrichs, Poincaré-Birkhoff-Witt and Cartier-Milnor-Moore. We replace the operad As by families of free operads P, which include the operad Mag freely generated by a non-commutative non-associative binary operation and the operad of Stasheff polytopes. We obtain Poincaré-Birkhoff-Witt type theorems and collect information about the operads PrimP, e.g., in terms of characteristic functions.  相似文献

We show that the class of varieties of multioperator superalgebras, defined by multilinear identities and considered up to rational equivalence, coincides with the class of varieties of superalgebras over an operad. We define the concepts of Grassmann and Clifford envelopes in the most general case and study their properties. We define the concept of module over a superalgebra over an operad and the concept of universal enveloping superalgebra for an algebra over an operad and study their properties.  相似文献

The aim of this article is to give a criterion, generalizing the criterion introduced by Priddy for algebras, to prove that an operad is Koszul. We define the notion of Poincaré–Birkhoff–Witt basis in the context of operads. Then we show that an operad having a Poincaré–Birkhoff–Witt basis is Koszul. Besides, we obtain that the Koszul dual operad has also a Poincaré–Birkhoff–Witt basis. We check that the classical examples of Koszul operads (commutative, associative, Lie, Poisson) have a Poincaré–Birkhoff–Witt basis. We also prove by our methods that new operads are Koszul.  相似文献

We consider a couple of versions of the classical Kurosh problem (whether there is an infinite-dimensional algebraic algebra) for varieties of linear multioperator algebras over a field. We show that, given an arbitrary signature, there is a variety of algebras of this signature such that the free algebra of the variety contains polylinear elements of arbitrarily large degree, while the clone of every such element satisfies some nontrivial identity. If, in addition, the number of binary operations is at least 2, then each such clone may be assumed to be finite-dimensional. Our approach is the following: we cast the problem in the language of operads and then apply the usual homological constructions in order to adopt Golod’s solution to the original Kurosh problem. This paper is expository, so that some proofs are omitted. At the same time, the general relations of operads, algebras, and varieties are widely discussed.  相似文献

In this paper we extend categorically the notion of a finite nilpotent group to fusion categories. To this end, we first analyze the trivial component of the universal grading of a fusion category C, and then introduce the upper central series of C. For fusion categories with commutative Grothendieck rings (e.g., braided fusion categories) we also introduce the lower central series. We study arithmetic and structural properties of nilpotent fusion categories, and apply our theory to modular categories and to semisimple Hopf algebras. In particular, we show that in the modular case the two central series are centralizers of each other in the sense of M. Müger.  相似文献

A general notion of operad is given, which includes: (1) the operads that arose in algebraic topology in the 1970s to characterise loop spaces. (2) the higher operads of Michael Batanin [4] (3) braided and symmetric analogues of Batanin’s operads which are likely to be important in the study of weakly symmetric higher dimensional monoidal categories. This paper gives a systematic study of matching dialgebras corresponding to the operad As (2) in Zinbiel (2012) as the only Koszul self dual operad there other than the operads of associative algebras and Poisson algebras. The close relationship of matching dialgebras with semi-homomorphisms and matched pairs of associative algebras are established. By anti-symmetrizing, matching dialgerbas are also shown to give compatible Lie algebras, pre-Lie algebras and PostLie algebras. By the rewriting method, the operad of matching dialgebras is shown to be Koszul and the free objects are constructed in terms of tensor algebras. The operadic complex computing the homology of the matching dialgebras is made explicit.  相似文献

We present notions of module over a universal algebra, and linear representation of a universal algebra, which have gained currency with categorical algebraists, we give several intriguing examples of these objects, showing that important aspects of universal algebras can be studied in this context, and we describe the theory ofenveloping ringoids, which have categories of left modules equivalent to corresponding categories of modules and linear representations. Algebras in many of the familiar varieties of algebras, which have underlying groups, turn out to have enveloping ringoids that are equivalent to familiar rings. Abstract

The so called dense pairings were studied mainly by Radford in his work on coreflexive coalegbras over fields. They were generalized in a joint paper with Gómez-Torricillas and Lobillo to the so called rational pairings over a commutative ground ring R to study the interplay between the comodules of an R-coalgebra C and the modules of an R-algebra A that admits an R-algebra morphism κ : A → C*. Such pairings, satisfying the so called α-condition, were called in the author's dissertation measuring α-pairings and can be considered as the corner stone in his study of duality theorems for Hopf algebras over commutative rings. In this paper we lay the basis of the theory of rational modules of corings extending results on rational modules for coalgebras to the case of arbitrary ground rings. We apply these results mainly to categories of entwined modules (e.g., Doi-Koppinen modules, alternative Doi-Koppinen modules) generalizing results of Doi, Koppinen, Menini et al.  相似文献

The algebraic theory of one-generator matrix algebras and applications to circulants and some related algebras are presented. The theory of symmetric functions plays an important role. It is known that elements in the cohomology of groups and in the Hochschild cohomology of algebras are represented by crossed extensions. We introduce the notion of crossed modules and crossed extensions for algebras over operads and obtain in this way an operadic version of Hochschild cohomology. We discuss properties of Yetter-Drinfeld modules over weak bialgebras over commutative rings. The categories of left-left, left-right, right-left and right-right Yetter-Drinfeld modules over a weak Hopf algebra are isomorphic as braided monoidal categories. Yetter-Drinfeld modules can be viewed as weak Doi-Hopf modules, and, a fortiori, as weak entwined modules. IfH is finitely generated and projective, then we introduce the Drinfeld double using duality results between entwining structures and smash product structures, and show that the category of Yetter-Drinfeld modules is isomorphic to the category of modules over the Drinfeld double. The category of finitely generated projective Yetter-Drinfeld modules over a weak Hopf algebra has duality.  相似文献
