The equation of material momentum, or pseudomomentum, is obtained for thermoelastic materials. This is done in the classic theory, based on the heat conduction hypothesis, and also in the framework of a thermoelasticity approach involving no dissipation of energy, as recently proposed by Green and Naghdi. The results are applied to the thermoelastic fracture problem. When the pseudomomentum equation is written in global form, for a fractured body, it provides path-domain invariant expressions for the thermoelastic energy-release rate.Dedicated to the memory of Paul M. In this work we consider the problem of a thermoelastic half-space with a permeating substance in contact with the bounding plane in the context of the theory of generalized thermoelastic diffusion with one relaxation time. The bounding surface of the half-space is taken to be traction free and subjected to a time dependent thermal shock. The chemical potential is also assumed to be a known function of time on the bounding plane. Laplace transform techniques are used. The solution is obtained in the Laplace transform domain by using a direct approach. The solution of the problem in the physical domain is obtained numerically using a numerical method for the inversion of the Laplace transform based on Fourier expansion techniques.The temperature, displacement, stress and concentration as well as the chemical potential are obtained. Numerical computations are carried out and represented graphically.  相似文献

In this work, we study a one-dimensional problem in a generalized thermoelastic diffusion in infinite medium with a spherical cavity subjected to a time dependent thermal shock of its internal boundary which is assumed to be traction free. The chemical potential is also assumed to be a known function of time on the bounding cavity. Laplace transform techniques are used. The solution of the problem in the transformed domain is obtained by using a direct approach without the customary use of potential functions. By means of numerical Laplace inversion, the problem is solved in the physical domain. Numerical results predict finite speeds of propagation for thermoelastic and diffusive waves. To investigate the diffusions effects, a comparison is made with the results obtained in the thermoelastic problem.  相似文献

The present problem is the deformation of micropolar thermoelastic solids with cubic symmetry under the influence of various sources acting on the plane surface. Analytic expressions for displacement components, microrotation, force stress, couple stress, and temperature distribution are obtained in the physical domain for Lord–Shulman (L–S) and Green–Lindsay (G–L) theories of thermoelasticity by applying integral transforms. A numerical inversion technique has been applied to obtain the solution in the physical domain. The numerical results are presented graphically for a particular model.  相似文献

The thermoelastic problem of laser exposure of metals and dielectrics is studied taking into account the finite speed of propagation of thermal waves and using a numerical finite-difference algorithm. The resulting numerical solution is compared with the analytical one. The problem is solved in coupled and uncoupled formulations. The solutions of the hyperbolic thermoelastic problem are compared with the solutions of the classical problem. Analytical expressions are obtained for the propagation speeds of the thermoelastic wave components. Times are determined at which the difference between the solutions of the hyperbolic and classical thermoelastic problems can be detected experimentally.  相似文献

计及材料物性与温度的相关性,基于Green-Naghdi能量无耗散广义热弹性理论(G-N II理论),对热冲击下具有变物性特征材料的热弹性响应进行了求解分析。借助Laplace正、反变换技术以及Krichhoff变换,在热物性参数随真实温度呈线性规律的前提下,推导了半无限大体受热冲击作用时热弹性响应的解析表达式,通过求解分析,得到了热冲击下热波、热弹性波的传播规律,位移场、温度场以及应力场的分布情况,以及物性随温度相关性对热弹性响应的影响效果。结果表明:当考虑材料物性随温度的变化时,热波、热弹性波的传播以及各物理场的分布均受到不同程度的影响,且物性随温度相关性对热弹性响应的作用效果将受到材料热-力耦合特性的影响。  相似文献

The problem of finite wave propagation in a nonlinearly thermoelastic half-space is considered. The surface of the half-space is subjected to a time-dependent thermal and normal mechanical loading. The solution is obtained by a numerical procedure, which is shown to furnish accurate results, and linear dynamic thermoelastic problems are obtained as special cases. The accuracy of the results is checked by comparison with some known analytical solutions which can be obtained in some special cases of both the linear and the nonlinear problems. In those cases where the solution contains shocks, it is shown that the numerical results satisfy the necessary jumps conditions which need to hold across such discontinuities.  相似文献

