Photo-responsive liquid crystalline elastomer (LCE) with reduced chemically modified graphene oxide (RMGO) was fabricated and studied. Mesogenic groups modified graphene oxide (MGO) was prepared, reduced and characterised, then the obtained RMGO was mixed with an acrylate monomer containing a side-on mesogen, a crosslinker and a photoinitiator. After being oriented with magnetic field, well-defined LCE micropillar as photo-responsive actuators were fabricated from the mixture by the method combining soft lithography and photo-polymerisation/photo-crosslinking. The LCE micropillars showed reversible thermo-mechanical deformation during the nematic-to-isotropic transition temperature. Upon irradiating with red light (650 nm), photo-mechanical responses of the RMGO-containing LCE was demonstrated. This micron-sized LCE actuators can be used for remote photo-responsive devices.  相似文献

Nematic liquid crystalline elastomer (LCE) microactuators are developed, showing simultaneous thermomechanical deformation and photoluminescence (PL) emission variation functions. The microactuators are prepared by a method combining soft‐lithography and photo‐polymerization/crosslinking. 1,4‐Bis(α‐cyano‐4‐methoxystyryl)benzene as the PL dye is synthesized, characterized, and introduced into LCEs as a dopant in the preparation process. During the heating process, PL emission of the LCE micropillars under blue light excitation becomes significantly weak when the micropillars contract. When cooling down, the emission completely recovers as the micropillars stretches back to their original shape. The PL intensity variation at the transition is proved to be related to the thermomechanical deformation.

Reversible switching from a highly rough surface to another entirely smooth surface under external stimuli is crucial for intelligent materials applied in the fields of anti-fogging,self-cleaning,oil-water separation and biotechnology.In this work,a thermal-responsive liquid crystal elastomer (LCE) surface covered with oriented micropillars is prepared via a facile two-step crosslinking method coupled with an extrusion molding program.The reversible change of topological structures of the LCE surface along with temperature is investigated by metallographic microscope,atomic force microscopy and optical contact angle measuring system.At room temperature,the LCE sample is filled with plenty of micropillars with an average length of 8.76 μm,resulting in a super-hydrophobic surface with a water contact angle (WCA) of 135°.When the temperature is increased to above the clearing point,all the micropillars disappear,the LCE surface becomes entirely fiat and presents a hydrophilic state with a WCA of 64°.The roughness-related wetting property of this microstructured LCE surface possesses good recyclability in several heating/cooling cycles.This work realizes a truly reversible transformation from a highly rough surface to an entirely smooth surface,and might promote the potential applications of this dynamic-responsive LCE surface in smart sensors and biomimetic control devices.  相似文献

液晶弹性体是交联型液晶大分子,兼具液晶取向有序性和交联聚合物熵弹性等特性,在传感器、触发器、微流体装置和仿生器件等方面具有很好的应用前景.制备液晶弹性体的微结构,探索其独特的刺激响应性,是目前液晶弹性体研究的重要方向.侧链液晶弹性体的液晶相态类型取决于其液晶基元和主链的连接方式.腰接型侧链液晶弹性体倾向于形成向列型液晶相,具有较快的响应速度和形变程度,是一类独特的液晶弹性体.本文重点介绍腰接型液晶弹性体微结构(如微米柱、微米线等)的制备;利用金纳米粒子的光热转换效应,实现液晶弹性体光响应性的新途径;以及腰接型侧链液晶弹性体仿生微结构的功能性等.同时还对该领域的发展前景进行了展望.  相似文献

Thermal reprogrammability is essential for new‐generation large dry soft actuators, but the realization sacrifices the favored actuation performance. The contradiction between thermal reprogrammability and stability hampers efforts to design high‐performance soft actuators to be robust and thermally adaptable. Now, a strategy has been developed that relies on repeatedly switching on/off thermal reprogrammability in liquid‐crystalline elastomer (LCE) actuators to resolve this problem. By post‐synthesis swelling, a latent siloxane exchange reaction can be induced in the common siloxane LCEs (switching on), enabling reprogramming into on‐demand 3D‐shaped actuators; by switching off the dynamic network by heating, actuation stability is guaranteed even at high temperature (180 °C). Using partially black‐ink‐patterned LCEs, selectively switching off reprogrammability allows integration of completely different actuation modes in one monolithic actuator for more delicate and elaborate tasks.  相似文献

Novel main-chain liquid crystalline Diels—Alder dynamic networks (LCDANs) were prepared that exhibit unprecedented ease for actuator programming and reprocessing compared to existing liquid crystalline network (LCN) systems. Following cooling from 125 °C, LCDANs are deformed with aligned mesogens self-locked at room temperature by slowly formed Diels–Alder (DA) bonds, which allows for the formation of solid 3D actuators capable of reversible shape change, and strip walker and wheel-capable light-driven locomotion upon either thermally or optically induced order–disorder phase transition. Any actuator can readily be erased at 125 °C and reprogrammed into a new one under ambient conditions. Moreover, LCDANs can be processed directly from melt (for example, fiber drawing) and from solution (for example, casting tubular actuators), which cannot be achieved with LCNs using exchangeable covalent bonds. The combined attributes of LCDANs offer significant progress toward developing easily programmable/processable LCN actuators.  相似文献

