We obtain a sharp upper bound for the spectral radius of a nonnegative matrix. This result is used to present upper bounds for the adjacency spectral radius, the Laplacian spectral radius, the signless Laplacian spectral radius, the distance spectral radius, the distance Laplacian spectral radius, the distance signless Laplacian spectral radius of an undirected graph or a digraph. These results are new or generalize some known results.  相似文献

In this paper,we review some results on the spectral methods. We frst consider the Jacobi spectral method and the generalized Jacobi spectral method for various problems, including degenerated and singular diferential equations. Then we present the generalized Jacobi quasi-orthogonal approximation and its applications to the spectral element methods for high order problems with mixed inhomogeneous boundary conditions. We also discuss the related spectral methods for non-rectangular domains and the irrational spectral methods for unbounded domains.Next,we consider the Hermite spectral method and the generalized Hermite spectral method with their applications. Finally,we consider the Laguerre spectral method and the generalized Laguerre spectral method for many problems defned on unbounded domains. We also present the generalized Laguerre quasi-orthogonal approximation and its applications to certain problems of non-standard type and exterior problems.  相似文献

In this paper, we obtain the sharp upper and lower bounds for the spectral radius of a nonnegative irreducible matrix. We also apply these bounds to various matrices associated with a graph or a digraph, obtain some new results or known results about various spectral radii, including the adjacency spectral radius, the signless Laplacian spectral radius, the distance spectral radius, the distance signless Laplacian spectral radius of a graph or a digraph.  相似文献

An inverse spectral problem is studied for a non-selfadjoint Sturm-Liouville operator on a finite interval with an arbitrary behavior of the spectrum. The spectral data introduced generalize the classical discrete spectral data corresponding to the specification of the spectral function in the selfadjoint case. The connection with other types of spectral characteristics is investigated and a uniqueness theorem is proved. A constructive procedure for solving the inverse problem is given.  相似文献

We define the notion of triangular (Leray–Koszul) spectral sequence and show that the Jordan spectral invariants of an endomorphism form a triangular spectral sequence. We introduce the concept of a universal coupling between a spectral sequence and a triangular spectral sequence and obtain a second spectral sequence associated to a Massey exact couple. Using these ideas, we construct an example of a spectral sequence which is not derived from an exact couple. To cite this article: B. Bendiffalah, C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris, Ser. I 346 (2008).  相似文献

The concept of a spectral sequence constructor is generalised to Hopf Galois extensions. The spectral sequence constructions that are given by Guichardet for crossed product algebras are also generalised and shown to provide examples. It is shown that all spectral sequence constructors for Hopf Galois extensions construct the same spectral sequence.  相似文献

We introduce the periodic Airy–Schrödinger operator and we describe its band spectrum. This is an example of solvable model with a periodic potential which is not differentiable at its extrema. We prove that there exists a sequence of explicit constants giving upper bounds of the semiclassical parameter for which explicit estimates are valid. We completely determine the behaviour of the edges of the first spectral band with respect to the semiclassical parameter. Then, we investigate the spectral bands and gaps situated in the range of the potential. We prove precise estimates on the widths of these spectral bands and these spectral gaps and we determine an upper bound on the integrated spectral density in this range. Finally, we get estimates of the edges of spectral bands and thus of the widths of spectral bands and spectral gaps which are stated for values of the semiclassical parameter in fixed intervals.  相似文献

In the present paper, for part of the eigenfunction system corresponding to a spectral problem with spectral parameter in the boundary condition, we write out a spectral problem for the same differential equation with a nonlocal boundary condition that does not contain the spectral parameter. In addition, we construct the biorthogonal system.  相似文献

In the paper, we first propose a Crank-Nicolson Galerkin-Legendre (CN-GL) spectral scheme for the one-dimensional nonlinear space fractional Schrödinger equation. Convergence with spectral accuracy is proved for the spectral approximation. Further, a Crank-Nicolson ADI Galerkin-Legendre spectral method for the two-dimensional nonlinear space fractional Schrödinger equation is developed. The proposed schemes are shown to be efficient with second-order accuracy in time and spectral accuracy in space which are higher than some recently studied methods. Moreover, some numerical results are demonstrated to justify the theoretical analysis.  相似文献

In an attempt to examine the random version of the spectral theorem, the notion of random spectral measures and generalized random spectral measures are introduced and investigated. It is shown that each generalized random spectral measure on $(\mathbb C ,\mathcal{B}(\mathbb C ))$ admits a modification which is a random spectral measure.  相似文献