A numerical solution is obtained for the steady-state thermoelastic contact problem in which heat is conducted between two elastic bodies of dissimilar materials at different temperatures with arbitrary quadratic profiles. Thermoelastic deformation causes the initially elliptical contact area to be reduced in size and to become more nearly circular as the temperature difference is increased. There is also a small but identifiable deviation from exact ellipticity at intermediate temperature differences. An approximate analytical solution is obtained, based on approximating the contact area by an ellipse.  相似文献

An analytical solution of the problem of the propagation of a plane sound wave through a discretely inhomogeneous thermoelastic layer adjacent to inviscid heat-conducting liquids is obtained. Results of calculations of the dependences of the transmission coefficient on the wave incidence angle and frequency for discretely inhomogeneous and continuously inhomogeneous thermoelastic layers are given. It is shown that a thermoelastic layer with continuously inhomogeneous thickness can be simulated using a system of homogeneous thermoelastic layers.  相似文献

为了得到精确的应力场、位移场、温度场,将扭转圆轴的精化理论研究方法推广到轴对称横观各向同性热弹性圆柱。利用Bessel函数以及轴对称横观各向同性热弹性圆柱的通解,给出了轴对称横观各向同性热弹性圆柱的分解定理。根据柱面齐次边界条件获得了精确的精化方程,精化方程可以分解为一阶方程、超越方程、温度方程,从而将横观各向同性热弹性圆柱的轴对称问题分解为轴向拉压问题、超越问题、热-应力耦合问题。超越部分对应端部自平衡情况,可以清晰地了解到端部应力分布对内部应力场的影响,热-应力耦合部分对应无外加应力场时圆柱内部因温度变化引起的热应力。  相似文献

In recent years, different fields of engineering have been increasingly incorporating functionally graded materials with variable physical properties that significantly improve a quality of elements of designs. The efficiency of practical application of thermoelastic inhomogeneous materials depends on knowledge of exact laws of heterogeneity, and to define them it is necessary to solve coefficient inverse problems of thermoelasticity.In the present research a scheme of solving the inverse problem for an inhomogeneous thermoelastic rod is presented. Two statements of the inverse problem are considered: in the Laplace transform space and in the actual space. The direct problem solving is reduced to a system of the Fredholm integral equations of the 2nd kind in the Laplace transform space and an inversion of the solutions obtained on the basis of the theory of residues. The inverse problem solving is reduced to an iterative procedure, at its each step it is necessary to solve the Fredholm integral equation of the 1st kind; to solve it the Tikhonov method is used. Specific examples of a reconstruction of variable characteristics required are given.  相似文献

The disturbance caused by the application of continuous mechanical source on the free surface of a homogeneous, isotropic elastic half space in the context of the theory of generalized thermoelastic diffusion with one relaxation time parameter is investigated in the Laplace-Fourier transform domain for a two dimensional problem using eigenvalue approach. The integral transforms are inverted by using a numerical technique. The expressions for displacement components, stresses, temperature field, concentration and chemical potential so obtained in the physical domain are computed numerically and illustrated graphically at different times, for copper like material. As a special case the effect of diffusion on various expressions has also been obtained analytically and depicted graphically.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider thin rods modeled by the direct approach, in which the rod-like body is regarded as a one-dimensional continuum (i.e., a deformable curve) with a triad of rigidly rotating orthonormal vectors attached to each material point. In this context, we present a model for porous thermoelastic curved rods, having natural twisting and arbitrary shape of cross-section. To describe the porosity, we employ the theory of elastic materials with voids. The basic laws of thermodynamics are applied directly to the one-dimensional continuum, and the nonlinear governing equations are established. We formulate the constitutive equations and determine the structure of constitutive tensors. We prove the uniqueness of solution to the boundary-initial-value problem associated with the deformation of porous thermoelastic rods in the framework of linear theory. Then, we show the decoupling of the bending-shear and extension-torsion problems for straight porous rods. Using a comparison with three-dimensional equations, we identify and give interpretations to the relevant fields introduced in the direct approach. Finally, we consider the case of orthotropic materials and determine the constitutive coefficients for deformable curves in terms of three-dimensional constitutive constants by means of comparison between simple solutions obtained in the two approaches for porous thermoelastic rods.  相似文献