Liquid-crystal elastomers (LCEs) capable of performing large and reversible deformation in response to an external stimulus are an important class of soft actuators. However, their manufacturing process typically involves a multistep approach that requires harsh conditions. For the very first time, LCEs with customized geometries that can be manufactured by a rapid one-step approach at room temperature are developed. The LCEs are hydrogen bond (H-bond) crosslinked main chain polymers comprising flexible short side chains. Applying a stretching/shear force to the LCE can simultaneously induce mesogen alignment and H-bond exchange, allowing for the formation of well-aligned LCE networks stabilized by H-bonds. Based on this working principle, soft actuators in fibers and 2D/3D objects can be manufactured by mechanical stretching or melt extrusion within a short time (e.g. <1 min). These actuators can perform reversible macroscopic motions with large, controlled deformations up to 38 %. The dynamic nature of H-bonds also provides the actuators with reprocessability and reprogrammability. Thus, this work opens the way for the one-step and custom manufacturing of soft actuators.  相似文献

The basis of these applications is the ability of LCEs to undergo a reversible shape change upon a liquid crystalline (LC)-isotropic phase transition. Herein, we report the synthesis of a novel LCE based on a side-chain liquid crystalline polymer (SCLCP). In contrast to known LCEs, this LCE exhibits a striking anomalous shape change. Subjecting a mechanically stretched monodomain strip to LC-disorder phase transition, both the length and width of the strip contract in isotropic phase, and both elongate in LC phase. This thermally induced behaviour is the result of a subtle interplay between the relaxation of polymer main chain oriented along the stretching direction and the disordering of side-group mesogens oriented perpendicularly to the stretching direction. This finding points out potential design of LCEs of this peculiar type and possible applications to exploit.  相似文献

The compound 2,6-bis(N-tert-butylacetamide)pyridine (2) was obtained via a Ritter synthesis, and oxidation with oxone provided the title pyridine-N-oxide (3). The compounds were characterized by spectroscopic methods, and the molecular structure of the N-oxide was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction methods. The coordination chemistry with Eu(NO3)3 was examined by using 1:1 and 2:1 ligand/Eu ratios, and a single-crystal X-ray analysis for Eu(3)(NO3)3(H2O) was completed. The ligand 3 is found to chelate in a tridentate fashion on the Eu(III).  相似文献

The extracting agent 2,6-bis(4,6-di-pivaloylamino-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)-pyridine (L(5)) in n-octanol was found, in synergy with 2-bromodecanoic acid, to give D(Am)/D(Eu) separation factors (SFs) between 2.4 and 3.7 when used to extract the metal ions from 0.02-0.12 M HNO(3). Slightly higher SFs (4-6) were obtained in the absence of the synergist when the ligand was used to extract Am(III) and Eu(III) from 0.98 M HNO(3). In order to investigate the possible nature of the extracted species crystal structures of L(5) and the complex formed between Yb(III) with 2,6-bis(4,6-di-amino-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)-pyridine (L(4)) were also determined. The structure of L(5) shows 3 methanol solvent molecules all of which form 2 or 3 hydrogen bonds with triazine nitrogen atoms, amide nitrogen or oxygen atoms, or pyridine nitrogen atoms. However, L(5) is relatively unstable in metal complexation reactions and loses amide groups to form the parent tetramine L(4). The crystal structure of Yb(L(4))(NO(3))(3) shows ytterbium in a 9-coordinate environment being bonded to three donor atoms of the ligand and three bidentate nitrate ions. The solvent extraction properties of L(4) and L(5) are far inferior to those found for the 2,6-bis-(1,2,4-triazin-3-yl)-pyridines (L(1)) which have SF values of ca. 140 and theoretical calculations have been made to compare the electronic properties of the ligands. The electronic charge distribution in L(4) and L(5) is similar to that found in other terdentate ligands such as terpyridine which have equally poor extraction properties and suggests that the unique properties of L(1) evolve from the presence of two adjacent nitrogen atoms in the triazine rings.  相似文献

Circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) of chiral Eu(III) complexes with nona- and octa-coordinated structures, [Eu(R/S-iPr-Pybox)(D-facam)(3)] (1-R/1-S; R/S-iPr-Pybox, 2,6-bis(4R/4S-isopropyl-2-oxazolin-2-yl)pyridine; D-facam, 3-trifluoroacetyl-d-camphor), [Eu(S,S-Me-Ph-Pybox)(D-facam)(3)] (2-SS; S,S-Me-Ph-Pybox, 2,6-bis(4S-methyl-5S-phenyl-2-oxazolin-2-yl)pyridine), and [Eu(Phen)(D-facam)(3)] (3; Phen, 1,10-phenanthroline) are reported, and their structural features are discussed on the basis of X-ray crystallographic analyses. These chiral Eu(III) complexes showed relatively intense photoluminescence due to their (5)D(0) → (7)F(1) (magnetic-dipole) and (5)D(0) → (7)F(2) (electric-dipole) transition. The dissymmetry factors of CPL (g(CPL)) at the former band of 1-R and 1-S were as large as -1.0 and -0.8, respectively, while the g(CPL) of 3 at the (5)D(0) → (7)F(1) transition was relatively small (g(CPL) = -0.46). X-ray crystallographic data indicated specific ligand-ligand hydrogen bonding in these compounds which was expected to stabilize their chiral structures even in solution phase. CPL properties of 1-R and 1-S were discussed in terms of transition nature of lanthanide luminescence.  相似文献

The use of metal ion-induced polymerizations of a ditopic ligand offers a facile route to the preparation of organic/inorganic hybrid materials. Such metallo-supramolecular polymers potentially offer the functionality of the metal ion along with the processibility of a polymer. We report, herein, the preparation of gellike metallo-supramolecular polymers prepared from a monomer unit, which consists of a 2,6-bis-(benzimidazolyl)-4-hydroxypyridine unit attached to either end of a polyether chain, mixed with a transition metal ion (e.g., Co(II) or Zn(II)) and a small percentage of a lanthanoid metal (e.g., La(III), Eu(III)). Such materials show dramatic reversible responses to a variety of stimuli, including thermal, mechanical, chemo, and photo. The nature of the response can be controlled by the nature of the combination of transition metal ion and lanthanide metal ion used.  相似文献

Liquid crystal elastomers (LCEs) with intrinsic anisotropic strains are reversible shape‐memory polymers of interest in sensor, actuator, and soft robotics applications. Rapid gelation of LCEs is required to fix molecular ordering within the elastomer network, which is essential for directed shape transformation. A highly efficient photo‐cross‐linking chemistry, based on two‐step oxygen‐mediated thiol–acrylate click reactions, allows for nearly instant gelation of the main‐chain LCE network upon exposure to UV light. Molecular orientation from the pre‐aligned liquid crystal oligomers can be faithfully transferred to the LCE films, allowing for preprogrammed shape morphing from two to three dimensions by origami‐ (folding‐only) and kirigami‐like (folding with cutting) mechanisms. The new LCE chemistry also enables widely tunable physical properties, including nematic‐to‐ isotropic phase‐transition temperatures (TN‐I), glassy transition temperatures (Tg), and mechanical strains, without disrupting the LC ordering.  相似文献

A new ligand, N,N'-di(pyridine N-oxide-2-yl)pyridine-2,6-dicarboxamide (LH2) and its several lanthanide (III) complexes (La, Eu, Gd, Tb, Y) were synthesized and characterized in detail based on elemental analysis, conductivity measurements, IR, 1H NMR, MS (FAB) and UV spectra and TG-DTA studies. The results indicated that the composition of these binary complexes is [Ln(LH2)(NO3)2.H2O]NO3.nH2O (n=0-1); while the ligand has a good planar structure with strong hydrogen bonds. The fluorescence spectra exhibits that the Tb (III) complex and the Eu (III) complex display characteristic metal-centered fluorescence in solid state while ligand fluorescence is completely quenched. However, the Tb (III) complex displays more effective luminescence than the Eu (III) complex, which is attributed to especial effectivity in transferring energy from the lowest triplet energy level of the ligands (T) onto the excited state (5D4) of Tb (III) than that (5D1) of Eu (III).  相似文献

A novel ligand, N2,N6-bis[2-(3-methylpyridyl)]pyridine-2,6-dicarboxamide (L2) and the corresponding Eu(III) and Tb(III) hydrochlorate complexes have been synthesized and characterized in detail based on elemental analysis, IR and NMR. The crystal and molecular structure of the complexes was determined by X-ray crystallography. The Eu(III) and Tb(III) ions were found to coordinate to the amido nitrogen atoms and pyridine nitrogen atoms. The luminescence properties of lanthanide complexes in solid state, in different solutions and in different pH value were investigated. The result shows that Tb(III) complexes exhibit more efficient luminescence than Eu(III) complexes, and the ligand (L2) is an excellent sensitizer to Tb(III) ion.  相似文献

We report on the fabrication of a rewritable and reprogrammable dual‐photoresponsive liquid crystalline‐based actuator containing an azomerocyanine dye that can be locally converted into the hydroxyazopyridinium form by acid treatment. Each dye absorbs at a different wavelength giving access to programmable actuators, the folding of which can be controlled by using different colors of light. The acidic patterning is reversible and allows the erasing and rewriting of patterns in the polymer film, giving access to reusable, adjustable soft actuators.  相似文献