Abstract

In this article, we discuss Jacobi spectral Galerkin and iterated Jacobi spectral Galerkin methods for Volterra-Urysohn integral equations with weakly singular kernels and obtain the convergence results in both the infinity and weighted L2-norm. We show that the order of convergence in iterated Jacobi spectral Galerkin method improves over Jacobi spectral Galerkin method. We obtain the convergence results in two cases when the exact solution is sufficiently smooth and non-smooth. For finding the improved convergence results, we also discuss Jacobi spectral multi-Galerkin and iterated Jacobi spectral multi-Galerkin method and obtain the convergence results in weighted L2-norm. In fact, we prove that the iterated Jacobi spectral multi-Galerkin method improves over iterated Jacobi spectral Galerkin method. We provide numerical results to verify the theoretical results.  相似文献

In this paper, we establish some sufficient conditions for a graph to be Hamilton-connected in terms of the edge number, the spectral radius and the signless Laplacian spectral radius of the graph. Furthermore, we also give some sufficient conditions for a graph to be traceable from every vertex in terms of the edge number, the spectral radius and the signless Laplacian spectral radius.  相似文献

Spectral density and structure function for fractal profile are analyzed. It is found that the fractal dimension obtained from spectral density is not exactly the same as that obtained from structure function. The fractal dimension of structure function is larger than that of spectral density for small fractal dimension, and is smaller than that of spectral density for larger fractal dimension. The fractal dimension of structure function strongly depends on the spectral density at low and high wave numbers. The spectral density at low wave number affects the structure function at long distance, especially for small fractal dimension. The spectral density at high wave number affects the structure function at short distance, especially for large fractal dimension. This problem is more serious for bifractal profiles. Therefore, in order to obtain a correct fractal dimension, both spectral density and structure function should be checked.  相似文献

A. Beurling introduced the concept of spectral sets of unbounded functions to study the possibility of the approximation of those by trigonometric polynomials. The author studied spectral sets of the Riemann zeta-function and zeta-functions belonging to a certain class. The purpose of the present paper is to improve the results in the previous studies for spectral sets. The improvement is based on the relation between spectral sets and support of distributions.  相似文献

The essential spectral radius of a sub-Markovian process is defined as the infimum of the spectral radiuses of all local perturbations of the process. When the family of rescaled processes satisfies sample path large deviation principle, the spectral radius and the essential spectral radius are expressed in terms of the rate function. The paper is motivated by applications to reflected diffusions and jump Markov processes describing stochastic networks for which the sample path large deviation principle has been established and the rate function has been identified while essential spectral radius has not been calculated.  相似文献

Spectral methods are a class of methods for solving partial differential equations (PDEs). When the solution of the PDE is analytic, it is known that the spectral solutions converge exponentially as a function of the number of modes used. The basic spectral method works only for regular domains such as rectangles or disks. Domain decomposition methods/spectral element methods extend the applicability of spectral methods to more complex geometries. An alternative is to embed the irregular domain into a regular one. This paper uses the spectral method with domain embedding to solve PDEs on complex geometry. The running time of the new algorithm has the same order as that for the usual spectral collocation method for PDEs on regular geometry. The algorithm is extremely simple and can handle Dirichlet, Neumann boundary conditions as well as nonlinear equations.  相似文献

Nylen and Rodman [NR] introduced the notion of spectral radius property in Banach algebras in order to generalize a classical theorem of Yamamoto on the asymptotic behaviour of the singular values of ann xn matrix. In this paper we prove a conjecture of theirs in the affirmative, namely that any unital Banach algebra has the spectral radius property. In fact a slightly more general spectral property holds. We show that for every element which has spectral points which are not of finite multiplicity, the essential spectral radius is the supremum of the set of absolute values of the spectral points that are not of finite multiplicity.  相似文献

We establish a duality between global sheaves on spectral spaces and right distributive bands. This is a sheaf-theoretical extension of classical Stone duality between spectral spaces and bounded distributive lattices. The topology of a spectral space admits a refinement, the so-called patch topology, giving rise to a patch monad on sheaves over a fixed spectral space. Under the duality just mentioned the algebras of this patch monad are shown to correspond to distributive skew lattices.  相似文献

We introduce the spectral points of two-sided positive type of bounded normal operators in Krein spaces. It is shown that a normal operator has a local spectral function on sets which are of two-sided positive type. In addition, we prove that the Riesz–Dunford spectral subspace corresponding to a spectral set which is only of positive type is uniformly positive. The restriction of the operator to this subspace is then normal in a Hilbert space.  相似文献

We study the uniform convergence in C 1 of the Fourier series of a Hölder function in a system of eigenfunctions corresponding to a spectral problem with squared spectral parameter in a boundary condition. We preliminarily study one more spectral problem with a spectral parameter in a boundary condition.  相似文献