The present paper is concerned with the investigation of disturbances in'a homogeneous, isotropic elastic medium with generalized thermoelastic diffusion, when a moving source is acting along one of the co-ordinate axis on the boundary of the medium. Eigen value approach is applied to study the disturbance in Laplace-Fourier transform domain for a two dimensional problem. The analytical expressions for displacement components, stresses, temperature field, concentration and chemical potential are obtained in the physical domain by using a numerical technique for the inversion of Laplace transform based on Fourier expansion techniques. These expressions are calculated numerically for a copper like material and depicted graphically. As special cases, the results in generalized thermoelastic and elastic media are obtained. Effect of presence of diffusion is analyzed theoretically and numerically.  相似文献

A problem concerned with the reflection and refraction of thermoelastic plane waves at an imperfect interface between two generalized thermally conducting cubic crystal solid half-spaces of different elastic and thermal properties with two relaxation times has been investigated. The generalized thermoelastic theory with two relaxation times developed by Green and Lindsay has been used to study the problem. The expressions for the reflection and refraction coefficients which are the ratios of the amplitudes of reflected and refracted waves to the amplitude of incident waves are obtained for an imperfect boundary and deduced for normal stiffness, transverse stiffness, thermal contact conductance, slip and welded boundaries. Amplitude ratios of different reflected and refracted waves for different boundaries with angle of emergence have been compared graphically for different incident waves. It is observed that the amplitude ratios of reflected and refracted waves are affected by the stiffness and thermal properties of the media.  相似文献

In this article, the wave propagation in a generalized thermoelastic solid cylinder of arbitrary cross-section is discussed, using the Fourier expansion collocation method. The solid medium is assumed to be linear, isotropic, and dependent on the rate of temperature. Three displacement potential functions are introduced, to uncouple the equations of motion and the heat conduction. By imposing the continuity conditions the frequency equation corresponding to the problem is obtained using the Fourier expansion collocation method based on Suhubi’s generalized theory [Suhubi, E.S., 1975. Thermoelastic Solids. In: Eringen, A.C. (Ed.), Continuum Physics, vol. 2. Academic, New York, Chapter 2]. To compare the model with the existing literature, the results of a generalized thermoelastic solid cylinder are obtained and they are compared with the results of Erbay and Suhubi [Erbay, E.S., Suhubi, E.S., 1986. Longitudinal wavepropagationed thermoelastic cylinder. J. Thermal Stresses 9, 279–295]. It shows very good degree of agreement. The computed non-dimensional wavenumbers are presented in figures for various values of the material parameters. The general theory can be used to study any kind of cylinders with proper geometrical relations.  相似文献

The secular equations for homogeneous isotropic micropolar thermoelastic plate without energy dissipation in closed form for symmetric and skew symmetric wave modes of propagation are derived. The different regions of secular equations are obtained. At short wavelength limits, the secular equations for symmetric and skew symmetric modes of wave propagation in a stress free insulated and isothermal plate reduce to Rayleigh surface wave frequency equation. The results for thermoelastic, micropolar elastic and elastic materials are obtained as particular cases from the derived secular equations. The amplitudes of displacement components, microrotation and temperature distribution are also computed during the symmetric and skew symmetric motion of the plate. The dispersion curves for symmetric and skew symmetric modes and amplitudes of displacement components, microrotation and temperature distribution in case of fundamental symmetric and skew symmetric modes are presented graphically. A semi-linear thermoelastic problem with localized damping is considered, which is one of the most important mathematical models in material science. The existence and decays exponentially to zero of solution of this problem are obtained. Moreover, the existence of absorbing sets is achieved in the non-homogeneous case. A wavelet-based methodology for detecting critical events in displacement and temperature histories, obtained by monitoring in-situ thermoelastic structures, is proposed. It is based on the wavelet analysis of thermoelastic potentials furnishing also the possibility to detect separately cases in which sudden jumps occur in the displacement history from those in which they occur on temperature history.  相似文献
